>thinly veiled
jap games are shounen anime and western games are young adult slop, that's the way it's always been for at least 2 decades unless the story isn't the main focus like in bethesda games
FLAVOR OF THE MONTH? >FLAVOR OF THE FRICKING MONTH?
Lad, KID. Fricking NEWFREN DUMBFRICK. Dude, Baldur's Gate 3 is NOT Flavor of the FRICKING month. It's a sensation, an ideal Swen is striving for. You don't FRICKING blaspheme he-who-is-holy-and-is-swen.
I do agree that most people will probably drop the game without finishing act 1 but it'll be a fun time for crpg bros
I'm going to play it coop with one of my irl DnD friends
homie the company that rebirthed the fricking genre is making this game. Whether or not you like for _________ generic reason I've heard before, you don't get to gaslight people into thinking that CRPG fans haven't been eating good because of Divinity. Jagged Alliance 3 is a blast btw even if it's "annoyingly" assessable.
>why would there be bugs >in a game with billions of possible gamestates >that are all interlinked
gee i dunno anon, that's never happened before has it?
Is it beatable solo? Yes. Is it possible for someone who asks that kind of question? Probably not. Will it be enjoyable? Probably not, unless you're autistic.
it's not designed for solo in the way something like Fallout 1/2 or Underrail is. But it is possible as a challenge with alot of quick saving and prior knowledge. Wouldn't try it on a 1st playthrough, unless maybe you play on easy.
>Game seems VERY Reddit
Name one hyped up game in the last ten years that isn't fricking "VERY REDDIT" you little dumbfrick buzzword-feeding-sack-of-shit. I'll wait.
>Can I make a bro team? Not a homosexual; I just wanted a chill bro team without prostitutes and drama. I played a bro team in Divinity Original Sin 2, and it was comfy. The male characters were all pretty friendly and comfy though none of them betrayed you unless you just purposely did something to piss them off or did something they completely disagreed with.
I hope it still works on launch but in EA you just start the .exe 4 times (they have to ALL be vulkan or ALL be dx11), host a game in char creator, escape, connectivity, allow lan, allow direct connect, then in the 3 other windows you just copy paste it in, and make an entire custom party.
DnD stats are moronic. >kill people with muscles stat >never get hit + kill people with speed stat >die slower stat >be really smart + kill people with knowledge stat >have good intuition + kill people with nature stat >Make people do what you want regardless of any other qualities you have + kill people with your voice stat
Immediately Strength is the worst stat because it only offers combat utility, when every other stat also does so -- and Dexterity is better at it.
Because most interactions are with intelligent creatures, Charisma is by far the best overall stat because it lets you skip combat entirely, and in the case you do enter combat a charisma class scales off it anyways.
Only way around this is if BG3 has a low INT run like in Fallout that gives alternatives to missing CHA, but even still that's a bandaid to the gaping flesh wound that is having a dedicated mind control stat.
yeah i forgot this is why I usually play sorcerer.
you get to be a cool spellcaster and the most charismatic leader ever. want to do something different this time I always get sick of having to cast so many fricking spells with an extra caster in the party.
You need every stat as every role to a larger or smaller degree since these stats aren't just combat stats but general action stats. There are a ton of times where a DM can ask you to roll with any of them for almost any reason.
Also, in BG3, Strength increases throw length and weight limit on throws, jump length and carry limit while Constitution also decreases the chance that any spell that requires concentration of being disabled when you take damage, about 1/3rd of all spells have a concentration requirement
Why couldn’t they just actually use the DND system instead of this stupid bullshit fricks sake I had forgotten about that >you can just jump to avoid attack of opportunity xD
>>you can just jump to avoid attack of opportunity xD
Nope, they have changed that, you can jump through AOOs wihtout getting hit (think of it as your character jumping over the enemy) but if your start position is close to an enemy then you are getting hit and/or eating shit
No since there is a hard limit on just how much damage heavy objects can do in the game unless they are specifically scripted to ignore it, they did this in DOS2 atleast so I expect it to be the same here. You'll also never be able to reach a point where you can walk around with a 3 ton chest simply because you'll never be able to get the strength required to do so, making you unable to do anything except for drop said chest infront of you while having sub 5m movement
Actually in BG they invated and made it "carry heave people and throw them at people" I'm rocking a gnome monk and my gf is playing a barb for that exact gameplan.
>Immediately Strength is the worst stat because it only offers combat utility, when every other stat also does so -- and Dexterity is better at it.
Thats because nobody is using the encumbrance system. Try playing a campaign with a str*5 as max encumbrance and tell me how it goes with a full team of dex.
Who are the best and the worst party members? Both in gameplay and personality.
I didn't play the early access builds and I'll keep it in mind for my first playthrough.
>Who are the best and the worst party members? Both in gameplay and personality.
Wyll is a Warlock which is moderately powerful but very samey and boring as you're spamming Eldritch Blast endlessly. His character has been rewritten so hard to say how he is now. Laezel is very bossy and demanding, but fighters are solid. Astarion is a decent skillmonkey rogue but is a flamboyant homosexual. Shadowheart and Gale are both great. Not sure about Karlach.
If something says you make a strength saving throw you roll a d20 and add your strength modifier.
If you're proficient in a save you add your proficiency as well.
If you have advantage you roll twice and keep highest.
If you have disadvantage you roll twice and keep lowest.
You can be forced to roll any of the six stats.
Str saves typically deal with movement impairment or shoves.
Dex saves are typically area damage.
Con saves are usually poisons or to concentrate on spells.
Wis saves are effects that disorient or control your character.
Int saves are attacks against your brain.
Cha saves are usually banishment type effects that send you away.
I'm not sure if we'll have as many options with feat selection to shore up weaknesses like we could in 3.5 or pathfinder. I used to like taking iron will as a fighter since my wisdom would be low and I'd have bad will saves vs magic. But in this, it might just be better to accept you are weak to certain things be it fort, reflex, or will, and still make sure your stats are good for what really matters for your class. Maybe magical items like rings and amulets can help out with that later, or buff spells. IDK. I havnt played much 5e.
Yes, I will play Dark Urge
Yes, I will second guess all my decisions
Yes, I will end up most likely regretting it and restarting a new file 3 days from now because I'm autistic
If you’re going for at least two stat improvement feats, 16
If you’re going for one improvement and one that gives a single point on top of the feat, 17
Not so much as lost, more like feeling out of the loop and/or having issue understanding the significance of certain things and/or having problems caring, in general
Just imagine you've been isekai'd by truck-sama cause that will be pretty much the initial experience.
I was dead set on making a sorc/warlock character but after watching an interview about classes i'm going necromancer wizard. You can raise mummies and other types of undead beside zombies and skeletons, including "some very powerful ones" that i'm guessing are characters you killed, as hinted by the larian guy.
Yes, there is even a specific storyline for it that you can choose at character creation called "The Dark Urge" that allows you to play as a reluctant murderhobo or a gleeful murderhobo
BEST MC >Bard
Flexible jack-of-all-trades, can fit any party role, which is useful because the MC is going to be the only character guaranteed to be in the party at all times. If you switch out people you can change your party role. High CHA is useful for NPC interactions, which the MC is going to engage a ton in. Has a bunch of skills that can come in handy and a class feature that gives a small bonus to all of them. Also no confirmed Bard companion so you're unique. College of Lore is very good because you can steal spells that other classes get, you can have a Bard that casts Fireball
SECOND BEST MC >Paladin >Sorcerer >Warlock >Rogue >Ranger
Except for ranger and rogue, all high CHA characters, so have the same benefits as Bard, MC will engage with npcs the most so this is an advantage. Paladin fits the "party leader" archetype fairly well. There is no confirmed Sorcerer companion either.
Rogue is not necessarily CHA focused but has a shitton of skills (some of which are social) that can make them a good party rep, lots of skills will also come in handy for skill checks only the MC can do. Ranger is also fairly flexible (not as flexible as Bard) and also has a bunch of skills
THIRD BEST MC >Wizard >Monk >Fighter (Battlemaster)
Wizard is an INT focused class so it fits with the story, it would make sense why the Ilithid would go after him and having high INT is useful for a number of checks when dealing with them. While not as skill-focused as Rogue, Bard or Ranger they have access to a shitton to spells that give them a lot of utility.
Everyone hates monk and thinks they're underpowered so it'd be interesting for shits n giggles, there's also no confirmed Monk companion
Battlemaster Fighter can very easily fit the "party leader" archetype like the Paladin through some of their maneuvers, although they are not as CHA focused
BEST MC RACE >Gnome, Dwarf, Halfling, Half-Orc, Dragonborn
Because there are NO party members for any of these
Guide for Homosexual men and MtF trannies.
CIS white europen human males are Fighter, Rouge, Ranger, Cleric and Wizard. Other classes for npcs and gays
I’m a very disappointed in the lack of weight options.
In dark souls there are quite a few heavier body types, armors, and even side characters.
Weight distribution is a huge part of dimorphism, there are too many games out there that just feel like the same exact smoking hot man / woman with someone else’s face pasted on top.
Realistically speaking and taking into consideration the character herself.. lustful curiosity could take a hold of me, but I really don't know if I would be able to form a relationship.
DnDlet here
whats the in game lore reason for learning new skills when leveling up. it just seems like "and now you know a bunch of new speels out of nothing" sort of thing
You level up after gaining enough experience.
You learn new skills from having more experience.
It just happens in discrete levels.
If I wanna mix bard with 2-3 levels of warlock, then do I start as bard or warlock?
Warlock starts with wis and cha save proficiency, bard starts with dex and cha.
You probably have high dex and no wis so the lock start makes more sense to me even if it delays bard spells for a full level.
You want two levels of lock in order to have invocations so you can select agonizing blast and repelling blast.
Most levels are minor enough that they don't grant truly new abilities that often, most of the time it is passive bonuses. And in normal D&D levels tend to come at the end of big quest where you are presumed to have a bunch of downtime to learn new skills. BG3 won't have those kind of clean story splits for leveling.
I'd assume its something like:
Wizard - You have it in your spellbook but it requires study and practice to cast well so it doesn't end up blowing up in your face. You finally have enough knowledge to cast it properly.
Sorcerer - They have innate magic so they're discovering some new power they never had before
Cleric/Warlock - The deity/demon you're simping for bestows upon you a new gift.
Bard - Writes a new magical song or what have you
My waters tell me that some things, such as class based dialogue options or the ability to talk to your patron, will be based solely off of your first class. I have no basis for this but I feel it man.
Wildheart. The bonus attack/throw from Frenzy requires your bonus action, which if you're dual-wieldan you should be spending on your off-hand.
I mean, you *could* still play 'serker but, why not use a beeg two-hander then?
Wear the best medium armor you can find.
You probably won't have enough dex and con to make unarmored defense worthwhile.
Half plate is 15+2 dex for 17.
Unarmored defense is probably 10+2 dex +2 con for 14.
How come DnD is 40 years old and they still haven't moved to a realistic combat system that involves fighting for positioning (ie. you're in their guard and free to swing) and once you're in position you deal damage until you lose a grappling roll
5e is a normie system for normies and trades off a lot of complexity and realism for streamlining.
Unarmoured for cool factor, but to start medium armour will probably be best. You'd need pretty high dex and con (probably through magic items) to beat out medium armour at most levels of the game unless you're doing something silly and going dex/finesse barb.
Genuinely it shouldn't be too big of a difference especially if you reckless attack, since it'll give enemies advantage to hit you. You're not supposed to be hard-to-hit like most frontliners, just hard to kill through your HP and resistances.
Barb 6/Sorc 6 or something close, at least 5 in Barb for Extra Attack
What armor class would a Bear Barb use? Full unarmored for the Constitution bonus? Does Bear heart even need armor?
Unarmored like any barbarian. The bonuses barbs get to unarmored combat outweigh the benefits of armor. And bear gives resistance to bludgeoning/piercing/slashing damage(I think also magic damage at higher level) , which means you only take half damage
So no, barbs don't need armor
Unarmoured for cool factor, but to start medium armour will probably be best. You'd need pretty high dex and con (probably through magic items) to beat out medium armour at most levels of the game unless you're doing something silly and going dex/finesse barb.

