I have played all the classic CRPG's and read every line in Planescape Torment but PoE is insufferable to read and absolutely dry as shit. Doesn't help that the set up for the story is gay as frick and the opening dungeon is apparently not meant to be entered until later in the game.

Everything is overly detailed. A lot of trivial parts of the environment and characters are described too in depth. The game has a problem with being verbose, and it's a common criticism that you don't hear about most other CRPGs
I've replayed it multiple times and never thought of it as verbose, but in retrospect some of the companion quests were quite wordy. I blame Avellone for that, however.
Darvin was fricking awful, at least once you figured out what was going on with the backer NPCs you could safely ignore them.

Didn't help that I had the powers to see their stupid ass stories prior to even getting the powers, not such if they patched that since but I don't care enough to even see. Very, very poor game design in an attempt to get shekels for funding from morons. This plagues seemingly all of the modern isometric crpgs, including Owlcat with Darvin. Imagine if BG3 had some character in your camp who literally *teleports behind u* and sends you on some poorly designed quest that makes no sense in the narrative and has no impact other than giving you awesome items for taking the nothin personel kid OC's side.

Larian used to be a 30 man indie dev. They're now 400+ man AAA dev and can afford to work on two games simultaneously. Swen's new game won't go into full production for at least another year. There's a perfect window of opportunity to squeeze in an expansion for BG3 before they put their entire focus on to the new game.

The only good thing about POE1 is that this game actually fixed old school RTWP combat, but they didn't break Bioware's curse (2 million of copies as the ceiling for CRPG).

So did I, I thought it was great. I feel like that's where Sawyer is in his element, writing about things he's passionate about. Better at exploring ideas within a setting than creating from scratch.
There's something very dark about this because it feels like Swen just put Elijah and Sean through some kind of humiliation ritual to flex on LOTR. Nothing in the video implies he's a legit fan. Something really feels off about this whole video.

Yes, BG3 is a great fantasy adventure.
I REALLY wish that I could enjoy this game. I spent about 20 hours, made it to Act II, and realize that I can’t make myself like this game. The combat alone takes way too long. I don’t mind TBC, but even minor battles can take over ten minutes.

There's still 150,000 people who play it daily And you realize that saying only 0,1% played it less than 2 minutes, means that the rest of the players played it for more than than 2 minutes, so your statement was dumb

I got back into the game after a break, did they patch the difficulties? tactician feels harder now, the fake paladins of tyr almost flatlined me, i actually got divine smite nuked first try, the fricker legit killed 2 party members completely in 2 turns, had to just get him first.
