>woke game that fills all the diversity tickbox wins a bunch of awards
Industry is dead, I hope the next video game crash comes soon, it's only after normies leave and find a new trendy hobby that we can recover and get real video games again.
>First 4 posts is schizoposting and seething
You know a game is great when it causes people to have fricking months long mental breakdowns over other people saying anything remotely postive about it.
That type of childish seething where you KNOW they get red in face at just the thought of seeing people discussing it.
Im guarantee that years later youre still going to be schizoposting about how any person saying anything postive about it is a paid shill.
Hell its been several months after release and you STILL think it's current numbers are bots.
At what point are going to realize that the reality you built in your head is completely fricking illogical and unfeasible?

10 years ago the idea that an isometric RPG, BG3 of all things, would be this successful was amazing. Now on Ganker it's met with kneejerk shitposts about goyslop and bearsex. The difference is huge.
Funny how Ganker and internet communities alter views, to the joyless and boring side
People here, the same people that like normie and mainstream as frick games such as pokemon, smash bros or final fantasy, try to pretend they are contrarians when it's not a japanese game.
>Funny how Ganker and internet communities alter views, to the joyless and boring side
this is true but not in the way you think
the only reason i even bothered pirating this game is because everyone was spamming how amazing and revolutionary it is. my disappointment was immeasurable when i discovered that there is nothing all that unique about it compared to other rpgs. its just a sorta good rpg that does some cool things here and there but nothing that would justify the level of attention or some of the crazy things people were saying about it. as such the bad taste in my mouth remains because the actual game will never compare to the what was said about it online.
I'm saying people were glad to get the rare good RPG, since there's not a lot of choices. Remember that most RPG classics are unfinished buggy messes kek

The BG3 is keeping up the tradition

Yeah, you'd think people would have noticed the trend and understood that RPGs tend to be buggy. Probably has something to do with the innate complexity, but who knows.
wasn't witcher 3 a huge hit? >What sort of things were you expecting exactly?
the usual memes were >the game is soooo reactive >lots of choices and options that matter >its the closest thing to playing tabletop rpg! >every playthrough is totally different!
now all those things are true about bg3 but to a similar extent as in 99% of rpg games. it really is starting to feel like all the praise is a babys first rpg kind of thing which is ok but man i don't think i'll ever be able to properly enjoy bg3 because of it.
pretty usual memes for rpg games in general so tbqh i only blame myself
Yeah fair enough, it's hard to gauge the reality from the views on the internet.
RPGs started to shift towards action and player skill after the 2000s, so mainstream RPGs have been ARPGs for a long, loooong time. Not a lot of choices or reactivity going in them either. Skyrim and Dark Souls dominated the 2010s
BG3 can feel like a fresh experience, so it explains the excitement around it.

You see, the idea is still amazing.
But what we got is not that - we got a wokefest weg datesim disguised as an isometric rpg, which exploits the setting of baldur's gate and shits on it.
Hurra-oh wait. *queue West Taiwan national anthem*

You think these people are capable of critical thought? I think you're asking for a lot.
>"you're seething and mad!" marketing angle
Epic reddit moment for the win.
Pajeet is upset about his shilling being countered by people who actually played the game lol
Game too gay
I killed every gay in my game and the world still celebrated me. Whats your problem?
People shouldn't have to repair dev's work before playing
yea dude we know anything player do in act 3 (where its suddenly raining gay) is essentially meaningless

Awards show pandering westerners would of course choose the safest western goyslop. Yawn.
I mean how many other games even use dice, makes sense.
Upper city and Karlach's questline not being finished are shit.

Keep in mind that the whole RPG genre hasn't produced groundbreaking hits, especially in the last 20 years. Or any genre for that matter.
Remember the retro rpg revival kickstarters? That's not too long ago, and should tell you about the state of the genre.
What sort of things were you expecting exactly?
BG3 isnt "groundbreaking" either, its not even timeless because of that homosexual fetish shit they litered the game with

well bg3 is not isometric rpg of 10 years ago and is popular for wrong reasons

Don't care, I just play Rogue Trader and Colony Ship instead.