So what would stat distribution be like for an unarmored Bear Barb? Prioritise strength/constitution/dexterity? Could you get away with Mainly just strength and constitution?
Depends on how good Druid is. The idea is that you will want more druid than barb, but we don't know exactly how it'll play out, and you can always respec more WIS later
Maximize strength and raise strength to 20 asap.
You're gonna get 3 ability score increases.
One or two of those will be going to raising strength. One of those should be dual wielder.
Strength: 16
Dexterity: 14
Constitution: 16
Intelligence: lmao
Wisdom: ideally not less than 10
Charisma: lmao
You'll have a solid 10 + Dex modifier (2) + Con modifier (3) AKA 15 AC, unarmoured, at level 1, which is pretty decent. It's comparable to a chain shirt, but will be outclassed eventually by half-plate or magical armour.
But again, the fantasy of going unarmoured is sick so don't let it being a bit weaker stop you from showing your bear chest. You will be plenty tanky even with the lower AC.
It's really not a big deal, it's just a -1, and in the EA Barbarians seem to get circumstantial advantage to intimidate quite a lot probably to make up for it. Guidance and advantage combined help a ton. Proficiency's nice though
The suggested stats for Barb are STR highest, then CON. keeping DEX high after that will increase your unarmored AC (but if you do wear armor eventually, the DEX bonus you get on top of that may be capped, like it's 15 AC+DEX up to 2 from the DEX mod)
a little bit of WIS isn't a bad idea, as you can be proficient in Animal Handling/Perception/Survival. CHA could come in handy if you want to choose proficiency in Intimidation. INT can always be a dump stat unless you really want Nature proficiency.
If I was using the standard array to make a totem barb (before applying racial bonuses), I might go 15 STR, 14 CON, 13 DEX, 12 WIS, 10 CHA, and 8 INT (you can go a lot more min-max than this with point buy) and choose proficiency in Animal Handling (or Perception/Survival) and Athletics
Nvm, medium armor is fine. I thought Rage required no armor but it's usable if you aren't wearing heavy armor. So, any medium armor that gives you more AC than the 10+DEX+CON you get with unarmored defense is good. That may be common in BG3, but the vendor medium armor in 5e isn't usually better than that at a reasonable price
Basic rage gives you resistance to physical, bear breaks the game because from lvl 3 onward you have a character that takes half damage from EVERYTHING but physics. And I guess a mind control because of course that plot point has to play out.
How come DnD is 40 years old and they still haven't moved to a realistic combat system that involves fighting for positioning (ie. you're in their guard and free to swing) and once you're in position you deal damage until you lose a grappling roll
Because having too many mechanics makes the game worse, not better.
If you want to RP that shit then do a Grapple check and then Shove to Prone. Now you have advantage against that enemy and he can't get up without breaking your grapple.
Going Ranger/Rogue, not sure which one I'll go for first though. Also definitely going Melee, might go Ranger Knight or whatever the Heavy Armor one is called
in EA the pets stack up and they confirmed they WILL scale to end game. The downside you 'll need to stay a beast master for all 12 levels, but a familiar AND a pet is going to be VERY strong.
The pet is like 75% a person like in Kingmaker and 125% of a person under buffs.
>Wanna be an extremely skilled marksman? Fighter >Wanna be a sneaky ranged assassin shit?
Rogue >Wanna be able to cast a few spells to potentially bolster your otherwise solid marksmanship?
Eldritch Knight or Arcane Trickster subclass for Fighter and Rogue, respectively >Wanna protect the borders of civilization with a mixture of nature magic, animal companion and your trusty crossbow?
Ranger
I should note: Rogue with the Thief subclass benefit especially from dual-wielding two hand crossbows, because you can use your bonus action to fire your off-hand crossbow, and Thief gives you an extra bonus action for more pewpews per turn.
Fighter will be solid whether you dual wield crossbows or use one big hefty arbalest.
Race doesn't really matter, pick whatever sounds coolest and fits with your character fantasy.
Can't you not shoot crossbows multiple times per attack, since they have the Loading feature?
In which case, Rogue's probably the best choice since you're getting more sneak attack damage into the one loaded shot you get with Attack, instead of wasting Extra Attack for Fighter/Ranger.
Wasn't in EA as mentioned, but even then in the full game it'd probably be a solid idea to pick up Crossbow Expert, which completely lets you ignore loading.
Am I an butthole for directly telling my bro I'm not playing co-op with them?
I really cannot be fricked to even attempt a campaign like this multiplayer, I want to play it by myself
Also when I played elden ring with them they didn't stop whining and complaining and it kinda ruined my experience. Is that rude?
Not really. Do you have more time to play that your friend? Maybe you can do you normal single player run and do a playthrough with them that focuses more on combat and messing around.
>entire thread full of false flags >Russian shill bots >And autistic american right wing homosexuals that MAGICALLY have the same ideals as the Russian shill bots
ahaha, i thought americans didnt fall for propaganda
Going Ranger/Rogue, not sure which one I'll go for first though. Also definitely going Melee, might go Ranger Knight or whatever the Heavy Armor one is called
Heavy armor fricks with your stealth, which is stupid.
Tbf no. Unfortunately not. For sa you are limited to finesse weapons. This means high dex equals no heavy armor. As barb you get con and dex to ac. Take a shield and use dual handcrossbows.
change my mind; halfing/dwarf/gnome were waste of playable character slots, if they swapped these out for some interesting alternate races or lesser seen races the game would be improved
Then tell me how to extra break my build without halfings
But how would I Time Wizard halfing with the Lucky feature, along with long rests inbetween every combat encounter, otherwise? I want my free crit and nat 1 candies to hand out.
The fact that they are all small people made them easier to add. Taking away halfling and gnome doesn't mean you have the resources to add cat people and other things.
Also D&D fans would have flipped shit, it would have been marketing suicide
But how would I Time Wizard halfing with the Lucky feature, along with long rests inbetween every combat encounter, otherwise? I want my free crit and nat 1 candies to hand out.
i want to play a character thats essentially a spellsword. i think hexblade lock was what i would play but since thats not available whats another good option?
All warlocks are now able to be practically hexblades, they made it so your level 3 "Pact of the Blade" option that lets you take extra attack/eldritch smite invocations also makes your attacks with pact weapon scale with Charisma. It's mainly so you don't get easy 1 level dips for that, you need to at least devote 3 to get it.
So you can still do Warlock for that and that's probably what oyu want, otherwise Swords Bard is a decent spellsword with more support focus, and from what I hear Four Elements Monk is a good martial/damaging caster this time around.
How strong is range combat? If you can climb over highland almost every fight would it be necessary to have one melee DD and range DD on highest difficulty setting?
I tried EA and ranged combat was ridiculously good, like it wasn't even a competition. However the only front liner I had was Shadowheart and everyone else was kinda squishy
Ranged combat is looking pretty strong. Since high ground gives +2 to hit and archery fighting style also gives +2 to hit, you can take Sharpshooter and toggle it on and practically negate the loss in accuracy, so you'll land strong hits without needing to set up advantage.
Getting to high ground with the way Jumps as bonus actions work is trivial.
>ironic hateposter
No, I'm just a furgay who enjoys feral, believe it or not.
I've never played any of the Baldur's Gate games, I just heard that this game has bestiality content and now I'm hype.
>How is this "the best character creator ever"?
Caters to trannies and leftists with a bunch of tattoos, special snowflake hair and skin colors, various shitty side-cut style options, and a literal genital selector.
What is the "Thunder" damage type supposed to be? It's not lightning, and it's not force. Is it just really loud noise damage? I have a hard time imagining that hurting as much as being lit on fire.
Because he actually wants to but wants to seem cool on Ganker so he has to call it dogshit first and then he can say he's playing it ironically.
Last game Ganker shilled to me was Diablo 4 and I dropped that after I hit 70 and was the most boring shit. Ganker ain't gonna shill me again I'm gonna pirate this shit.
I was having fun unlocking cool shit then it just stopped and everything started getting slow and then blizzard started nerfing all the fun shit so I just dropped it.
>Game was so boring I played it until I practically finished it >I hate Ganker shills so I'm going to do exactly what they want me to do
The frick is wrong with you
It's unwise to dump just because you can't be certain you'll have full plate quickly, and wisdom is pretty worthless to a paladin since they add proficiency and cha mod to it anyway.
no you can respec your class too, the only limitation is oathbreaker pally, which requires you to atone, based Swen said that they want the player to keep playing the game and being able to experiment
the amount of people I see saying they're playing lore bards on Tactician is hilarious and I can't wait for 50% of them to wash out in the first 4 levels when their companions carry their corpse through every fight

