New Release Dates:
August 3rd for PC
September 6th for PS5 (Slight delay for 60fps optimizations)
Unknown for Xbox because the shitty Series S is holding them back.

I can't wait bros, I've been hyped about this all day.
Thalidomide Vintage Ad Shirt $22.14 |
CRIME Shirt $21.68 |
Thalidomide Vintage Ad Shirt $22.14 |
Sex with Shadowheart, Lae'zel, Minthara, and fingers crossed, Helia
Literally the only game this year I'm hyped about, if Dragons Dogma doesn't release obviously.
DD2 is too green to release this year. They barely had anything to show for the trailer
yeah, I'm betting end of 2023, or early 2024
Step aside.
Vaporware.
It's not releasing this year. September gets an "update" including info ABOUT the release date. Q1/2 of next year, SCREENCAP THIS POST etc
More importantly, it will be shit.
>VTMB2
Bro the development stalled twice witht he original team getting dissolved ad the project being shifted to someone else to start from scratch. It's never coming
There are news coming in september, they canned the old game and tease something new.
It's a marketing stunt, they want people to think that this game is an unfinished broken cult classic just like the original.
Frick, I'm still hoping this turns out great, but it would take a miracle to actually make it happen
I don't get why people aren't more hyped about Remnant 2. It's clearly going to be cool as shit
That's one of those games that will probably on PS+ in a few months time.
I don't know what that implies, I don't have a playstation. But it has a much bigger studio now and is more ambitious
Remnant was one of the "Free" games on PS+ so the sequel will most likely be the same. I did enjoy it though, me and my brother played and enjoyed the hell out of it.
For some reason I doubt that it will be free. Like I said, they're aiming higher with the sequel
>August 3rd for PC
isn't there a 72h EA as well?
There is but you can only access Act 1.
To clarify this isn't the EA Act 1 but the complete Act 1 with the all the extras that they added for said act.
That's something I noticed as well, there's a lot of "at launch" language used in their blogpost so I do wonder if they're planning on an expansion that takes the story further and adds extra (sub)races, (sub)classes and spells.
I'd love to see it but adding new classes and races isn't just implementing some new visuals and mechanics, they'd have to add in dialog options and make the game react to your choices of race and class like they do with the existing ones so I'm not super optimistic about this.
I am really pleasently surprised since i've bought the game like an year ago so i've been waiting for this a long time. Getting it one month early is great.
>60fps
Absolute fricking Snoy bullshit. It needs to be a silky smooth 20fps like Godd Howard intended.
troony game, not baldur's gate.
>Cross Save compatible
Can't wait to save scum my files and then move them to PS5
>PC release brought forward a month
I wonder where that one schizo who insisted it was an early access scam is now.
Even the bot that spams the same screencaps in every Larian/Owlcat thread wasn’t that moronic
I haven't seen him in any threads today. He must have slunk off looking for a new angle.
The shit was releasing a day before starfield early access. They're just shoveling it out quicker so the goys have time to buy their slop.
Console release, which is the one that will actually compete for the normalgay audience, is due after starfield.
Are there lewd outfits? This is very important since Im on PS5 so no coomer mods (the Divinity games were depressingly tame on that regard)
Dream waifu gets one and there’s some in the files, but so far getting them on party members is mod territory.
I don’t know if that’s going to change in full release. Sven is pretty sneaky about slipping lewd material in when nobody’s looking, regardless of whatever dumb shit PR morons might say.
Oath of Devotion Paladins WW@
I can't wait for people to start playing the game and actually start failing as Paladins. There will be so many salty Paladin LARPers that their Oaths keep getting broken. I should prepare my folder of GIT GOOD images.
Will you become an Oathbreaker if you kill evil people in the game outside of normal combat?
Understand your oath. Read YOUR OATH when you make your character. People kept breaking their oaths just because they thought that lying to evil people was ok, just because they are evil. Lying is Lying b***h! If you took an oath not to LIE, DON'T DO IT!
Hah people actually did that?
I know enough to know you always have to be honest as a Paladin.
Depends on your Oath. I think that there are oaths that let you lie but have other limitations.
>self-insert
>never break my oath
>???
>profit
Wait you can break your oath as a paladin in bg3?
Yes, you can. You can do it trough dialogue or trough actions or combat.
Yes and its built in mechanic for unlocking oathbreaker paladin.
Neat
I know my friend is already planning to make a paladin sorcerer multiclass
I wonder if I should warn of this...
Or you can sit on the side and watch him fail and panic initially as he becomes an oathbreaker since he forgot what his oath was about.
There's a caged goblin in the goblin encampment base who will threaten to kill you and everyone you love but if you stab him through his cage it will break your oath because technically he is in a state of being non hostile and unarmed. There are also several lies (or at least half-truths) you can tell that dont break Devotion so it's up in the air if you dont onow which choices can break your oath already
This is such a stupid headcanon, people will just savescum their oaths if they frick up and move on
I have only had my oath broken due to a bug. If you have Halsin with you when you're killing Goblins, if you don't knock out them out with your MC you will break your oath
You can just pay the divine Janny tax.
Or find loopholes they didn’t think to make a falling offence, such as punting manlets into lava
is it hard not to? I felt like it was as easy as just follow the rules given when playing one in the game
That sounds kino if the game will actually deliver on that front.
>if the game will actually deliver on that front
It should do as it was already done 20 years ago
Always wanted to get into this franchise, do I have to play the first two before this one?
Don't bother with 1. It's garbage. Play 2 if you want. 3 is standalone and gripping; play the EA now
1 and 2 use AD&D rules, while 3 is 5E.
1 is a low level adventure based around lots of travel and exploration, and it also doesn’t pull its punches so expect a blind run to require a lot of quick saves when you get fricked from a brutal spell, trap or monster far beyond your level. The companions are pretty basic, because the direction changed at the last minute (originally it was supposed to be a meat grinder that would necessitate constantly getting new ones). The story is basically fantasy highlander if The Kurgan was a first act villain, with the ultimate prize being divinity.
2 is a far more structured adventure, and you end up incredibly powerful with more companion interaction. It can be just as brutal as 1, but you have far more tools of your own to counter it, so you’ll quick load a lot less. You can get the basic gist of 1 from playing 2, and the characters that carry over get almost all their interactions in 2, but if you’re invested in the story it’s best to play 1 first.
3 is set about 150 years after 2, and has to accommodate some retcons made by the company in the years in between releases, but there is a thread connecting them (which I can’t say because it’s looking to be a spoiler).
Party interaction is similar to 2’s level, though character creation is more regimented (it uses a point but attribute system rather than a roll). The level cap is higher than 1 but lower than 2 and there’s more environmental interaction than the prior games.
I'm new to 5e and confused by this point buy system
Seems you really get jack shit at level 1 even with human +6 points
Launch Races.
It's curious they used the term "launch races" to me. I wonder if they plan to add more via DLC or expansions later.
Launch classes.
New spells for launch.
>1 (one) illusion spell
>he needs more
So it seems
So it seems
Mercer is in this game right? Do you think they'll add Blood Hunter?
All the classes and races you see in those lists are the ones that will be in the game. Larian doesn't do dlc's.
>Mercer
Yes. He voices Minsc.
>Do you think they'll add [type of content implied to be slated for post-launch]?
