Tried it during one of the stress tests a few months ago, was at times fun, at times a clusterfrick. A little too milsim for my liking as well, but I'm so starved for a decent BF game I may just pick it up.
whether it's a clusterfrick or not is entirely dependent on player count, map size, map configuration and mode.
32v32 and 128v128 are always clusterfricks.
64v64 is a clusterfrick on all modes except conquest, and on all maps except for a few that give you enough space to work with (isle for example). even when the map is right, some map configurations are utterly insane.

c4 tank kills are always very rewarding in this regard because there's multiple people in that tank that didn't see you coming and all die in an instant.
VOIP is evil and bad because it sometimes requires a little bit of moderation, and that costs a little bit of money, so developers/publishers would rather just not do it.
Yeah but your mileage may vary because if you have a group decent enough you can influence the zerg to win. Most games have a few squads doing this though so it's rare you can just stomp for free.
Otherwise you get to be part of 50 man zerg rushes every few minutes. Gankerirgins hate it because you can /git gud/ at it. Currently it's all about drilling hordes of noobs.
Hopefully once bigger maps come out the pacing can be a little less hectic for more strategic play, better for the casuals too.

I'm 3 hours in and it's not that bad, it runs pretty good and the gunplay is pretty decent. there are alot of guns and attachments but the progression system is kinda meh. It's awesome when you communciate and coordinate with your squad and shit talk with the noobs that you kill. It's doesn't crash and there aren't so many bugs. For now I have only played in 127 v 127 in 2 maps, one was decent and the other one was shit, I hope that the other maps are decent. If you wanna try an BF clone with shittier graphics, more fps, voip and you like 256 player mayhem you shoud try it
how do I get good? nobody else seems to know what theyre doing either because half the time I try following a small group and we just get shot by a vehicle or something that happens to come past. I spend more time trying to find the action than I do getting to shoot at anything

Flir also doesn't even have them show up if they're over a certain distance. maybe 3 or 4 hundred.
The recoil system in this game sucks with it being based on first shot recoil and then the vertical/horizontal recoil stats combined.
It's so stupid that your gun becomes less accurate if you put it on single fire or burst because of the way first shot recoil works
That bug's been debunked. When you're zoomed in, the recoil appears magnified too. And since your sensitivity is lower when you're zoomed in, you're less able to deal with it.
That's the thing about battlebit, it has better maps than 2042, even after Dice spent over a year revamping all their shitty maps.
2042 maps have to be the shittiest maps in a shooter, I genuinely want to play none of them
Semi true. It's definitely better than DICE's attempt, but it is still a mindless clusterfrick compared to 64 players. I still agree with the point that approx 64 players is the sweet spot where you get the feeling of a big battle but individual players still somewhat matter.
The problem is the TTK is super variable based on the gun you're using. It's lightning speed with some and extremely slow with others. The balance in general is just shit with entire classes and weapon categories like assault and DMRs being useless

For me it's the M4A1. Getting headshot by a starter weapon as soon as I get out of cover is very strange and very frustrating, and no sign of the shooter anywhere. Also some people seem to have hyper awareness of your position.

No minimap = Less information meaning you will die more to randomness as you don't know where people are. you might be able to figure it out if you sit still and observe but that is cringe / low skill ceiling behaviour
No HP regen = you run medic. but then downtime is 8-12 seconds which is cringe. If you're a good player like me, you play Assault because I run out of ammo well before dying. Hampering me with low HP.

Have you played the game?
The game is fast, recoil is hard to control, less aim required only if you're on top of the enemy. No minimap doesn't mean less information, you just gotta listen and use head tilt to find the enemies, if you don't wanna be found out use drones.

battlebit visibility is honestly still pretty bad, despite the art direction.
that said, it does help with performance. more fps games should realize that these kinds of games have to run consistently at 120fps+ for the game to feel good, not just close to 60fps.

32v32 and 128v128 are always clusterfricks.
64v64 is a clusterfrick on all modes except conquest, and on all maps except for a few that give you enough space to work with (isle for example). even when the map is right, some map configurations are utterly insane.

I'm 3 hours in and it's not that bad, it runs pretty good and the gunplay is pretty decent. there are alot of guns and attachments but the progression system is kinda meh. It's awesome when you communciate and coordinate with your squad and shit talk with the noobs that you kill. It's doesn't crash and there aren't so many bugs. For now I have only played in 127 v 127 in 2 maps, one was decent and the other one was shit, I hope that the other maps are decent. If you wanna try an BF clone with shittier graphics, more fps, voip and you like 256 player mayhem you shoud try it

The recoil system in this game sucks with it being based on first shot recoil and then the vertical/horizontal recoil stats combined.
It's so stupid that your gun becomes less accurate if you put it on single fire or burst because of the way first shot recoil works

The problem is the TTK is super variable based on the gun you're using. It's lightning speed with some and extremely slow with others. The balance in general is just shit with entire classes and weapon categories like assault and DMRs being useless

For me it's the M4A1. Getting headshot by a starter weapon as soon as I get out of cover is very strange and very frustrating, and no sign of the shooter anywhere. Also some people seem to have hyper awareness of your position.

The game is fast, recoil is hard to control, less aim required only if you're on top of the enemy. No minimap doesn't mean less information, you just gotta listen and use head tilt to find the enemies, if you don't wanna be found out use drones.
