A tier: Sorcerer, Monk

BALDUR'S GATE GAME >>>>>>>> EVERY BETHESDA GAME EVER!!!
I'm so fricking sick of Starfield. Bethesda games are often held up as "the best ever", and Starfield has plastered this board. Oh cool, yet another Bethesda game that just looks and feels like a copy of every other Bethesda game. I don't get the hype for these over games with new and interesting combat mechanics like Baldur's Gate 3, the fact that Ganker pretends Baldur's Gate 3 is a bad game is proof that this board doesn't really care about videogames anymore.
Starfield looks exactly like every other Bethesda game. Meanwhile, Baldur's Gate 3 is:
>Full of content
>No DLC or MTX, a finished product from day 1
>More weapons, build options and personalization than ever before
>More enemy variety than pretty much every game in the series, makes the previous game look like a prototype in comparison
>Loads of amazing bosses and mini bosses, some secret and plenty in sidequests
>Sidequests have been fixed, it's no longer just doing what some ghost tells you, now most are almost just as good as main story content
>You get to explore every realm, the world feels more alive than ever, no longer does the game feels like roaming a desolated wasteland Shadow of the Colossus style thanks to plenty of NPCs.
>New Game+ will be added to the game soon enough to have even more fun.
Overall an impressive feat and when anyone expresses love for it, you homosexuals rip on them.
From a game design perspective, Bethesda games just feel lazy to me, reused assets, reused mechanics, it really doesn't offer anything new and im not sure if i should laugh at those thoundans of players people who bought this absolute garbage of a game or sad because that many people bought this absolute garbage of a game.
is this pasta? it looks like pasta
in any case, BG3 has the weakest class building of any modern crpg
It's all Tencent bots, anon
Probably the most underwhelming game of the year. Even TOTK's bird puzzles had more depth than the combat system of bg3. rng attack rolls is the dumbest shit, turn based or no
Witcher 3 is down the hall anon. You posted in the wrong thread.
That's not a witcher 3 thread, silly.
holy yikes, he can't even contain his autism to this website?
Hey buddy, I think you've got the wrong thread, the Witcher 3 general is two pages down.
>a finished product from day 1
Lol
Lmao
There's a difference between "the game has cut content" and "the game is unfinished." For example:
>Knights of the Old Republic - Has cut content.
>Knights of the Old Republic II - Is unfinished.
And 9 times out of 10, the cut content is cute content for a reason.
I respect Shartfield shills more, they are just paid indian shills spamming mindlessly and there aren't many of them. But you BG3 shills, you are trannies from huge organized Discord servers, shilling the game all day for free in an attempt to force lgbtq acceptance in games.
You are truly, truly pathetic.

troony game
I still find it funny how much 5e went out of its way to shit on wizards
Diviner and Transmuter are pretty good in BG3.
How?
Martials became "I hit" classes while casters can do all the fun and gamebreaking shit and also be the faces.
Also WoTC bans anyone hat even dare to suggest that martials should be superhuman to the shadow realm
I don't know about in tabletop, but in BG3 with all the magic weapons and +attack gear martials are just flat out better than casters. Casters are still strong but the sheer damage you do as a martial is insane.
Yeah fr fr no cap. At level 8, Gale is lucky to do 30 damage with a direct hit. Meanwhile Bae'Zel is doing 100+
In the TT fighters have one of the highest damage just due to sheer amount of attacks
But does itreally matter that you can hit really hard when wizards can summon entire fortresses or insta kill a boss at the same level?
BG3 did us a huge favor capping at level 12 , casters ramp up moronicly after this point
in act 3 i was doing 600 damage a turn with my storm sorcerer as long as it was an aoe fight (so just about every fight)
the frick are you all doing wrong?
Maybe in BG3 but in 5e everyone complains that they’re OP
lmao what? they're literally the most versatile class in the game. they have two spells that literally just win you combat.
Not sure about the videogame adaptation of it, but 5e Diviners are fricking busted on tabletop. They went from the specialist school nobody played for 3 editions to the one everyone insisted upon, even upsetting the conjurer. I think maybe Transmuter gets a lot of love generally across all editions.
One if the prospective changes for 6e is a universal spellcasting stat, which would go a long way toward balancing the pure casters.
I think that'd be a negative.
Having different stats for different magicians adds a lot of color.
I think a larger spread for the martial classes would be a better move.
Like in BG3, despite Monks supposedly being the mind>muscle martial class, just pumping as much as you could into strength with Tavern Brawler is still the best option for DPR.
Enchantment wizard's buffed Magic Missile is way too good for how braindead it is to use, honestly, and beyond that not having to concern myself with hurting my allies with AoE is never not convenient. This is more end-game related, but the ability to write some of the unique spell scrolls you get from Lorroakan's Tower can buff them considerably (particularly the spell that is essentially a super MM)
Isn't it just the limited level range of BG3 mostly?
The story ends with the characters still being middle of the road within the setting, when mages don't blow up until very late.
The game ends coincidentally at the proper level for Wizards to be about as useful-equivalent to fighters, and removes a lot of the incredibly busted RP spells. Honestly, martials need more but you don't notice that in bg3
>using tiers
Play whatever you like, i am going with a Cleric/Wizard/Sorcerrer mix right now.
Ok now do this but for subclasses instead because those are more important.
>take 2 levels of fighter for sorcerer
>get action surge
>become a walking nuke
Giving up 2 caster levels for that is kinda not worth it. You can already pre-cast haste for an extra action on all your turns, and use quicken to cast another spell per round.
>more fireballs
>not worth it
ayy
the actual list
S tier: Sorcerer, Bard
A tier: Warlock, Fighter, Wizard, Monk
B tier: Cleric, Druid, Paladin, Barbarian
C tier: Ranger, Rogue
>rogue C tier
This has to be bait.
Beyond the Thief, the other Rogue subclasses leave a lot to desire.
Assasin and Arcane Trickster are also great. People just don't know how to play them properly.
Arcane trickster is abysmal
The kit have no interactions with actually playing a rogue and illusions are shit in bg
>The kit have no interactions with actually playing a rogue
Did you even play the game?
>all the mobility rituals
>darkness and fog
>INVISIBILITY
>knock
>arcane lock
>familiar and magehand
>misty step
Just play a fricking sorcerer at that point, I guarantee you will be doing more
Gishes are shit in bg3
lvl 11 Arcane Trickster as well as all rogues get Reliable Talent, Sorcerer does not cut it, people who say that arcane trickster is bad have not played it or got filtered
>go 11 levels in a meme class so you can be guaranteed to open locks
I kneel. AT is too powerful
>try to open a treasure chest/door
>fail the roll
>use my godly chim powers to turn back time and press F5
>open locks
moron, it affects way more than that
Imagine failing a lockpick roll at level 11, when you can just stack advantages and roll 50 like its nothing
Imagine lockpicking at all when the 1% of locks that can't be bashed open can be handled by anyone with a wizard dip without any risk of failure
Im all for thrashing rogues, but if you are casting knock on every chest you are being very inneficient
>casting knock on every chest
Did you miss the part where I mentioned bashing them open and only using knock on the few locks where you literally can't damage the door?
You have a chance to lose items by destroying the chests instead of opening
No you don't
>can't bypass the Selune riddle
>can't open counting house vaults
To be fair, if you happen to roll a 1 it doesn't matter because it's an automatic failure, just like how a 20 is an automatic success. Crits on dice rolls is fricking stupid.
>leveling 11 rogue levels to get reliable talent
Black person not even rogues go pure rogue
That's their mistake. Pure rogue is the way to go in BG3.