Maybe. Depends on how much they want to do so, and how much money they think they can make by doing so.
>He voices Minsc
I like Mercer but why? They could affird J.K Simmons but not Jim Cummings? The frick
Jim Cummings got cancelled by Twitter for some bullshit so WoTC probably told Larian not to touch him.
Wtf did he say/do
Cummings was on the wrong end of a twitter witch hunt.
He was absolved, but he’s still keeping his head down
omg this game is gonna soak up 1000 hours with all the replays to try out the classes
oh wow instead of being a fighter and hitting my enemy i am now a barbarian and go into rage at the start of combat and then hit my enemy, or i am a paladin that hits his enemy and if he crits i do extra damage thanks to smite
5e really is the peak of replay value
There are class and race specific dialogue options and things you can do. NTA but it's fun to explore them in games.
So choose eldritch knight you shitbaby
oh wow i hit the enemy but cast shield on myself
thanks anon, now the game is fun!
have they implemented shield yet
>Meanwhile BG2 fighter/wizard
>wow i cast mage armor on myself and autoattack, now the game is fun!
I can do it too homosexual
They promised to at least keep races/classes to the players handbook right? They might add a few races and other classes in DLC/Definitive Edition.
Kinda sad there's no Aasimar. Maybe down the road.
There's obvious ones they'll probably do like Lizardborn, Orc, Goliath, Goblin (already got the models) and the other Gnome/Dwarf spinoffs.
Do we really need the whole circus of freakshows? dragonborn and tieflings not enough for the special snowflakes?
There is nothing unique about any humanoid race to begin with. You complaining about people having more options to pick from makes no sense.
>more options
Good
>more options that make no sense
Why?
Is it even possible for goblin to reach the minimum INT requirement to be a hero or villain?
Why can't we get Githzerai? I want to be Dak'kon.
we can probably expect things like githzerai, maybe shifters or changelings, and i personally think aasimar isn't too hopium if we get enough interaction with elturel and zariel's plot during this time period, as future DLC races potentially.
WE MADE IT
WHERE WE AT DRAGONBORN CHADS?
Reporting in. The ones we saw in the pictures didn't look bad. Let's hope the female ones look nice too. Since they nailed it with the DOS2 lizards I have high hopes.
DOS2 Femlizards gave me a new fetish.
Sadly femdragonborns won't have breasts or those childbearing hips from OS2
Swen seems to have focused his coomer powers on the shortstacks in this game.
Is White Dragonborn the Nord one? What about Breton?
I still don't get why there are two metallic dragonborn that have fire resistance/breath
It's well beyond hopium since it would require far more than just slapping pointy ears on something but it would be cool to get a game with playable aarakocra. Unfortunately, the most interesting factor, the unique gameplay options, are probably the most likely reason they would never appear.
>no variant human
I sleep…
One race the human race, chud
People who play paladin are cucks and unironically redditors who think they are the "pure good" of the world but fail miserably when they would have to follow their own oath and rules.
This. People like to pretend that they could play a lawful character but when a game actually implement mechanics that put a check on you they fail.
Nobody is lawful, it's ridiculous.
Your Oath is the internal law of your being. All Paladins are lawful. There might not be ''lawful alighnment'' but for all intents and purposes Paladins ARE lawful.
They always have the best 2H weapons too, I always hated that in D&D.
So if i play oath of Vengeance (Conquest if they ever add it) or Oathbreaker do you have a nice day or what.
People who don't play as paladin are weaklings with no moral fortitude.
It's 5e Paladins don't have alignments
>paladins
nothing have alignments
But israelites are still restricted to evil, right?
it clearly states that devils don't have to be evil anymore
Oaths are pretty much ''allighments'' just not called that way. You have to keep acting a certain way or you lose them(break your oath).
>inb4 REEEEE but they are not called alignments it doesn't matter that they work like alignments
wizardchads ww@
Here and binding my time
I know divination and enchantment are OP in Pathfinder, but what about D&D? Which wizard subclass is the best?
Probably the same. Divination and Chonrugy are OP from what I can remember.
>his wizzard doesn’t use a half brick in a sock build
The absolute state
I'm put off by the level cap, maybe I've been spoiled by Pathfinder but 12 levels doesn't seem like a lot to customize, are you going to get something at every level?
>PC
>PS5
>Mac
Xboxbros?
Coming eventually.
Larian is having trouble getting split screen co-op to work well on the Series S and Microsoft forces release parity between the X and S for some reason.
microsoft deserve the rope for the series s. It's so shit and his holding back development on future games massively
>party member Minthara
I’ll pour one out for the wife scholar
He may slumber in the shadows, but he’s always by our side
His dick is going to be sore for weeks with all the options he'll have
>Ritual Caster feat
oh my
>shitty Series S is holding them back.
Why is that holding back an isometric game?
Do devs not optimize their games anymore?
WHY IS NO ONE TALKING ABOUT THIS SHIT
17 dexterity on a Zariel tiefling
Basically, stat rolling is confirmed
I think that Story difficulty mode gives you extra stats. So this is the game on easy mode IMO. I could be wrong of course.
It could be Tasha's ability scores
Having odd numbered stats is so cringe, you're a shitter if you start with this, with the exception that it's sane to do if you know you're giving that character ethel's hair
Just create a general already
White Male
Paladin
1 hand and shield
Frick the black haired Elf until she becomes a submissive housewife
Refund this piece of shit nonsense 2 hours in
I hope the option to kill the Druids and let the refugees leave. Minthara might be my wife but I really want to give oath of vengeance a run.
In-universe, which race is going to be the most hated? will NPCs treat me worse if I'm a drow or tiefling?
Drows are the ones everyone is afraid of, tieflings are treated like 'minorities'.
Redpill me on Drows
A mix between Black folk and gypsies
They will steal your kid, they will curse you, they will send their spider to paralyze you and suck your dick, they are black
>spider to paralyze you and suck your dick
what the frick i love Black person gypsies now!!
Most drow are Lolthite (or at least in the part of the game act 1 takes place), who are a society of matriarchal race supremacists and slavers.
not half orcs?
I'd be more afraid of bdsm elves instead of some green barbarians.
Where's that screenshot from? Or fake?
Playstation blog from yesterday.
https://blog.playstation.com/2023/06/29/new-details-on-baldurs-gate-3-character-creation-and-companions-out-september-6/
What the frick did they do with Minsc? HAHAHA
He looks weirdly skinny. And it will be strange to hear him without Polish Dub. His BG2 voice in Polish is absolutely iconic
We all feel that pain, since twitter homosexuals mean Jim Cummings can’t come back either.
MINSK I BOO! NIE ZAPOMINAJ O BOO!!!
I hope you can pick other ears, he looks like dumbo and not intimidating at all
Probably drow. Githyanki is close second.
Is this going to be like solasta where melee classes do 4 attacks per turn with good damage but boring as frick because all you do is spam boring normal attack. My sorcerer had more interesting options but was limited to one spell with mediocre damage per turn. As a result he was a mainly double haste buffer. And so many interesting spells require concentration so spell choice was really limited because I had to keep concentrating on haste.
Depending on the subclass or progression path you go down, you can get some abilities to use in combat (granted, a lot of them are variants of just hitting the enemy), and they’re more likely to succeed with bonus actions against enemies. Fighters and barbarians are much more likely to succeed in shoving enemies into pits/off ledges, for example.
