Did they finally add different body shapes for the player or the party members? Not gonna play as a b-cup lanklette or a manlet with 0 muscle definition.
Its actual game armor, for an NPC that isn't in the game IIRC. Its datamined and thrown in. All the coomer stuff is stuff in the game, with layers taken off or combined with other stuff. You can't make original outfits yet.
Still not known.
Hoping for gobbo girls, dragonborn girls, Orc girls, tabaxi girls...etc.
My human warrior needs to breed all the non human women in the game.
They are trying to tone it down, but it still does bleed into the game, because you can't teach an old dog new tricks.
Larian is still incapable of writing natural-sounding dialogues, so everybody just vomits pages of exposition at each other in this weirdly flamboyant manner.
Humour has been a staple of Larian games for a long time. Unfortunately, BG3 is a lot more serious and lacking in this aspect. Creates a more soulless game.
Because it shows the direction entire game is going for.
Have you seen the cringeworthy gay homosexual twitter writing with sex scenes? Typical Larian cringe shit.
I'm glad to see Larian experiencing so much success if for no other reason than because I can tell it irritates some of the most obnoxious anons on this board.
If you're a genuine newbie asking genuine newbie questions then you shouldn't be offended you're told to frick off every now and then, or you could try a different phrasing. Like "Hey guys does this game have any cute waifus?!" (leave out the part where you hate freakshits) or something similar, baiting the waifugays and their folder of 400 pictures.

So what kind of offspring does a human/half elf couple have anyway?
A half-elf. It will technically always be a half-elf mechanically, until your blood becomes so diluted you breed a human, because coming up with the rules for 1/18-elf is moronic.

BG3 is supposed to be 75-100 hours long, DOS2 was ~70 hours and only had six companions. Given how much of that playtime was the very slow turn based combat I can't see BG3 have 10-15 companions it would need to meet all the different alignments you might choose unless they're mostly bland mercenaries.

It's a moron who used to be a gaming "journalist" and is now working as a writer for Larian.
There will be no buyers remorse because outside of entirely altering the game past act 1, I can't see additional shit upsetting me that much. I will have fun and I will continue to purchase games I like and have fun with.
what? those sites that upload gog stuff dont do it immediately. I had to wait for weeks for them to upload a fricking patch for solasta. For baldurs gate 3 i just used a russian vpn in 2020 and bought it for less than 10 so i can avoid this patch shit
The one thing these games need is good companions with interesting stories and personalities, and I don't trust millennials to write satisfying characters to save their lives, my own fricking generation, the one that was raised on absolute slop like harry potter.
That sucks. I guess I just love to immerse myself in the story/world.
BG3 doesn't have much to do with the previous two games, both story-wise and gameplay-wise, so you'll be find to just jump it. You can always pirate it day 1 as well if you're unsure
I post things like that in these threads often because as much as I know there are many youtube essays etc I know there are always loregays that love a chance to spoonfeed and dump their knowledge so I'm happy to enable it
The lore of Forgotten Realms is (or rather was) actually pretty rich and interesting, the problem is that Larian doesn't give a frick and WotC has trashed it several times over at this point.
And Ganker knows frick all about it, so they just keep memeing.

>Larian doesn't give a frick and WotC has trashed it

On the Larian side: The entire main plot with a superspecial tadpole is just stupid, because that's not how things work in lore, and every flimsy excuse they provide you with make it even dumber. Like "The Dead Three are behind illithids". It's like saying "Santa Claus is behind BLM" It kinda doesn't compute.
On the WotC side: 4e was supposed to "reboot" the Forgotten Realms, by trashing it and everybody hated it, so 5e was meant to deboot FR, to get the fandom back... and then few years later, WotC rebooted it again, just stealthily. It's a mess.
Anonymous
They haven't provided any flimsy excuses, they've simply said the tadpole has been altered in some way yet to be revealed. What you're saying doesn't make any sense.
Anonymous
And now you have a tadpole that does the exact opposite of what the tadpole is supposed to be doing. And the cult of the Absolute (aka Dead Three) are putting those tadpoles into their followers, which is suicidally moronic.
Why are you going through all this insane trouble with tadpoles and illithids, who are unreliable as frick, when you can just put a geas on your followers? Why even do that to your followers anyway? This doesn't benefit the cult in any way.
Anonymous
>you have a tadpole that does the exact opposite of what the tadpole is supposed to be doing
Yes, that's the central mystery of the story, not some deviation from the lore. The abnormality of the situation is the whole point.
>Why, who, etc.?
We don't know yet, the story hasn't been told. I'll generously assume that the mystery set up in the first half of act 1 isn't left unresolved and unaddressed when the credits roll.
Anonymous
This story shouldn't happen anyway, because it's creating a mystery from the pieces that don't fit. And I don't think Larian is smart enough and knowledgable about lore enough to make it work. They are taking Dead in Thay and replacing Thayans with illithids, when illithids make no sense in this context. It's as if Larian wanted to make a story about illithids, WotC wanted to make a story about Bhaal, so they mushed the two ideas together and hoped for the best. >I'll generously assume that the mystery set up in the first half of act 1 isn't left unresolved and unaddressed when the credits roll.
Reminder that this is the writing team that introduced a main villain during the final bossfight with no foreshadowing.
Anonymous
Why don't they fit? They seem like they fit pretty well so far.
>introduced a main villain during the final boss fight with no foreshadowing
I've only played DOS and DOS2, I assume that must have happened in an earlier game.
Anonymous
>Why don't they fit?
Because illithids are a literal hivemind aliens who have better shit to do then creating superpecial tadpoles for some human cult. They are kinda above that shit. It like you trying to contact aliens so that they fix your car.
Anonymous
There's no evidence they created the tadpoles FOR the cult. The illithid ship is already littered with dead illithids before the ship is actually attacked. There is very likely more to it than you're seeing.
Anonymous
So then there is a mother of all coincidences that those tadpoles work so well on the cultists, because otherwise, you are potentially turning your own people into illithids for no reason.
Anonymous
>coincidences
Is it? Do we know that? Do we know what's going on? I don't think we do.
Anonymous
I mean, tadpoles are supposed to turn you into illithids. That is LITERALLY their only function. If you are putting tadpoles into your cultists you: either want to turn them into illithids and kill you, you explicitly know those tadpoles work different somehow, which begs the question why would an illithid create a tadpole that doesn't do what the tadpole is supposed to do, or you are just moronic and hope you somehow luck out in this one in a billion chance that the tadpole is not doing what its supposed to do.
Anonymous
>you explicitly know those tadpoles work different somehow
probably this one >which begs the question why would an illithid create a tadpole that doesn't do what the tadpole is supposed to do
we don't know that they did, but regardless, I'm sure we'll find out. I don't think Larian not giving the ending away in the opening scenes of the game is proof enough that they discarded the lore or fricked something up. The story is a mystery, the fact that its mysterious isn't a sign that Larian forgot something.
Anonymous
You take is that Larian is misteriously going to provide a satisfactory answer.
My take is that they won't, because they've already objectively written themselves into a corner.
I want to have your naivete/idealism, but Larian are not known for their clever stories and somehow I don't think they'll be able to justify "Bhaal-made magical tadpoles from Netheril" very well. Especially when there are much easier ways to deliver this story.
Anonymous
>objectively written themselves into a corner
They haven't though. Every time you've been asked to explain this, its always some off kilter assumption, or taking odd things that the characters themselves mention and presenting them like oversights or impossibilities.
Anonymous
To add to this, Tadpoles literally cannot survive without eating brains. Illithids cannot survive without eating brains. Tadpoles aren't even intelligent until after they've eaten their first brain and taken control of and mutated the host body, THEN been taught. It literally makes zero sense for Illithids to be doing this, or for any other race to be doing this with Illithid Tadpoles.
The only way for this plot element to make any kind of sense is if what is thought to be a Tadpole isn't actually a Tadpole at all, but something else, but that doesn't track since it was on an Illithid spelljammer and being implanted by Illithids.
I know enough that "this doesn't make sense! we should all have transformed by now!" is repeatedly highlighted by the characters themselves after approximately 10 minutes. So why are you repeating this argument like this is evidence Larian are idiots who never bothered reading a page of lore? EVERYONE knows the lore, or is introduced by it when they actually play the game.
>EVERYONE knows the lore
Apparently Larian doesn't, because this isn't how Illithid biology or their life cycle works. I guarantee you there's going to be a retcon for Illithids involved for Larian's game.
Here's a quick breakdown of how it works. >Illithids appear and are thought to have traveled from the future >Illithid Elder Brain forms center of Illithid society >Tadpoles try to exist in Elder Brain pool and avoid getting eaten by it until maturity >Surviving Tadpoles extracted from the pool by other Illithid and implanted in a suitable host (mostly humanoids, but can be placed in dragons and beholders, among others) >Tadpole immediately and within hours consumes and replaces the host brain >Tadpole takes control of the host body and mutates it into a new Illithid >Illithid is inducted into society and taught by other Illithid >Illithid must consume cerebrospinal fluid and psionic energy to stay alive (the Tadpole/Brain doesn't produce cerebrospinal fluid, which needs replinishment, and psionic energy is part of their 'diet') >Illithid dies and their collective experiences are absorbed by the Elder Brain >If an Ulitharid, can split off from an enclave and form their own, potentially becoming a new Elder Brain
There is no room in this for Larian's plot to work. The Tadpole MUST consume the brain to survive.