Rogues only purpose in bg3 is lockpicking and dipping level 3 thief
And by level 6 even gale is capable of reliably do those
Rouge 3 and Gloom stalker ranger does all that without being shit
So arcane trickster does everything a rogue is supposed to be doing normally, but with spells.
Arcane Trickster does everything a rogue is supposed to be doing poorly but also with spells
It's the worst option of the three rogue subclasses
If you want a spellcasting rogue it's better to go with thief and multiclass a spellcasting class to get your spells
>class is shit because im not able to incorporate all 3 into my party
why the frick are you trying to roll 3 rogues?
I dunno, I didn't feel like I was contributing much as rogue astarion but changed him to dual wield vengeance paladin and will regularly do 80 damage off a single divine smite
Rogue starts off pretty good because of sneak attack but falls off hard. It's good as a subclass for a bunch of classes because of the extra bonus action though.
Now do the same for multiclassing
are we doing tier list of fun or viability
>Ranger, Rogue
>C tier
Yeah I hate getting to instant kill 3 enemies a turn from a million miles away, shit sucks to be honest.
what exactly makes Druid so bad in bg3?
Because in 5e tabletop isn't Druid like an extremely broken strong class with how good wildshape is?
Equipment is busted from mid to lategame
Idk about TT druid since I never play it, but bg3 the wildshape forms are kinda lackluster tbh
It's fun turning into a kitty cat, get some funny dialogue reactions
>what exactly makes Druid so bad in bg3?
A bad spell list, limited wildshape options and mediocre class features
>Because in 5e tabletop isn't Druid like an extremely broken strong class with how good wildshape is?
5e gives you a massive amount of options for wildshape that can help you with roleplay as well as combat
The combat options more or less exist in BG3 as well although I think they nerfed some of them compared to their tabletop counterpart, but more importantly the versatility wildshape gives you for roleplaying doesn't translate to a videogame at all
No equipment interactions and no good feat interactions beside tavern brawler with wildshape, so you're just a big health blob with shit AC and two mediocre attacks.
Caster druid is just shit compared to a cleric or any full caster. Bad spell selection. I'd rather cast a single hunger of hadar than any one of the shit "vine on ground" spells druid has
imagine thinking wizard and druid are c tier.
go back to the circus.
Druid is an inferior cleric
Wizard is an inferior sorcerer
>Druid is an inferior cleric
This is what someone who never played Druid would say. Druid have a ton of utility with their shapeshifting and great unique spells.
>shapeshifting
Congrats, now you're an inferior fighter without gear
Shapeshit outside of combat, dumbass for the added mobility and the unique paaths you can access while shapeshifted into a small creature, moron.
nta, but using jaheira and halsin really made me think combat shapes are shit, even the owlbear shape hit like a wet noodle and I only use them for casting
Aside from that, mist form is better for using tiny holes and all cast classes can cast that
if you have jaheira and halsin you can just go for summoning two elementals and two driads that will summon their own people
the high tier elementals hit like a truck
At what lvl do you get mist form, moron? Why would you waste mist form when you can transform into a cat without losing a spell slot?
>spell slots
>mattering
just sleep d00d
Oh boo hoo I lost a spell slot (that can be replenished by sorcerers, wizards and an item) in exchange I dont have to waste a character slot for a subpar caster and fighter
woe is me
Moon Druid is disgustingly busted.
Moon druid is the worst druid. It’s just a worse fighter.
Cast rain and use storm myrmidon, you can even dip into to fighter to free cast rain and one other spell THEN shape-shift THEN do 12 attacks in a row that do AOE damage.
most people are too dumb to do that
That sounds funny. I was wanting to do a full rain and storm team if I did another solo run, so I’ll try it out.
they haven't nerfed any of the zap strats and i hope they never do
Literally no reason to play a wizard. Their subclasses are shit.
Youre joking, right? Divination wizard is one of the most broken things lol
Maybe actually look at the subclasses and what they do before you talk
does nothing other classes can't do better. delusional freak
>Only 1 spell per turn
It's shit
Have to break this down by subclass, esp considering you spec into subclasses so early.
Wizard is S tier at max level
I went ranger to have cool animal companions, did I frick up boys
Ranger is solid but just so you know in order to get the most from the Beastmaster you must avoid multiclassing because your pet relies on your ranger lvl.
Can I get tips on building a monk? I was thinking about doing a build that uses tavern brawler combined with hill giant strength potions to set your STR to 21, and then being able to pump up Dex/Wis/Con. How quickly can you start getting hill giant strength potions and should I multiclass at all or just go for pure Monk? Obviously getting Action Surge from fighter seems strong, but I don't know if that fricks up monk.
> I was thinking about doing a build that uses tavern brawler combined with hill giant strength potions to set your STR to 21, and then being able to pump up Dex/Wis/Con. How quickly can you start getting hill giant strength potions
Open hand monk with tavern brawler is very strong. You can get hill giant potions almost immediately iirc. Auntie Ethel sells them in the Grove. Don't forget there's gloves in late game that set your dex to 18 so don't be afraid to leave it at 12 or 14 and then respec later
>and should I multiclass at all or just go for pure Monk? Obviously getting Action Surge from fighter seems strong, but I don't know if that fricks up monk.
The optimal multi class is thief which gives you an extra bonus action so you can attack 4 times every turn without any extra help. Berserker dip is also good since you're going tavern brawler so you can rage and get extra damage and frenzied throw and improvised weapon boosts.
Fighter is fine but kinda unnecessary, Monk doesn't get action surge but it does have plenty of attacks and already has selfhhealing
>Thief
Interesting, I hadn't considered that but yeah the extra bonus action seems real good. Berserker dip doesn't seem too bad either, but I am a bit worried about feats. You do need to get to Monk 5 for the extra attack, right?
Would it be something like 8 Open Hand/4 Thief? But with a berserker splash I feel like you'd have to go 5 Monk/4 Thief/3 Berserker or something like that and miss out on a feat.
Is that better than just abusing hill giants strength potions? Because you're also giving up Unarmored Defense which lets you add your Wisdom to your AC, with the idea of being stacking Dex/Wis for tons of AC and then just having your strength be 21 because of the potions.
Heavy armor > Unarmored defense. Remember you can wear a shield in your offhand too.
You can easily have 21 AC at the start of act 1 instead of having to beg for scraps with ASI's and 18 DEX gloves. You can wear useful gear like 1d4 unarmed damage gloves instead.
You can do this and still use hill giants until you get enough feats to have 20 STR, one doesn't exclude the other.
Also monk 6 gets the magic attacks, monk 8 doesn't really get anything better than dipping 2 fighter instead for action surge (and heavy armor).
You can use a shield + fist and still do the 10,000 monk attacks per turn?
Yes, only requirement is main hand empty.
The build is completely disgusting and you need no elixirs to make it work.
Intredasting. What order are you taking these in? Because dipping fighter early to get the heavy armor mastery means delaying the extra attack and tavern brawler feat, but it is probably necessary if you're only at 10 dex.
I started as fighter 1 and went monk on level 2.
So you will be a level behind everyone else's extra attacks.
Until you hit monk 4 for the feat you are pretty useless and will have to let stronger teammates carry you. I recommend just using a weapon anyways early, or leveling pure fighter and respeccing, because it was not super fun to force the build early.
I would just go 9 monk 3 thief and miss out on the extra feat. Advanced unarmored movement is as good as mobile barring the opportunity attack dodge
Do open hand monk 6 with tavern brawler, fighter 2, thief 4.
Fighter gives heavy armor proficiency and wearing it only removes the bonus monk movement speed, you get to keep the rest. Wear it and keep DEX at 10, useless stat.
Initiative is a D4 in this game for some reason so any odd +1 initiative gear will outweigh having 10 DEX.
Pump STR and CON and the rest in WIS for saves and such.