Yes, because as a martial all you do in 5e is "I attack"
Larian has added mechanics to combat this. Weapons for example give a skill you can use, like a cone shaped attack, etc. Gives depth to the game.
Thank god
Who are the LG and NG deities of BG3? Also, why doesn't Paladin get to choose a Deity?
I didn't like Pathfinder WOTR, loved DOS2, will probably love this since it's Larian
Excited
I on the other hand liked OS2 fine, but by far and wide I prefer Wrath.
same
OS2 was more polished, and I liked Sebille and Lohse more than Wrath girls, but overall I prefer Wotr as well.
I say Wendu is superior just because of how romance with her feels. It feels rewarding and peeling away the layers of her character as you get closer to her feels very good and because of that I felt more of a connection there to her. With Sebille and Lohse I have a problem with that their romance just starts where everyone else's does and it doesn't feel very special or like it adds that much. You just get under the ship with companion of your choosing and immediately you are in love. That was off to me. With Wendu it felt pretty real on the other hand.
Someone got the previous designs
First design was the absolute worst I've ever seen. Some afro headed "tiefling"
Don't remind me...
That's just a placeholder. You can make this exact tiefling wit hthe character creator. You people do know what a placeholder is, right?
It was always a placeholder. The fact it had two horns was the giveaway
The early design wasn't reapply a design but just a placeholder using a randon mish mash from the character creator.
Wait was this the random black woman you find injured in the beta?
>No romanceable dragonborn
>No dragonborn party members
>No romanceable goblins
>No romanceable monsters
>Only able to romance the devs' shitty self insert human/tall human/purple human girlboss OCs
>In addition to Larian's infamous capeshit-esque writing
I will not play your troony game.
Didn't they say you could frick your coop partners or was I imagining that? Or maybe it was the coop partner could sleep with an NPC and you could also, or something similar?
>No romanceable dragonborn
You can make your own dragonborn tulpa, though some datamines hinted that she's actually real
>that spoiler
What?
>You can't romance freakshit
Sounds like a win in my book
redpill me on tieflings. I want to play as a non human magic race. Are tieflings good for that?
Yeah, they make great wizards/sorcerers/warlocks, depending on subrace
>redpill me on tieflings
Tieflings are fine.
>inb4 tell me more
What is there to tell? Just look at their stats and see if you can think up a build with them. That's how i choose what i play.
>see racial stats
>think up a fun build i could try
>profit
Here is one of the wikis for the game and links to the 3 tiefling subraces and their bonuses,
https://baldursgate3.wiki.fextralife.com/Asmodeus+Tiefling
https://baldursgate3.wiki.fextralife.com/Mephistopheles+Tiefling
https://baldursgate3.wiki.fextralife.com/Zariel+Tiefling
They are fine conceptually but are ruined a bit by most Tiefling players being awful and the race being considered 'just one of the gang' despite being literal products of hell.
A lot of people don't like them because Tiefling players are very likely to be that guy on the tabletop
I played WOTR, this should be much easier right? That game was hard as balls
Yes, the pathfinder system is quite a bit harder than what you'll have with BG3 unless you play on hardcore
definitely. this is also all turnbased tho. it's not action with pause like wotr.
Can I manifest my tulpa and make them good aligned
t. Oath of Devotion Paladin
Is it worth it to check out the early access content before the full game comes out to prep myself? I've never played a Baldur's Gate game and I'm only getting this because I put about 40 hours into Divinity 2 and I liked it.
You can get about 30 hours from a run so far, but it won’t carry over to full release
>100gb+ install size for 30 hours of game
Frick that shit
Why do people still care about game sizes in 2023
My PC only has 1tb of space
get more then, ssd is cheaper than hdd nowadays
I don't give a damn about Starfield or any other upcoming big releases so I really don't need to update.
Just how big will the full release be? I only have 120GB or so on my M.2...
Mechanically yeah but frick Tieflings
>frick Tieflings
I agree
Hot SEXO with tieflings?
How do they sleep? Do they sleep on their backs?
they sleep with my dick in them, thats how
Yes
Why are all your party members flamboyant homos straight out of some korean boy band in this game?
Larian creative lead is a woman
>Larian creative lead is a woman
They only say that the creative lead is a woman to give off the facade that they're following ESG, the majority of the game is done by white men.
Nah its more like lots of women play this game
At least thats the feeling i get from the subreddit
>Better visuals
>Twice the performance
>Only 2 loading screens per game
How did they do it?
Let's hope it isn't as pozzed as it looks
Playing through IWD right now and it has a lot of bullshit like trolls that can only be killed by fire/acid and a boss required me to have at least +2 modifier weapons. Does 5th edition D&D still have anything like this cause I don't remember the early access having this kind of thing?
>Enemies target squishy mages on hard
Looks like you need to make your ranged characters tanky if you don't want to lose them on first turn. Should I go for 2 armor feats or for high agi?
Keep your distance so enemy fighters can't rush you or you could position well and being out of line of sight so archers can't range you, hide in the shadows untill casting your first dibilitating spell?
Some enemies could ambush you or have teleport spell or combat area could be a small room.
Than you better hope you have high initiative and a cleric in your party.
Does this game still have the Love Interests cuck you because the writers are epic california bearded bald men.
>Space non monogamous frog acts like a space non monogamous frog
>Its da juice!
Cool it with the antisemitism.
I will now buy your game
Love NTR
>play guy with succubus haunting him
>mod him to be white
>???
>betray gay/stronk companions to impregnate my hot succubus wife
She's not a succubus.
Succubi are demons, Minora is a devil, so she's either an erinyes or just a cambion.
Still going to frick her. I'll mod it if I have to.
Well, devils can have sex as well, you don't have to be a semen demon for that.
STOP LIKING EVIL WOMEN!
No
I really hope she is a true romance option, other girls are kinda shit.
I just wonder if she's locked to Wyll, or there's any way you can somehow get Wyll out of his "pact" by entering your own pact yourself.
Never
Good question
Why isn't she red?
She's never been anything other than blue.
Why no xbox version?
Cus xbox is gay and wants parity with xbox S but the console is too weak to run the game in split screen multiplayer. So Larian are delaying the xbox version untill they can make the game working on the weaker S.
Hope they didnt downgrade pc version so the quality is equal to playstation version
You ARE gonna play this game with friends right, Ganker?
Everyone working fricking sucks and makes it a pain though
Yes my friend is literally me so we will have no trouble, although he likes thieving so I'll just turn a blind eye
Warlock or wizard? Pros and cons? All the red pills.
Wizards are gigachads that bend reality through the sheer power of their mind, depend on no one but themselves, except for that shitty goddess Mystra, warlocks are buttslaves of whoever grants them magic powers, and if they anger their patron the powers are taken away and you get a lvl 1 commoner.
Wizard gets more and better spells, but warlock can spam his far more.
Warlock is also charisma based rather than intelligence, so they make for a better party face at the cost of skill checks.
the Chad sorcerer is the better option
I don't know if the circlet will still be available early in full release but there is a int circlet with the 3 trolls. you can max str dex and con and dump int and become a better eldritch knight then the eldritch knight.
I never play these kinds of games but I bought/finished Divinity 2 a couple years ago and liked it. Will I like this?
