It’s well known that journalists only play for a few hours before releasing their reviews. They probably got to the underdark in act 1 and called it a day. Act 1 is indeed fricking amazing, for me the peak of the game was Grymforge, but Larian is Larian, so the first half of the game is always kino. Then you get to the shadowlands and beat the stage boss and you realize act 2 is a lot shorter and of lesser quality than act 1, the shadowlands are just boring in general and I forced myself to explore but the entire time I just wanted to be running around an out door area or the city of Baldur’s Gate. And then you get to the city and it’s just a few measly streets, the side quests are barely functioning (I couldn’t beat 5 fricking sidequests because at some point they just fricking broke and I couldn’t proceed.), entire story lines from earlier are dropped and never mentioned again, the framerate becomes shit (120 in act 1 to just 40 in act 3? Haha okay) there is literally 0 (ZERO) party interactions or chatter even though the first act is jam-packed with it, worst of all the conclusion is just merely okay…
And oh yeah, remember how Larian said act 1 was just 25% of the game? Because lol. Lmao. It’s easily 45-50% of the total playtime. In reality Act 2 is like 20% of the game and act 3 is 30%.

It’s well known that journalists only play for a few hours before releasing their reviews. They probably got to the underdark in act 1 and called it a day. Act 1 is indeed fricking amazing, for me the peak of the game was Grymforge, but Larian is Larian, so the first half of the game is always kino. Then you get to the shadowlands and beat the stage boss and you realize act 2 is a lot shorter and of lesser quality than act 1, the shadowlands are just boring in general and I forced myself to explore but the entire time I just wanted to be running around an out door area or the city of Baldur’s Gate. And then you get to the city and it’s just a few measly streets, the side quests are barely functioning (I couldn’t beat 5 fricking sidequests because at some point they just fricking broke and I couldn’t proceed.), entire story lines from earlier are dropped and never mentioned again, the framerate becomes shit (120 in act 1 to just 40 in act 3? Haha okay) there is literally 0 (ZERO) party interactions or chatter even though the first act is jam-packed with it, worst of all the conclusion is just merely okay…
And oh yeah, remember how Larian said act 1 was just 25% of the game? Because lol. Lmao. It’s easily 45-50% of the total playtime. In reality Act 2 is like 20% of the game and act 3 is 30%.
