Xbox gets less AA Japanese multiplats that release on the Switch and PS5. The Switch still gets a lot of AA multiplats in general, it's just the AAA games that are missing it that will probably be early ports for the Switch 2. The Playstation is the default "kinda gets everything" machine though, it's the safest bet to buy as far as consoles go but PC actually gets everything. Even games like Unicorn Overlord that are missing PC will still be playable via a Switch emulator.
Switch+PS5 covers most gamers, they don't need more. Same with simply owning a PC.

You could argue that in Gen 6 it was dominated by just one console but multiplats were a lot bigger than they were before and they've become bigger and people just don't care as much about certain brands as people think they do.
If you primarily play multi-player games, you don't enjoy vidya. You just use them as a way to socialize, and you WILL drop the hobby when you are content with your social life outside of vidya.

Studios are in complete disarray (GaaS Spider-Man getting canned, Frowning Dyke israelites multiplayer canceled extremely late and before that the franchise itself, the one popular thing snoy had managed to achieve since PS2, got torpedoed for a vanity move), the studio acquisitions (Bungie particularly) have been a disaster. SIE is hemorrhaging money over the years with aggressive moneyhating to try and build a healthy attachment rate but it never fricking happens, golems just buy the brick, one or two homosexual movies they're told to and that's it. Nothing outside CoD, GTA and FIFA sell. For all the wannabe Apple bullshit they tried to pull, they can't get a consumer cult going.
Consider that PS5 games are extremely short, shallow, linear, mechanically poor, unchallenging and have no replay value. That means no one's playing anything and a handful of casuals on 6 hour long ~~*experiences*~~ are dwarfing ALL multiplayer game players with their hundreds of hours. This is a symptom of a dying system.
I doubt it when they just fired Jim Ryan and new GaaS games are struggling to take off right now. Those assets will probably be repurposed into new singleplayer games like how Project Titan became Overwatch.

It's 2024, there's pretty much no reason to buy a console anymore, Nintendo and Sony were the kings of the early and mid years of gaming and even now Nintendo can still hold its own thanks to brand recognition and actually making a couple of good games every year, Sony however has abandoned what they originally believed in and what people knew them for to chase trends and easy money which in the long run will probably cost them more and more respect from their own playerbase.

I would say that's both true and false, third party exclusives were a big part of early playstation but their first party games were also absolute beasts, maybe they would'nt have been enough to carry the PS1 and PS2 alone but they were a big part of what made that Sony era good
That goes back to their moronic purchase of Bungie, who keeps telling them their GaaS games are shit and can't be released in their current state. Purchasing Bungie more or less killed their live service games, which might be a good thing overall and perhaps the only good thing that comes from that acquisition because no recent GaaS game has had much staying power. The Finals is already dying despite having a promising start, it was another FotM as people go crawling back to their old GaaS games like they always do.
Same shit happened with MMOs, there can only be a few big games and it's too late for anything new to come out and succeed unless it has a ridiculous budget but even that risks being another TORtantic or Hyenas.
Even if that were true it's not an excuse for churning out garbage first party games. The older ones never had huge normalgay appeal but they were at least cool.

with every MP game being a live service these day, this makes a lot of sense. matter of fact, im not gonna renew my PSPlus this year for this very reason. gonna take the Gamepass pill instead.
I have a PS5 and only use it to play big AAA single player games the week of release and then I go weeks or months without playing any games at all until the next big AA single player game comes out. Theres only 2 games this year I intend to play. FF7 Rebirth and Dragons Dogma 2. Which means I will spend March and probably April beating those games and then not playing any other games for the rest of the year.
As opposed to the PC port with Denuvo and that new DRM that will stop everyone from using mods? Not having to pay for online is still better but that's becoming the only thing PC has going for it, when it used to be one of many perks.

Bad PC ports still exist, especially when games launch. Elden Ring had microstutters at launch due to EAC, the only way to get around them was to pirate the game because the pirated version had EAC removed. Even games without Denuvo or EAC can perform poorly like Starfield. Where it was so bad that Todd got called out on during an interview with Bloomberg.

Elden Ring was playable at 60 FPS with no drops(PS4 version) or 60 with drops(PS5 version). The Series X version had VRR to cover for the drops too, it was arguably the best way to play the game at a higher resolution initially.

