steam is the last place i would trust the score the forums are moderated by the company that runs the game so any complains just get removed same with negative reviews.

act 3 is not only a big step down in how you progress through it and the narrative, it's also way WAY buggier.
Apart from the usual bugs happening more often and performance being worse, it also has gamebreaking bugs that will just make you unable to progress the game at all. Like the one where the portraits of your main characters dissapear and you can't control them anymore, which I can tell you by experience that is not fun if you are doing an honor mode run

Act 3 is pretty garbage honestly. A lot of quests become very linear compared to being able to do basically whatever you can imagine to complete them from Act 1.
There's several where you're given no way to talk your way through, you can only complete with combat or possibly stealth.
The biggest offender for me was the fireworks shop one.
Maybe I had missed something but I couldn't figure how to get to the upper floor without invis/sneaking or fighting. I expected being able to bullshit my way up there like I could in similar instances in the past.
It's so interesting some people think that. Act 3 was my favorite part of the game (granted, I didn't get to Act 3 until after Patch 5, so I likely missed the majority of the original issues)
I think it's because people try to binge the entire game and after 60-70 hours they reach Rivington, which is admittedly kind of weak, and give up on the game.

Why was the ending so fricking bad? Everything from the Morphic Pool onward feels unfinished and rushed. Also the best ending (Gale bomb without any Flayers) feels hidden behind several layers of bullshit and contradictory dialogue. Rest of the game is pretty aight tho. Romancing Lae'zel then letting her leave with Orpheus + joining Wyll and Karlach in hell + promising to reunite with one another after you complete your separate missions is such a great ending though.

The gripe with mass effect was not about the lack of influence from renegade/paragon on the ending; rather, people were upset that the three different endings were literal palette swaps of either other. Lack of impact from your in-game choices on the epilogue is a fair critique against Larian; but that was both not the controversy with ME3 nor does BG3 approach that level of "frick it" with the endings.
I played BG3 200 hours on my first play and there were some bugs here and there that weren't substantial. They were just a drop in an ocean, and ultimately, it is impressive a game of that length and with that much going on only had so much bugs. I remember playing Kingmaker on launch and there was some video game in that bug. Same for DOS1 and 2. these games often ship almost unplayable. BG3 was playable at launch and all the issues with it were really superfluous, to me at least.
Writing did underwhelm me in act 3, but if we really grind down your post into the objective bits, no upper city is the only real complaint that stands. Trying to compare BG3 to cyberskunk is kinda inorganic discord troony/tencent schizo shitposting on your end, though. you overplayed your hand there.
Are they ever going to add more campaign stuff? I've held off on buying it ever since I learned of their lack of content/ cut content notably Karlach's 'good' endings (what was posed as good at launch was actually the neutral branch) which is unfortunate. Someone told me they did actually add content for Karlach but is this the completed "good" ending branches?
The idea that they're just "done" with it when it seems like a number of things including upper city doesn't make sense. Even if you forget about other CRPGs like Owlcat's or whatnot, Divinity Original Sin 1 and 2 both had updates and eventual Definitive Editions that added lots of new stuff, not to mention expansion type content.

Before BG3 dropped, the game had like 2 or 3 reviews out in the wild. Even for a solid 2 weeks after publication, the game had very few reviews.
All advertisement and marketing was done by Larian themselves, at their own studio, all events were attended by Larian developers including Swen.
Swen is also actively criticising the subscription models that the industry is pushing, and published an AAA game DRM free with no microtransactions, for $60, in 2023, when the entire industry is shifting beyond $70 + mandatory DRM and MTX for all games.
Larian is like the antithesis of game industry croniysm, and paid indians running smear them on imageboards like you are just another proof to add to the pile.

I wonder how many other studios are going to see Larian pulling this thing off and thinking that they need to make a "Baldur's Gate killer". We'll probably see a couple of AAA CRPGs soon.

I don't really see that happening, because BG3 worked because the CEO himself is a huge fan of the genre and allowed his devs to devote more time than would by typical for things they're personally really wanting to see done well (majority of all the extra bard stuff was from a dev who just really liked bards in D&D).
Other studios want to get out the easiest to make product for the maximum amount of money.
Now, DEVS might be inspired seeing that something like this still can have a big audience, but they're not going to be allowed to make it without someone who actually gives a shit in charge.
Even now, after seeing the success of the game, I look back and go, "What the hell were they THINKING? 100 million+ on a CRPG?!". Yeah there's just no way any company's going to try this.
I think it's more likely that tenured devs who own the source code to old games will attempt to "re-develop" them without having to start from scratch. Soooo mounds and mounds of new content, but very little that's actually good(because the original team moved on a long time ago) and probably will ruin the original version
it's the only other way they can make remasters more annoying, I fear there's a chance Warcraft 3 Reforged was only the beginning

The pozzed shit is way blown out of proportion. It's nowhere like the troony thing in the Siege of Dragonspear expansoin where it felt completely out-of-place in the setting.