Illithids don't do magic, there are some that do, but these are rogues and they are rare. You would never see an Elder Brain involved in anything magical, which you need to produce Tadpoles. Precisely because it's something familiar to the CHARACTERS OF THE STORY THEMSELVES. It's a problem immediate, understandable, universally known as Very Bad Thing that gives them incentive to seek a solution and perhaps uncover who's behind this for the more heroic.

>Astral Raiders. The githyanki despise all other races, undertaking devastating raids that take them from their strongholds in the Astral Plane to the far-flung corners of the multiverse. War is the ultimate expression of githyanki culture, and their pitiless black eyes know no mercy. After a raid, they leave shattered survivors enough food and resources to weakly endure. Later, the githyanki return to their conquered foes, plundering them again and again. >Because the githyanki strike to plunder rather than conquer, raiders linger over their target for no more than a few hours. By daybreak the attackers are gone, purposely leaving behind enough survivors to rebuild the ruined community — so that the githyanki might visit the place years or decades later and lay it low all over again.

It's a game set in the 5e Realms. Only dunces here are people trying to argue using outdated lore (or blaming the lore on Larian like the basket cases they are). I'm not defending the changes 5e made, but its pointless to get mad about a 5e game using 5e lore and rules.

>its not official lore because.....I don't like it!
>Larianshit aint official lore.
OFFICIAL LORE. As in BY WOTC. You have not played any version of the PnP have you. Jesus Christ.
>It wasn't my headcanon version of the plot >So now this one is, uh, lore breaking despite everyone in the game saying there's something weird going on with the tadpoles not doing their thing like an hour in and them obviously being something special and the mindsex creature clearly trying to make us into some sort of infiltration unit
>wotc changes FR lore with 4E >its so bad and hated by everyone that they change it back to be closer to Ed Greenwoods writing with 5E >wOtC iZ dA lOrE
Im starting to see a pattern where only the dumbest of quantum-morons, SJWs and spergs defend this game.

And you brilliant alternative as a story device is...? I'll wait. Don't tell me a magical geas is your best shot? Compare Froggy being panicked because she has been infected by a mortal enemy to Gale being really really really concerned about his... magical... geas... that will totally kill him. What a way to start an adventure.

A god curse. Works the same, with much less bullshit.

A god curse? By whom? Doesn't this kinda remove much of the mystery? Why is any god interested in cursing a bunch of mortals? How do you make this curse seen as a blessing by different characters, like Astarion who is very much happy with his newfound tadpole freedom?

Cyric chose you as his Chosen. Now death and misery and people who want to off you start piling on while his looking to use you to help you escape his prison. While you are trying to get out of this deal.

>because that's not how things work in lore
So is this "lore" some sort of sacred text, never to be altered unless you're a heretic, or more of a loose concept which can be played with and has been tossed up and reshaped like a dough ball with every retcon edition? >It kinda doesn't compute.
What doesn't compute is your criticism for the above reason. This isn't Larian butchering the lore because they haven't done their research, it's a special exception rule which even the average loregay can allow so long as it's justified by the end. So long as you can suspend disbelief for mortal-fricking gods who rip open spacetime when murdered you can accept super special brainworms.

>This isn't Larian butchering the lore because they haven't done their research
Bhaal working with illithids is already pushing it. Illithids famously are a hivemind that don't care about human divine pantheon and they wouldn't give some cult of a dead god a time of day. Not to mention making special tadpoles for them in any way. They would just enslave them and move on.
Anonymous
>Illithids famously are a hivemind
How do you know this isn't a rogue faction? You're again reasoning on the basis of "this is the lore, everyone knows this is the lore, why would things ever deviate?" >Not to mention making special tadpoles for them in any way.
The source of the special tadpole appears to be Netherese magic. What does that have to do with your theory? You already know everything that plays out? What does Shadowheart and her Shar-related plot has to do with all this?
Anonymous
>How do you know this isn't a rogue faction?
Because illithids don't have rogue factions for long. If you disconnect from the hivemind you are dead, because the other illithids will hunt you down. And your PC will be hunted down as well. Illithids are psychic, so finding you would be very easy. >The source of the special tadpole appears to be Netherese magic.
It makes it even worse, because illithids hate magic for one and they don't care about some old human empire. And Netherese magic didn't really delve into the secrets of tadpoles, so how would that help?
Now you are contacting aliens from Alpha Centauri to fix your car by using the knowledge from ancient Rome. It's already getting stupid.
Anonymous
>It makes it even worse, because illithids hate magic for one and they don't care about some old human empire.
So this points out to another party with their own agenda, not the two groups working together. The plot thickens. You have done nothing but make nested assumptions within assumptions then claim "This doesn't make sense in the lore!" Well yeah, because you're just assuming a bunch of things that have yet to be revealed or explained.
Anonymous
It's not the plot thickening, you now have three completely different plots that don't gel. I can already bet my dick that the answer is going to be moronic. It's like this game when you pick words at random and make a story out of it. Where you can have ONE that focuses on either illithids or Bhaal, instead of giving you this convoluted, far-fetched nonsense.
Anonymous
Do you even know anything about Ceremorphosis and Illithids (without looking it up before you post)?

I know enough that "this doesn't make sense! we should all have transformed by now!" is repeatedly highlighted by the characters themselves after approximately 10 minutes. So why are you repeating this argument like this is evidence Larian are idiots who never bothered reading a page of lore? EVERYONE knows the lore, or is introduced by it when they actually play the game.
I'd just stay away from the lore. WotC has pozzed it, and Larian has further pozzed it

>The lore is honestly not very good
The Lore of the setting itself is great.
It is the only pulpy "Kitchensink"-Setting that actually works well and is thought out.
Which is why its unfortunate that Larian and WOTC piss all over it and BG3 Story runs entirely on memberberries.
BG3 doesn't have much to do with the previous two games, both story-wise and gameplay-wise, so you'll be find to just jump it. You can always pirate it day 1 as well if you're unsure
>that low cut reaching down to her belly. >high cut dress shows off the legs >the fabric covering the arms and legs leave fingers and toes exposed
These frickers knew EXACTLY what they were doing with this design.
I can't blame Wyll for taking the deal.
Her and literally every character's behaviour reminds me of fallout 4. But somehow even more broken.
Like, engine sucks and isn't designed for characters to show any emotion so voice actors and animators make everything overly emotional.
I will play but just avoid any dialogue, they cringe and suck.
Original Divinity games were pretty good comedy fantasy.
Starting with Divinity 2 it's just pure clownery. >Here's your Baldur's Gate 3 developers > https://youtu.be/O4G_xD1SlVY

Here's a compilation just as cringe as yours
Arue can be a bawd if you make her fall again but you're a shit person who deserves to be cucked then.
Fun fact, in one of the adventure path backstories, your character could have an encounter with Arue as a child when she saves your life, and it is very vague as to what happens between that happening and her guiding you back to safety.
someone redpill me on this game. what's it like? i never played the original baldur's gates. i did play and enjoy DOS2. is it similar to that? do you have a good amount of player freedom?