Probably, it plays similar to that except it has a different ruleset for combat and such. It's still turn based like Divinity and has the same sort of exploration.
Any more data mining spoilers for the last 2 patches?
datamining had slowed down in the last 3 patches now
it looks kinda dogshit
is this game similar to dos2?
It's basically DOS3. It just uses 5e rules instead.
Yes, DoS is basically BG for casuals
You cannot even be evil in BG1 and BG2. BG3 is literally improved game in every single way possible.
>You cannot even be evil in BG1 and BG2
But I slaughtered entire towns in those games?
you can definitely be evil in bg2 what the frick are you talking about
Wut, Solar curses you and says that she loathes to release such a great evil onto the Planes if you go for the god ending with evil alignment.
yeah you can be gay or a troony in bg3
pure evil
And sorcerer? Pros and cons?
Less spells but they can customize their spells and they use charisma
Has a limited set of spells since you can’t learn from scrolls, only levelling, but can use the ones he has in more versatile ways. For example you can extend range, split it into two to hit multiple enemies or avoid hitting allies
Strongest class in the game in current patch EA. If they haven't fixed quickened
strongest by far. also they are a force multiplier. got a hard hitting martial(aka battlemaster or barb)
cast haste! hell twin haste and give them double the attacks and yourself double spell casting opportunity.
>getting out of starfield's way
good
>September 6th for PS5 (Slight delay for 60fps optimizations)
they moved it to that day because it's starfield's release day
microsoft isnt allowing the game on xbox because they dont want to hurt starfield, this is larian's "revenge"
>*Huff!*
Is kineticist a pathfinder thing? I like being able to throw fireballs with no spell slots required.
warlock is the equivalent in d&d
>developer releasing the game a month earlier than planned
Good news for once in this shitty industry
I'll now be able to give it full attention
Can you make a wizard that's proficient in sneaking around?
In the tabletop, yes.
In the game, fricked if I know, because Larian is doing some weird homebrew interpretation of the rules.
Yes?
why wouldnt a wizard be able to. the different lore backgrounds have a sneak proficient one. also pass without a trace is in and as busted as usual.
Does that mean Rogues are going to be game breaking again?
they are kind of ass in this.
a lot of the bonuses action that are exclusive to rouges kind of get baked into everyone at base.
Yeah high elf with urchin background
goblin sex
i'd mating press the frick out of this prostitute.
I'd be like goblinslayer but i frick them.
I don't know, are people really that interested in goblins? Or are they just memeing as usual.
Green women need love too
put the helm back on!!
yep
im into fleshlight women in general so they get a pass.
Half elf chads where we at
is this game good
Yes
yes
Shaping up to be a dream game for DnD nerds
Yes
it's got the most freedom in how you approach different situations of any rpg i've played and it feels really good
Where the frick are my gish classes? Where is Hexblade or Bladesinger?
there better be mods for this
Bard has the only 2 if you don't count half casters
same... why the frick the fey subclass instead of kino hexblade..
There is already a mod for Hexblade, for like a year or so now. I hope that Pact of the Blade gets tuned to be like Hexblade, atleast in the CHA instead of DEX for melee attacks part. Wylls entire character feels wrong when its not a Hexblade
DLCbait.
Will be added in the definitive edition a year later.
>no Bladesinger
whats the point
I`m actually looking forward to this one. I don`t like the companions i`ve seen so far but the char design seems solid at the very least so if i can make mercs that will do. Otherwise the graphics seems pretty damn good and the world design seems lit.
If they annoy you too much you can always kill them.
Is arcane trickster any good? What does it do exactly?
Its a Rogue who gets some amount of spellcasting. The problem is his big thing should be a unique Mage Hand that you can use to lockpick/loot/pickpocket which still isn't implemented correctly and likely won't be.
How much freakshit is too much freakshit, Ganker?
This is just a human with a bit of extra spikes.
gnome feels freakshit.. but if it has a phat ass i might consider them a dnd tenga replacement.
based
githlings are a rare and sexy breed
damn if you can make a merc this semen devil WILL be in my party.
Does she have spikes in pussy, too?
OK I MIGHT buy your game
The announcement made me do one more Early Access run and I haven't touched it in a long time.
They really did make Shadowheart far less b***hy I noticed.
Yep, I'm thinking I'm making a spore druid and becoming living mushroom.
Come here you lil Black person
Sounds like gaming time to me.
dicky won
I need to decide between Pally and Blade Warlock.
Also I wanna know what Lone Wolf gimmick they put in the game.
Blade Warlock isn't in, moron.
Hexblade isn't in, Pact of the Blade is the level 3 pact you take.
Reminder: do NOT make a white male.
I'm warning you.
What if I make an albino tiefling male with they/them pronouns?
Not a male so we'll let it pass. But a darker skin color would be preferred.
Why this game only goes to level 12?
Doesn't dnd 5e go to level 20?
Maybe they don't know what to do with the Wish spell or saving the levels for DLC? But BG2 already did it.
because level 15 in 5e is demi-god tier. It gets stupid.
There is no lone wolf gimmick, I would hope they actually changed how XP works so if you do play alone you level faster. IE you finish a quest and it gives 4K XP. In a full party, its split 1k per. In solo, its 4k for one person.
The way they do it is you finish a quest, it gives 4k XP, but to each party member. So playing solo doesn't level you up faster.
15 is demigod now? Damn, what about all those epic characters with 40 multiclass levels from previous editions?
No one plays to level 20, it's boring
have you played dnd? past a certain level the characters are living gods with ridiculous spells.
also i guess it gives a buffer for any future story they want to tell.
I played solasta, lvl 10 sorcerer highest level spell cone of cold is almost the same thing as a regular low lvl fireball. Same thing with paladin, I've got no crazy improvements from lvl 5 to 10. Same two dmg buffs and hit with smite all game.
Is druid any good?
no. their shapeshift is ass just extra hp bar.
it's strictly a role play class.
>no. their shapeshift is ass just extra hp bar.
moon is really strong
I only hate that if you end combat in wildshape form you stay in that form so if any follow-up dialogue happens it chooses a party member instead of the main character.
It annoys me because I always want my character to speak for the party and build them for that.
in tabletop sure but not in bg3
I would hope they fix the "can't cast spells, even Call Lightning in shapeshift" issue. I can't even call it a bug, it feels intentional at this point.
I'm going to frick the old hag.
Why is she old when Minsc looks the same?
minsc got sucked into a mimic or something and apparently that means he was outside time and didn't age
Ah that's cool I guess. I just wanna get milf Viconia tbh.
I thought he was petrified in Baldur's Gate and people just thought it was a statue.
the minsc announcement trailer was him busting out of a mimic but maybe that was just for fun and the statue thing is right. it certainly makes more sense
Minsc was purposefully petrified until another evil arrived. Jaheira should be dead since she's half-elf, but Druid's get Timeless Body in D&D. Which basically means every 10 years you only age 1 year.
Couldn't they have given us Aerie or Viconia or something? Jaheira is ass and now old as frick too.
Think there's rumours floating that Viconia might make an appearance?
Zero datamining has shown that, but it starts off with a pretty decent Drow focus so its not unlikely. People had assumed Viconia is the leader of the Shadowheart group they were separated from
I want Edwin but not sure how they could make it work.
Either he became a Lich, or body swap
You mean Edwina?
