Looks like Bethesda has nothing to worry. This couldn’t beat Fallout 4 number from eight years ago. Starfield will crack 500K.

100% it shouldn’t but boring plain normie slop is always extremely popular
I mean fallout 4 has fans lol, if you think the general gaming audiences have taste you’re missinformed

Uhhhh its more interesting for sure. I mean fricking bethsedia games are all the same shit, idk why you would care about starfield when its just another one to add to the pile especially after fallout 4 which was a tragedy. but I haven’t finished bg3 and i doubt you have either and you just want to he a cry baby b***h seething so maybe. So far its been pretty fun

Ah, so you have played Starfield yet or you are just a cry baby b***h seething fr fr no cap?

Yeah i did. It was called fallout 4 8 years ago and it was dogshit filled with radiant quests, a medicore main quest, and subpar shooting which that exact 1-1 shooting gameplay is pretty much the only thing showed us during its reveal
              >this time it won’t have radiant quests
Yeah okay thats what we have been saying since skyrim lol
              >this game won’t have a bad main quest
What we have been saying since fricking oblivion

I generally don’t like CRPGs but BG3 and the Divinity games in general are rare exceptions, I prefer turn based combat

            >uhhhhh
            >this generic medieval fantasy game that's turn based is more interesting than the first person generic medieval, apocalyptic, space fantasy games bethesda makes
You make a convincing case, the part where you said uh really sold me on it.

BGS games are designed to be played for months. It’s a bad deal for anyone familiar with their games

          Anonymous

They are owned by Microsoft, it will permanently be on gamepass. They even unfricked mod support awhile back for gamepass stuff

            Anonymous

So? Most people only play one game at a time and only for a few hours a days and not every single day. Bethesda games can be played for hundreds of hours and then have it available to play when mods, which do not release on any schedule, come out. Renting it is a bad deal. Game pass is still relatively in unknown compared to steam

      >Starfield will crack 500K.
Maybe, but it's gonna be split because of the week-early access pass for everyone who bought that.

Starfield will obviously crack 1 million on day one.

      >turn-based versus real-time action
      >high fantasy versus hard scifi
      >isometric versus first-person
      >character-driven narrative versus emergent sandbox
      >multiplayer versus single-player
BG3 and Starfield have almost nothing in common. The fact that they're considered to be in the same genre is a random quirk of history. The only reason they're even mentioned in the same sentence is because Bethesda happens to be the biggest WRPG devs right now so everyone else invites comparison, but I can't imagine their audiences would have much overlap save for those who play every hot release.

Why do all the meme games have 500k concurrent players at launch? Yet popular niche games like sf6 get 300k or bigger games get 1 mill. Why is it always almost 500 on the nose? If the interest was genuine wouldn't the numbers vary more? It's almost as if marketers are hitting targets.

The only pattern I've noticed is they are faux "real gamer" games.

Didn't mean to hurt ur feelings kid. Have fun playing what you want but make sure you are actually having fun. Target demos are a real thing.