Pathfinder GOG version was a disaster on launch
>what's it like?
I played the previous games and both DOS games and I really like it. Your millage might vary. > did play and enjoy DOS2. is it similar to that?
Kinda. It's more serious in tone and the ruleset is very different.
Instead of AP you have normal actions, bonus actions and reactions.
It's not as freeform as DOS2, you can pick and choose from all the spells spells like you can in DOS2 but there's multiclassing. >do you have a good amount of player freedom?
Yes. And I'd argue the game is way more reactive to the player's choices than DOS2.

You can frick yourself then. If you don't support this game while also liking rpg, then you are everything wrong with gaming.
in DOS2 companions would leave if their attitude got too low. However attitude isn't a thing in BG3, so I'm guessing there will be big story choices that will make them leave or betray you.
We won't be getting super in depth stuff.
They'll probably focus on the monk and the new races on this Friday's Panel From Hell.
Firstly Shadowheart isn't attractive at all
Secondly, is she evil? There are no waifu options for goodboys? (minus the space goblin because NTR)
>is she evil?
Unironically you can fix her. >There are no waifu options for goodboys?
Karlach, another origin/companion character.
Alfira, not a companion but you can romance her.
No, the angry "badass" women will stay that way, but I know what you mean about WotR
Wendu was SUPPOSED to be that but her romance was written too schizo to be satistfying to anyone.
Arue is already on the road to that too thanks to Desna so you're just helping her, not causing the change.
Have you played the game? She gives off 'confused girl who entered a cult she doesn't know anything about'. She reads off Shar's tenets like they're off a list, like she doesn't really believe in them herself. Plus, her memory is wiped so...
She says she's a cleric of darkness but then reacts positively if you help children and puppies
Okey. Lets imagine for a moment what she got her memories back and - surprise! - became even more evil than Minthara and Lae stacked together. What her kindness and cuteness are both the result of an erased memory not the other way around. I'm not saying that it surely would be this way but I think it perfectly possible.
Scratch that. I forgot the game cuts off at level 12. It's perfectly fine. You're wasting the benefit of outranging melee classes and some niche invocations but that's about it.
Wrong.
Baldurs gate wasnt canon. None of the games were. In fact WOTC released the Baldurs Gate novels as an alternative canon which introduced us to shit characters like Abdel Adrian, Jaheira cheating on her husband, Imoen being a lesbian, Bodhi being a tavernwench etc etc.
>Mask of the Betrayer
Again, not canon.
And dont let me even get started how they got the background of the Wall of the Faithless wrong.
>The novels aren't canon. >Murder in BG and Descent into Avernus take the main character of those novels and his backstory and expand on it >BG3 makes references to Abdel Adrian

Karlach, another origin/companion character.

The "long rest" mechanic in this game is very unrealistic. You need 40 "food supplies" per long rest, which is 10 per person if divided equally, or maybe a little more for the men and a little less for the women and small races. Well what is 10 units of "food supplies" you might ask? About 3 apples. Does Larian expect me to believe this idiocy?
I hope they tweak it because currently it is too easy to spam long rest. On normal, I don't care. On Hardcore, I think you should be only able to rest via camp supplies.
>nutritional value of 1 apple >52 calories
imagine how many of these things you'd have to be carrying around with you to feed an adventuring party of people running around with huge backpacs filled with heavy stuff and also probably wearing heavy armor 24/7. you'd need like 100 apples a day per person.
>be playing with edited save to increase party size >everything is going fine >enter Grymforge >two extra characters have disappeared >"Oh, I'll just use the rune fast travel system to get them to rejoin" >entire party is now gone
lol
Hardened Wyll and arguably Gale but all of them react well to my moralgayging as a Oath of Devotion Paladin so they are good guys also Shadowheart is not evil unless hardened
Last time I tried it it didn't cause a game over, you can resurrect your character with the other companions and then you can be seethe at Astarion.
It's pretty funny.
They also change their gender once per day.
5e canon.
It'll have an story mode difficulty option. It's really not that difficult.
Morden -- Mordenkainen's Tome of Foes. Page 44, right? Yeah, I read that too. Were you gonna plagiarize the whole thing for us? Do you have any thoughts of your own on this matter? Did larian calm down on the zany weird quirky writing or does it bleed into baldurs gate as well?
Genuinely curious, played both DOS1 and 2
It is a bit more serious in BG3. Nothing really too much honestly.
They are trying to tone it down, but it still does bleed into the game, because you can't teach an old dog new tricks.
Larian is still incapable of writing natural-sounding dialogues, so everybody just vomits pages of exposition at each other in this weirdly flamboyant manner.
Sounded fine to me
It's more like D&D is becoming a Larian game. ecelebs need to have a special snowflake to go on wacky adventures.
Humour has been a staple of Larian games for a long time. Unfortunately, BG3 is a lot more serious and lacking in this aspect. Creates a more soulless game.

Hope you will have fun with your Bodytype 2 (Identity Female) israeli monstrosity character, fricking homosexual.
Thanks man I will.
Why are you upset with a character creator?
Because it shows the direction entire game is going for.
Have you seen the cringeworthy gay homosexual twitter writing with sex scenes? Typical Larian cringe shit.
I'm glad to see Larian experiencing so much success if for no other reason than because I can tell it irritates some of the most obnoxious anons on this board.
I will have a lot of fun with my body type 3 (Identity Jacked Male) character, thank you very much
CRPG gays are likely the kinds of people who are trannies and push for shit like body types instead of Sex. You won't convince anyone here.
Is shadowheart the only decent looking female in this game? Every single other one I've seen looks like an eldritch freak.
Do you think you'll still be at it a year from now?
What?
Not interested in pretending for you, just reply to yourself and I'll check back later to see if you've developed anything interesting in your shtick.
I've posted in BG3 threads a grand total of probably 3 times over the past 3 years. I guess this is what they mean by "schizoposters".
Probably gonna have to mod some of them
You have to mod Shadowheart as well.

SEGGSOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO i NEED to see shadowheart with a pregnant belly carrying my mulatto white human baby and further cleansing the dirty elf genes
So what kind of offspring does a human/half elf couple have anyway?
A half-elf. It will technically always be a half-elf mechanically, until your blood becomes so diluted you breed a human, because coming up with the rules for 1/18-elf is moronic.
Still half-elf. We don't bother with quarters or one drop rules here.

did larian add some cool evil companions or are we still stuck with that annoying frog monstrosity and homosexual tumblr vampire?
If BG3 gets significantly more companions it'll be an enormous step up from Larian's previous games. ie Not happening.
i didn't play lots of dos 1 or 2 but isn't bg3 a lot bigger than those two games? if so, cooler companions somewhere down the line aren't impossible.
Evil drow bawd is a party member
>Is shadowheart the only decent looking female in this game?