Is she even still alive(canonically) by the BG3 times?
She's drow, so yes, very much alive.
>Matron Viconia
>breasts bigger than ever
>at least twice as hateful and dominating
I thought she was either killed by Lolth's cultists or by sharran instead.
Most unique classes that should translate well to the game?
Never played DnD
Kinda interested in swords bard
Paladin, there's an oath system that turns you into a dark knight if you break it
Swords Bard for being a good spellcaster AND having cool melee shit with his flourishes. Plus being a bard to play music is neat.
Bladrsinger Wizard when they add it
College of swords bard sucks wiener, flourishes are not worth it
Valor is basically better in every way, or lore if you want a spell focused bard
>Jaheira is in the game as a companion
I swear to god if any fricking Harpers try to harass me or get involved with my adventures in any way they are all dead. DEAD.
Same, hate those harper homosexuals. Kill them every chance you get, and considering Zhents are in the game, you'll have the opportunity.
Are there enough spells to make a fun Arcane Trickster? I've never made one before but it seems like there isn't that many illusion or enchantment spells
Please respond, I need help knowing if this class is worth it
is there a good 5e tabletop playthrough i can watch on youtube?
Don't derail the thread, go to /tg/ or some shit
>Le capitalism is evil
This is literally for women
Link a good one then
capitalism was invented by israelites therefore capitalism IS evil
>Brendan Mulligan
Yeah this homie is full into the promotion of troony drag queen shit, no thanks
>cancel culture isnt real!
kek
Who are you quoting? You do indeed get cancelled for supporting pedophilia
>fat black woman
dropped.
Dragonborn bros, we're going home!
Holy shit they look badass.
WHAT THE FRICK?!?!
he looks based af.
I will roleplay as a racist dragonborn that cucks the fleshy lesser life forms
Larian know their dragons and lizards.
Ludo despite the neck clipping. Think I'm gonna go with a dragonborn warrior poet bard.
dragonborn and orc heads are too big, they look like flesh helmets
Looks like Divinity Original Sin for some reason
Oh hey, this actually looks good. I was worried we would get something like the shit from Solasta.
>The twitter acreencap posting moron is nowhere to be seen ITT
lol what happened? Did he an hero? Did the announcement push him over the edge?
Probably sleeping
Obese NEETs need sleep too
Hopefully.
Is he the same guy that always posts the joke post about the generic adventurer composite white male and claims Larian were freaking out about it?
If so he was in threads earlier, might be sleeping.
>Did the announcement push him over the edge?
How does this announcement stop Larian from being pozzed?
>no Variant Human
Damn, i was gonna play Monk 10/Wizard 2 if this was available
you can just get a mod for an extra feat
also have they even confirmed if multiclassing is a thing?
I vaguely remember them saying it would be available on launch but i guess we'll still have to see
Yes, they confirmed in the playstation blog.
Is it worth it immersing myself with dnd 5e before release?
If anyone's wondering, here's Matt Mercer's Minsc voice:
https://twitter.com/Wizards_DnD/status/1603097080532271104
He's not bad, he's clearly trying to pay respects to Cummings' version. I don't mind it actually though I'd rather they just used Jim.
Friendly reminder that you'll be able to pirate this day 1 thanks to the GOG release.
I'll play with a bunch of friends so I'll have to buy it..
That sucks
I buy all the games i like.
>inb4 why?
It should be obvious. It keeps the studios I like alive and producing more games i like. I've been buying Larian games for over 20 years now and i'm glad that a lot of people like me have been doing this because if it weren't for people buying the early divinity games we would've never gotten to the point where Larian could make Divinity:Original Sin 2 and Baldur's Gate 3. So this is my advice to zoomers. Buy the games you like. I am still sad that not enough people bought ECHO and the studio died before giving us more great games.
I don't like Larian so I'll just pirate it.
individuals choices dont matter
>larian writing
>turn based
>5e
wont even bother pirating this shit.
ill just replay Baldurs Gate 2 and IWD 1+2 for a thousandth time and fun super fun doing it.
Yeah turn based is bad and 5e is pozzed but I'll still probably pirate
>"Turn based bad!"
>Mfw people actually prefer buffing up for 15 mins, charging in to auto attack, and reloading the game until you get lucky with crits and win
Turn based becomes tedious if the devs create too many trash packs, but otherwise it's clearly the best of the two. Being able to shift between turn based and realtime is obviously best but that's something that just recently came and worked well in Path of the Righteous. Real time & parties forces your abilities to be much less interesting since there's no way to strategically use them for all your characters since combat is so fast. Typically you just buff up, start with a fireball/CC, and let the encounter autoresolve itself with maybe a heal being thrown meanwhile which is very boring.
a lot of turn based games condense the trash mobs into a single entity in the turn order which speeds things up a lot while still giving you the satisfaction of cleaving through weaklings
don't think bg3 does that though
BG3 does do that on fights that have alot of enemies. Not every single combat encounter, but any of the ones with a ton of enemies.
>turn based game RPG
>save scum critical hits
oh man i remember save scumming Fallout 1 and 2 so hard.
turn based games really are only for the moronicest of all the morons.
this but also the hit rate was kind of garbage to begin with in bg3 early access. now it's a ton better than before. I was tempted to do a playthru before launch but frick it ima just wait.
>moron spends 15 minutes wasting the wizard whole spellbook to buff all party memebers everytime he spots a group of goblins
>rtwp fan is a moron frogposter
What a surprise
so i want to be a warlock while keeping gale in the party, alongside lae'zel and shadowheart for first playthrough
whats gunna be a solid build that will not feel like im invalidating anyones slot, while also being substantially impactful?
Fiend Warlock so you get 2 fireballs every short rest and you can Darkness + Devil's Sight to 1vX homies if they arent grouped up. If you pick warlock you will be taking Wyll's slot no matter patron you choose so i wouldnt worry too much
what should i do with gale? in EA i avoided warlock so i could play it at launch without feeling burnt out, so i ended up making gale capable of using fireball and don't know what i should have him focus on instead if i'm gunna be doing that.
You literally cannot go wrong with more fireballs. That being said, they're adding the other 6 wizard schools on launch so you can have him take one of those instead of the standard Evocation
haste for twice the eldritch blasts and glyph of warding for control
How's pact of the tome warlock? I want to be a ranged robed blaster bringing destruction wherever I go
It gives you extra cantrips on the class that already gets the best cantrip in all of 5e
tome allows you to pick some additional cantrips from any class. So you won't necessarily blast better but you can blast in nearly every flavour.
Lads, invite me to the discord pls
huh?
The shitposters are waking up
OP runs a BG3 fan server. He invited a bunch of people to it last thread
no he doesnt?
Yes he does, he's linked it on the 'dex too. He's from Sydney so he's probably asleep atm
I am the OP and I do not run that Discord server. I just wanted a BG3 thread.
Okay fair enough. He usually makes threads a little earlier anyway
Discord is for zoomers even more so than Ganker. I tried going to a few servers but i feel ancient.
As a fan of the Baldurs Gate games i honestly cant find even 1 reason to buy BG3.
Seeing it beeing shilled so hard on this board makes me just sad.
BG3 doesnt seem to have any redeeming qualities at all.
What a god damn shame, i really would like to play an actual new Baldurs Gate game, not DoS 3.