I think going Fighter just for the Armor pseudo-exploit is missing the point of playing a monk.
1 barbarian dip also lets you skip wisdom, since their unarmored defence traits don't stack.
>druid c tier
didn't read I'm a birrrddddd
frick you I fly around and steal stuff. I solve problems with creativity and diplom-AAACKKK
Jaheira as owlbear literally solves all problems with prone. Turns my 30% hit chance to 95%.
>what is fighter trip attack
Class sucks
>What does AoE stand for?
Flying very long distances to jump into a crowd and knock them all down is based. You need to try again.
A monk has better mobility and can do the same shit while not getting hit.
Do classes get anything other than an extra feat at level 12? Is there a real reason to not just multiclass?
Depends on the class. Warlocks get another spell and another patron effect.
A lot of classes get just the feat though
imagine using the easiest, overpowered classes in an already easy as frick game. you prob mod it too, don't you, shitter?
Not only do I mod more perks per level and buffed classes, but I also use WeMod to make myself invincible and have infinite actions.
I put paladin in A tier.
The reason is not power, its convenience. Having your main character have high carry capacity and strong conversation skills just removes a lot of annoyance.
Mechanically its pretty solid, you can solo Raphael on tactician without needing hold monster (he is dead turn 1, the cleanup of the rest depends).
the leveling is fricking garbage
>thief
>you have advanced to level 4
>you have now more hp
>druid
>YOU HAVE LEVELED UP
>HERE, SELECT 4 MORE SPELLS
>ALSO SELECT A BONUS SPELL BASED ON YOUR NATURE
>SELECT A BONUS CANTRIP
>ALSO SELECT WHICH TRANSFORMATION WILL BE ENHANCED
>you can now shapeshift into a dinosaur
Just finding out DnD hates martials? It was a game made by scrawny nerds, what did you think would happen?
Back in the day Martials were kings. Towards the end of 2e Casters were coming into power, and then 3e abruptly threw Martials into the fricking garbage before 3.5e took a fat shit in the trash can.
Pathfinder is based on 3.5 isn't it? Are martials any better there?
yeah but all those things are shit compared to more hp and sneak attacking so it doesn't really matter.
uhh actually at level 4 thief gets a feat, not just a flat hp increase
And then the Thief is using two hand crossbows and kills the druid with ranged sneak attacks lmao
ughhh sweetie
thief only get one sneak attack
It’s satisfying when you get a crit on a range sneak and clean up those last few hp with the nouns attack.
>tf when playing a moronic dex range paladin for laughs.
>with duel hand crossbows he is clearing fights better that bonk Paladin.
This is just fricking dumb, more so with the hand cross bow that has a 1d4 force damage, combine that with the acid and physic damage ring and you are hitting 20+ dmg followed by another 15+ and armies fall. I’m trying to avoid fielding a whole team built to use them.
It's like you people didn't even play the game. What happens when you hit them for 45hp and they have 50? On their turn they transform to a 100hp monster and now you don't have sneak attack. Even if you kill them in their beast form they can transform once more with full hp. One of these classes is balanced and the other is not.
>100 hp monster with 16 or so AC
>50 hp martial with 23 AC
I'll let you figure out which is best
I want you to know that this debate is cringe af
Literally *teleport behind you* tier
>Anon says this game isn't good because devs prefer one class to another
>Anon lists the benefits of one class compared to another
>More anons complain that his "benefits" are useless and that he needs to read tooltips to understand that the game is actually balanced
>Another anon claims that the game is still unbalanced due to specifics of the class rather than attack power
>two separate brainlets decide to quit entirely because calling something "cringe" is easier than refuting it
If you want to say that none of this matters because the game is easy, just say so. It makes you sound a lot more intelligent than running away with your tail between your legs.
>running away with your tail between your legs
get out of your head you fricking larper. Maybe people have better things to do than discuss why druid sucks with a guy who unconditionally loves druids
>Thief
>wearing paladin tier armor to get 23AC
Ah I didn't know we were minmaxing anon. Why shouldn't that apply to the druid too?
Because your gear doesn't work when shapeshifted so there's not much to minmax. But as
said the debate really is cringe so i'm stopping here
doesn't matter
now come here, you're getting prone'd
Sure, that is true.
But, you just put your thief in the corner and abuse the sneak attack nukes.
Anon, I would frick your Tav, if you wouldn't object.
>go Eldritch Knight for a throwing build since it has weapon bond
>Act 1 has the returning pike, Act 3 has Nyrulna
Frick. Guess it's just shit compared to Berserker/Thief
Eldritch knight is up there with arcane trickster in the shit bin
The only reason bladelock dont get put in the bin is that it has access to eldritch blasts
Get the greatclub from act 2 that gives you advantage on all attacks while drunk
This applies to throwing a bound weapon and even applies to spells that require attack rolls
The ultimate gish weapon that everyone has been sleeping on
Just going into Eldrich Knight for bound weapon is not the way, you also need the INT. You can in fact have 20 STR and 20 INT as an Eldrich Knight lvl 12.
>wizard
>sorcerer
>warlock
you can tell this game (and presumably DnD) is complete garbage just by the existence of so many variants that in any other sane game would be 1 thing
yeah bro we should have two classes only
>man with sword
>man with staff
not to mention the amount of subclasses wizard has. warlock could easily be a wizard subclass. they just want an excuse to let people pass charisma checks while also having their spells scale off it.
Go back to your jrpgslop
Classes that exist as gradients of each other are good.
If anything other classes like Fighter could be broken down similarly.
tbh 6e could put all martials into a single class and allow you to build whatever the frick you want, mixing all martials traits as building blocks
Having a class entirely based around "oy now im pissed m8" is moronic
The value is that it lets the tabletop developers balance around the concept of a class instead of relying on a game's DM (or a video game development team) to have to do it all on their own.
Sure barbarians can be accounted for within the umbrella of fighters, but it makes things easier to set them as a separate class with their own specific limitations that let a DM plan around them. Rather than having to improvise when a player sits at their table and says, "I want to be a fighter that relies on his sheer anger to power through everything, ugga-dugga!"
Clerics are the best class.
Should I upgrade my 2060 6GB to a 4070 so I can play BG3 with the best graphics? I feel like its deserving of it
>tier list
Who cares, the game is easy as frick
Fighter is good from L2, gets great at L5, and doesn't *need* to multiclass.
Monk is S-Tier at endgame.
Sorceror is good by L5 but benefits from a Warlock dip for more Sorceror points.
Bard is good throughout.
Barbarian gets broken with good throwing weapons and you can solo the Gith'yanki patrol as a L5 Berserker on Tactician.
Wizard is worse than Sorceror.
Paladin, Oath of Vengeance is A Tier with Warlock dip.
Druid is S-Tier in Act 3 as Circle of Spores because of 100% haste uptime.
Rogue is the worst class and is best for Thief or Assassin dip as Monk/Barbarian/Gloomstalker.
Cleric is just solid, but Tempest can carry early game.
Endgame - Battlemaster Fighter, Sorlock, Thief Monk, Thief Berserker, Circle of Spores Druid, Thief/Assassin Gloomstalker.
At what level should you dip into warlock as paladin?
After 5 so you get extra attack
IIRC you get your second attack as paladin at level 5 so after that dip into warlock.
7 Paladin/5 Warlock for 3 attacks per turn unless they nerfed Pact of the Blade.
If Blade Pact is still bugged. Level 5 Warlock then all in Paladin.
You need the Bond Weapon at Level 3 ASAP for the + attack if you have no points in STR.
