The problem is that it is long, the couch co-op does not hold up, and you are supposed to play through it on easy mode before you go up to the higher difficulties.
>you are supposed to play through it on easy mode before you go up to the higher difficulties.
Is that so? No wonder I struggled going to the hardest right away, it seemed unreasonable.
I'm not sure if it was just nostalgia from growing up with the first, but the second honestly felt kinda bad when me and my brother finally played the port like a year ago.
The second had more customization and way more memorable classes and locations. Haven't played it since release so can't really say how they hold up from a gameplay perspective.
I'll give you that on the customization, but that honestly just made the game easier to cheese. We figured out an exploit to load up on gems and gold so we were pretty decked out by mid to end game. My necromancer could even one shot undeads with a crit
Locations also felt kinda samey. The other anon was right that half of DA1 may have been sewers but half of DA2 is endless fields and mountains. There were more interesting places like the mansion and the lab but I felt that the Onyx Tower in 2 was major downgrade and the final boss was anticlimactic
it's a super fricking basic ass game that was nice at the time it came out because it was a diablo-clone you could play couch co-op with your buddy on the TV. it's really not that great of a game by today's standards, and I don't like using that phrase.
are you the PCXS2 thread guy?
Is that why you hate this game? It runs like shit on that emulator.
dark alliance 1,2, champions, champions return are the best arpgs ever made
>It runs like shit on that emulator.
Maybe on the stable version lol. afaik for DA1 (should work on the GC version too), you just underclock it til theres minimal or no slowdown.
Some areas seem ok, but the first tavern, and a couple other areas slow down the game to unplayable.
I've messed with all those settings and never got it fixed.
I have nostalgia for Norrath because I remember couch co-op with my girlfriend and two others on the ps2. I can't remember if the game was good, I remember having fun though.
Dark Alliance 3 made me mad.
tried it some time ago. can confirm.
Stay filtered, zoomies.

The game is decent, but not great, imho.

CoN is better
yes and return to arms
illegal advertising
I played the shit out of this game. Easily my most played PS2 game alongside Battlefront I & II
you are literally me
You are literally based
I never play the original CoN because I could never find it in any store
High elf cleric bimbo kino
this is on my list
can you even play these co-op on pcsx2?
Didn't I tell you yesterday not to play that shit?
When I was in middle school, I stripped the sorceress half-naked and jerk offd to her.
I played the whole game with a Wood Elf in her underwear. Helps that armor didnt seem to actually do anything. For PS2 the graphics were pretty great
I did the same thing. I only put her in boots, gloves, and belts
>wood elf
Sounds like you were playing champions of Norrath my friend
I liked Dark Alliance 2 as a kid
The superior hack n slash couch co-op series
Played the shit out of Redeemer
What do you think Hunter reckoned?
>playing a coop hack and slash solo
you made a moron choice. this game was made to be played on the couch with a friend, and in that context its fun.
Is it worth buying on PC?

Very lazy ports as far as I can remember
I played a demo of this game on my PS2 back in the days. It has probably aged but is worth playing through still? Zoomers don't need to reply.
All the PS2 ARPGs are pure nostalgia goggles. I fell asleep playing Champions with my gf.
agree on champions. i was excited for that when it came out and i found it really boring. x-men legends, too.
Based alcoholic
I'm straight edge but thank you for admitting you have to be blackout drunk to enjoy those gimped, baren piece of shit games.
i liked this when i was younger, but tried it again recently and it was pretty bland. got to the mountains and stopped. gauntlet is better.