Just pretend it's D:OS3 and it'll be fine
i hated DoS2 so fricking much, i didnt even finish it.
pretending its DoS3 would be just as bad.
oh well.
im off to make a new BG2 run.
this time ill be a..... bard.
BG2 sucks though, get some taste.
no u.
i still don't get it, how absolutely fricking zealous you people are about bg3 but then hate every other game in the series, i mean not liking 1 and 2 are one thing but to get this mad about people daring to like them like it is a personal attack to you or 3 its crazy
hell yeah brother, i still want to do a blade bard run myself
You don't play videogames. You complain about them here, now frick off.
I though shilling and spam was not allowed?
Black person, is jsut Baldurs gate in name, watch the game on youtube, is just Divinity 3, that's it, from UI, garbage companions, shitty story to gameplay and spells effects, they jerk off for almost 5 years in the making of this "new" game, but larian drones have no tastes, you can tell from this thread alone.
Worst thing about this game is dnd mechanics. I played solasta and it's boring as shit after dos2. I kinda wish larian did RTWP now since all you do is auto attack with melee characters and only do one spell per turn anyway.
No wonder the thread turned to shit, the codextrannies woke up. How does it feel to know that Larian mogs your boomer trash to hell and back?
Yeah it was nice while it lasted I guess.
It is not fair to call them boomers. I am 46 and i love Baldur's Gate 3.
I'm so glad Ganker stays away from there. It's one of the last good places to discuss games
It's just perpetually asshurt boomers seething over games and calling each other homosexuals.
It's just like Ganker.
It's just a bunch of guys with good taste. Not much else to it
>People hating every game that doesn't cater to them directly is good discussion
Fricking lmao
Why does this game attract asshurt schizos?
Americans can’t handle Euro-Australian hours and are compelled to shit up any thread made in that sweet spot
From what i remember when /vint/ was a thing it was Canadians and Australians that are the biggest shitposters. Americans mostly stuck to Nintendo or weeb threads together with Brazillians. RPG threads were made mostly by Europeans(and i mean the whole of Europe since i remember that Gothic threads were made by German flags and the VTMB thread was made by a Bulgarian flag).
t.someone who's been lurking here for ages
I tried playing BG1 in anticipation but it's ancient and feels like ass to play.
Plus 2e sucks.
Divinity: Original Sin III
BG3 >>> BG2 >BG1
real
That is true but it is not fair to BG2 and BG1. There are a lot of things that would simply be impossible for older computers to handle. BG2 and BG1 are good games for the time they came out. BG3 is better but is also coming out 20 years later.
keep telling yourself that, swen
Why would Codexers hate BG3 anyway? It's an actual RPG with choices and consequences and a crazy amount of player agency in general.
i want a good and fun bg3.
i honestly dont give a flying frick on what rule edition it would be based on.
i just dont want larian to be making it.
>they are
wont even pirate it.
people who still post on codex are like 40+ and sour
i also love the huge amount of agency in bg3, definitely my favorite part
Because it's none of those things?
It literally is.
Have you even played it? I have.
Yes, I have. It's nothing special—a par for the course AAA RPG. There are indie titles out there with better C&C, reactivity and combat than it. It's big and flashy and that's about it
Codex hates anything that isn't rtwp
And rightly so. RTwP is king
RTwP is gay af. just make it an action game at that point.
>non linear quests, tons of options and freedom
>implying
>only casters can be good
>fricking boring
>spam pause to break the game
You're just a nostalgia obsessed geezer
It's inherently more tactical and has a higher skill ceiling. Get filtered
How? All you used to do was do monster summoning as a meat shield and then unpause the game.
>RTwP is inherently more tactical
>rtwp
>more tactical
lmfao
In a perfect bubble, I agree. In the video game space where AI is limited and abuseable, frick no. Every single RTwP game has allowed for summons to frick with the AI and make them waste shit. You generally need to mod it to make them difficult/actually use the mechanics of the system
Black person all you ever had to do in RTwP Baldur's Gate was tell your warriors to auto-attack whatever you wanted dead and occasionally use a spell/item to buff them with an effect that nullified anything the enemy could do to stop them. That was it. That was the entire game.
Play a newer RTwP game, moron
>letting you freeze the game and queue up the perfect action at the press of a button
>More tactical
Rtwp is easy mode for the geriatrics who play those games
>only casters can be good
t.never played BG2
RTwP was literally a marketing stunt to trick normalgays into buying crpgs
Kys casual scum
>RTwP is king
Yes, but degenerated soi zoomers, boomers with declining motor motor skills and bad gamers hate it.
One can only hope that turn-based trash will be gone for good after DOS3 ("BG3") flops.
>One can only hope that turn-based trash will be gone for good after DOS3 ("BG3") flops.
It's too late for that. The game has already sold well and will probably sell even better come August.
The people who were going to buy it already have. The fact they released it on console will mean even more sales.
>between 2 million and 5 sales
>only 50k played on steam somehow
Did the rest bough and give it back or what ? hahaha, such a loser you are. The people who want it already bought it, normal gays don't play this type of games, especially in that month when Starfield and AC will launch. so keep shilling, maybe larian will give you a bone
Plenty of normalgays bought and played Divinity. Keep seething.
and 900k people bough and actually played Elden ring, instead of 2milion bough it and only 50k played it, your opinon now ? have a nice day
Do you think that everyone has to play a game at the same time?
People with degenerated motor skills hate the mode that lets you freeze the game and have infinite reaction time to any situation? Are you moronic?
You don't get it. If he's good at RTwP then he's good at skills in life and is not a loser
>RTwP is king
If BG3 had real-time combat like the originals, then we could do dungeon runs with friends - kind of like in Diablo.
Not to mention that the DOS turn-based combat fanbase is tiny compared to the real-time combat fanbase... But alas, Swen (woke Larian CEO) is a complete fricking moron.
moronic contrarians. I know some people like this irl, they are driven by nostalgia and replay random shit from childhood even if it's objectively not that good. It's' funny how often thay can't articulate why "new game bad" and I like to watch them struggle to find a reason to hate. You'd think that a turn based crpg game with great graphics, engine, dialogue, non linear quests, tons of options and freedom, coop hand crafted world would make any boomer hard, It's literally a game made by white European rpg boomers specifically for boomers, but they hate it anyway.
>made by white European rpg boomers specifically for boomers
That's call Iron Tower Studios
D:OS2 was like 5$ on gogputin and I had a blast playing it, this costs 25$ so it will be 5 times the fun! Finally we can meet Boo again :3
Why yes I am playing as a straight white male human fighter.
Go berserker my dude, it's kinda like fighter except cool.
But I am cool as a cucumber.
What type of fighter? What starting passive?
>Archery
>Defence
>Duelling
>Great Weapon Fighting
>Protection
>Two-Weapon Fighting Style
What subclass at lvl 3?
>Battle Master
>Eldritch Knight
>Champion
What perk at lvl 4? What about further down the line? DEX or STR? Maybe a MEME build with an INT or WIS fighter? When you say ''Why yes I am playing as a straight white male human fighter.'' that means jack shit.
isn't champion dogshit?
They should have added rune knight
Kind of. With the game going to level 12 this is what you get from champion, assuming they don't add or change anything
>crits on a roll of a 19
>longer running jumps
>half your proficiency bonus (rounded up) on STR, DEX, and CON checks that you aren't proficient in
>an additional fighting style
It's certainty the least exciting option
no way... does it get any combat maneuvers like battle master?