>Bioware Tier waifuhomosexualry
wow this is really selling me on this game, Mr. Viral-marketer
Baldur's Gate 2 started the whole Bioware romances thing. Why would it not carry over to BG3?
Because the writing in games has been getting shittier and shittier, thats why.
did you ever play BG1 and 2?
At least BG2 romances were likeable.
I don't wanted knoe what you're talking about I wanted to cut aerie's throat for the whole game, and Viconia wanted to cut mine most of the time it too
How do you know the BG3 ones won't be?
If we judge Aerie based off first impressions, she's probably the most insufferable companion ever written.
1)You haven't played BG2, if that is your take, you only heard about it from memes.
2)I have D:OS2 to judge. The companions never stopped being insufferable.
3) Aerie is way less annoying than that shithead Shadowheart who shittalks you for no reason.
>immediately deflects to another Larian game
You have no fight in you. You're pretty much a spineless worm.
I mean, it's the same fricking crew.
Interesting you suggest I only know of something superficially through memes and in the next breath act like you already know everything about a yet to be completed story because it's made by the "same fricking crew." Logic is not your forte huh? How many Bioware games did you fall for after BG2? Must have been the same fricking crew, yo.
>Shadowheart who shittalks you for no reason.
She shittalks you because she wants to be rape corrected, BADLY.
>Trapped in a cage as a slave and unable to move for so long her wings got gangrenous and had to be physically sawed off
>She is understandably very traumatised and fricked up by this experience and gets emotional about it when she remembers it
>WOW WHAT A WHINY DRAMA QUEEN
I swear Ganker is full of psychopaths who have no empathy whatsoever
>Sob, I miss flying
>It's going to be okay, I'll help you
>Sob, I miss flying
>Yeah, but on the brig-
>SOB, I MISS FLYING
>Aerie our child ne-
>I WISH I STILL HAD WINGS
Empathy has limits.
wrong
when you engage the relationship she forgets the wings thing
and she becomes a kinky waifu
The whole point is that you don't get to hear about her backstory until you've weathered like 10 hours of non-stop whining, you moron. I must reiterate to make myself clear: The whole point is that you don't judge characters based on first impression.
>This wretched existence on the ground
She says, to and around a bunch of people who have only ever lived on the ground.
She is a whiny drama queen. She constantly shits on everyone around her by implication, presumably without even realizing it, because she's not remotely empathetic herself. And while I can empathize with her just fine, I don't sympathize with her. She's an awful character, and I only kept her around because she was a wiz/cleric.
>there is already NYL2 porn of Shadowheart
There is??? Link???
Use google.
Isn't that the futa artist?
Why ask when you already know the answer?
>Oath of Vengeance Human Supremacist
and get cücked the next day ? larian experience. Can't wait until nobody will give a frick about this game 2 weeks after launch, then the shills frick off to /vg or commit suicide
How does this make you feel?
I mean, Skyrim is also popular.
That doesn't make it a good game.
Makes me feel real good.
now let's see some reviews shill/larian drone, by your shitty logic Elden ring is the best game . Now kys for shilling this game for free
>more than a half decade in making
>only show 1 chapter and some shitty classes
>people like this game
>that means its bad!
>I am a very special non-normie guy!
lmao. I want to cause you as much pain as possible.
>haha I am causing you pain by burning my money!
Oh yes anon. I reeeeeally hate it. It hurts me so much, you better buy the game 5 more times.
>I reeeeeally hate it. It hurts me so much
Yes, I can tell.
Yes it really does. Buy it a few times more.
Shut the frick up, you spaz and calm down.
>seething about Elden Ring out of nowhere
HOLY SHIT WE FOUND ONE IN THE WILD
The strange HOW DO YOU DO FELLOW GankerER styled posts in these threads feels as genuine as Randy Pitchford and his Battleborn porn thing.
I bet a marketing firm is trying to capture the unemployable pirate demographic here on a dying website that can't sell a banner ad. What do you think is happening?
Just frick off to your own general already.
it's okay when ff16 gays do it
>Pozzed Gate 3
>I CANT WAIT TO KISS SHADOWHEART!
cant wait to taste other men's cum?
my friend eatsa this western shit up
but i hope the game is fun so i can hear her talk about how she's an elf and stuff
Friendly reminder: You'll be able to pirate this day 1 due to the GOG release. That way you can avoid giving any money to Larian.
Eh, I'm not a poorgay, and Larian hasn't done anything to spite me, so I'll pass
>and Larian hasn't done anything to spite me
are you trans?
no?
Frick off, troon. Not joining your cult
then why are you buying this game
>literal who twitter
care to post.... you know, the actual game?
it's one of the lead writers for the game
good job joining their cult, moron
Wow, that's crazy, I've played through the early access a dozen times and never would have known. I'm glad they did a good job keep their personal politics out of the game.
...This is approaching the Stalinist levels of gaslighting. It's amazing.
Instead of vagueposting where you imply an argument but never present it, why don't you give me a few examples of what you're complaining about, and I'll do my best to explain to you why you're wrong. Deal?
Dude, the fricker literally writes a character that cucks you as a part of her culture. He did it deliberately.
That's not even how githyanki lore works, he just bent it to satisfy his fetish.
That doesn't actually happen though. I'm talking about the game as it exists, not a fetishist shitposters reimagining of it.
That's unfortunate, so many millions of others found several right from the start.
Most of them are nameless NPC's that just accidently got a pretty face preset.
None of the NPCs are nameless. People generally like several characters, there's just a really dedicated anti-happiness shitposter mentality here.
And the best part is they are doing it completely for free.
The more things change, the more they stay the same.
Gaslighting is a word favored by women and feminists, you should stop using it. No, this is not also an attempt at gaslighting, it's observable reality.
>Why didn't you wash the dishes? It was your turn.
>STOP GASLIGHTING ME YOU RAPIST!!!
>they did a good job keep their personal politics out of the game.
>game full of gay shit
>cuck shit
>ugly women
No, not really. The only gay shit is if you the player opt into it and deliberately choose to be a homosexual. The "cuck shit" is the imagination of a very dedicated shitposter that doesn't actually exist in the game. Ugly women exist, as do beautiful ones, just like anything else.
>Ugly women exist, as do beautiful ones, just like anything else.
I am still waiting for that beautiful woman in BG3.
that's not personal politics mate, that's going outside
That's the game's lead writer.
An ex-Kotaku journalist.
It's a moron who used to be a gaming "journalist" and is now working as a writer for Larian.
I'm rich and Larian is pozzed so personally I'll pirate it.
I already gave them money. Thoughts?
That sucks, but you can still pirate the inevitable DLC
I could, but it sounds like buying it would irritate people I hate, so I'll do that instead.
Now we wait at the inevitable buyers remorse setting in so we can laugh at you.
Games aren't expensive enough to trigger buyer's remorse
Sure. Whatever helps you sleep at night.
You're talking to people who brag to each other about how NEET they are, a video game is a bank shattering expense for them.
I bought the early access the day it was available, its been a great game already. Why would buyers remorse set in?
I made the mistake of buying it but I'll pirate the dlc
There will be no buyers remorse because outside of entirely altering the game past act 1, I can't see additional shit upsetting me that much. I will have fun and I will continue to purchase games I like and have fun with.
I will continue to pirate games I like and have fun with.
That's fine.
If I can't post here, where can I possibly go?
>having fun
Alright boys get this homosexual out of Ganker, we only hate games here, and haven't had fun in a video game since we were 12.
Nyingchi?
thanks for the pro-tip, anon
Not because I don’t like larian but because I’m gonna roleplay my halforc(Black person) thief
Already bought the game. I bought it on GOG b t w. What now?
Get a refund if you can
Sweet. Might give it a shot now
This is fricking pathetic. Just buy the fricking game. Larian deserves our support for this.
>day 1
does this usually happen with gog releases? will be pirating either way though
Yeah, they have 0 DRM so it's just a matter of uploading it for others.
okay that's cool. i don't really see a reason not to pirate then
>has to wait for every patch thats going to be released
no thanks
Wait for what? There's no drm, anon.
what? those sites that upload gog stuff dont do it immediately. I had to wait for weeks for them to upload a fricking patch for solasta. For baldurs gate 3 i just used a russian vpn in 2020 and bought it for less than 10 so i can avoid this patch shit
Patches/updates for high profile games are lightning fast, even more so for those with no DRM. I'd agree with you if this was some obscure game.
>high-time preference
Tell me you're brown without telling me you're brown
>paying for a game that needs constant patches to be playable
I bought the EA on its release.