I'm planning to play Sword Bard though

no, but it does ass damage early on before you can set up some good item combos and it will NEVER match a martial or wiz/sorc/lock/cleric
It's a great class but people seem to talk like they're going to be Rogue+ (now with full spellcasting) and that's just not true

Just does zdps in a game where the general strategy is to nuke dangerous enemies off the field as soon as possible.
>you do NOT get to stack from a multiclass are unarmored defense, extra attack, and uses of channel divinity. A 5th level paladin gets to make an extra attack when they take the attack action, and a 5th level barbarian gets to make an extra attack when they take the attack action. But a barbarian 5/paladin 5 does NOT get three attacks when they take the attack action (barring some external buff of some kind). Monk and barbarian unarmored defense do NOT stack, you get one or the other.
owltrannies status - BEARED
This is how 5e has always worked. What's to be seen is if you can do standard 5e broken multiclass nonsense like soradin.
>I assume saves from EA don't work in the full release then
Nope, they're telling everyone to manually delete everything related to EA because it might frick with the official release
I don't get why they couldn't just check which version of the game was used when creating the save and stop the game from loading EA saves. Or why they couldn't just put EA saves in a different location.
they could do lots of stuff but that doesn't mean something won't frick up somewhere

There's no real reason why an older save would frick up a game somehow and save version management is a solved problem, that's all

they're probably being extra cautious to try and dissuade people from force loading old saves into the new build which will definitely frick the game up.

I refuse to play this "game".
Larian doesn't respect gamers as proven by how ugly all the romanceable females are, while making the LGBT quota handsome.
This game is anti Ganker.
Only an incel from /misc/ would be so insecure in his own masculinity that he refuses to even look at a somewhat handsome man.
Back to your containment board, moron:

You get a dice skin, some typical bonus art and music freebies, and some in game items that you may or may not want. Just look it up. Might as well if you're buying it anyway.
its basically free skins and you pay less to avoid the release mark up theres no reason not to just grab the game now if your gonna play it there trying to give you free shit only late comers get fricked

Dump strength and put your wisdom up.
The only cha half feat to round your cha score is magic initiate warlock which sucks, so you could drop cha by one and fix your dumps or push wis up further so you maybe have a slim chance of succeeding wisdom saves.
Bc it’s a free game with mtx. All games with mtx are at the top bc paid games are mainly bought in the first month or on sale so the f2p games stick to the top when nothing comes out

Anyone here also going blind without having played the EA or looked at anything?
Is there a point in lowering any ability under 10? Doesn't seem like having a negative ability modifier is worth it, at least during first playthrough.
It lets you raise other stats further since this runs on 27 point buy.
You only get 3 ability score increases in this game so it's a big deal to have a good spread.
If you're a multiclass you also frick over your ability score increases because you won't get the final one at 12th level.
A level 12 soradin is significantly weaker than a level 14 one.
>pick beast master >boar is cool >bear is cool >but pick raven and send that homie flying around and it doesn't cost an action >stealth behind some gay >hit him with blinding strike from stealth >now the ranger gets advantage against him
it's just that easy
Want to make a dual wield crossbow fighter so going 3 levels of thief first into the rest fighter (I might decide at the end to do 3 levels of gloomstalker over 9 fighter but we'll see)
I'll just use Shadowheart so I don't really need picking locks and shit, what should I use my rogue bonuses on? Chuck some points(2 for a +1 maybe) into cha and do diplomacy? Maybe wis instead of a better save and Insight/Perception?
Thief does nothing for this build.
Three levels of gloomstalker does a lot.
Perception and stealth.
I don't see crossbow expert in the feat lists so you might be out of luck.
crossbow expert is in and ANOTHER bonus action doesn't do anything when dual weild hand crossbows? REALLY? You do you know you can fire them as a bonus action right?
Three levels for a single bonus action is awful, it's a single attack.
Gloomstalker lets you make an additional attack with the attack action which stacks with action surge, haste, and extra attacks.
It will also boost initiative, it will also let you cast hunters mark to deal even more damage with each hit.
Consider that you gave up fighter 11 for this, which is the same thing without action surge or haste.
What did you get in exchange? Expertise and cunning action.
It's not good no matter which way you shake it.
this isn't Kingmaker or older games. CHA checks are actually much less than INT ones, and INT ones are lower than WIS ones.
You can't do em all, and sometimes party members will do the talking if they're closer, so in all honesty just don't worry about it.
Hell, barb and bard get a ton of class based dialogue that you don't get unless you are one.
>magical secrets: fireball, also dissonant whispers or tasha's and AoOs before that, and Larian surfacemancy with trick crossbow bolts even before that >cutting words fix defense problems >healing word provides all the healing you need in 5e >song of rest cleans up resource management
Nevermind me, just best 5e caster strolling through
You can still get bonuses from party member spells that raise abilities, and you don't really need a high CHA unless you want to talk someone into doing something crazy. You also can get persuasion feats without high CHA.
It's more just a bonus for people who already use it as a primary stat
The sheer amount of people min/maxing for this game is hilarious. It's a fricking larian game, bros. It's fricking DOS3. Why even bother fricking minmaxing for combat when you can literally just shove people into pits and lava. Shove isn't even considered an aggressive action, that's how moronic this game is, in EA you could literally shove every duergar into lava without initiating combat or even acknowledgement from the other duergar. It's insane how goofy this game is and you homies really want to play it like an Owlcat game or some shit.
You have to go paladin 6 or it's a waste.
Have fun playing melee with 12 strength unless you can luck gauntlets early.
Generally when people play low strength paladin multiclasses they use devotion so you can at least make a lightsaber if you can't hit something.
That's cool but how are you going to kill anything to reach that level? You also need 4 levels in a class to get an ability score increase/feat.
You have to be able to play your paladin before then.
Something to think about is the game will let you full respec, so find out what the limitations there are and abuse it.
Start out something you can actually play, swap things later so you don't have to cope with being gimped early when you're at your weakest.
It is a bit of problem right at the start but once I reach level 2 or 3(?) I can already start using the OP blast that I forgot the name
However yes, if shit is going to get too difficult right at the start I was planning on just going full pally til I accumulated some levels

You will be level 2 at the end of the tutorial. If you kill the boss there, which will admittedly be hard with a gimped character, you will be level 3.
Level 4 will take a lot longer to get to.

