Fricking kek
Aren't there cheat items to get the achievements without having to learn mahjong?
No. In K2 you would need three NG+ runs to get the completion list tick since you need 10 wins, and I can't remember if you need tournaments as well. In Judgment you can't use them for the specific hands you need and would need to grind for longer than it would take to just learn the game to afford the 30 or 50 Peerless Tiles you need. In many of the games you can only get one or two Peerless Tiles, and in virtually all of them you need to make specific hands.
Yes, RDR2's are a joke outside of the one blackjack one where you need 5 cards and still win. Even then you could make that finish in under an hour by sitting at the end of the table so turns go by faster. RDR1's minigames were way harder than RDR2's.
Probably part of the wareme ruleset.
>In K2 you would need three NG+ runs to get the completion list tick since you need 10 wins
Huh I don't remember going to NG+ to do the completion list stuff. I think I completed it all before fighting the final boss actually.
If you're relying on Peerless Tiles I mean. You only get two or three per playthrough.
>RDR1's minigames were way harder than RDR2's.
How,did you get filtered by fricking horseshoes?
I don't remember horseshoes being bad outside of some questionable throws at times but I do remember Five Finger Fillet, Liar's Dice, and Arm Wrestling being quite annoying.
Not played them but if one achievement is to get thirteen orphans or some shit you'd kind of need it. It's rare, not royal flush rare but still. I've played thousands of games and been terrible at Mahjong for years and I've still not seen thirteen orphans naturally. Couple of the other big yakumen.
I just want 綠一色 man its not even that rare but its my green whale.
the greatest rush of dopamine i have ever gotten was getting a thirteen orphans of the initial draw
Thirteen Orphans aren't a requirement in any game, and the Peerless Tile guarantees you one within the first draw at the start of the game if you use it. The most you need to do are Full Straights, All Pairs, and if you get unlucky with the wareme friendship in Judgment you need to do stuff like Three Color Straights and Identical Sequences.
>All Pairs
ez, I hate it as a setup though because your waits will always be 1 and a 1 wait is terrible.
>Three Color Straights and Identical Sequences
I mean not bad but you're going to be playing dozens and dozens of rounds of mahjong if you're lucky. I mean, I'm cool with that myself I fricking love having my soul eroded by Mahjong but its a real time demand.
Then again you're playing a game that's a japanese soap opera and minigame simulator, so I don't know man sounds like you're getting what you asked for.
It's mainly new players who get thrown off by these things, especially because they don't know how to form those hands or do anything more than the basic hands. You also need to luck into an ippatsu in a couple games along with winning with 50,000 points when you start with 25,000. They dropped this to 40k in later games.
Another thing in Yakuza games is that up until Lost Judgment and Ishin Kiwami the table difficulties were flipped, so the easiest tables would Double Riichi, they'd get haneman and baiman hands almost every hand, they'd be pretty much guaranteed ippatsus, and so on while the hardest tables go out on 1 han hands almost exclusively and if they're not it's very low value hands. The hardest tables also steal like crazy to the point you know more than half their hands whereas the easiest tables only steal if they have something that's going to work. Because beginners don't know this they play the easiest table (Which is actually the hardest) and get completely bodied.
kek yeah I noticed that trying to complete it in 0. For some reason playing at the hard table the games went on for longer and allowed you to build better hands, while the easy table called ron after like 5 turns.
I find it annoying that there's stuff under the hood giving opponents and you hands that are statistically fake at any difficulty. I'd like to get some intuition about how to play mahjong for real and not some mutant weighted probability version
Cheating means you didn’t beat the game. You deliberately trying to make someone mad doesn’t mean you have experience in said thing, it just makes you an immature homosexual.
what are you talking about you fricking schizo
>Yakuza fans never played them I swear
>He can't learn the extremely easy board games like Cee-lo, Chou-han, and Oicho-kabu which two of are literally just rolling dice and the other is just baccarat.
>Koi-koi you can just fling cards at each other without knowing what does what and win by pure chance even if you don't know any of the rules.
>You can just look up a video of challenge 1 of shogi in nearly all games and repeat it five times to finish the completion list outside of either 7 or LJ.