At what point is it good to dip into Warlock as a Sorcerer? I'm new to magic shit in general
Sorlock is not really worth it you need 2 levels of warlock to get what you want (eldritch invocations to boost eldritch blast) and you will be missing level 11 sorcerer AND level 6 spells
Its really not a good trade in bg3, its better in TT since you are not locked at level 12
You can start as soon as level 4 or what ever level you can get the quickening sorcery, after level 2 of Warlock and getting the Blast boosts, you can juggle back and forth, it’s a question of what build you want, like Coffeelock or EB machine gun, etc.
I don't know how good it is but War Cleric is really fun, being able to switch between multi-attacks and support and summoning different flavors of familiar to fight alongside you is rad
You now understand that Cleric is storngest D&D class.
It’s not the best Cleric, but even the middling clerics are still pretty buff. Clerics are the strongest class in 5e.
I never seem to know how to use Clerics right.
I even respecced Shadowheart into a War Cleric, but I still seem to inherently default to using her like a Wizard. Just sitting in the back and blasting with lasers.
I know I should put her in the front, but she just seems to do more damage more easily with spells than melee, without having to burn turns buffing herself first.
Clerics are not great frontline characters, having a single attack makes them bad at it later on and if you invest heavy into fighter or paladin, might aswell go pure fighter or paladin
They are great casters though
She's got heavy armor proficiency if you went war
Even if you don't respec her trash stats you can just run around with spirit guardian active
What’s the ultimate action pointmaxxing build?
gloomstalker/thief/fighter? or berserker instead of gloom for throwing
I think its a monk-thief-fighter build
What wizards can do that a sorcerer can't? I feel like i'm gimping myself by going wizards honestly, specially because they do not use charisma
Cast Magic Missile for 200 damage.
Wizards get access to basically every spell in the game and their subclass shit like divination or free spell sculpting.
You do lose out not having CHA like you said though so its a trade off
There also just seems to be gear that directly benefits Sorcerers by giving you bonuses to casting or AC based on CHA, but there doesn't seem to be much like that for INT.
there is also the ogre headband in act 1 that gives you 17 INT straight
it's a shit stat, just like DEX
Wizards can learn literally every spell, and they can change their spell loadout at-will. But you don't really need every spell so.
Wiz learns way more spells than sorc. Sorc can metamagic the few spells it does know, but sometimes having access to every spell in the game is good. Divination wiz is also really funny, because you can force an enemy to fail a save. If you want a Tav that’s just good at talking though sorc will always be better for that.
If this was TT, having the capacity of learning any spell is huge
Since BG3 removed a lot of the real nasty spells, or spells that couldnt be translated into a crpg, it is not that awesome
So yeah, wizards lose to sorcerers in bg3
Being able to scout encounters more easily and swap spells any time out of combat is still a huge benefit. I wouldn't keep Gaseous Form or Wall of Ice in a permanent slot but sometimes they save the day
nothing, frick wizards. Sorcerer is the best for dmg or for utility with a dip. Cleric/bard/sorcerer is a great support with healing and for twinning haste (con prof with sorcerer) and for dmg you can go with tempest cleric for max dmg lightning bolt/chromatic orb, with warlock or with fighter for fireball spam
Paladins got fricked lmao
Good, that palatard idiot that was seething about the game being easy is probably crying now
Game is easy with every class. I miss DOS2 Honor Mode kino
https://files.catbox.moe/vc4wd4.mp4
Not lore accurate.
>dudes with literal tentacle mouths
>not tentacle porn
what a waste
Where’s my “the emperor breaks froggy’s mind” porn at?
>ranger horde slayer
>Think you get to strike any number of enemies around the target
>turns out its only one
This is shit, actually, Ranger is shit
This class is doomed in any iteration of it holy shit
it literally says its 2 creatures bro
gloomstalker builds are strong
>pick the meme subclass
>gets meme'd on
Working as intended
Rangers aren’t really a meme in bg3. It’s not like they’re using the unusable versions of those subclasses from early 5e.
beast master for infinite web is good
gloomstalker is really strong
hunter? yeah that's dogshit
you get to strike any number of enemies around the target
Why? It specifically tells you that it's two targets.
Bard/Rogue multiclass is so much fun
Does monk get any special weapons like spiked knuckles or something?
nah
you have a lot of support items and cool armor tho
Gay as frick.
LOTS of armor but no weapons
monk gets tons of gear that i feed to gale
You get gloves that give extra damage with unarmed attacks but they're not a weapon.
If you're willing to go quarterstaff monk there actually are a bunch that do synergize well with the class. Auntie Ethel sells a decent one right at the beginning in the grove.
>quarterstaff
That's even gayer.
Depends. Fist weapons no. If you consider quarterstaffs or polearms monk weapons then there's tons.
They get boots that have misty step every cast no rest of any kind but you’re strip naked every teleport.
only in act 3 for some reason
>get weapon master feat
There, now any weapon is special for you
Electric gloves.
Wait until you learn about multiclassing.
I have never been able to beat any D&D CRPG as a wizard; not any of the BG's, IWD, NWN2 etc, just can't hack it being such a useless sticc getting bodied in the beginning of the game and struggling for every spell. Should I just go Sorc in BG3?
Sorc still have the problem of having a d6 at the start of the game. Warlocks have a d8 and are easier but still casters, so you could try those.
You should just git gud at this point because, what the frick Black person?
Just use party members with classes that don't suck ass early
S+ tier: Death Knight
I saw this mod and was excited, then i saw the mod creator implemented it with homosexual "x% chance to trigger x which triggers x" garbage that should stay in an MMO.
There's enough dice rolling in the game as is, don't need a class built around it.
Lame. Could work if there was a "Gambler" class.
>the homebrew class is overpowered
wow what a surprise
Been trying to make my own jank multiclass death knight approximation that usually ends up being some sort of eldritch knight/warlock or wizard mess
Try oathbreaker paladin, it fits the fantasy pretty well. Lots of necrotic damage, huge weapon swings, undead minions. Oathbreaker 7/Blade warlock 5 feels pretty death knight to me
The game is easy enough, you using mods to increase your party size?
No I just mistyped. Im playing on tactician for what its worth
I like sorcerer, although I don't dont really know why having a high coolguy stat makes you better at casting spells.
I love intelligence and wisdom checks
I hate charisma checks
I like sorcerer and warlock
I dislike druids and clerics
Life is suffering
I use sorcerer with headband of intellect and 1 lvl of wizard, with my wizards slots i cast shield, mirror image, haste and misty step. Those have no save anyway
iirc, you are projecting magic into the world via your personality rather than just because you're a huge nerd.
Im playing my game with 2 clerics, 1 fighter and 1 wizard and im pretty comfy
Wizard really kicked in with haste, fireball and fire wall. The others were all useful from level 1
You can solo the whole game with any class.
FRICK off with your rating.
>Enemies target based on AC
>Make Astarion a Champion/Thief hybrid
>Max out dex and use the medium armor that lets you add all your dex modifier to your AC
>Give him two hand crossbows
>Give him a shield
>He has like 22+ AC
>Enemies outright ignore him as he just peppers them down with 4 shots a turn including getting a sneak attack and tons of crits
It is moronic how strong he is, and because of his AC enemies will run past him to get to Gale who is sitting at the edge of the area and they're just taking shit loads of damage every turn and easily get killed.
It really is odd enemies work like that. They will charge past your "frontline" to shitheap the one character with 1 less AC than anyone else. They don't even care about opportunity attacks or shit on the ground
>play on Tactician
>Gale has shit for AC
>enemies still ignore him
This game sucks.
In early access, enemies targeted the lowest AC of your party constantly. I guess some play tester got filtered.
I play on tactician and they commonly focus on Gale. All my other 3 characters are hard or very hard to kill, maybe you have other squishies
Yeah, the AI is fricked in that it will leave a high AC archer untouched unless it is the MC.