End of act 1 is lv 7-10, depending on how many side quests you do.
>500 hours in underrail >like original sin (and divinity games in general) >can't bring myself to play older crpgs or pathfinder at all >hate d20 to hit
no idea if I am going to love or hate this game
>enemy has 8 AC (average) >have +3 to hit from stats (pretty normal) >80% to hit
in videogames you can easily do a months worth of combat tabletop wise in a sitting fighting things with fricking dogshit chances to hit
it's not even that uncommon for a full round to pass where everyone misses their attacks
>80% >dogshit chances
I don't think you know the meaning of the expression. Imagine playing a stealth sniper in underrail with 100% hit chance. Every turn you KNOW you can delete an enemy, no risk.
You're not taking into account advantage and other modifiers that improve your hit chance. That being said, the game is based on a TTG ruleset, so accepting randomness is unavoidable.
>pic related
God that reminds me that I need to do another playthrough, SMG build with spec ops and grenadier is so based.

Probably good during a solo playthrough, otherwise you'd have to build your entire party around it or you'd be griefing yourself.
They specifically put in respeccing for all the people about to frick their characters up multiclassing.
Do not multiclass unless you have a very very very specific reason. It is a bad decision more often than a good one unless you know the system in and out.
People are making nonsensical min-max builds like it's Pathfinder. With the exception of Monk and Ranger, the classes in the PHB are pretty solid just sticking to them. 5e both doesn't lend itself to build autism very well and it's not necessary to begin with to have a strong character.
Video games = fun
multi classing = fun
single classing in a vidya game = boring as FRICK
this game = homebrewed as frick
all the variables are there, you just need to put them together now.
When you multiclass in BG3 you keep spell progression from all your classes. It's not like actual 5e, BG3-5e is a multiclass fiesta. For me, it's fighter-sorcerer-bard-cleric.
Do the higher difficulties just add more enemies or make them smarter with their decisions or does it pump stats? I’m not going to up the difficulty if everything is just going to start rocking +8 to every resistance or some shit
I'm not sure if their stats change at all, but they mentioned enemies will start targetting your backline and shit like that instead of just mindlessly running into the first thing they see.
what about taking 2 levels of lock on lore bard to add in a very strong range damage component. Because you're lore you still the 6th level's secret and lose out on 11, sure, but that level you then get three beams so I don't think you'll feel so badly abou tit

Works super well in this game and better than normal bard leveling because e. blast is strong. At level 3 or 4 or whenever you can, respec to take bard first for the proficiency, then 2 lock, then continue on as bard. Blast carries you and you'll have spells before you know it and you can skip all the single target damage ones.
all the stuff ITT people are talking about multiclassing is shit that works in the PnP so I am not sure where you are getting that they're going to be gimped comes from.
The thing to keep in mid is that yes, 3 gloom, 3 ass, 6 battle master DOES work but it's 2 only ASIs. How are you going to get everything? Is an ASI worth assassinate? Probably, but you can also do 6 BM/6Thief, get an extra ASI, and do more consistent damage
It's hard to frick up multiclassing AS LONG AS YOU KNOW where your ASIs come from and what levels (rogue and fighter get an extra!) and you plan ahead
I only bought it because I dont wan to deal with Dimitris and Pacos leeching every torrent and downloading the pirated version for the whole weekend.
Is the giant file size the ultimate DRM?
Rests aren't going to be as plentiful as they were in EA but you should still be fine so I think Sorlock is just going to be worse than pure sorc every time.
Quicken costs 3 and not 2 like in the pnp and you'll have to be a dumb dumb to not quicken a spell and use it on a cantrip, even a good one like EB.
Quicken has always been bait.
It's always been twinned and careful to smash the game open.
Particularly if larian coded careful web such that you never attempt the save.
>It's always been twinned
yeah but the way haste is you're going to twin haste or you're just a FOOL that Mr. T pities. And if you're hasted, then you can cast two spells, and if you can cast two spells you should've just been a regular sorc with maybe med armor and shield from somewhere, etc etc
I would only ever haste martials like karlach since she will be a murder machine with a champ splash.
Haste isn't the only bullshit you can twin, there's greater invis and that will probably be the go-to for tactician so you don't get turbobonked.
You should be able to cheese enough ac since this 5e. Karlach has perma advantage, you can give the frog a bow and ginvis for perma advantage, you can have shadowheart do spiritguardian memes or poly karlach if she goes low, I THINK dodge is in the game in which case cleric frontliners are pretty safe.
And then your party is also a harem.

the two classes I am waffling on are beast master ranger or necro wiz so I think I'll have canon fodder anyways. I imagine like Divinity, summons will be spectacularly useful as shields.

It's to be seen how they're implemented.
The most DISGUSTING summon spell in the game is anime objects and since it's fifth level no one knows how it's going to work or if it will let you do the standard animate 10 tiny objects to make an unkillable murder tornado.
Conjure woodland beings in theory is in but I have heard zero mention of it.
Should cleric do all 12 levels as cleric or is a 1-2 fighter level dip good for heavy armor and action surge?
All cleric, spells are too important and clerics actually have very little use for a standard action. Half plate is medium and is about as good as plate.
The meme with cleric is to go druid 1/life cleric x for a gimmick with goodberry and heavy armor but idk how larian made it work.
I think because haste lets you cast 2 spells and quicken costs 3 sorlock is just bad now. You lost your level 6 spell for nothing
lockadin still a G, though.

sorlock also suffers from level 12 cap. It's just not that powerful compared to 14+ tbh

Why is this being shilled so hard? Is it because of Bestiality?
people are really into dating sims thinly veiled as RPGs

I would play any RPG with het romance in it
I'm starved for love man

Thanks for fricking up the joke, Tim. You'll always be number one at that.

it is being shilled though

jap games are shounen anime and western games are young adult slop, that's the way it's always been for at least 2 decades unless the story isn't the main focus like in bethesda games
FOTM game pretty much, I'm excited for to see reddit normalgays and zoomers realize first hand why the crpg genre is dead.
> I'm excited for to see reddit normalgays and zoomers realize first hand why the crpg genre is dead.
Good thing this is Ganker and not reddit.
I do agree that most people will probably drop the game without finishing act 1 but it'll be a fun time for crpg bros
I'm going to play it coop with one of my irl DnD friends
I think it took me like 40 hours to complete the first act in the beta and I had a blast.
homie the company that rebirthed the fricking genre is making this game. Whether or not you like for _________ generic reason I've heard before, you don't get to gaslight people into thinking that CRPG fans haven't been eating good because of Divinity. Jagged Alliance 3 is a blast btw even if it's "annoyingly" assessable.
Quit getting hyped for goyslop

I'll pirate it in a a few weeks when bugs are patched.
why would there be bugs in a turn based games with deterministic outcomes to every possible combination of abilities

What kind of gaslight is this?
>Nooo you have to use the shitty default site
Frickin what?
is bg3 playable solo?
game looks interesting but i do not care for babysitting several characters
Dark Urge is literally the solo murderhobo experience.
Is it beatable solo? Yes. Is it possible for someone who asks that kind of question? Probably not. Will it be enjoyable? Probably not, unless you're autistic.
Yes
I too will make an unkillable Berserker and solo the entire game all by myself
it's not designed for solo in the way something like Fallout 1/2 or Underrail is. But it is possible as a challenge with alot of quick saving and prior knowledge. Wouldn't try it on a 1st playthrough, unless maybe you play on easy.
I'm not allowed to solo. it's seems pretty gay.
If I hated DOS2 will I hate this too?
Also, the game seems VERY Reddit which is turning me off of it.
I didn't really like DoS2 but this seems a lot better. No more moronic physical/magical armor. A lot better everything.
I hated ds2. This seems fun as frick. Played early access
I hope it still works on launch but in EA you just start the .exe 4 times (they have to ALL be vulkan or ALL be dx11), host a game in char creator, escape, connectivity, allow lan, allow direct connect, then in the 3 other windows you just copy paste it in, and make an entire custom party.
ever heard of sigil?
Wake me up when it's out on my Series X. I don't have have $1,500 up my anus to upgrade my PC.
hope you homosexuals know I always pick vicona
can't wait for another save bloat bug!!! 20gb save files here we cooooooooooome!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I like watching people kill themselves
DnD stats are moronic.
>kill people with muscles stat
>never get hit + kill people with speed stat
>die slower stat
>be really smart + kill people with knowledge stat
>have good intuition + kill people with nature stat
>Make people do what you want regardless of any other qualities you have + kill people with your voice stat
>Also, in BG3, Strength increases throw length and weight limit on throws,
Oh great so it has the oh so whacky “carry heavy boxes and throw them at people” divinity bullshit
Jumping is actually insane in the game. High STR makes hopping around like some kind of moronic rabbit viable.
Why couldn’t they just actually use the DND system instead of this stupid bullshit fricks sake I had forgotten about that
>you can just jump to avoid attack of opportunity xD
Im pretty sure you still get hit now, its more that there is a lotta verticality.
>>you can just jump to avoid attack of opportunity xD
Nope, they have changed that, you can jump through AOOs wihtout getting hit (think of it as your character jumping over the enemy) but if your start position is close to an enemy then you are getting hit and/or eating shit
jump still provokes attack of op
I want to rape the game with my berserker mage
i want tabaxi
>no dwarf, gnome, halfling, dragonborn, half-orc, or githzerai party member
Why does Larian hate little people?
How can you be hyped for a pozzed troony game?
The bestiality. I'm excited for the bestiality.
No, I am not trans.