Why can't I make a sisterwife Imoen companion? Atleast I have her as my dreamfu
The one thing these games need is good companions with interesting stories and personalities, and I don't trust millennials to write satisfying characters to save their lives, my own fricking generation, the one that was raised on absolute slop like harry potter.
Some anon said if I have the game before the 31st, we can play through the first act full release version. Is that bullshit?
I would recommend looking it up instead of thinking Ganker is a reliable source for information.
never played the earlier baldurs gate games
probably won't
time to try learn the entire story and world
Don't bother, because Larian know frick all about Forgotten Realms lore as well.
That sucks. I guess I just love to immerse myself in the story/world.
I post things like that in these threads often because as much as I know there are many youtube essays etc I know there are always loregays that love a chance to spoonfeed and dump their knowledge so I'm happy to enable it
The lore is honestly not very good. It's more about the interpersonal relations and romances
Ah, neat. Would I be safe just learning basic shit like gods and places and so on
The lore of Forgotten Realms is (or rather was) actually pretty rich and interesting, the problem is that Larian doesn't give a frick and WotC has trashed it several times over at this point.
And Ganker knows frick all about it, so they just keep memeing.
>Larian doesn't give a frick and WotC has trashed it
Give me a few examples.
They haven't provided any flimsy excuses, they've simply said the tadpole has been altered in some way yet to be revealed. What you're saying doesn't make any sense.
This doesn't benefit the cult in any way.
>you have a tadpole that does the exact opposite of what the tadpole is supposed to be doing
Why don't they fit? They seem like they fit pretty well so far.
>introduced a main villain during the final boss fight with no foreshadowing
I've only played DOS and DOS2, I assume that must have happened in an earlier game.
>Why don't they fit?
Because illithids are a literal hivemind aliens who have better shit to do then creating superpecial tadpoles for some human cult. They are kinda above that shit. It like you trying to contact aliens so that they fix your car.
There's no evidence they created the tadpoles FOR the cult. The illithid ship is already littered with dead illithids before the ship is actually attacked. There is very likely more to it than you're seeing.
So then there is a mother of all coincidences that those tadpoles work so well on the cultists, because otherwise, you are potentially turning your own people into illithids for no reason.
>coincidences
Is it? Do we know that? Do we know what's going on? I don't think we do.
I mean, tadpoles are supposed to turn you into illithids. That is LITERALLY their only function. If you are putting tadpoles into your cultists you: either want to turn them into illithids and kill you, you explicitly know those tadpoles work different somehow, which begs the question why would an illithid create a tadpole that doesn't do what the tadpole is supposed to do, or you are just moronic and hope you somehow luck out in this one in a billion chance that the tadpole is not doing what its supposed to do.
>you explicitly know those tadpoles work different somehow
probably this one
>which begs the question why would an illithid create a tadpole that doesn't do what the tadpole is supposed to do
we don't know that they did, but regardless, I'm sure we'll find out. I don't think Larian not giving the ending away in the opening scenes of the game is proof enough that they discarded the lore or fricked something up. The story is a mystery, the fact that its mysterious isn't a sign that Larian forgot something.
Especially when there are much easier ways to deliver this story.
>objectively written themselves into a corner
They haven't though. Every time you've been asked to explain this, its always some off kilter assumption, or taking odd things that the characters themselves mention and presenting them like oversights or impossibilities.
>EVERYONE knows the lore
Apparently Larian doesn't, because this isn't how Illithid biology or their life cycle works. I guarantee you there's going to be a retcon for Illithids involved for Larian's game.
Here's a quick breakdown of how it works.
>Illithids appear and are thought to have traveled from the future
>Illithid Elder Brain forms center of Illithid society
>Tadpoles try to exist in Elder Brain pool and avoid getting eaten by it until maturity
>Surviving Tadpoles extracted from the pool by other Illithid and implanted in a suitable host (mostly humanoids, but can be placed in dragons and beholders, among others)
>Tadpole immediately and within hours consumes and replaces the host brain
>Tadpole takes control of the host body and mutates it into a new Illithid
>Illithid is inducted into society and taught by other Illithid
>Illithid must consume cerebrospinal fluid and psionic energy to stay alive (the Tadpole/Brain doesn't produce cerebrospinal fluid, which needs replinishment, and psionic energy is part of their 'diet')
>Illithid dies and their collective experiences are absorbed by the Elder Brain
>If an Ulitharid, can split off from an enclave and form their own, potentially becoming a new Elder Brain
There is no room in this for Larian's plot to work. The Tadpole MUST consume the brain to survive.
calm down and breathe nerd
>Get told
>"H-Haha... You're a nerd..."
I see, you're just defending Larian's pisspoor writing for free. Pathetic.
im not even the one you were replying to, you just sound like a fricking moronic nerd tho
>anon makes a solid point how weak the writing is
>drones arrive
like clockwork.
BG3-Threads are unsalvageable.
>its all a myyyyyyyysterybox!
Holy shit, frick off JJ.
>noooo not my precious headcanon, its being added to! i cant take it!
lmao. weak minded idiot.
OOGABOOGA CHANGE IS COMING!!!
You have to go back.
>noooo not my precious fantasy canon!! go away leave me alone!! you must be from spooky ville sent to torment me!!!
this is more fun than playing the game will ever be.
Nta but you are legitimately 50IQ
would, say, any kind of forbidden magic make the tadpole able to survive without food?
if not, would inventing said forbidden magic specifically for a new plotline, work for this completely fictional and continuously added-to work of fantasy?
of course it would, take your meds.
>Dude magic lmao
Illithids don't do magic, there are some that do, but these are rogues and they are rare. You would never see an Elder Brain involved in anything magical, which you need to produce Tadpoles. If I had to guess, I'd say that Larian is just going to be allowed to fiat a magically inclined Elder Brain masquerading as a cult leader by psionically puppeteering some poor sap as a stupidly elaborate way of taking over the world or something.
>Illithids don't do magic
>there are some that do
>there are some that do
>there are some that do
lmao
Oh he is the moron again who's whole purpose is to disrupt discussion.
Yeah, like incredibly rare loner incel Illithids that live alone in caves pursuing magical studies. Normal Illithids, the vast majority that is, won't have anything to do with magic because they view it as inferior to psionics.
Don't even bother with larian shills - they know squat about the lore. You know this is the case because all they have managed to muster are either insults or "woow it's a mystery, a mysterious plot is now moving forward". That's literally it.
The game may as well be Star Wars x Innsmouth: Tentacle boogaloo and they would still clap over another cast of quipping characters written by manchildren.
Yeah, but I can't help myself.
>the story is bad because illithids might or might not have done something that illithids can do but don't often
lmao
Don't you get it? It's in the lore. Which I know very well. I'm the loremaster. By the way, I can't say I approve of all the revisions Greenwood made in his career.
Those lone illithids would have the means to create a superspecial tadpole. Not to mention a reason.
>hey, I've created this awesome guitar pick, it's useless as a guitar pick, but it's fluorescent!
>they are rare so this doesn't count
KEK you are pathetic
Dont bother. You are replying to Beamdogtroony. Dude got his brain fried waaaaaay back.
Im not even surprised that hes back and is now a lariangay.
See
>Beamdogtroony
Qrd? My autismo game is not what it used to be.
Beamdogtroony was a dude that used to shill the absoluty abysmal game that was Siege of Dragonspear on /vr/ and later /vrpg/ until he got buckbroken so fricking hard by some autistic anon that was spitting facts that he not only admitted to actually being a troony but to trying to get into the jannies pms to get anons criticizing product banned.
Just because multiples people point out the same moron shit doesn't mean they are the same person you fricking troglodyte.
The guy is just moronic.
Nah, homie. Its totally him. Im 99% sure.
They way he shitposts, the way he uses greentext wrong.
Its all there.
I guarantee you that this dumb Black person actually reports each post critical to BG3 in hopes jannies will respond.
>
>shitposting and trying to distract and derial from an argument is "just people defending BG3"
Interesting spin.
Swen has confirmed that illithids are not important in this story.
So... why use them at all?
>illithids don't do magic, there are some that do.
wow incredible point you're already making.
>Tadpoles literally cannot survive without eating brains
Unless magically altered by an as yet unknown and powerful force for reasons yet to be determined.