No. It's an extremely boring subclass that I can't imagine anyone ever taking in this or tabletop outside of RP purposes.
Should've added the Echo Knight
>can make a magical projection of yourself on the battlefield
>can swap places with the echo
>can attack with the echo
>can make attacks of opportunity with the echo
and that's all just at level 3, an incredibly cool subclass
Yeah this seemed fun af tbh. and would translate well to ingame mechanics.
No.*
*: one fighting style lets you select a maneuver.**
**: maneuvers ARE the Battlemaster mechanic. Why would you think another subclass would get them?
But every martial could use combat maneuvers in previous editions. What happened?
5E happened. Obviously.
You can use manuvers if you get the proper feat for it.
cause I couldn't believe the crit crap was ALL this class had when hold person/hideous laughter etc grants auto crits already.
>isn't champion dogshit?
Champion is not currenly available for early access so i have not tried it for myself but Larian are clearly willing to change the pen%paper classes if they find them to be lacking. They literally anounced tha they'll be drastically changing monks to make them as good as the other classes in the game. So BG3 is Larian's homebrew of 5e and we don't know how many improvements there will be added for the final version and i do mean improvements. I love the things they added to weapons.
>They literally anounced tha they'll be drastically changing monks to make them as good as the other classes in the game.
Thank fricking god. Monk is always the worst or second worst class in every edition.
oh yeah that's true.
but they havent done a thing to help rouges and they have been kinda shit since the start.
and once we hit level 5 they have been far behind the curve.
>help rouges
With what? Rogues destroy if build properly. I literally play turn based Hitman while clearing the goblin camp with my rogue without any of the enemies noticing.
Real? they felt under powered as heck. sneak attack just doesn't scale as hard as GWM and auto crits.
Just make sure that you do it sinchronized with your party and a nice composite bow. Also make sure that you have dark vision for the dark parts. Ambush attacks are great in BG3.
Imagine wanting RTwP hahahaha fricking old geezers
RIP Ganker
Is this the Baldur's Gate that's really slow and turn-based? I thought I saw some footage like that last year. Encounters just looked very drawn out.
yes, its not an arpg like diablo
i think i got 10,000 hours in both Baldurs Gate and Icewind Dale games, because they were so fricking fun to play.
>change combat to turn based out of curiosity, just to see how it plays
i woke up the next day in a hospital.
the doctor told me i almost died from inhuman levels of boredom.
the boredom was so heavy, my body couldnt take it and almost shut down completely, almost killing me in the process.
remember, guys! dont risk your life, never play turn based RPG games.
Did that get a lot of upvotes wherever you first posted it?
>shadow dragon fight in BG2, RTWP
>fast orchestral music blasting while your entire team is being flung across the fricking room by a roaring dragon in real time
>holy shit this is exciting and fun as frick
now lets make the same shadow dragon fight, but now its turn based:
>loud fast orchestral music is blasting while everybody stands still, not doing anything, paralysed
>minsc is looking around, bored
>edwin is digging inside his nose with his finger, waiting for his turn
>1 character makes a sword swing animation, and then goes back to being paralysed, everybody else just standing there, doing nothing
>i fall asleep for inhuman levels of boredom
You skipped the 20 minutes of summoning and pre-buffing in RTwP, and then having everyone stand around doing nothing as you move the summons into position.
more like a minute.
maybe 2, if i wanna frick around and set traps.
based
and guess what.
it was still ten trillion time more exciting that dogshit BG3 turn based gameplay.
>shadow dragon fight in BG2
>stealth Yoshimo and have him set traps at the Dragon's feet, it doesn't aggro or notice somehow
>even better if your character is a thief of some type
>exit room, rest
>do it again
>initiate combat
>all traps go off killing the dragon so fast it takes awhile for the game to catch up and it actually dies
Amazing.
You omitted the part where you spend 1/3 of the fight buffing, 1/3 of the fight paused so you can micromanage spells and the last third watching your teammates auto attack it. It might as well be turn based at this point you homosexual
turn based obssesed kids are such a sissies, not a surprise they won't play anything else, they would get raped in a real time game, not taking into account multiplayer games
>they would get raped in a real time game
and you wouldn't? Which is why you have that real-time pause button right? Develop some awareness you ESL fsggot
>precast buffs
>stealth the whole party so you have advantage on unknown battles coming up
>ohshit.gif
>spam summoning spells and/or defense breaking spells
>attack
>rinse, repeat
Epic bro... meanwhile turn-based games allow for planning to go into battles and many options for dealing with enemies along with actual strategies.
pre buffing is one of the things i hated about Pathfinder. but the angelbook merge was kino af.
yeah the developer of BG3 was falling asleep from boredom on the first live reveal of the game.
it was a hilarious shit-show.
imagine making a game so god damn fricking slow and boring, you are falling asleep from boredom while playing your own game.
what a fricking circus.
Encounters in Larian games are more drawn out because it's turn based, but they are also more sparse and thought out. Encounter design in most rtwp games is just endless waves of trash every 5 steps in a dungeon.
is turn based CRPG, you would fall asleep after a while, while big encounters with 20 enemies or more would take half a hour or more, but i guess is okay for larian drones
Shill this game to me. I want to be convinced into dropping $90 to buy this. I've already bought GTA5, DMC5 and Nier this summer sale.
>dropping $90 to buy this
see
90$ jesus no game is worth that, maybe for 60$ i could, but even though this game is gunna be twice as big as DoS2 and more fun with friends, its not worth more than 60$ anon, just pirate it and play solo at that point.
Why are people pretending it hasn't been out for 2+ years?
Because it hasnt
Can we have the chair?
too overpowered
It’s not the fan module that used that, so no
but it is official
"Official" the whole Wizards company has been dead for a decade in terms of lore etc. Another company killed by woke/inclusion bullshit despite being a platform where you can literally be whoever you want to be.
but it is official
I know. I just meant that the D&D scene has been destroyed by the woke culture.
you are just being hateful
The chair is actually broken, everyone would use it, not just disabled people
this is so weird to me.
>play fantasty game
>roleplay a cripple
actually.. that might be funny
Can't lower level Cleric spells literally fricking heal paralysis assuming you still have your limbs attached? The frick is the point of this?
>larian game
so playing melee will be a miserable experience, right?
It will, because this is 5e and wotc hates martials
Guess I'll just sit there spamming Eldritch Blast to kill Black folk instead
Death knights were kino in do:2
warrior+necromancer+poly was beautiful, SOVL MAX
it was, it just felt like such a gigachad playstyle.
rip and carnage thru everything.
Pillars 2 RTwP is better than what Larian are doing with turn-based in BG3. Sad but true. Sawyer won.
I want to be a special snowflake OC donut steel
Choose a race and class / subclass for me
dragonborn, necromancer
Lmao looks like the schizo woke up in the other thread
Looks like they all woke up since this thread went from comfy game discussion to absolute shit in an instant.
bought the game in EA back in 2020, played for 100 hours, touched once in a while when a new class came out
literally game of the year for me (and before some zeldagays come crying, i dont mean the award)
Are you me? Difference is that i bought the game on GOG.
trust the CEO he knows this market
Took you long enough, bot.
