Not having a Switch in 2023 (or mid-tier pc) is really strange
It's literally the only platform with games
Alot of us have switches. We just don't want the remake held back by garbage hardware. Unless you're one of those people who think 30 FPS is acceptable in the current year, or that games should have excessively long load times.
Have you even played the original? Pre rendered don't need that much power
You only need a pc and soon Steam Deck 2
Is it any good?
Pretty good, yeah.
The game was beautiful on GameCube and ran so well. The animations were awesome and the constant voice acting blew me away, even if it was kind of mid. The story was awesome and the plot twist came from nowhere. But holy frick the combat was so confusing and the bosses near the end became super fricking hard. I pray this remake gives a speed up animations options. Some bosses had the longest turns with super long animations so it took forever to make it to your turn. Honestly I actually want to beat it this time so I'll take an easy mode.
The voice acting was actually terrible. Sounded like the game was recorded in a bathroom. All of them sounded real cringe.
>Sounded like the game was recorded in a bathroom
switching the audio to surround sound fixes this, don't ask me why
Anon, you can't be serious. You are not gonna make me bust out a literally 20 years old game to check this out? Goddamn it...
>remake
normally you have a very good point, but in this case I kind of doubt you played the original.
also he posted a wojack so that invalidates his entire post.
What about XCX port?
why wouldn't it be a switch exclusive? original was only on gamecube too if I remember right. I say this as someone who hasn't and won't buy a switch btw.
i'm glad they're releasing it for Switch and PC 🙂
Someone mentioned to extract the japanese dub to be played with the english sub with dolphin emulator.
Anyone here tried it?
>Bandai Namco
going to bet 20 shekels that its the same as ToS, meaning its AI upscaled and running in an emulator
BK is based, I've wanted to nut inside Xelha for as long as I've known what a nut is, and I'd shit my pants if true, but
>eXtas1s
literally fricking who
>Baten Kaitos is more alive than Skies of Arcadia
I hate Sega so much it's unreal
>skiesgays
>gaysgay
FUUUUUCK
>Original games were exclusive to GameCube
>Original devs are now owned by Nintendo
>Nintendo funded, published, and owns the second game
>The remake was probably kickstarted by Nintendo devs
What did you expect would happen? It’s not like it’s a particularly intense game either.
>also he posted a wojack so that invalidates his entire post.
Lyude has the coollest finisher spells. Intermezzo was stylish as hell and finale is the goat.
Frick yes I was a huge baiten kaitos fan. I loved origin and i lost the copy. Frick please remake that game I never beat it and I would love to try
Sounds like a neat idea. That being said I need to know how far they are into "remake" and how deep they are into "remaster" before I get excited. Suikoden started off as a "remake" too, until it was called "remaster" and looks worse in every way.
Yeah....but i want others to be able to play Suikoden 1/2 on Switch for cheap. Not buy ps1 games for $400. gay.
Tldr, ill take what i can get because the devs are already finished, so what can we do, gay?
Same shit with ToS, we can't get a 60fps version with all the PS2 extras.
>lewd fanart of xelha/savyna/melodia/corellia/ayme for the first time ever
plEASE GOD MY DICK HAS BEEN WAITING TWO DECADES FOR THIS
If it's developed by Monolith Soft, I suppose that this project is dead or never existed in the first place...
Remakes are often used to create relationships with new secondary teams, get new devs familiar with internal coding practices, all while having a less demanding project for creatives while they work on the next big project.
In other words, Monolith's next-gen game is probably still in the works. Xenoblade 3 was already sort of a message to "Don't expect more of the same from us".
I don't think it was ever representative of an actual game in development, just concept art in a recruitment page for how Monolith wanted a new franchise that would be different from their usual games.
They might be working on a new IP, but given how it was framed as an ambitious project I imagine development was moved to the next gen system.
Just port the original. I'd rather it didn't have homosexual Xenosoy combat.
It was shit
All Monolith games are shit
The girls are good coomfuel but they make fricking single-player MMOs with terrible stories they're all fricking awful
>it was shit
>single-player MMO
everyone can tell you've never played Baten Kaitos, shitposter-kun, because it's nothing like Xenoblade
>26 hour grind to get a single item
It's a MMO
It's not remotely even necessary.
So there's a chance I can get rule 34 of my Wakka knockoff husbando?
>Remake
>not Remaster
Ok, I hope this means that they will do a few things, like speed up combat, completely redo the voice acting. Most of the voices weren't bad for what they wanted to do inflection wise, but it was obvious that only Kalus and Xhela had proper direction for half the game. The others were just kind of guessing. If they get the same people, prepare for them knowing the games context and for scenes to get even more intense. Shame all the kid characters will need to be recast though.