What references to the original do you think they'd even have?
Noober is confirmed in the game, he's Naaber, Jaheira and Minsc are in, but aside from Imoen or Sarevok appearing I don't know what else
Maybe they can have a Flaming Fist guard say AH SURVE THE FLAMING FIST or something
I did played these games million times already owning them on cd,gog, steam.

Not sure about Karlach.
>fighters are solid
They are boring as frick. And warlock is a better fighter anyway.
>Echo Knight
>Busted as frick
>Boring
Yeah, you tell 'em king
dumbfrick
Not in this game, but give CR time and I'm sure they'll get a full expansion.
does it have a demo?
can't find any on steam
pirate the early access, it's the first chapter with some features missing but you'll get the idea
I don't get the saving throw system
Someone explain it to me
Do i select throw that i have the least stat with?
Must i get every stat throw?
Bait or ESL
Saves are not the same thing as checks.
BG3 LOOKS LIKE THAT!???
Give Swen your support and encouragement! He is about to release his baby and his biggest project.
Yes, I will play Dark Urge
Yes, I will second guess all my decisions
Yes, I will end up most likely regretting it and restarting a new file 3 days from now because I'm autistic
I will romance Shadowheart and perform every conceivable act of sexual deviancy with her. Giving her the bear is only the beginning
which ones better, 16 or 17 for primary stat?
If you’re going for at least two stat improvement feats, 16
If you’re going for one improvement and one that gives a single point on top of the feat, 17
Never played Baldurs Gate, know jackshit about the Lore, last RPG like this i played was Dragon Age 1, will i be lost?
Same sis
I tried the EA and it's not that bad, take a bit to get used to but it's easy
Not so much as lost, more like feeling out of the loop and/or having issue understanding the significance of certain things and/or having problems caring, in general
Just imagine you've been isekai'd by truck-sama cause that will be pretty much the initial experience.
I was dead set on making a sorc/warlock character but after watching an interview about classes i'm going necromancer wizard. You can raise mummies and other types of undead beside zombies and skeletons, including "some very powerful ones" that i'm guessing are characters you killed, as hinted by the larian guy.
/v Queen
Can I play as an obnoxious fricking murder hobo that just kills every NPC?
Yes, there is even a specific storyline for it that you can choose at character creation called "The Dark Urge" that allows you to play as a reluctant murderhobo or a gleeful murderhobo
Yes, there's a specific story path for it
BEHOLD!
you can do this on any character
Dark Urge railroads you to all the murderhobo dialogue choices and adds extra story
homie THAT'S NUTS
BEST MC
>Bard
Flexible jack-of-all-trades, can fit any party role, which is useful because the MC is going to be the only character guaranteed to be in the party at all times. If you switch out people you can change your party role. High CHA is useful for NPC interactions, which the MC is going to engage a ton in. Has a bunch of skills that can come in handy and a class feature that gives a small bonus to all of them. Also no confirmed Bard companion so you're unique. College of Lore is very good because you can steal spells that other classes get, you can have a Bard that casts Fireball
SECOND BEST MC
>Paladin
>Sorcerer
>Warlock
>Rogue
>Ranger
Except for ranger and rogue, all high CHA characters, so have the same benefits as Bard, MC will engage with npcs the most so this is an advantage. Paladin fits the "party leader" archetype fairly well. There is no confirmed Sorcerer companion either.
Rogue is not necessarily CHA focused but has a shitton of skills (some of which are social) that can make them a good party rep, lots of skills will also come in handy for skill checks only the MC can do. Ranger is also fairly flexible (not as flexible as Bard) and also has a bunch of skills
THIRD BEST MC
>Wizard
>Monk
>Fighter (Battlemaster)
Wizard is an INT focused class so it fits with the story, it would make sense why the Ilithid would go after him and having high INT is useful for a number of checks when dealing with them. While not as skill-focused as Rogue, Bard or Ranger they have access to a shitton to spells that give them a lot of utility.
Everyone hates monk and thinks they're underpowered so it'd be interesting for shits n giggles, there's also no confirmed Monk companion
Battlemaster Fighter can very easily fit the "party leader" archetype like the Paladin through some of their maneuvers, although they are not as CHA focused
BEST MC RACE
>Gnome, Dwarf, Halfling, Half-Orc, Dragonborn
Because there are NO party members for any of these
tl;dr? aint nobody readin allat :skull:
>Gnome, Dwarf, Halfling, Half-Orc, Dragonborn
Yeah nah, female human.
Nice autistic overanalysis. The best is whatever you want to roleplay, you troglodyte.

actual homosexual
I need shadowheart feet
Which class should i play if i want to role play as myself, a dirty fat NEET that shitpost on Ganker?
>fat
Can't, the character customization doesn't let you be fat. So much for diversity huh
>So much for diversity huh
True.
> Fat
>NEET
>Shitposter
Paladin, the class was literally made for fat losers.
>Drow
>Wizard
>Divination subclass

DnDlet here
whats the in game lore reason for learning new skills when leveling up. it just seems like "and now you know a bunch of new speels out of nothing" sort of thing
You level up after gaining enough experience.
You learn new skills from having more experience.
It just happens in discrete levels.
Bard - Writes a new magical song or what have you
Open the door Swen.
If I wanna mix bard with 2-3 levels of warlock, then do I start as bard or warlock?
How would that work out, you'd have the OP eldritch blast just from dipping 1 level into warlock?
You need 2 levels to really make eldritch blast good, and 3 levels if you plan to use swords.
So 2 lock 10 lore bard or 3 lock 9 sword bard?
My waters tell me that some things, such as class based dialogue options or the ability to talk to your patron, will be based solely off of your first class. I have no basis for this but I feel it man.
Swen just announced he's barricaded himself inside the studio and refuses to launch the game
It's over.