I picked OoV paladin and smited the shit out of everyone.
Are you wearing Armour of Agility?
How the HELL do you stop gauntlet sleeve clipping?
Nope. It's the armour of Persistence.
Agility got patched tho.
What is this bullshit list even based off of? Ranger is playin the game on EZ mode if youre a hunter
>hunter
For what? I look at this subclass and i see complete garbage rewards for investment. Is volley good or what?
Hes memeing or playing in exploration mode because hunter ranger is shit, specially since it competes with fighters for the same role
>ranger
>melee
I think I figured out your moronation issue. Sorry you gays wanna dance with a skeleton for 3 turns instead of just shooting him and his 2 frickers next to him in one turn
Are you moronic or are you under the impression that fighters cant specialize in ranged combat?
Also, think about anything you can do with ranger, fighter can do it better
Only thing ranger has on fighter is longstrider/enhance leap utility so you don't need a wizard around.
ranger can open locks without using their forehead
see thats the fun part, fighters have to specialize i it, rangers are just frickin good and only get better, but cope more fightergay
Cloud of daggers is an okay AOE spell you get earlier than fireball on Wiz. It’s not crazy big like fireball, but early on in bg3, so many fights are just tons of grouped up trash, mostly melee, mobs that even mediocre aoe spells will cheese them. It doesn’t have a save, so against early enemies it’ll just kill them. I love wall of fire later though. You can just win so many fights with that spell and nothing else.
there's a pretty broken combo if you have lightning charge gear, the boots that create electricity and the ring that makes you immune to electrocution. cast sleet storm, enemies prone and fail casts. cancel it immediately, the region turns to water that electrifies, cast lightning bolt/call lightning/chain lighting
Playing my first game as halfling rogue with froggy fighter, turdling barb and gayle wiz and I'm having fun. I killed astarion because he was insufferable from the get go and shadowshart tried to kill my dommy mommy froggy so obviously I killed the shart and I forgot about a demon so wyll got fricked back to hell. Halsin is just fricking around in camp with no option to use him so I guess he'll frick off eventually.

The fight is also over if you just kill the enemies. Imagine wasting an action to CC someone when you can just kill them.
Wizardchuds OUT
>just kill the devil with 666 HP who fricks around with the environment and summons stuff instead of CCing him
>What is otto scroll
>What is the helmet that gives +7 spell save DC
Not wasting a party slot for that
>he's a scroll cuck
Yes let me have the walking scroll bank that takes a party slot instead, much better
>Imagine wasting an action to CC someone
You're aware that you get guaranteed critical hits on a paralysed enemy, yes? So you basically still provide damage while making the enemy harmless and easy to hit.
It's already harmless and easy to hit, because you can just hit it with four proper hitters. Then it's dead.
You can also use perilous stakes and make any enemy vunerable to all damage with any class. Or are we not counting tadpole abilities because it's "cheating"?
>counter spell
>running out of spell slots
>silence
There is more but if your goal is to clear every fight in the game fast and without much issue it’s sadly start the round first and hit like a truck which is Monk, Fighter, Ranger, etc.
That said in this game it’s the gear stacks and potions that win you the game, all the spells in the world mean shit when you can drop a 100 to 300 damage attack with 8 different effects/dice a round.
This system was built for a DM to cater the players too but in this game that doesn’t exist so everyone thinks whatever they like is OP not catching the truth which the game isn’t challenging and feeds into what ever the player wants to be OP.
>run sorcerer
>pick up circlet of smartness to break wizard int monopoly
yeah wizard and his and his 500 concentration spells and subclasses blows
>people actually like bg3's gameplay
Yes moron welcome to the last month or so.
Best build for dick ass thief back stabs? I'm guessing gloomstalker/assassin but the ranged option seems so much more useful. What about Way of Shadows Monk?
>Pic
HEE'HEE, VLAKITH
>gith bard
I really like this from a RP perspective
I made Astarion a gloomstalker/assasin melee, it was decent and definitely lived up to the class fantasy of just nuking a guy in one turn. There's a lot of good light weapons to support it too, but ranged being better than melee for a dex class is really always the case.
You are gimping yourself if you want "the best" class but who really cares, game is piss easy
Have all 3 companions become something that casts Darkness or Fog or shoot smoke arrows, then take every single ability that benefits ambushes, accuracy, etc.
>5 gloomstalker
>4 champion
>3 thief
>elixir of viciousness
>+1 crit range bow
>can now crit on a 17, as low as 15 with more equipment
How are you supposed to play Sorceror? I haven't done a run with one yet but they just look like Wizards that can only cast upcasted shit spells but they can sometimes do it for free.
you go wild magic and have fun
I am playing wild magic and holy shit I regret it so much I want to respec
I always ALWAYS summon a mud mephit, I think my game is fricking with me
One time the mud mephit I summoned noclipped into the earth but he kept flinging shit at me, I had to meme him out of the ground to kill it
I almost respecced into tempest right there
How is regret even real in this game? Just respec, it costs the equivalent of a health pot.
Because I finish combat, forget to respec or get too lazy, get into another combat, summon a mud mephit and I immediately regret being lazy and giving this meme subclass another chance
Some people seem to think that there's an achievement or extra content for beating the game without respeccing when there isn't. One person I talk to on discord went full moron insisting it existed.
>for beating the game without respeccing when there isn't
I'm pretty sure there is an achievement for playing to level 12 without respeccing, but you can get that by hiring a mercenary at level 12 and leveling him up so it's braindead simple to get.
It's what
says, that's multiclassing once into every class and never talking to withers. You get nothing for staying in once class the whole game other than late-build unlocks at level 11 which usually aren't worth it.
There isn't, I just got to 12 on my full warlock
You have “Jack of all trades” which just shows you how easy the game is by being able to multi-class into every level 1 class and still beat the game.
Yes,yes you can just hire a merc at level 12 and have them rank up as every class to get the achievement as well.
just get the ring you get from the hag in act 3, it will definitely help with your wild magic!
You cast chromatic orb early on. Later you get haste and fireball.
Haste yourself before the fight, and in combat cast two fireballs per turn, or three with sorcery points when required.
Lategame you get some other fun blasting spells to toy around with but that's the gist of a sorcerer.
magic missile never misses
Wizard should be at the top. Divination's portent dice alone trivialize the game.
Make literally any enemy fail their save whenever you want is fricking busted.
Sorcerer can make enemies fail the saves too with metamagic, though
No, they can't. They can force disadvantage which is good but still leaves things somewhat to chance.
A divination wizard can literally force a low roll on an enemy's save with a portent die and guarantee a fail.
>left click: the class
>S tier
At some point combat turns into a chore so left click: the class is indeed superior.
she looks like she licks toilets
Monk is pretty boring tbh. Idk how you have it at a tier. Outside of being hyper mobile they’re like 3 variations of the same ability
Is Bard fun for a first (solo) playthrough?
I would save bard for a replay unless you think you're only going to play once.
CHA is easy mode in general but within that bard doesn't get good until level 5, paladin is good from level 1 onward, warlock is front loaded.
If you enjoy the idea of what a bard is, absolutely. Both in gameplay and dialog.
Arguably the best choice for a first play through since they get access to a bit of everything. Good in combat, good support, great face skills, great utility, and can talk to undead and animals which adds a ton of content.
If by solo you mean single player and not completely solo, i.e no companions. Then yes, a Bard is a fantastic party leader/face. But they aren't super great at direct combat, their abilities are more support based so you need a strong team to do most of the actual killing.
>C tier: Ranger
Hahaha. No, I enjoy blinding an entire room effortlessly.

Cheers mate.
>"I know, I'll cast calm emotions. Then these harpies can't charm my guys."