A 2070 is better than what most PC gamers are currently using and arguably better than what the PS5 has but the PS5 is still outperforming it. If you have a 4000 series GPU or a higher end 3000 series like the 3080 TI then it's probably fine but it's not cut and dry, performance for ER just sucks across the board.
The top card for Steam is a 3060 and it is better than a 2070. a 3070 is also really popular and runs the game at 4k 60 zero drops

I played Cyberpunk when it came out on my i76700k+1070 and then now on my 7800x3d+7900xtx.
Death Stranding and all of the others I played on my PC because I like 144 fps.
Money isn't an issue anymore so I have all the consoles, and I bought all the consoles I never had too just to make sure I didn't miss out on anything.
I was really poor as a kid so I'd salivate over my friends having SNES/N64/PS1/PS2 and so on... while I was on a 386, Pentium 1 and so on...
So when I got money I got it all. And most of it just collects dust and I play it once a year for 3~5 days.
But since the PS4 came out when I could afford consoles and all that, it's been very dry. I haven't really been cucked as much as a PC user as I was during the NES-PS3 era.
Now I can just play everything on the PC. And sadly usually much better then the original consoles could.
But I do still play most of the old ones on my old Samsung CRT TV.
I have both. I prefer single player games on console for the coziness and the trophy hunting. This is coming from someone whose last two console purchases were the PS5 and GameCube.

I recently connected my LG C2 to my PC because I wanted actual 4K OLED 120 Hz since most consoles don't do that yet. So I do the same I play Monhun World/Rise like that.
The only thin the PS5 does way better then the PC I have to admit is the fact that you can standby in the game at anytime and reaload it instantly at any time.
Spot on. Was a big achievement hunter on Steam and was in the top 100 on the main achievement tracking site years ago. PS simply has a better community for that type of thing vs Steam which is why I made the switch two years ago. PSNP has a super active community and is a better match for autists like me.

Xbox gets less AA Japanese multiplats that release on the Switch and PS5. The Switch still gets a lot of AA multiplats in general, it's just the AAA games that are missing it that will probably be early ports for the Switch 2. The Playstation is the default "kinda gets everything" machine though, it's the safest bet to buy as far as consoles go but PC actually gets everything. Even games like Unicorn Overlord that are missing PC will still be playable via a Switch emulator.
Switch+PS5 covers most gamers, they don't need more. Same with simply owning a PC.

Studios are in complete disarray (GaaS Spider-Man getting canned, Frowning Dyke israelites multiplayer canceled extremely late and before that the franchise itself, the one popular thing snoy had managed to achieve since PS2, got torpedoed for a vanity move), the studio acquisitions (Bungie particularly) have been a disaster. SIE is hemorrhaging money over the years with aggressive moneyhating to try and build a healthy attachment rate but it never fricking happens, golems just buy the brick, one or two homosexual movies they're told to and that's it. Nothing outside CoD, GTA and FIFA sell. For all the wannabe Apple bullshit they tried to pull, they can't get a consumer cult going.
Meanwhile, it's hard to choose which Switch game should I play in my backlog + daily gacha activities.
Consider that PS5 games are extremely short, shallow, linear, mechanically poor, unchallenging and have no replay value. That means no one's playing anything and a handful of casuals on 6 hour long ~~*experiences*~~ are dwarfing ALL multiplayer game players with their hundreds of hours. This is a symptom of a dying system.

It's 2024, there's pretty much no reason to buy a console anymore, Nintendo and Sony were the kings of the early and mid years of gaming and even now Nintendo can still hold its own thanks to brand recognition and actually making a couple of good games every year, Sony however has abandoned what they originally believed in and what people knew them for to chase trends and easy money which in the long run will probably cost them more and more respect from their own playerbase.
In my opinion they should just stop making consoles and focus everything on PC releases

Sony makes moronic decisions of all sorts on the reg but their big issue is not getting any of their GAAS push to take off, which is what they needed.
That goes back to their moronic purchase of Bungie, who keeps telling them their GaaS games are shit and can't be released in their current state. Purchasing Bungie more or less killed their live service games, which might be a good thing overall and perhaps the only good thing that comes from that acquisition because no recent GaaS game has had much staying power. The Finals is already dying despite having a promising start, it was another FotM as people go crawling back to their old GaaS games like they always do.
Same shit happened with MMOs, there can only be a few big games and it's too late for anything new to come out and succeed unless it has a ridiculous budget but even that risks being another TORtantic or Hyenas.