Who do you think the target audience for BG3 is, you fricking moron? It's gay furgays.
Now go back to your containment board:
furgays are so repulsive lmao. what's it like being the most hated fetish group in existence
why are you posting furry pornography and saying that? Are you a self hater? Do you have a humiliation fetish?
I hope you are just shitposting cause that shit does not make you look 'cool'
For a dual axe wielding Barbarian is it better to go Berserker or Wildheart Bear for subclass?
Wildheart. The bonus attack/throw from Frenzy requires your bonus action, which if you're dual-wieldan you should be spending on your off-hand.
I mean, you *could* still play 'serker but, why not use a beeg two-hander then?
Thanks for the info, gonna go full Bear mode Wildheart Half-Orc.
Anyone know if split screen is on pc or is it just for console plebs?
What armor class would a Bear Barb use? Full unarmored for the Constitution bonus? Does Bear heart even need armor?
Wear the best medium armor you can find.
You probably won't have enough dex and con to make unarmored defense worthwhile.
Half plate is 15+2 dex for 17.
Unarmored defense is probably 10+2 dex +2 con for 14.
Bear.
Dual wield and berserker is redundant.
Bear resistance is very underrated.
Totem barbarian is the best. Basically unkillable.
is converting Minthara to good confirmed
How do I build a bloodrager in BG3?
Barb 6/Sorc 6 or something close, at least 5 in Barb for Extra Attack
Unarmored like any barbarian. The bonuses barbs get to unarmored combat outweigh the benefits of armor. And bear gives resistance to bludgeoning/piercing/slashing damage(I think also magic damage at higher level) , which means you only take half damage
So no, barbs don't need armor
So what would stat distribution be like for an unarmored Bear Barb? Prioritise strength/constitution/dexterity? Could you get away with Mainly just strength and constitution?
Depends on how good Druid is. The idea is that you will want more druid than barb, but we don't know exactly how it'll play out, and you can always respec more WIS later
Maximize strength and raise strength to 20 asap.
You're gonna get 3 ability score increases.
One or two of those will be going to raising strength. One of those should be dual wielder.
Just the same as a regular ol' barb.
You will be plenty tanky even with the lower AC.
don't tank CHA and leave it at 10 so you don't take a penalty because you have intimidation proficiency
And I guess a mind control because of course that plot point has to play out.
>balls hurt gay 3 homosexual simulator
I'm so hyped for Bladder's Gape 3.
Look up the AD&D 1e grappling rules. They're a little cumbersome but are kind of similar to what you're after.
is anyone here gonna play ranger? or am i alone
Ranger rogue at some point, but Paladin first, for the cool oathbreaker stuff
Literally every woman (female) will play ranger, they get a pet.
what animals are there as pets? i'm thinking of playing a gnome and i want something kino
I saw Raven, Wolf, Bear, Boar. When they level up they get cool armor and shit, like a pokemon evolving. I'm not sure if that's the full list though
watch them not give shapeshifter druids armor. outdone by ranger pets once again.
Shapeshifters can turn into dinosaurs and shit, so I think you guys will be okay
yeah but a dinosaur in armor bruh
Going Ranger/Rogue, not sure which one I'll go for first though. Also definitely going Melee, might go Ranger Knight or whatever the Heavy Armor one is called
Ranger 2/thief 6/barb 4
They put in Gloom so atleast we have one decent subspec.
Beast Master will be the best in this game, unlike PnP
This shit here is what turns good men bad anon. They couldn't frick it up that badly.
in EA the pets stack up and they confirmed they WILL scale to end game. The downside you 'll need to stay a beast master for all 12 levels, but a familiar AND a pet is going to be VERY strong.
The pet is like 75% a person like in Kingmaker and 125% of a person under buffs.
Beastmaster Ranger with the heavy armor/find familiar options. Going to go with strength and heavy weapons I think.
Want to play crossbow, class and race suggestions?
>Wanna be an extremely skilled marksman? Fighter
>Wanna be a sneaky ranged assassin shit?
Rogue
>Wanna be able to cast a few spells to potentially bolster your otherwise solid marksmanship?
Eldritch Knight or Arcane Trickster subclass for Fighter and Rogue, respectively
>Wanna protect the borders of civilization with a mixture of nature magic, animal companion and your trusty crossbow?
In which case, Rogue's probably the best choice since you're getting more sneak attack damage into the one loaded shot you get with Attack, instead of wasting Extra Attack for Fighter/Ranger.
that wasn't in EA but they might of added it
Wasn't in EA as mentioned, but even then in the full game it'd probably be a solid idea to pick up Crossbow Expert, which completely lets you ignore loading.
Am I an butthole for directly telling my bro I'm not playing co-op with them?
I really cannot be fricked to even attempt a campaign like this multiplayer, I want to play it by myself
Also when I played elden ring with them they didn't stop whining and complaining and it kinda ruined my experience. Is that rude?
..no? considering the story is such a main factor I also would want to play alone first.
kinda. just play a second solo run at the same time, or after
Not really. Do you have more time to play that your friend? Maybe you can do you normal single player run and do a playthrough with them that focuses more on combat and messing around.
told my friend the same. we are both over 30 and I dont see us finishing a 100+ hour game together in a reasonable time.

Heavy armor fricks with your stealth, which is stupid.
Didnt think about the stealth aspect. Is a Str Rogue even a good idea then? Dexterity also impacts your Stealth right?
Tbf no. Unfortunately not. For sa you are limited to finesse weapons. This means high dex equals no heavy armor. As barb you get con and dex to ac. Take a shield and use dual handcrossbows.
Finesse weapons can still use STR, and afaik there's no stat req for heavy armor in BG3, you just have to find a way to get proficiency in it.
>Heavy armor fricks with your stealth, which is stupid.
No it's not. Heavy armor is loud and hard to move in. It should absolutely mess with stealth.
Black. Stupid regarding his build plans. Clearly disadvantage for stealth is an acceptable game mechanic.
I didn't fall for the propaganda I fell for the shill....
Team RED sucks ass mate
got a problem with that bluboy?
I don't have any more beefcakes saved
haha gay, that means you have to top
>propaganda
Man, I'm here for the animal sex.
None of that shape-shifting cop out shit either.
humans are animals
>humans
yeah but those are boring animals
im talking about bear sex and feralshit
i wonder how many animals Swen will let me frick in BG3?
I already said false flagging, homosexual
>want to do my Bonk (barb/monk) build
>no Drunken Master
Have there been mods in EA that add subclasses?
change my mind; halfing/dwarf/gnome were waste of playable character slots, if they swapped these out for some interesting alternate races or lesser seen races the game would be improved
Learn game mechanics
i got over 100 hour in EA
'learn the game mechanics' he says
Then tell me how to extra break my build without halfings
I agree they dont really need halflings *and* gnomes
but how do you make a fantasy game without dwarfs?
dwarf only would be ok I just think don't need to be having all three of these when they could have put in something else
I want my free crit and nat 1 candies to hand out.
>interesting alternate races
Like what? Tabaxi? Githzerai? Aasimar?
Given the amount of furry interest in the game I'm surprised Tabaxis and Aarakocras aren't in
You're a fricking moron if you're playing this before the Enhanced Edition.
Is it gonna be cracked ASAP or is it going to have some denuvo shit
it's on gog
Which version do you want a link to? Give it the weekend and you'll be fine.
>review embargo until the minute of launch
OHNONONONO LARIANBROS DID WE GET TOO wienerY?????????
>release game earlier than agreed release date
>review embargo

>want to avoid starfield release
>game’s not ready

damn i still cant decide which fighter subclass i want to go for
us fitgirl enjoyers are gonna have to wait for a week at best.
>fitgirl
why? some russian tracker will probably have the game up in less than 30 minutes after release
don't have 250gb to download and install it.
why are you a third-worlder?
the shilling has been absolutely catastrophic
this better be the second coming of christ
this
i bought it the day it was made available and I dont understand why everyone is so worked up
I hope it means it'll be good
Because you can ethically frick a bear, duh
the new trailers do all have a worrying tinge of gay dating sim that I wasn't expecting
But why no dwarf companion? Even BG2 had one and he was the best party member
i want to play a character thats essentially a spellsword. i think hexblade lock was what i would play but since thats not available whats another good option?
Pact of the blade already gives you CHA scaling for weapon attacks, so you're not losing much from hexblade aside from maybe the RP factor.
8 HOURS
>game been in EA for 3 years
>hyped
shill harder, goy.
How strong is range combat? If you can climb over highland almost every fight would it be necessary to have one melee DD and range DD on highest difficulty setting?
Ranged combat is pretty OP. But with that said, there are lots of ways to be OP, so pick what looks cool
Remains to be seen. It's very good, but it doesn't seem to be as 'necessary' as it was in DOS 2
It's overpowered if you can get archery fighting style and sharpshooter.
Getting to high ground with the way Jumps as bonus actions work is trivial.
>will have to download gamu when I get back from work
With the Steam app I believe that you can remotely activate a download.
remote install
will this be the full release or a big early access update?
It is the full release
full release
Full release, with animal sex included!
you look at a surprising amount of furry porn for an ironic hateposter
>ironic hateposter
No, I'm just a furgay who enjoys feral, believe it or not.
I've never played any of the Baldur's Gate games, I just heard that this game has bestiality content and now I'm hype.
I'm sorry friend, you may be a bit dissapointed. Surely there are games made specifically for furgays like you?
do you think it will run on i5 4460
I'm running EA on an i5 2500k.
I'm gonna play as a troony
Are there really no facial sliders? How is this "the best character creator ever"?
>How is this "the best character creator ever"?
Caters to trannies and leftists with a bunch of tattoos, special snowflake hair and skin colors, various shitty side-cut style options, and a literal genital selector.
I'm glad you're so interested in the game. Have you bought it yet?
Yes, actually. I will be playing a human male wizard.
How big is the biggest dick you can have?
>mc wizard
>karlach as tankmelee
>shadow-heart as support
>astorian as second melee with OP hide mechanic
>with OP hide mechanic
Yeah I was surprised by that, you can literally just keep hiding as long as the enemy can't see you, lmao
it will now consumes an action instead of a bonus
I CAN'T WAIT TO GET GAYFRICKED BY THAT BIG homosexual BEAR, BEARSGAY3 BROS
Can you pick whether you're a bottom or top?
no
devs said it was homophobic
Ganker. The number 1 place to get your misinformation
What is the "Thunder" damage type supposed to be? It's not lightning, and it's not force. Is it just really loud noise damage? I have a hard time imagining that hurting as much as being lit on fire.
Sound. Imagine someone ringing a church bell with your head inside like in bugs bunny.
This is a sudden increase in air pressure. It's pure physical damage
>We now have a gay furry spammer
We are getting so close to release
>We are getting so close to release
And I'm so fricking hyped for it
I'm looking forward to seeing how much act 1 has changed, there is supposed to 30% more content than the EA version.
Can someone check in on the shitposters later today? I'm worried they might have a stroke.
yeah no, once this garbo releases I'll be in the woods for a week or two
Good
Baldur's Bear 3
How high is going tomorrow?
one MILLION.
between 300k and 600k
Six Gorrliians
Is Shadowheart a frontliner? Trickery domain only gets medium armor, correct?
not frontliner i'd say, more like something that can fill a gap when needed
at least that's how I was doing
Just find a suit of half plate and give her a shield.
All clerics are frontline because of spirit guardians.
>Baldur's.Gate.3-RUNE
>Baldur's.Gate.3-RUNE

