There is no alignment requirement (unlike in tabletop) and it's somewhat homebrewed in that Oathbreaker is not evil unless you want it to be, it's more of an acting on your own justifications type thing in this game. There are even some unique oathbreaker dialogue options for freeing slaves and shit. Except that you also retain access to all the righteous paladin dialogue options too which is odd but whatever.

Your party gets limited to 4 instead of 6... quite disappointed about this one myself.
Another point of contention for some people is that it doesn't have RTwP, it's turnbased. I don't really mind since I prefer TB.
To me RTwP always felt like you turn your brain off for the trash mob fights (which isn't very engaging or fun) and then you pause often in the engaging fights at which point it plays a lot more like a TB system. So I'd rather just switch the entire thing to TB and have fun and engaging fights. Not to mention bonus actions and reactions aren't exactly straightforward to implement if you want to preserve the real-time aspect in my opinion.
Can't speak for others but as someone who has played and enjoyed the previous games I really really like BG3 as well. But the switch can feel quite jarring for some.

Not from what I've seen. Even legendary artifacts like Blackrazor or Holy Avengers cap out at +3, though even then most campaigns don't even go on long enough to actually use them.

I played neverwinter nights, the only real thing I can say I hold some minor scorn for is the system shock remake and even then it's not great more so it's just a bastardization of ss1 and ss2 hybridized but it's fun so it is what it is
if you want that tired old 'real time with pause' shit - go play Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous.

I'm playing as Karlach for my first first solo playthrough so no.
Not to mention subsequent patches might break certain mods which might make the game crash when loading modded saves so I'll avoid using mods at release.
Later on when things have stabilized more frick yeah I'm using mods.
Been my dilemma for a bit. On one side, I want to play the game as quickly as possible.
On the other side, the character customizer is just sooooooooooooo good. But the risk of it breaking with week 1 patches may be inevitable.
One solution would be avoiding patches. You can:
A) Pirate it. Obvious solution
B) Get it on GOG and don't run it through the GOG Galaxy client (although I think you can block updates in it as well)
C) I think you can block the appmanifest file in steam and the game won't update.but do some research first on how feasible this is.
You also might be able to run the game without steam even if you bought it on steam but again I'm not sure.
Me, as much as I love modding my games I can live without mods for a first playthrough, there's enough in there to keep me occupied for a good while.

So instead you focus more and just killing shit or just frick with their ability to kill you and your party.
Mages are still very strong.
You can also use those flowers to shut down the turrets in the tower in the underdark.

Bards are pretty OP. Still they are not as good as Wizards when it comes to pure arcane power.
Wizard schools look pretty underwhelming aside from divination and enchantment, and bard of lore can outright grab a few good wizard spells that are not in a bard's list. So i genuinely wonder at what point of autistic minmaxing wizard becomes better.
Divination is the most busted shit in 5e and it's not even close. As for lore bard, usually it's better served taking shit that's exclusive to half casters like paladin's Aura of Vitality for insane healing.
Figthers deal more damage, sorcs have metamagic. Of course for a party utility slot he's probably the best choice.
My issue with metamagic is that you're completely drained just after a few encounters