I have a PS5 and only use it to play big AAA single player games the week of release and then I go weeks or months without playing any games at all until the next big AA single player game comes out. Theres only 2 games this year I intend to play. FF7 Rebirth and Dragons Dogma 2. Which means I will spend March and probably April beating those games and then not playing any other games for the rest of the year.

Are you living in a cave? It's Capcom implementing a DRM called Enigma and backporting it into older releases too. That is the anti mod measure, not Denuvo. I'm a PCgay, for what it's worth. It's because I've been a PC gamer for decades that I can see the massive decline that PC gaming is seeing right now as a result of becoming too popular. Or to rephrase that, as a result of making much more money compared to what it used to. Freedoms are being revoked and games are not allowed to release due to censorship and they're not even porn, that's not a good sign.

We're slowly getting there because Hi-Fi Rush was the same. Part me wonders if it's Microsoft paying for Denuvo for those games so that people consider subbing to PC Game Pass instead of pirating them. The only thing that goes against that is Starfield not having Denuvo but Starfield ran so poorly already that it's possible that adding Denuvo wasn't an option without making it unplayable.

Bad PC ports still exist, especially when games launch. Elden Ring had microstutters at launch due to EAC, the only way to get around them was to pirate the game because the pirated version had EAC removed. Even games without Denuvo or EAC can perform poorly like Starfield. Where it was so bad that Todd got called out on during an interview with Bloomberg.

Elden Ring was playable at 60 FPS with no drops(PS4 version) or 60 with drops(PS5 version). The Series X version had VRR to cover for the drops too, it was arguably the best way to play the game at a higher resolution initially.

But it did. I have no reason to lie to you. I've been running a 3090, and my younger brother has a 3060 ti. We had no issues. My friend had a 970 with a 4760k and ran it well enough for his standards. I'm not calling this a perfect assessment of the situation, but I had a blast as did others on launch.

If the assumed number of 5-6 percent on there is correct that would mean over 6,000,000 3060 users on steam alone.

That video shows 2070's reaching far under 60 FPS even with RT off. A 2070 is better than what most PC gamers are currently using and arguably better than what the PS5 has but the PS5 is still outperforming it. If you have a 4000 series GPU or a higher end 3000 series like the 3080 TI then it's probably fine but it's not cut and dry, performance for ER just sucks across the board.

I played Cyberpunk when it came out on my i76700k+1070 and then now on my 7800x3d+7900xtx.
Death Stranding and all of the others I played on my PC because I like 144 fps.
Money isn't an issue anymore so I have all the consoles, and I bought all the consoles I never had too just to make sure I didn't miss out on anything.
I was really poor as a kid so I'd salivate over my friends having SNES/N64/PS1/PS2 and so on... while I was on a 386, Pentium 1 and so on...
So when I got money I got it all. And most of it just collects dust and I play it once a year for 3~5 days.
But since the PS4 came out when I could afford consoles and all that, it's been very dry. I haven't really been cucked as much as a PC user as I was during the NES-PS3 era.
Now I can just play everything on the PC. And sadly usually much better then the original consoles could.
But I do still play most of the old ones on my old Samsung CRT TV.
I have both. I prefer single player games on console for the coziness and the trophy hunting. This is coming from someone whose last two console purchases were the PS5 and GameCube.

I recently connected my LG C2 to my PC because I wanted actual 4K OLED 120 Hz since most consoles don't do that yet. So I do the same I play Monhun World/Rise like that.
The only thin the PS5 does way better then the PC I have to admit is the fact that you can standby in the game at anytime and reaload it instantly at any time.
Spot on. Was a big achievement hunter on Steam and was in the top 100 on the main achievement tracking site years ago. PS simply has a better community for that type of thing vs Steam which is why I made the switch two years ago. PSNP has a super active community and is a better match for autists like me.
Not that anon, but I guess I can respect that. I wouldn't give up a better overall experience for trophies though. I'm happy going for the 100% on steam.