I wonder how the Gayle romance will progress. Will he feel bad for cheating on his one true love?
Can you furry homosexuals frick off with your shitty fetish game already?
Can you conservatards go back to your fricking containment board already?
How long would this take to be pirated? I'm not gonna buy this dogshit.
It releases on gog so answer that yourself
It has no DRM so only as long as it takes for seeder count to go up.
If it's dogshit why even play it
Because he actually wants to but wants to seem cool on Ganker so he has to call it dogshit first and then he can say he's playing it ironically.
Last game Ganker shilled to me was Diablo 4 and I dropped that after I hit 70 and was the most boring shit. Ganker ain't gonna shill me again I'm gonna pirate this shit.
why would you play diablo 4 until level 70 if it was boring
are you moronic?
I was having fun unlocking cool shit then it just stopped and everything started getting slow and then blizzard started nerfing all the fun shit so I just dropped it.
>Game was so boring I played it until I practically finished it
>I hate Ganker shills so I'm going to do exactly what they want me to do
The frick is wrong with you
I hope it doesn't fall off badly in the later acts like Larian games usually do.
I really thought the missing class details would have leaked by now.
I can't wait for Baldur's Gate 3
I just can't believe that it's coming so soon, on August 3rd at 11:00AM EST
thanks fellow non-marketing person for this useful information!
>pc_global_launch_final_render.jpg
They're not even trying anymore, are they?
>falling for the most obvious bait on this website
ngmi
They have won. They ran the shilling for 30 days straight and the bear meme got positive traction.
It's so over.
Put dex to 10, lower your wis to get the points.
>Put dex to 10, lower your wis to get the points.
if he goes heavy armor he can keep low dex as dex modifier doesn't go into AC with heavy armor
It's unwise to dump just because you can't be certain you'll have full plate quickly, and wisdom is pretty worthless to a paladin since they add proficiency and cha mod to it anyway.
well, he wanted to fish for idiots and he caught one so good on him I guess
Guess the metacritic score on release
Does this look right? I never played DND.
Depends on what genitals you picked
Mate don't start playing now, your early access save file is going to be fricked in a few hours.
Just a class creator, he's not playing anything
I think
bg3builder.site
you dont need cha as a paladin do you?
you do, it's Paladin's spellcasting stat
or not, if you don't want your spells to work
oh shit
for some reason i thought paladins used wis for spell casting
Is the character creator good? Can I create a femboy?
Only if you put a penis on a female body. Some races have some nice twink faces though.
So yeah kind of
Feels a bit disappointing then, I want a male not a futa. Gonna check out the twink faces then
Half Drow had some nice ones. It's still prettyboy vs femboy though. Depends on your taste.
>Can’t change how fat/skinny/muscular your character is
Lame
I really hope Tabaxi will be in the release version.
It'll be in the release version. Trust the plan.
Is fighter incredibly basic? Torn between that and cleric.
Fighter is strong as frick. Follow your heart. People just call it boring because they don't have to do resource management like everyone else.
just play whatever you want. anything is viable.
Play and learn, there's an ingame respec merchant for when you want to fix/go meta tard
You can only respec, not reclass though right?
So choosing your class is important
no you can respec your class too, the only limitation is oathbreaker pally, which requires you to atone, based Swen said that they want the player to keep playing the game and being able to experiment
oh shit that's cool then
guess i will try out war cleric first if it suck i will switch to bard
the amount of people I see saying they're playing lore bards on Tactician is hilarious and I can't wait for 50% of them to wash out in the first 4 levels when their companions carry their corpse through every fight
Oh is it a bad class?
I'm planning to play Sword Bard though
no, but it does ass damage early on before you can set up some good item combos and it will NEVER match a martial or wiz/sorc/lock/cleric
It's a great class but people seem to talk like they're going to be Rogue+ (now with full spellcasting) and that's just not true
Just does zdps in a game where the general strategy is to nuke dangerous enemies off the field as soon as possible.
This is how 5e has always worked. What's to be seen is if you can do standard 5e broken multiclass nonsense like soradin.
No you can completely reclass. Except if you're an oathbreaker paladin. You have to sort out your oath first (2000 gold)
fem Dragonborn mods when?
I'm monitoring the situation even though I won't buy the game myself
I'm defs monitoring a few situations, if you know what i mean
Frick that. Is that site even usable now that Zippy is gone?
They're using gofile and 1f now, which works for me
freegogpcgames also is the same shit but have torrents if thats more to your speed
I was under the impression that that both those two are ass for big files unless you pay.
>torrent
Grug do love torrent.
Why are you losers so hyped about such an boring game?
how long until the torrent is up?
unless someone leaks, 30-1h after release
>Human
>Folk Hero
>Fighter
It's gaming time!
Norman Redus?
Kino would be make him a ragetard that thinks he's the hero but he keeps making all the wrong choices and gets everyone killed.
I just bought the "early access" version in preparation. Is it pointless to start now or will I just be able to continue when it officially releases?
Pointless m8
Thanks anons good to know. I assume saves from EA don't work in the full release then
>I assume saves from EA don't work in the full release then
Nope, they're telling everyone to manually delete everything related to EA because it might frick with the official release
Ah frick. So does that mean I just download the early access version for nothing? I thought it would just be brought to parity later on
Pretty much, you have to redownload the entire thing in a few hours again KEKKKKKKKK
Launch will probably be a major shit show too considering how D:OS2's went
pointless its like what t minus 7 hours?just wait like the rest of us
Coomers ruined the RPG genre
>You want to frick pretty girls?? FRICKING /misc/TARD
absolute state of you
Only an incel from /misc/ would be so insecure in his own masculinity that he refuses to even look at a somewhat handsome man.
Back to your containment board, moron:
>Homosexual and a furBlack person
Name a more iconic duo
Seethe harder, incel.
>Name a more iconic duo
True
I wonder why furrygays have so many homosexuals
/misc/ and trannies
When shit is this on the nose I assume it's false flagging.
I refuse to play this "game".
Larian doesn't respect gamers as proven by how ugly all the romanceable females are, while making the LGBT quota handsome.
This game is anti Ganker.
Is EA worth it for the digital deluxe package?
You get a dice skin, some typical bonus art and music freebies, and some in game items that you may or may not want. Just look it up. Might as well if you're buying it anyway.
Well, the alternative is piracy, but at 122 GB that seems like an ordeal.
its basically free skins and you pay less to avoid the release mark up theres no reason not to just grab the game now if your gonna play it there trying to give you free shit only late comers get fricked
Only get it if you're 100% playing the game either way.
If you're on the fence pre-ordering is always a bad idea.
>two weapon fighting battlemaster 3
>druid spores 3
>Berserk 6
thank me later
>Zerker 12
Me first
Is the build with polearm master,GWF, and sentinel all 12 levels of fighter so you can get all the required feats?
I don't see pam or sentinel in the feat list on the character builder some butthole mad so idk. I don't see resilient either which is sorta yikes.
she's so cute bros
>you do NOT get to stack from a multiclass are unarmored defense, extra attack, and uses of channel divinity. A 5th level paladin gets to make an extra attack when they take the attack action, and a 5th level barbarian gets to make an extra attack when they take the attack action. But a barbarian 5/paladin 5 does NOT get three attacks when they take the attack action (barring some external buff of some kind). Monk and barbarian unarmored defense do NOT stack, you get one or the other.
owltrannies status - BEARED
does anyone know how I can get the gog version at a cheaper regional price without making a whole new account?
I was just gonna pirate it but if it's $30 i'll buy it. not if I have to make a new account though.
vpn into russia
Clean your browser or use fresh one.
log into paypal.
switch VPN to Ukraine.
jump onto gog and login.
confirm 29.99 price, check out with paypal, and save.
Why VPN into Russia first?
cheaper currency, like usual
gog-games, freegogpcgames for the gog versions of the game
>cheaper currency, like usual
But that's already the case with Ukraine.
Why are the companions so fricking shit?
Because apparently Swen wanted to pander to feminist SJWs and trannies with this one
I hate all the fricking companions
Only Minsc and Jaheira are alright. That's because they are non-Larian.
Would it be based to respec the tiefling tomboy into a Monk?
ye
seeing as she is one of the crusaders from Avernus I can see Fighter, Paladin, or Barb working but monk is so off for her that I have to call it gay AND homo
thoughts?
Dump strength and put your wisdom up.
The only cha half feat to round your cha score is magic initiate warlock which sucks, so you could drop cha by one and fix your dumps or push wis up further so you maybe have a slim chance of succeeding wisdom saves.
>the only people genuinely hyped are literal homosexuals

