I hate it because Oda threw away 25 years of solid storytelling and world building for generic "chosen one" animu bullshit. Also, giving your character overpowered god powers makes them a very boring character. What does that say about my intelligence?

Main characters are always "chosen ones" of sorts simply by virtue of the fact that the story centers around them, but it's a hack move to establish in-universe reasons for your characters to be "chosen ones".
