I haven't followed this game much but IJ5 did horrible with test screenings and Disney did an absolute shit ton of reshoots to change the things the test audiences didn't like. Basically the same thing that happened with the last of the new Star Wars trilogy.

The leak was confirmed by a lot of people and then suddenly 4-5 months before release the ending was changed to him being brought back home to say sorry to his ex wife for being a loser etc. Basically changed to ruin the character but not as much as the original ending had