Jasbot and Noldorgay run rings around your slow ass.
Invite me to the discord you frick
Are Warlocks still the kings of BG3?
>kings
Never were. They are just consistent as hell. Sorcerers are kings, or Barbarian/Fighter. You can Quicken full spells in BG3, so you can Double fireball as a Sorc for example. Haste works on a full action in BG3, so instead of level 5
>Attack twice with one action
>haste allows you to attack a single extra time
You get
>Attack twice with one action
>haste gives another full action meaning two more attacks
Martials feel pretty powerful as a result plus Barbs get Relentless Attack
Sorcerer drow it is then. Double the unique interactions and an OP class.
>You can Quicken full spells in BG3
I'm pretty sure this is wholly unintended and will be patched if it hasn't been already
Its been in for like a year, its absolutely homebrew intended.
If that is indeed the case, that is grossly overpowered.
Do they just have the most utility or what? I dunno shit about the newer, cucked editions of d&d - what's the most giga DPS class if I usually just cast Haste on everyone and go a-slaughterin'? Still Kensai?
Racists aren't welcome in the BG3 community.
too bad chud.
I will be racist to any and all Black folk AND YTS
DRAGON GANG RISE UP!
any idea if we'll be able to play as the party members but customize them so we're not lame ass wyll?
Playable origin characters are defo I felt in, as for customising them OS2 let you, so probably
nice
yes but he's also a loser on top of that
You mean black?
I mean, if it's some powerful geezer wizard or someone with great knowledge, having him come along would make sense in certain scenarios. It might be even interesting scenario to have one player in a wheelchair be able to interact with the dungeon mechanisms, and the rest of the party having to compensate for his limited movement.
Is this an rpg with fun gameplay (DoS2) or tedious gameplay (Pathfinder wotr)
It plays a lot like DoS2.
You'll feel right at home with how exploration and combat plays out.
if i start playing this game now, will the save carry forward to the full release?
Sadly no
bad feels, man
I just hope at some point there will be a massive battle. I want the defense of Helm's Deep in turnbased form dammit
Have you considered playing King Arthur Knight's Tale? It has quite a lot of enemies for a TBT game. Not helms deep levels obviously
Funnily enough I was looking at that 10 minutes ago. Might pick it up with the sale.
I really liked it. But when I beat the final boss a new act started that I'm pretty sure is an endgame added later, which I was not enjoying. What I assume is the regular campaign was very fun. Don't bother with the ranger class btw, and don't have neutral morality. You get more bonuses if you go all in
If you aggro the whole Goblin camp you will get to fight a nice big bunch of Goblins.
U guys doing any runs before the release in 1 month? i did 3 or 4 runs last year, thinking if i should refresh my mind about the state of the game rn or if i should go ''fresh''
>i did 3 or 4 runs last year
? You know its only Arc 1 right? it takes less than 20 hours to finish that
Nope, but I'm watching Lodoss right now.
i wanted to. I played a ton on release of early access but didn't keep up with each revision. so i know there is a ton of act 1 content i havent accessed like the under dark stuff or the anvil stuff. I just dont know what ima play.. i wanted to do a gish type or a strong caster that can be in melee like a cleric?
I do hope there's a mod that lets you skip the beginning at some point.
I've seen the fricking Illithid Ship enough times already.
How evil can you be in this game?
you basically have the agency to do most anything. you can murder everyone, you can stealth or speech past everyone, you can basically join the antagonists and do their bidding either in a pretend sabotaging way or in a legitimate do what they say way and the game is written to support all of that
if the rest of the game follows the depth of the early access areas it will be amazing
That actually sounds amazing
Oh right, I didn't realize that EA was still only the partial game. We'll see then I guess.
Even Tyranny was extremely disappointing in what it let you do, but somehow I still hope even a single CPRG would get it right.
Tyranny wasn't nearly as bad as people make it out to be to this day, the only valid criticism I've heard is that it shipped in an incomplete state, and even that is fixed now.
Sequel bait ending soured me because there will never be a sequel.
Yeah I still liked it, I just meant the evil options were lacking.
It's modern Wotc cuck and Larian, expect "funny evil" and so "omg edgy omg evil".
>module is about going to hell where people are being tortured and killed non stop
>archmage that teleports your there is an otter because he likes to be an otter
cringe is the soul of D&D now
isnt lulu zariels old mount or something?
i did a cursory wiki reading. we're really gunna be dealing with her eventually huh.
god i hope they add aasimars playable.
Yes
and my favorite part:
You actually have to hug the thing and pet it to win the game
I am playing this module (pirated) with my 30+ year old group. Shitting on the story left and right. But holy shit I laughed so hard with this part. They hated it.
I'd unironically rather play F.A.T.A.L. over this trash.
Fatal’s magical realm isn’t even the bad part; that’s the mind bogglingly moronic numbers.
complex systems equals complex characters
5e was literally made to please the midwit and the masses
if you like it, well... sorry about your Int level bro
Shut up and roll that 4d20 for your anal circumference after that troll assault.
oh man if you think that is bad, Tomb of Annihilation and its nine trickster cringe gods was quite something
So far, not counting the murderhobo options, you can lead a group of fanatics to slaughter refugees, sell out someone to a hag, kill a myconid colony to get some shows from an escaped slave and prevent a slave rebellion
You can side with a cult of goblins and help them slaughter a bunch of druids and tiefling refugees alongside a hot racist drow woman
How does Wyll react to that?
Does he frick off from your party if you take that route?
I always end up killing him in the raid so I don’t know.
You have to pass a persuasion check to keep Gale from walking off, too.
can you betray the goblins before they commit to the assault? i always wanted to do some chaotic good bullshit by leading them to the druids grove and then immediately killing them all but the dialogue options made me think if you lead them there, you're committed to being on their side.
Yes, you get a unique scene for siding with the goblins, then warning the grove and fighting alongside the druids/tieflings
>can you betray the goblins before they commit to the assault?
Yes, in fact if you want you can take the time to hoist as many explosives or flammable liquids to spill around to the front gate of the druid encampment and side with the goblins all the way up to the point where they amass in front of said gate to commit the actual assault and then light them all the frick up. Personally, I like skipping the assault entirely by walking into the encampment doomslayer-style and cutting a path to all of the cult leaders and coming back to the druid grove residents bewildered to find out all the siege preparation went totally unneeded.
Best subclass for wizard (that is available in the game)?
A dnd 5e game with this level of depth only works if its turn based
Anything elae and they'd need to change the very core of the game
you mean this one?
can't change reality homosexual
devs are gays
>hides like a b***h until page 10 because he got bullied in a different thread
Jesus Christ that’s even more pathetic
cant escape from reality homosexual
The reaity that the game itself has zero pozz. Obsessed moron lmao
>the WRITER personal obsessions will not be in the game
lmao
He's only one of many writers, moron
It must make you seethe that you’re forced into a thread that dying too quickly for you to samegay based to all your posts
AND vaxxer
>butts butts, I love butts
He seems pretty based.
He meant man butts.
what about swashbuckler? i want a saber, a moustache and a funny hat
OP here just wanted to say before the thread dies thanks for having a nice thread with actual discussion for once most of the way through.
Since the morons are awake now it'll probably be the last one of the day.
It was fun.
We should just get a general on /vg/.