>Enemy cannot be frightened
Yeah this inspect enemy feature is real fricking useful Larian, especially when it doesn't say what an enemy can and cannot be affected by

Because the average normie has never played a turn based game or crpg. It’s basically Witcher 3 all over again except for a genre that’s semi niche or pc exclusive generally
so is there anything actually revolutionary about it because i dont see the appeal if its just looks more or less the same to any other older crpg
i guess im looking for something new and not just a paint coat on an old genre that i have played before
i guess what are the bells and whistles of the game
Nothing revolutionary really, if you've played a Larian game before then it's more Larian except Forgotten Realms. If you like the genre I don't know why you'd be on the fence on a Larian game tho. As far as why it's getting enormous acclaim, 5e is a braindead simple ruleset so the game's very easy to get into, it looks very nice, and it has funny meme sex scenes.
The biggest thing that made this game explode is the presentation.
It has a cinematic styling to it that is rare within the genre. The cutscenes and mo-capping is what drags people into it. Along with the heavy focus on NPC character arcs.
>take a turn combat
Who the frick calls it that?
turn based whatever
you take a turn
take an action

Does warlock get more abilities later on? I’m at the goblin camp and I feel like all I literally do is hex and eldritch blast. I was expecting to be doing a bunch of demonic shit or be a necromancer or something. Eldritch blast feels good to use and sounds good, but I was hoping for more variety.
you do that forever
Damn, thanks bros. I’m gonna respec to a different class then. There isn’t even very much warlock flavor in the dialogue either. Definitely a little disappointed with that. Maybe I’ll give sorcerer a try instead. I tried barbarian and I kinda had the same issue, I felt like I only had 2 abilities.
You're a warlock. Your life is basically hex+EB.
If you're feeling fancy you can cast hunger of hadar in tough fights instead of hex.
>do warlock do more than just eldritch blast?
Kek no, its a one trick pony m8
Nope... that's basically it.
hunger of hadar is almost OP, the enemy AI can't handle it
You’ll get Hunger of Hadar and that’s all you’ll need/use. That said it is OP to the point you can solo the game with that build.
When you get level 3 spells you get hunger of hadar which is arguably the best control spell in the game
Fireball, fire wall, Hunger, shatter, telekinesis, flight, fear, bestow curse
They get a bunch of good shit
you can try a pact of the blade plus fighter for melee and use blast when not in melee range or just add sorc levels for more eldritch spam lol
For necromancy got spores druid or necromancy wizard for utility.
Pact of Blade warlock is kinda fun because you pick up any cool weapon and can use it. Otherwise yea you are an EB cannon
Are there any reasons to not max Charisma?
Yeah, when you're not a charisma based class?
If you're not a CHA class.
Dumping it to 8 at worst just puts a -1 in checks, but there are a million ways to get proficiency in persuasion, deception, intimidation etc. so you really shouldn't dedicate ability points just because you're save-scumming speech checks. Just do better, try using other party members.
Does Shadowheart actually cuck you or is that just people shitposting, I only just hit Act 2
It's not a meme, but I think you have to frick the druid, then take an offer from some degenerates to have a foursome, and Shart can join that. Just don't do any of that shit, or kill the druid guy (he's a gay anyway)
Her writer, who also wrote Halsin, has them flirt when you have them in a party together, he offers to join in on your next little outing in the water and offers to frick her as a dolphin, and she approves of it. Then if you're talking to the drow hookers in act 3 Halsin will barge in on the conversation and want to frick Shadowheart too, and she'll disapprove if you say no.
what happens if you just kill halsin off immediately
the game becomes immeasurably more enjoyable because he's an annoying homosexual who only serves as a walking exposition dump for info you can ascertain more slowly and subtly through other means
If she never meets or sees him then I believe nothing. If she's aware of his existence or maybe worked with the party at some point then she'll make a remark that it was a shame he died because he was hot. Not making that shit up kek
Everyone in act 2 will cry because MUH HALSIN CAN SAVE US FROM THE SHADOW CURSE
She will say "shame Halsin couldn't make it" or something along the lines when you take a rest before trip to Baldur's Gate. Their writer covered all his bases to make sure the bear is always on her mind.
Another reason why helping the goblins in act 1 is the right choice.
green fingers typed this
If I gotta turn green to get another waifu and get rid of halsin, wyll and karlach, then so be it.
I started a civil war in that grove, came back the next day to let the goblins pick at the scraps then fricked Minthara (the only non-prostitute, non-monster woman in the entire game) using their blood as lube. I'll probably do another playthrough where I'm less evil and I'll be annoyed as frick at Wyll and Halsin the entire time, I can tell.
I hate that every dialogue option with Wyll is sucking his dick
>So, Wyll, how did you become The Blade of Frontiers? Is it hard being The Blade of Frontiers? Please, tell me more
That did annoy me.
I'd just gotten done doing Karlach's Paladins of Tyr quest, fighting Gnolls that were way stronger than my party, and a bunch of other shit that she loved, but then the fricking Wyll cutscene with his demon happens and both hers and my dialog was all jerking him off over it.
She really NTRs you hard, it's not a meme. She reveals to the player she often fantasizes over Halsin's giant bear wiener and you unironically lose relationship points with her if you don't let her get gaped and stretched by Halsin.
Shadowheart is exclusively for NTRkings, sorry plebs.
Only one of the three replies are true, choose wisely king
>does the evil priestess of shar really turn out to not be such a great person????
Gee whiz fella, gonna tell me how your goth crush in high school wasnt an innocent virgin and really was a druggy slag bawd too?
No actual cucking happens but she comments on Halsin if you have certain triggers for it. It didn't happen to me, though. When I reached the brothel she said she didn't want to share when the twins offered to have an orgy, and Halsin was in my party when she said this. I don't know what you have to do for her to mention wanting to frick Halsin but I'm going to assume it's homosexual shit.
You simply have to have sex with her once, after that she honest about craving the bear.
do Shadowgays really?
Ive played all game with shadowheart and romanced her since late act 1 and ive never seen it
Why don't you just play the god damn game and form your own opinion instead of listening to what morons here parrot. The supposed "cucking" that happens 99.9% of people romancing Shadowheart will never see.
If you get greedy and try to rope her into a foursome with some hookers, she talks about dreaming of fricking Halsin, herself.
Basically, stay chaste and she'll be chaste. Try to sleep around, and she does the same.
Cleric is the ultimate utility player even as BG3 tries to buff the other puny classes, and thus belongs in S tier.
The amount of broken spells clerics get access to is really absurd. I have tried a lot of party compositions but NEVER one without a cleric. They are just too good.
>tfw upcast aid + feast so party members walk around with 150 hp
bro just get a cleric hireling and cast feast every long rest at camp
The game is already too easy, i don't want to use the troony vitiligo hirelings
you can use a companion you dont normally use but prebuffing every long rest makes the game even easier I agree
>stack equipment that applies radiating orb
>pop spirit guardians
>walk around
>every enemy now has -7 attack
well yeah no shit a normal weapon with a d4 fire boost isn't going to cut it going into grymforge.
You don't even need to do that. You can just go light cleric and get the AOE light blasting class action which still does half damage on a save.
I don't like having the same companion around forever so I cycle them generally. Clerics are really good and their utility is missed but you can still manage without them, even on tactician
Larian needs to let you create full custom hirelings so I can run four dwarf berserkers
This, jesus christ, this is the first RPG ive ever played where I couldnt give a fricking shit about a single companion in the entire game.
If you have two controllers and can run two executables of the game at once, you can just do a multiplayer game both in co-op and then disconnect the games and controllers. I make custom crews all the time.