How could this be?!
Hot lizards
Any new games is surpassing it
The question is how is it still so high after all theses years
>cheater gets banned
>creates new acc
>purchases new cs
Ever wondered why vac kills thousands of accs daily, but playercount never goes down?
I don't think that's it. it's skins.
Does this page consider skins? I thought it only cares about copies sold
it's top games in revenue
so, according to steam's global charts, BG3 has made more total revenue than CS:GO
Bc it’s a free game with mtx. All games with mtx are at the top bc paid games are mainly bought in the first month or on sale so the f2p games stick to the top when nothing comes out
because boomers are dying?
Todd leant Swen some of his charisma
Swen is more of a Richard Garriott
Nah, you lost.
About 60€ apparently.
Imagine being a homosexual lmao, literal genetic deadend.
>homosexual
You have an entire containment board, all to yourselves. Why do you insist on coming here and trolling? I know it's just 3 butthurt incels, but still.
You will never be accepted. Not here nor on any other board except
kys
>"Y-You will never be- ACK!"
The main audience for Larian's games has ALWAYS been LGBTQIA+ furries. It always has, it is now, and it always will be.
Cope, seethe, and dilate.
You literally serve no purpose in life
I mean, most of us would be happy if you both just fricked off/ ended it.
Nah, kys homosexual.
>tfw game releases at 5pm
At least I'm WFH so it'll be up once I'm finished today, and the download will give me some time to take a quick nap
Anyone here also going blind without having played the EA or looked at anything?
Is there a point in lowering any ability under 10? Doesn't seem like having a negative ability modifier is worth it, at least during first playthrough.
Extra points to spend elsewhere. Do you really need int as a barb? Not really
What about all the intelligence checks in the game?
Bring the wizard or wear the headband.
Can you select a character to do specific checks in dialogue?
Have your Wizard friend do them. Do you really think 1 point is going to save you?
Dumpstats still matter. If you're -1 in 3/4 categories you will be stunned, sleeped, and charmed, or thrown around like a ragdoll a lot more.
You just dump 1 category. 2 absolute max. Anyone dumping 3+ is suicidal
It lets you raise other stats further since this runs on 27 point buy.
You only get 3 ability score increases in this game so it's a big deal to have a good spread.
If you're a multiclass you also frick over your ability score increases because you won't get the final one at 12th level.
A level 12 soradin is significantly weaker than a level 14 one.
>pick beast master
>boar is cool
>bear is cool
>but pick raven and send that homie flying around and it doesn't cost an action
>stealth behind some gay
>hit him with blinding strike from stealth
>now the ranger gets advantage against him
it's just that easy
In less than 7 hours Waifuheart's feet will be covered with my spit while I lick them clean.

Shit game
It will also boost initiative, it will also let you cast hunters mark to deal even more damage with each hit.
>it's a single attack
every single round
Consider that you gave up fighter 11 for this, which is the same thing without action surge or haste.
What did you get in exchange? Expertise and cunning action.
It's not good no matter which way you shake it.
How bad would the dialog be if your CHA is low as frick
this isn't Kingmaker or older games. CHA checks are actually much less than INT ones, and INT ones are lower than WIS ones.
You can't do em all, and sometimes party members will do the talking if they're closer, so in all honesty just don't worry about it.
Hell, barb and bard get a ton of class based dialogue that you don't get unless you are one.
>can't do em all
Look at him, not playing Lore Bard. Laugh at him, while you are at it.
>does no damage in combat
>cc fails vs Tactician mobs like always
>dies
at least I have muh music........
>magical secrets: fireball, also dissonant whispers or tasha's and AoOs before that, and Larian surfacemancy with trick crossbow bolts even before that
>cutting words fix defense problems
>healing word provides all the healing you need in 5e
>song of rest cleans up resource management
Because if you shove someone into a pit you lose the loot you inbred frick. God damn I forgot how many idiots are on Ganker
I’m simply not hyped
sucks to be you because I am and everyone else seems to be
too bad, piss off
I want to play Bard/Rogue with swords
any good combinations?
college of swords bard
I can't wait to play a psychotic monk and kill all those shitty fricking characters with my bare fist.
Can't wait to build yet another stealth archer
same but human warrior
Schizomaxxers, where are we at?
>GOO Warlock
>The Dark Urge
>Tadpolemaxxing
>High Half Elf
>PVengeance (2), Warlock (3), maybe Berzerker (3)
You have to go paladin 6 or it's a waste.
Have fun playing melee with 12 strength unless you can luck gauntlets early.
Generally when people play low strength paladin multiclasses they use devotion so you can at least make a lightsaber if you can't hit something.
but by going pact of the blade my charisma will be used for melee (20 at the end)
>500 hours in underrail
>like original sin (and divinity games in general)
>can't bring myself to play older crpgs or pathfinder at all
>hate d20 to hit
no idea if I am going to love or hate this game
>500 hours in underrail
>hates 95% hit chance
huh
>enemy has 8 AC (average)
>have +3 to hit from stats (pretty normal)
>80% to hit
in videogames you can easily do a months worth of combat tabletop wise in a sitting fighting things with fricking dogshit chances to hit
it's not even that uncommon for a full round to pass where everyone misses their attacks
>80%
>dogshit chances
I don't think you know the meaning of the expression. Imagine playing a stealth sniper in underrail with 100% hit chance. Every turn you KNOW you can delete an enemy, no risk.
>fight an enemy with 12AC (not even that crazy)
>60%
wow goodbye
>an enemy
You're not taking into account advantage and other modifiers that improve your hit chance. That being said, the game is based on a TTG ruleset, so accepting randomness is unavoidable.
>pic related
God that reminds me that I need to do another playthrough, SMG build with spec ops and grenadier is so based.
if I play again I'll probably dick around with energy weapons
is the darkness+devils sight meme in this game?
no friends to grief doing it
>is the darkness+devils sight meme in this game?
Probably good during a solo playthrough, otherwise you'd have to build your entire party around it or you'd be griefing yourself.
darkness gang sounds fun
I don't think people realize how gimped their multiclass autism builds are going to be.
Also lul at people dumping WIS in a game with mind flayers.
So how bad of an idea would a Necro/Bard be? I'm guessing undead can't be inspired.
Citation needed
I will multiclass and you will not stop me. Frick you.
Do the higher difficulties just add more enemies or make them smarter with their decisions or does it pump stats? I’m not going to up the difficulty if everything is just going to start rocking +8 to every resistance or some shit
I'm not sure if their stats change at all, but they mentioned enemies will start targetting your backline and shit like that instead of just mindlessly running into the first thing they see.
>or make them smarter with their decisions
They get a better AI and spell scrolls/consumables
Higher difficulty changes their tactics to attack down your squishy peeps like you normally do to them.
Also gives them better weapons, like explosive arrows. Might change/add enemies to some encounters.
Kind of like a whole other game mode.
what about taking 2 levels of lock on lore bard to add in a very strong range damage component. Because you're lore you still the 6th level's secret and lose out on 11, sure, but that level you then get three beams so I don't think you'll feel so badly abou tit
Delays bard spells for too long. May as well play a full lock.
full lock is completely pointless
Works super well in this game and better than normal bard leveling because e. blast is strong. At level 3 or 4 or whenever you can, respec to take bard first for the proficiency, then 2 lock, then continue on as bard. Blast carries you and you'll have spells before you know it and you can skip all the single target damage ones.
could you do me a favor and not download the game at launch? I want to play it before I have to go to bed.
>composer is already uploading the OST on his Youtube channel
nice
It's up
>GRID Hispanic has resorted to false flagging as a fricking furry
That’s even more sad than his appearance
all the stuff ITT people are talking about multiclassing is shit that works in the PnP so I am not sure where you are getting that they're going to be gimped comes from.
>Is the giant file size the ultimate DRM?
kinda, yeah. At some point when you're not dirt poor your time becomes worth a lot more than 60 dollarydoos
bear jesus approves it
>cs.rin.ru
it's up
best sites to pirate it? no russians
Haste isn't the only bullshit you can twin, there's greater invis and that will probably be the go-to for tactician so you don't get turbobonked.
>tactician
I'm sort of treating it like OS1 and 2 in my head where you wanted 0 or 1 melees ideally, erring on the side of 1 for now.
It's just not that powerful compared to 14+ tbh
can anyone tell me what the champion subclass for fighter is like?
More crits, basically
The most bland class, but crits. Battlemaster but without any of the cool sword attacks
Should cleric do all 12 levels as cleric or is a 1-2 fighter level dip good for heavy armor and action surge?
Dont some cleric subclasses already get hravy armor?
And dont know the higher level cleric spells in this game but you would lose out on those if you 2dipped for action surge.
War Cleric is the only one that gets Heavy armor proficiency, and they also get martial weapons.
Remember to play whatever the frick you want, you can respec later if you build is trash
I recommend playing on balanced first playthrough
then play at the hardest difficulty as Dark Urge
this is the way to play
if it's anything like dos2 playing on balanced is gonna trivialize everything because it's the modern audiences difficulty.
is this any decent for a two weapon fighting fighter?
>wood-gay
yes
i'd figure two weapon fighting might require more dex but i've also never fricked with anything regarding dnd so i wouldn't really know
why do you want that much dex just use plate armor