Me (thief-ish)
Shadowheart (cleric)
Gayl (mage)
The demon lady (fighter-ish)
The holy quaternity. If anyone turns irritating I'll take the halfling in instead.
Are you a real person?
>X has always worked as X in the lore, there's no way, absolutely no way to create a story where X doesn't function as X. Because it's in the lore.
Yeah you're a time wasting idiot. Good on you for wasting several people's time with this pointless back and forth.
>people point out it's against the lore
>fanboys get absolutely buttmad
Or, you know, the devs could write about anything else if X or Y got the better of them. But I guess they really wanted it to be
>DUUUUUDE SPACE SQUIDS LMAOO REMEMBER TENTACLES???
But it's a SUPERSPECIAL tadpole, that doesn't behave like a tadpole at all! It's a mystery!
Which begs the question, why use tadpoles at all in this context, when you can use ANYTHING ELSE, and the story won't change, because that tadpole is already a tadpole in name only.
It's because Larian wanted illithids, isn't it?
>Which begs the question, why use tadpoles at all in this context, when you can use ANYTHING ELSE, and the story won't change
Precisely because it's something familiar to the CHARACTERS OF THE STORY THEMSELVES. It's a problem immediate, understandable, universally known as Very Bad Thing that gives them incentive to seek a solution and perhaps uncover who's behind this for the more heroic.
99% of people in Forgotten Realms don't know what illithids are. Gith know, but 99% of people in Forgotten Realms don't know who gith are.
It's familliar to the PLAYERS, but characters themselves have only a word of one b***hy frog that this is a tadpole. That doesn't behave like a tadpole.
People in FR know who gith are, they frequently raid the fricking place.
No they dont.
They are in fact fairly fricking rare on the Material Plane and when they show up to raid they usually leave no witnesses.
I mean you can make shit up all you like, the official lore is that they're known as raiders and slavers in the FR.
>I mean you can make shit up all you like,
Thats what you are doing. Yes.
>the official lore
Larianshit aint official lore.
> they're known as raiders and slavers in the FR
Wrong.
Bob McDirtpeasant doesnt know what the frick a Gith is.
>its not official lore because.....I don't like it!
>Larianshit aint official lore.
OFFICIAL LORE. As in BY WOTC. You have not played any version of the PnP have you. Jesus Christ.
>OFFICIAL LORE. As in BY WOTC
Still wrong.
If you actually knew what the frick you are talking about you would know that Ed Greenwood is the writer of FR.
Even if WOTC writes dumb shit that contradicts it.
>You have not played any version of the PnP have you
Now you are just starting to embarrass yourself with how far you are deflecting.
Maybe you should try to first find out what the frick you are actually arguing about before you go into a Lore-Discussion you know nothing about.
Taken straight from the MM of 5e. But sure, in your headcanon they totally don't leave survivors and nobody knows about them, which is why it's actually an invention of Larian (???) and not literally official lore. Take your fricking meds, schizo.
>MM of 5e
>d-doesn't count!
>i-i-iits totally c-c-canon guys!
>History provides some information on the githyanki—their race is both ancient and reclusive. Sages believe they once were humans that were captured by mind flayers to serve as slaves and cattle. The mind flayers treated their human slaves cruelly and the people harbored a deep resentment toward the illithids.
>reclusive
AD&D by the way.
Times have changed you moron. In our real world and in the fictional world of FR as well.
>3 editions ago
Yes we know
Technically, it's from MToF. An awful 5e lorebook that contradicts 40 years of lore, because that lore wasn't woke enough.
You're absolutely right, I checked both and switched their names around accidentally. Doesn't change the fact that our resident schizo with a Larian hateboner remains a fricking schizo.
I mean, you are the dunce for bringing the moronic 5e lore into the argument.
It's a game set in the 5e Realms. Only dunces here are people trying to argue using outdated lore (or blaming the lore on Larian like the basket cases they are). I'm not defending the changes 5e made, but its pointless to get mad about a 5e game using 5e lore and rules.
>wotc changes FR lore with 4E
>its so bad and hated by everyone that they change it back to be closer to Ed Greenwoods writing with 5E
>wOtC iZ dA lOrE
Im starting to see a pattern where only the dumbest of quantum-morons, SJWs and spergs defend this game.
I cant be the only one who sees this, right?
>Ed Greenwood loves BG3 and does collaborations with BG3 youtubers
what now?
greenwood's a boomer. his entire generation's MO is "my only value is that I have no values, and you shouldn't have any either"
so your point is ed greenwoods writing is closest to the core lore? so what do you think of him defending it on his own youtube channel im curious
>And you brilliant alternative as a story device is...?
A god curse. Works the same, with much less bullshit.
A god curse? By whom? Doesn't this kinda remove much of the mystery? Why is any god interested in cursing a bunch of mortals? How do you make this curse seen as a blessing by different characters, like Astarion who is very much happy with his newfound tadpole freedom?
Cyric chose you as his Chosen. Now death and misery and people who want to off you start piling on while his looking to use you to help you escape his prison. While you are trying to get out of this deal.
It is a sequel to BG, right?
I love that this entire argument died, because Lariangays don't know who Cyric is.
I love how your entire family died, because your mom talked to Schlomo and decided she needed a post-birth abortion
Yep. These people dont know shit about the Realms.
Fricking lmao, I didn't even notice. Those snivelling rats
you are too attached to make-believe tales. this is not mythical or functional in any way beyond making people have fun. it's perfectly fine to change.
>because that's not how things work in lore
>Illithids famously are a hivemind
How do you know this isn't a rogue faction? You're again reasoning on the basis of "this is the lore, everyone knows this is the lore, why would things ever deviate?"
>Not to mention making special tadpoles for them in any way.
The source of the special tadpole appears to be Netherese magic. What does that have to do with your theory? You already know everything that plays out? What does Shadowheart and her Shar-related plot has to do with all this?
WotC has pozzed it, and Larian has further pozzed it
How so?
LGBT stuff, anti-racism, that sort of thing. Feels really out of place
That's on wotc. What did Larian do?
More of the same
got something more specific?
Where? I've played the early access end to end, the only LGBT stuff is if the player decides to be LGBT, and I haven't seen anything remotely racial. Does Wyll reveal that his real name is Trayvon Martin? What are you talking about?
can you name what it is you're complaining about? sounds like twitter bogeyman stuff
You can always pirate it day 1 as well if you're unsure
you'll be fine*
Well?
kill, kill, kill
All 3 of them, on different playthroughs. Should keep me busy and fat through the winter to come.
>only good looking girls are the evil ones
What did larian mean by this?
It's a problem with every CRPG these days.
>tfw minthara and shadowheart evil first playthrough
>no mizora
>those thigh exposing dresses
wtf I love larian now?
holy SEXO
>that low cut reaching down to her belly.
>high cut dress shows off the legs
>the fabric covering the arms and legs leave fingers and toes exposed
These frickers knew EXACTLY what they were doing with this design.
I can't blame Wyll for taking the deal.
And people wonder why people sell their soul to demons and devils.
STINKY DROW PUSSY
>sorc can haste himself for 3 spells per turn
And then be useless for the rest of the day, great.
based and shadow pilled
ah frick, those breasts should definitely be smaller
guess i gotta mod in the DFC
Question. How would dual wielding as Dwarf War Cleric go?
Bad
Doh... Too bad. Wanted to fully embrace my Fighter/Cleric from previous BG's, but I will have to make do without dual wielding then.
Also what weapon would be good for War Cleric? 2 handed axe? Hammer? Flail?
Take your deity's favored weapon, you coward.
What are the deities and their weapons? I'm not that familiar with 5e.
Her and literally every character's behaviour reminds me of fallout 4. But somehow even more broken.
Like, engine sucks and isn't designed for characters to show any emotion so voice actors and animators make everything overly emotional.
I will play but just avoid any dialogue, they cringe and suck.
Why is the dialogue so bad bros? It's killing me because the rest of the game is decent
Larian can't write for shit.
Original Divinity games were pretty good comedy fantasy.
Starting with Divinity 2 it's just pure clownery.
>Here's your Baldur's Gate 3 developers
> https://youtu.be/O4G_xD1SlVY
Sounds pretty good to me.
It's really immersion breaking at times
Eh, not really.
In all seriousness though, it is. I don't like my fantasy characters all sounding like modern cosmopolitan Westerners
It really isn't. Give me an example of a character sounding like a modern cosmopolitan Westerner. Are you upset that they don't say thee and thou enough?
All the barbarian options, many of the human ones, many in general. Again, it's a huge problem. I was hoping for a more mature tone but I suppose the the Critical Role crowd must be catered to