Latest patch won’t let you run the game twice on the same PC now. I have a spare toaster PC nearby that still makes it possible to make 4 man OCs but I do miss the ability to create 6+ OCs a game.
does the mirror not work on hirelings?
I agree it's stupid that they aren't customizable right away but there's something at least.
Doesn't work on companions
god damnit larian, is it too much to ask to have custom nobodies?
You need to boot up 4 instances of the game and multiplayer with yourself
If your PC can’t handle that and you have two gaming controllers you can just boot two in online co op.
Mine doesn't work at all. Pretty sure it's a UI mod that's causing issues.
Update improvedUI or whatever it's called. The one you need for all other UI mods.
The mirror was broken for me too until i got the new version.
No, mirror does not work on hirelings. Enjoy your transsexual pink haired party members, chud
Cant change name or race. I know its petty but really dont want some gay called Bimbo Muffindorfin in my party
How do I kill the demon on the ship on tactician? He just rapes my ass.
>on tactician
Get lucky or save scum
barrelmancy and luck
buff the mind flayer before it dies
Why do you want to kill him? If for some reason you want his shitty weapon, make Shadowfart cast Command on him and drop the weapon.
Could be an XP boost thing. If you kill him, the Flayer, his two buddies and all the adds you’ll be just have quarter left of XP to level 3.
That said it’s rarely worth it for the time sink to get it all to come together.
early greatsword with permanent fire dip
It’s nice but not worth the effort. More so when there are several enemy types in game you face resistant/immune to fire damage. That sword isn’t doing much to Grimmy and his forge buddies.
It's not a very good sword, but if you really want, you can just use Command and pick it up without killing him.
Keep healing the mindflayer attacking him and save scum and reload every turn the flayer misses.
That’s it.
yeet the runepowder bomb at it
frick i thought you were talking about the devil shit that reflects dmg on the boat in the city
Have Shadowheart use command-drop on him, then Laezel can pick up and use his sword
You reload whenever the mindflayer misses his attack, or the demon hits the mindflayer too hard, basically.
stop tryharding a video game so hard then wondering why its hard
Heal the mindflayer. Have a character next to the demon and another next to the control panel thing. So you can grab the sword and just frick off
Make sure you get the brainboi at the beginning.
Grab all the purple explosives on your way to him. There's one outside the fight and 3 during the fight.
Have Shart Command Drop his weapon and have yourself or Lae to pick it up, use it and use a potion of haste. Drop your bombs next to him. Bless the Mindflayer so he's likelier to hit him.
Keep smacking him until he's about 40 HP and hope for the best. You should be able to kill him by Turn 8.
First off, ignore anyone telling you to heal the mind flyer because it's a waste of spell slots. Instead, have Shart cast inflict wounds which does respectable damage, and keep reloading if she misses. Have your martial(s) use pommel strike to make things a bit easier.
Despite moronic armor system and elemental puddles galore, DOS2 is still a better game.
The "oooooooh look at that puddle!!! come on cast lightning on it!!!!" gets really offensive in dos2 though

learn2spellcast
Is high DEX/CHA Rogue the ideal BG3 class?
Maybe.
No rogue is a level 3 dip, sneak attack is the only thing going for it and fighters/barbarians can outdamage that very quick
Dont listen to morons pretending that their 2 bonus action dip + sleight of hand dispenser is a good class
>Respec Gale into a Sorcerer
>Respec Shadowheart into a Paladin
Playing warlock and casting fireball and hunger of hadar feels way better than anything else imo. Fricking up an entire room of people in one move, also laezhel is made for BWC (big warlock wiener)
For me, it's lore bard with a 2-level dip into Warlock for scaled EB.
Dont bard get cha bonus to cantrips already?
Why even take warlock 2?
invocations, probably
None of the invocations that arent related to eldritch blast are must takes
well, maybe hex, and thats it
Is it worth losing level 11 bard?
depends on how much value you place on Otto's
>see anons talking about Minthara in several threads
>decide to do a an evil character to see what she's all about
>sounds like a 40+yr old smoker hag, looks like one too at points
>doesn't even join your party after you successfully massacre the grove and sexo her
I don't get it, she is not worth it so far.
>doesn't even join your party after you successfully massacre the grove and sexo her
What do you mean "doesn't even join your party"? She does.
She does in act 2 from what ive read onl8ne
give it some time, the writers are fricking cucks and made her entire route move very slowly (and it's STILL fricking bugged or full of cut content). you won't see or hear much of her until act 2, then it picks back up
She joins in Act 2 after visiting her in Moonrise Tower.
I installed a Good Playthrough Minthara pick up mod so I don't miss out on content.
she's recruit-able once you get to moonrise, same as halsin.
Kind of lame that you can only recruit her from late act 2
>late
You can go to moonrise pretty fast, though. Play the lyre to summon the drider and follow him to moonrise or just kill him for the lamp/pixie instantly. Takes maybe 10 minutes.
She is highly overrated but she's probably the most tolerant and approving of evil shit. Shadowheart will sometimes approve of evil shit but she's just an edgy child, Lae'zel likes doing cruel shit but disproves of higher-concept evil shit beyond just punching a guy. Minthara is into all of it.
>Shadowheart will sometimes approve of evil shit
NOOOO WHY DID YOU KILL THE SELUNE CLERIC ISOBEL, ALL THESE INNOCENT PEOPLE DIED
>Kills Aasimar, which in turn kills Isobel and everyone at last light
SHAR REALLY LOVES ME... ALL MY DREAMS ARE FULFILLED
Her split personality gets on my nerve sometimes
Yeah well that's what happens when you rewrite a character half-way through recording dialogue because you liked how the dyke VA spoke to her girlfriend.
Thats actually a very good description of these 3 character kek

where is your haste?
just drink it bro
Just use potions. Arguably better than haste since you can't be knocked out of the effect
>But only 3 turns!!
What fight lasts longer than 3 turns when you have 2 actions?
raphael, the dragon in the prison and maybe koveras lasted close to 3 or 4. I prefer having a class with sorc levels for haste
You can also get a bow in act 2 from dammon that gives haste, and a bow in act 3 in the foundry that gives haste
There's haste spores too. Also haste pots let you blow up the towers in 1 turn with two characters while the other two can destroy the trash mobs. By the time you hit lethargy he's nearly dead.
Only Gale has access to it but I prefer not putting him into my main party unless I really need to abuse some spells
Bottled haste also does the trick in a pinch
That's the biggest deviation from roleplaying point of view I did with my respecs but I really wanted a monk for those delicious 200 points of damage turns and Barbarian is trash tier in the late game
>Only Gale has access to it but I prefer not putting him into my main party unless I really need to abuse some spells
Why? Are you that insecure of your sexuality that you won't bring him along?
>Why?
I think pure spellcasters are boring gameplay-wise, I prefer hybrid characters like my Wyll or Shadowheart build I posted above
>Are you that insecure of your sexuality that you won't bring him along?
What?
This is what my Gale looks like 🙂
>I will now allow Gale to rape me

amazing anon. truly amazing
Gale is great if you absolutely refuse to speak with him in camp ever.
i dont think its insecurity if they just made all characters trisexual for no reason at all.
>respeccing karlach into a monk
Im gonna puke
>12 levels of non-multiclassed rogue
I never thought someone could be this moronic to go pure rogue in a 5e crpg
Rogue is absurdly good in BG3, even with my other characters using min/maxed meta builds the rogue is still among the best characters in my team
Don't blame me, blame the game
Are there any rulesets where Rogue isn't absolutely amazing?
Shadowbros, why is our wife Shadowheart researching donkey, dog, elephant, and horse wildforms with Halsin?!
>decide to fight Sarevok
>kill off one of his ads e
>gets permanent+6 AC
how is this fair?
