Oathbreaker is strong since it's not really a subclass you're meant to play in a normal campaign. And if I recall you can only become an oathbreaker in BG3 after breaking your oath and continuously doing evil stuff.
That being said its apparently moronicly easy to break your oaths in BG3.
It was always moronicly easy to become a fallen paladin in D&D, just look at ToEE, giving a big fish to a pirate or flirting with the pirate boss' girlfriend makes you a fallyboy
5e however doesn't really have fallen paladins as a thing or concept though and even oathbreaker is only in the DMG.

Fallen paladins made sense when they were LG only and godly crusaders. Now that Paladins don't even need to follow a god and can be any alignment it's a little moronic but 5e is at least a little moronic in most aspects.
Even then, a paladin shouldn't become a paperweight if they lose their godly link.
A fallen paladin should either have had the ability to become a paladin of a new alignment, or become a fighter equivalent.
As far as I remember they had lower bab than fighters so becoming fallen made you fricking useless.
But you could always become a blackguard(evil paladin) after falling, that was the entire point.
After becoming a fallen paladin, you become depressed, desperate, and resort to dealing with the devil.
In the pnp yes but in the viseogames as far as I know no D&D game that lets your paladin fall feature blaggards
Oh and paladin in general is one of the stronger classes in 5e and probably the best martial alongside fighters. Getting a critical smite at the right moment is boner inducing.

Can you beat this game if you do minimal investment into combat across the board and build your team into doing goofy ass shit?
If it's anything like DOS2, the strongest strats will be insanely goofy shit. Who is to say whether there might be a stat-check boss you have to pass through, but generally you should be able to frick around A LOT.
You can avoid a lot of combat with various means but it can't be entirely avoided because there are hostile creatures you cannot reason with.
In the EA I basically went into the goblin fort without fighting a single goblin since the assault on the druid Grove and managed to stealth kill all the leaders except the big gobber who triggered the entire fortress for example.
Cheesed him by pushing him into the spider pit though.

You use your con mod in your AC if you wear no armor. So yea. You can't wear heavy armor and rage anyways. It isn't optimal, but many things that are fun aren't.

Baldur's Gate II had 16, and each of them had maybe 10% of the interactivity/banter/dialogues that BG3 companions have.
Apparently two of the story-related NPCs were so popular that they turned them into potential party members. (Halsin and Minthara)
I hope they remembered to give them dialogue reacting to the events you encounter, otherwise they might as well be fricking blank custom characters.

OS2 had co-op players choose dialogue options in "party chats" during the course of quests to mirror the single-player party giving their thoughts. In regular dialogue, other players can listen in when one player opens dialogue. The intent would seem to be that players pursue roleplay. Whoever makes themself the point of contact steers that relationship/quest. Or the party collaborates and shares opinions, as companions do in single-player, and a decision is made.
Not unless they implement the text chat in-game so it can be played anonymously.

I really dislike how Baldur's Gate looks. It's so washed out and dull and obviously mediterranean-inspired rather than northern european, with its dull dusty bricks instead of something darker. If they're gonna go that way, they could at least make it look appealing instead of just beige.
And of course the roads are fricking tiny and narrow and full of dust, plants, and other obstructions that would get cleared away and mended instantly in any well-maintained city.
It just looks like a really shitty place.
To me it looks more diverse? Like the bigger more important buildings are more grecco-roman, but the smaller, probably actual homes and non-famous businesses are in european styles. I'm guessing this would probably be most prominent in the outer and lower cities, with Upper City looking the most greek/roman.
Baldur's Gate isn't greek/roman in architecture though.

According tot he devs about "30%" of Act1 is different or new. According to people who got to play the pre-release stuff at the event the changes were "noticeable".

I swear, War Cleric is probably one of the best multiclass dips for a Druid. For one level you get: three cantrips, including Sacred Flame, guiding bolt not to mention two other spells, heavy armor, martial weapons.
I think the only better choice is Barbarian if you want some Rage Wildshape shenanigans.