Those all sound fine to me. Can you be a little more specific? "Oh, the human dialogue, of course" is really kind of meaningless. What specifically is immature about it?
>What specifically is immature about it?
Its immaturity. Why are you trying to be obtuse?
Its actually extremely mature. Which parts? All of it of course, especially "the human dialogue". Why? Because of it's maturity dingus, haven't you been paying attention?
They honestly don't sound fine.
>[Barbarian] Bashing my skull is just part of a day's work.
When I read this I see a writer trying to be cute, not a vicious barbarian inhabiting a fantasy world. Just so very silly.
>wrpg fans when someone makes a joke to them
Nice straw man.
>le reddit fallacy
please don't get mad at your mother for 'breaking your immersion'. She was just trying to lighten the mood
Why is my savage barbarian a quippy redditor?
Why are you picking options your character wouldn't say?
Why haven't the writers provided any options that he would say?
Why have you not played crpgs?
I have, which is why I am asking.
Unlike you, I have played the game, and never run into the problem you are describing. You are just a shitposter who probably hasn't even played a game in the past 7 years
Sure thing buddy. Meanwhile actual cRPGs provided ample opportunity to have your character actually say appropriate things rather than reduce all options down to quips.
Almost as if having a voiced protagonist always was and always will be a massive detriment to actual RPGs.
Oh, so you haven't played the game. I was right all along.
Refer to
See
and then
Why do you complain about games you never played?
I played a barb and was presented with shitty dialogue options. Why does this fact make you so mad?
I pointed out that you don't actually play the games you shitpost about. Why does this fact make you so mad?
>i make shit up why you mad tho
lol
lmao
>coming from the guy who made up things to be mad about
What if I did play the game? Would my critique be valid?
Other cRPGs do it just fine.
Are you implying this crpg doesn't do it fine? Why are you so mad about a dialogue option that YOU CHOSE to say? This is just getting mad at phantoms in your head
No, it's getting mad at bad writing. I would never choose the option because it's totally incongruent with the setting, which is precisely the problem
>you didn't HAVE to hop into the DeLorean and drive-by shoot the mindflayer with a Glock
moron.
Do you have examples that are in the game?
That doesn't really tell me anything, Ganker thinks everything is written like a marvel movie. They don't really know what "written like a marvel movie" means, they just know they see it a lot and its part of the "being hecking based" catechism to call things marvel, reddit, and so on.
>Ganker thinks everything is written like a marvel movie
False.
>Do you have examples that are in the game?
I just gave one.
it's written like a marvel movie, not a fantasy game
this
fricking hate what marvel movies have done to the modern person
It's a video game made by "funny" developers based on an existing property that has seen a boost in popularity thanks to Netflix and streamers and is now going through rapid changes to further appeal to casual viewers. Are you surprised the writing sucks?
Why is the dialogue so good bros? It's killing me because it subverts my jaded expectations and is pretty much forced poetry.
reminder that mods will fix it
Is it July 31st for EA buyers? I'm booking off work lol
yes it is
Yeah, they confirmed it. It’s only act 1 though, but it should be plenty for the three day period, if it has new content, like Swen claims.
>It’s only act 1 though
Just EA's part of act 1 or whole act 1 including the Moonrise?
shes ready
Was she crying with her makeup on?
>crying
heh
no one tell him
looks like an orc fricker
Dude, How can you fail so hard at making a wood elf rogue? Delete this char and start again. This looks horrible. Look at some of the other characters anon have been posting. Yours is one of the worst i've ever seen.
whats wrong with it
Most of it
Everything...even your build is wonky. Especially your build.
>Oh no, Larian is ruining my kitchensink generic setting!
ahem
WHEN
SHORTSTACK HALFLING SEXOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
Shortstackgays get the rope
Tell me you are a futatroon without telling me you are a futatroon.
Halflings need to be deleted from every RPG world
soon
Nice
I hope mindflayer shadowheart keeps the sass
How long until we get futa mods?
Larian garbage can't hold a candle to Pathfinder when it comes to waifus
>Waifu who has threesomes with balors
Uh, to each their own, I guess
>implying any of the BG3 prostitutes are going to be virgins with literal cucks writing the story
At least Arue is physically a virgin after Desna remade her body, but complaining about that stuff when talking about a succubus is missing the point
>he needs deus ex machina plot devices to uncuck himself
kek
Arue should rape shadowheart
>But different franchise!
They're one (1) planeshift away.
Arue would only rape the commander after he "accidentally" drank the wrong potions
prostitute
>have to copypaste bullshit together and take a line out of context to try and make the most Disney fairytale romance seem like cuckshit
Here's a compilation just as cringe as yours
Arue can be a bawd if you make her fall again but you're a shit person who deserves to be cucked then.
>regill takes damage
Fun fact, in one of the adventure path backstories, your character could have an encounter with Arue as a child when she saves your life, and it is very vague as to what happens between that happening and her guiding you back to safety.
>"accidentally"
someone redpill me on this game. what's it like? i never played the original baldur's gates. i did play and enjoy DOS2. is it similar to that? do you have a good amount of player freedom?
It's basically DOS3++. You'll have a blast if you enjoyed DOS2
cool, i'll get it then
*coin sounds*
Why buy it when you can pirate the gog version with no downsides?
Larian games are buggy as frick, you'll need the bug squashing patches.
the downside of GOG versions is that patches are usually delayed and if someone upload the steam patches you have to wait even more
Pathfinder GOG version was a disaster on launch
Go play BG1 and 2 first, then go back and ask again.
Prove you are not a zoomer.
This is like DOS3 with Forgotten Realms/Baldur's Gate lore and D&D 5e mechanics
imagine if DOS2 had three times the polish set in dnd-verse
>i did play and enjoy DOS2
You'll like it. It's basically Divinity Original Sin 3
>what's it like?
I played the previous games and both DOS games and I really like it. Your millage might vary.
> did play and enjoy DOS2. is it similar to that?
Kinda. It's more serious in tone and the ruleset is very different.
Instead of AP you have normal actions, bonus actions and reactions.
It's not as freeform as DOS2, you can pick and choose from all the spells spells like you can in DOS2 but there's multiclassing.
>do you have a good amount of player freedom?
Yes. And I'd argue the game is way more reactive to the player's choices than DOS2.
>28 days until release
bros
I pirated both dos games and they gave me much enjoyment
I really want to buy BG3 however something inside of me is holding me back
Give the Swenster your shekel, you owe him big, he saved gaming.
>you can do anything
Anything except a cool open world apprently.
Boy I sure love Svens Corridor & Backtrack Simulator.
>[PRODUCT] deserves your money!
No. Piss off, fandrone.
>consoomer tries deflect from being a low-IQ consoomer and fails
Just shows that the left cant meme
>NOOOOO QUIT BUYING VIDEO GAMES AND TALKING ABOUT THEM IN A VIDEO GAME BOARD YOU SHOULD BE A CULTURE WAR OBSESSED JADED troony LIKE MEEEEEE
see
>STOP IT! YOU ARE NOT ALLOWED TO DISPARAGE PRODUCT! ITS MY WHOLE IDENTITY PLEASEEEEEE!
Hi Beamdogtroony. Long time no see.
BG3 is gonna be a success, with or without your troony ass.
Yeah, just like Gollum was.
Did Gollum break the steam store due to how many people were buying it?
Enlighten me, anon
>people bought product before it came out so that means its good!
Cyperpunk 2077 begs to differ.
>First its that it will fail financially
>Deflects immediately to it will fail critically
Classic Shazamtroon deflection
>gets identified as Beamdogtroony
>deflects to Shazam
Classic Beamdogtroony.
>please don't notice my hypocrisy!
i dont know who the frick "beamdogtroony" is and i don't care. when i played the enhanced editions i was considering modding the troony new companions out but thought it would be funnier to torment them and kill them
don't notice my hypocrisy!
You are THE hypocrisy, Beamdogtroony.
>i dont know who the frick "beamdogtroony" is and i don't care
Yes you do.
> when i played the enhanced editions i was considering modding the troony new companions out but thought it would be funnier to torment them and kill them
Youre not fooling me.
Your posts sound exactly the same, even complete with the same spergouts in SOD-Threads whenever it was mentioned that the writer didn't understand FR-Lore and someone would post examples.
Is this 'beamdogtroony' in the room with us right now?
What room? A-Are you okay?
Do you need a minute?
Are there other people in your room right now?
Nta but do you have any proof that "Beamdogtroony" is in the threads?
Like a picture that he is the only one posting or shit like that?
Because from what I'm seeing, this is just people defending BG3.
>dev actually tries to cater to gamers
>silly anon still not impressed
You can frick yourself then. If you don't support this game while also liking rpg, then you are everything wrong with gaming.
>tries to cater to gamers
7/10, made me reply