It went away after a few rounds for me.
Doesn't have a turn counter for me but hopefully it falls off. I've got the other 2 walled off in the back with blade barrier and hunger and haste got broken so hopefully I can manage to run him around a bit
Never mind he's got 14 wis but hold person had 70% to hit anyway, lol

How do the VAs even work for that?

>monk with tavern brawler
>barbarian with GWM balduran's warblade
STRchads we can't stop winning
I want a character that applies wet to everything. What is the best class for this assuming I want to spend most of my actions on casting create water? I’ll put alert on them as their first feat, so they get to move before everyone else.
cleric or drood
just do it all yourself (rain + dmg) with storm sorc/tempest cleric
Conjuration wizard starts with summon water spell.
Yeah, but clerics and druids get it too. I know clerics have some good utility you can get out of their bonus action and even reaction, less sure on druids. Conjuration Wiz don’t really do anything else though do they? Although, being able to learn every spell in the game would let get more summon spells than those classes probably since conjure animals is missing.
Game's kind of held back by the low level cap and the missing subclasses/classes but it's just 5e things sometimes
God tier: Not playing pozzed westslop
>he says while posting troony shit
KYS
This is the gayest post I've seen, and I've watched gay porn
Dumb animetroony
They need to homebrew it so champion has superior critical at 12
This class is so fricking bland
I was really disappointed my first run with a champion fighter, watching Lae'zel blademaster fighter do so much more shit. Champion really needs to be multiclassed for crit builds or at least do something to raise hit chance so you can go all-in more.
what hairstyle is that? is it in the base game, or is it a mod?
How's Warlock in this game? What's the theme and playstyle like?
>theme
none, there's barely any dialogue relating to it
>gameplay
spam eldritch blast
>there's barely any dialogue relating to it
u wot? There's tons
They even get a big unique convo with the Absolute at Moonrise
Pretty fun. People will tell you it's just an eldritch blast machine but they get a variety of solid spells. Their spell slots mean they can't cast as much per fight but their shit is always at max level and restores after short rest so they have high impact each encounter instead of rationing shit out over the course of a day
>Cast hunger of hadar
>Shoot enemies back into the hunger with EB
It's fun. People meme and say you do the same stuff all the time but they forget every class is like that.
Not really, warlock, more than any other class aside from fighter, is repetitive as frick
>repetitive
All caster classes feel that way to me and I'm not really sure why.
Its because your brain cant fathom how to use any other spell other than fireball
>Rouge
Sneak attack, weapon attack, off hand attack
>Cleric
Guiding Bolt, Spirit Guardians
>Sorc
Haste, Double fireball
>Barb
Rage, attack, attack
And so on.. I know you CAN do other stuff with these classes, but most cases it's this. You have a lot of spells as warlock you can use other than EB/Hunger but 9/10 times it's just the best. Same goes for other classes.
Not really, locks only have 2 spell slots, you are forced to spam eldritch blasts or run out of gas mid combat, the other classes dont have this kind of restriction hence why they are far more flexible
I rarely need to use more than 2 spell slots per fight anyways, and they are upcasted so shit gets blown up. I guess if the rest of your party members suck ass this is a restriction.
So what you are saying is that for most fights, you only use EB because your team fights for you, in tough fights you cast 2 fireballs, then short rest in order to do all over again, and after you run out of short rests you just spam EB?
And that is not a repetitive class?
How is that different from other spell casters?
>you only use EB because your team fights for you
are you seriously implying EB doesn't do enough damage
After i run out of short rests i long rest because i'm not moronic, and i have 1000 camp supplies
>So what you are saying is that for most fights, you only use EB because your team fights for you, in tough fights you cast 2 fireballs, then short rest in order to do all over again, and after you run out of short rests you just spam EB?
>And that is not a repetitive class?
Have you considered trying to do more with the class yourself?
Every class becomes repetitive if you the player only use the minimum viable strategy for every encounter
Larian actually did a good job at enabling creative combat options in BG3
>And that is not a repetitive class
I mean, sorcerer does the same. Wizard does the same. Any fighter or ranger does the same.
Yep must be some real boring shit all these classes.
Why is it that my game is installed on an NVME and still takes FOREVER to load?
Sword Bard >>>>>>>>>>>>> your favourite class
This was my first cRPG. Should I try the Pathfinder games or UnderRail next if I want more?
Dragon Age Origins
Pathfinder, underrail is a meme game people only pretend to enjoy
Filtered
Just play more Larian games if you liked how this played specifically.
What else have they made that's worth playing?
Divinity OS2
The Divinity Original Sin games, welcome to the first day in the gaming world I guess
Do you like buffing?
Do you like AC?
because if you do you should play pathfinder
when does sorc pick up? i'm level 4 (with 1 level in cleric) and it feels like dog SHIT. am i just picking the wrong spells or something?
At level 3 you can cast scorching ray twice in one turn, at level 5 you can do that with fireball
Sorcerers are underpowered wizards. They have less spells than wizards, less ability buffs, and less capabilities in battles. SP is fricking worthless if you don't have good spells, and half of them are situational
at level 5 you can learn haste and twinspell it to effectively break the action economy for the rest of the game
>go Storm Sorc
>get quickened spell
>quicken Create Water
>get your enemies wet
>use main action to cast a thunder spell
>???
>massive damage
Best thing is that the damage of this combination scales with your levels across the game as you unlock stronger thunder spells
>checking druid
>ok moon circle what is that for
Shapeshifting and damage
>ok ok good, land is for?
Shapeshifting and support
>uuuh okay okay kinda repetitive but okay what about spores, spores gotta be about casting right?
Right
>Oh nic-
But its shit, and its also about shapeshifting
CAN THIS CLASS DO ANYTHING OTHER THAN SHAPESHIFT?
Yes? Land and spores don’t really shapeshift that much. Spores in particular has like half of its unique kit turned off if you wildshaps. You’ll still do it from time to time, especially as an emergency measure when you’re low on HP, but land is much more of a caster in playstyle and spores is… weird.
I thought spores specifically didn't want to shapeshift since the spores cost a wildshape to apply
for that matter land also doesn't want to shapeshift since they get a million free spells and wildshape costs an action for them
Druid is C tier? Lol im an invincible killing machine with endless lightning spam, 25+ armor with 150+ hp, hordes of self-replicating zombies AND using bonus action for ANOTHER aoe spam via spore circles. U guys just suck lol
>Lol im an invincible killing machine with endless lightning spam, 25+ armor with 150+ hp
A monk could kill your character in a single turn
I still have my reaction chum, get proned
Monk is SSS tier
tell me immediately what that dress is. sorc is S tier. fighter is f for being the most boring class concievable
>S tier: fighter
Base fighter? Yeah, sure, but holy frick any subclass that isn't Battle Master is BAD.
Fighter desperately needs its supplement subclasses, same as rogue
Both fighter and rogue are god tier multiclass choices to strengthen other classes with action surge or the second bonus action
>go champion
>uhhh you can crit on a 19 now
>and thats it
At least eldritch knight is interesting
Can't believe they got away with class whose only unique trait is +5% chance to crit
I think Champions should be allowed to use most weapon skills multiple times. Maybe give them resource points for it to use.
I'd be cool with that. Maybe give them more situational advantage or something too
>need to rescue NPC from a burning trailer full of explosives
>berserker throws jar of water at trailer
>nearly destroys trailer with jar
Jesus Christ!
Volo? I just let him alone and the fire burnt out without exploding him
Can you have sex with Mindflayers in this game?
Yes and it's disgusting
The ultimate question is
why they didnt add booming blade into the game?
You know, the cantrip that allows gish classes to not be absolute horseshit
