Because for the latter three you're looking at official renders instead of in-game models and Brawl is the only one there with an art style that emphasized realistic clothing textures over everything else?
If Ultimate didn't have such glossy lighting and an absolutely wretched texture for DK, it'd be the best. 4 is probably the best but it mangled Link and Ganondorf's faces so horribly that I'm not sure if I can give it the nod. As such it's gonna have to default to Brawl.
I would say brawl but then I remember what they did to samus and how I will die mad about it. Why oh why couldn't they have just used the metroid prime design.
>people like Call of Duty poopy-brown Smash best
What? I thought it was generally agreed upon that Brawl was the ugliest. I guess if you don't find N64 charming then I can see it being above that, but it's definitely near the bottom.
I agree that the ideas behind 4 and Ult's art direction are fundamentally way better. I'm mostly joking when I say I'd give the nod to Brawl based only on things like Link and Ganon getting fricked up in 4 or Sonic getting his facial expressions gutted despite everyone else being more expressive. Smash 4 and Ultimate would probably be my preferred choice.
64 for headbutts that can slice a watermelon in half.
Melee for Gamecube kino.
Brawl for edgy, chest piercing guitar riffs and Mario if he real.
4 3DS and Wii U for good, I guess.
Ultimate for better, I guess.
Smash 4 was the best and how Smash ought to look like officially from there on.
No ugly realism aging like milk.
Bright saturated colors befitting Nintendo.
Nice clean lighting.
I dont know why that chucklefrick from Bamco thought coating everything in vaseline and fricking up the lighting in Ultimate was such a good idea. Change for the sake of change. It also blows my mind how the Switch is just a tad weaker than the Wii U.
brawl from kino era
64>4>Melee>Brawl>Ultimate
Brawl
They're identical in terms of art style except the first one looking like puke
I've never played a Smash game but I'm sometimes pissed at the fact that characters have better models in Ultimate than in their respective games
I like the realistic textures from brawl, but that's the one I grew up with, so I might be biased.
how is it possible for brawl to look higher quality than ultimate and 3ds/wii u

Still not as bad as fo(u)r and ultimate using the other m design.
Love me some 64 smash but brawl will always be remembered as something weird but cool
64
Melee
Ultimate
Wii U/3DS
Brawl
Brawl.

Do it right or don't do it at all.

Only Meleetards think that.
Brawl was uglier when it came out when everyone was doing realism
look at him
Zoomers grew up m8

Ult. It feels like a mix of brawl and smash 4 which both looked good.

64. I like how Fox looks like a muppet. They ruined him in Brawl by making him a duck.
Wii U for the colors and lighting.
Melee for the aesthetics, menu, and music.