eh they've sold millions of copies already.
Of you liked DOS games you'll like this one. It's basically those with more serious writing.
Tyranny 2 WHEN????
This makes her look like a meth addict
Where do you live where meth addicts are that cute
What happens if you have both an evil and good companion in your party and your decisions/dialogues are mixed good/evil?
in DOS2 companions would leave if their attitude got too low. However attitude isn't a thing in BG3, so I'm guessing there will be big story choices that will make them leave or betray you.
>attitude isn't a thing in BG3
Yes it is. You can find clips of each companion leaving you behind if you piss them off enough.
She is canon gay for black women btw.
This game is a dream come true for Divinity Original Sin II fans
>The moment Ganker turned out to be just as fragile as SJWs on Twitter.
Can you stop sexualizing her? Thanks. I know there's not much morality to go around this wretched place but still.
I wish we'd see full info about the introduced classes and subclasses, see what they changed.
Also races.
We won't be getting super in depth stuff.
They'll probably focus on the monk and the new races on this Friday's Panel From Hell.
>is she evil?
Unironically you can fix her.
>There are no waifu options for goodboys?
Karlach, another origin/companion character.
Alfira, not a companion but you can romance her.
can you explain what you mean by you can fix her? it seems like she wont be agreeable to any kind of merciful or benevolent acts, does that change?
She might be a Shar cultist, who are generally evil, or she might be brainwashed and slowly through act 1 things are becoming known to her
>Alfira, not a companion but you can romance her.
What?
Yup. The tiefling bard QT that you can help with her song.
Apparently there's some datamined stuff that points to her being a romance option.
How are you going to romance someone you can't recruit as a companion?
She moves to Baldur's Gate after act 1 so you will regularly meet her
but what of the angry frog?
I kind of want to see if she develops as a character, but I'm also sort of done with her shit.
>completion of her romance will have her start being polite and saying thank you for the first time in her life
Total frog death. Her and that homosexual vamp are incredibly insufferable and I didn't even finish the EA.
She's funny in an autistic way imo.
Yeah i wasn’t even angry just amused
On the other hand i have killed astarion every playthrough.
Lariangays are such cancer, holy shit.
A toast, to LarianGODS and to our everthriving game BG3, slayer of Codextroons and obliterator of balding nostalgiagays.
I don't understand. You have 30 years of WRPGs to play but you settled for this. Really?
Is there saviorgay/redemption bait in the romances in this game, I was sorely let down in this regard by WotR
No, the angry "badass" women will stay that way, but I know what you mean about WotR
Wendu was SUPPOSED to be that but her romance was written too schizo to be satistfying to anyone.
Arue is already on the road to that too thanks to Desna so you're just helping her, not causing the change.
Shadowheart is literally BUILT for redemption
But why would she want to suddenly turn in a complete opposite of her current self?
Well that's how it would be then I guess. I don't think that's likely considering her repressed memories were of her growing up in a Selunite colony.
Minthara best girl.
See
Is there a list of all the BG3 girls?
will the mc do everything? i feel like i have to make a charisma guy if so.
I hope they give Pact of the Blade some Hexblade features so it's not complete shit.
It will always be shit. EB is just too good.
Hexblade isn't optimal, but it's perfectly viable.
Scratch that. I forgot the game cuts off at level 12. It's perfectly fine. You're wasting the benefit of outranging melee classes and some niche invocations but that's about it.
>It wasn't my headcanon version of the plot
>So now this one is, uh, lore breaking despite everyone in the game saying there's something weird going on with the tadpoles not doing their thing like an hour in and them obviously being something special and the mindsex creature clearly trying to make us into some sort of infiltration unit
>game canon is setting canon now!
Yes. That's what Baldur's Gates and at least Mask of the Betrayer did.
You got even that wrong.
>The novels aren't canon.
>Murder in BG and Descent into Avernus take the main character of those novels and his backstory and expand on it
>BG3 makes references to Abdel Adrian
ahahahaha you are such an illiterate moron!
>You got even that wrong.
homie, you are too dumb to even do basic research.
I would tell you to go and play the modules Murder in Baldurs Gate or Descent into Avernus but we both know that you never touched a Tabletop-Game in your life.
Now frick of with your embarrassing shitposting and come back when you arent illiterate.
Did you spent all that time googling? They're not canon.
Prove it.
Black person
DoubleBlack person.
Firstly Shadowheart isn't attractive at all
Secondly, is she evil? There are no waifu options for goodboys? (minus the space goblin because NTR)
Karlach is your best bet for a good option.
A she looks cute 🙂
thanks
The "long rest" mechanic in this game is very unrealistic. You need 40 "food supplies" per long rest, which is 10 per person if divided equally, or maybe a little more for the men and a little less for the women and small races. Well what is 10 units of "food supplies" you might ask? About 3 apples. Does Larian expect me to believe this idiocy?
I hope they tweak it because currently it is too easy to spam long rest. On normal, I don't care. On Hardcore, I think you should be only able to rest via camp supplies.
Put that thought aside for a moment, what is Lord Gordash's tax policy?
>nutritional value of 1 apple
>52 calories
imagine how many of these things you'd have to be carrying around with you to feed an adventuring party of people running around with huge backpacs filled with heavy stuff and also probably wearing heavy armor 24/7. you'd need like 100 apples a day per person.
Imagine feeding Shadowheart 5200 calories every day until her half-Elf body swells haha
yea well playing p&p you just use goodberries anyway
And where do these goodberries come from? Not everyone can cast goodberries.
druids and rangers can cast it, two popular classes.
What does goodberries taste like?
What do you think, moron? They're not called shitberries.
Answer the question
They taste like the berries they were before magical enchantment
>options menu
>disable camping supplies
>return to game
It's too easy.
>be playing with edited save to increase party size
>everything is going fine
>enter Grymforge
>two extra characters have disappeared
>"Oh, I'll just use the rune fast travel system to get them to rejoin"
>entire party is now gone
lol
>another ugly female character
>meanwhile the male cast consist of attractive twinks
who are the evil companions in the game besides shadowheart and minthara?
Hardened Wyll and arguably Gale but all of them react well to my moralgayging as a Oath of Devotion Paladin so they are good guys also Shadowheart is not evil unless hardened
what enforces a paladin's oath of devotion?
Well, I don't know shit but Tyr personally gave me a vision so I presume the holy Lawtism trio (Ilmater, Tyr and Torm) bestow you their favor
In the Forgotten Realms? Their god. In other settings where paladins don't have to follow a god? Frick knows.
Astarion only cares about himself and no one else and I think can actually cause a game over if you let him bite your neck a little too much
Last time I tried it it didn't cause a game over, you can resurrect your character with the other companions and then you can be seethe at Astarion.
It's pretty funny.
It'll have an story mode difficulty option.
It's really not that difficult.
Reminder elves do not eat food, shit, or sleep
I don't know how half-elves work but probably the same
They also change their gender once per day.
5e canon.
>They also [deranged headcanon]
Mordenkainen's Tome of Foes, page 44, The Blessing of Corellon.
Don't come crying to me if Minthara grows a dick at random.
>Corellon
>Blessing a dr*w
Yeah, it's canon.
How else would you make an "oppressed troony on the run from TERFs" allegory? It's literally in the book.
Morden -- Mordenkainen's Tome of Foes. Page 44, right? Yeah, I read that too. Were you gonna plagiarize the whole thing for us? Do you have any thoughts of your own on this matter? Or do you...is that your thing? You come into a thread. You cite some obscure passage and then pretend...you pawn it off as your own idea just to impress some anons and embarrass me? See the sad thing about a guy like you is in 50 years you're gonna start doin' some thinkin' on your own and you're gonna come up with the fact that there are two certainties in life. One: don't do that. And two: I don't care about your genderfluid rhetoric.
Incorrect, actually. There is a small subset of elves that is particularly blessed by Corellon that gets the ability to change their sex.
>There is a small subset of elves
By a small subset, WotC means "every important named elf".
do elves even make children?
I figured they sprung out of holes in the ground or something.
except when they're being raped by human men, of course
>jerk off
>Collect your semen
>Flip sex
>Impregnate yourself
You just know it's happened at least once.
game is too hard, completely unplayable unless you follow a build guide
yawn (you) skill issue etc etc
>Game coming early august
>My first kid coming late July
Will I be able to play bros?
31st of july if you pre order actually