Yeah, you gotta learn mahjong, and? Just don't steal tiles and you've already prevented 90% of the issues you will have as a beginner. If you can learn poker hands or have played gin rummy you can learn mahjong.
Yes, I know you don't riichi on a Thirteen Orphans, I only did after the fact.
why the frick are there 2 dora indicators at the very start?
It's just like a little house rule thiong.
So the max is still 5, or do they go to 6 then?
still 5
>Yes, I know you don't riichi on a Thirteen Orphans, I only did after the fact.
you always riichi
riichi guarantees better flow
Eh sometimes it's better to not riichi, say there is only one tile that can give you the win, then it's better to try to assemble a better hand, or if you know your opponent is looking for a tile you might be forced to give it to him if you called riichi
>luckshitter barely gets the easiest yakuman in existence
is this supposed to be impressive?
No, it's just a webm of me getting it for the first time across the entire series. Took like eight games to do it.
Is it harder than RDR2 mini games/side challenges? I am a completionist gay to a degree and perfected RDR2, but some achievements are just plain bullshit and if I know 100% it's an achievement I can't get because skill issue then I leave it at that.
>stop playing mahjong for a year or two
>forgot everything and have to relearn all over again
I just started playing Mahjong Soul and I have seen there are Akagi avatars and shit, can you still get them?
no. those crossover events are always only limited times. and they usually don't get reruns. (Saki had one but that was more of a season 2 with new characters)
next crossover seems to be some vtuber shit. and not even the well known once.
you can buy an account with them from some chinese or SEA monkey
>do not steal
>throw away winds and dragons if you don't have a chance to make a hand
>save triplets and three in a row
>win because AI is moronic
I like to keep winds a little longer than I should efficiency wise just because I swear I just end up with more winds somehow. My first yakumen little winds and I've had a couple of big winds.
I guess I eat my fricking beans.
>he discarded the tile
I regret to inform you that I learned mahjong in ffxiv for an achievement
i ended up now quitting all games and playing mahjong irl and got addicted to majsoul.
room doko?
Majsoul Friends Room 76678(4-Player East): https://mahjongsoul.game.yo-star.com/?room=76678
Come on guys we need only one more
GG, didn't notice we were playing east
Should I setup another? I make them east so people aren't stuck for too much time
You won by THAT much a margin and still complain?
yeah, we usually play south
Alright
Majsoul Friends Room 30116(4-Player South): https://mahjongsoul.game.yo-star.com/?room=30116
As you have seen I just started playing couple days ago, amazing how a gacha game gave me no incentive of investing in the gacha by making the default girl the best one already
I already started a ranked game 🙁
gg my dudes
I prefer east games fwiw
i am just saying if i encountered that in ranked i'd be a little bit wary. usually i am on the receiving end of bullshit like that.
But i know here all is in good fun and no one was colluding with me as far as i know.
GG. nice rigged game. Time for sleep.
Shogi and mahjong are the only shit I skip in Yakuza games.
i learned it while literally taking a shit bro
>OP has a learning disability
so you ignored the wonderful combat mechanics and jumped straight into a minigame
> overcomplicated shit no one in the right mind could ever understand
> Throw the game away
> Yakuza fans never played them I swear
you are fricking moronic
mahjong is a lot of fun, the only time it wasn't very fun was Judgment. Maybe I was on a bad streak but it took an incredible amount of time to slog through it. Yakuza mahjong gives you good hands, more often than irl mahjong. So it's a lot more snappy and fun, despite irl mahjong being fun too.
acktually I picked up Yakuza BECAUSE my friend sent me a taunt like HEY see this green shit? Why is your shit here in my game? Yeah. Loved every single one of them. Too brainlet to let zombies werk on emulator though, it shows one singular opening pic and doesn't move further. F

Use the settings I have in the picture, they work to get it running just fine, and I played several hours of my Ryuji section save without a crash or issues. The entire Champion District section even ran at a stable 30 FPS. I'm also runnning around as Akiyama right now just to test and it's a stable 30 no issues.
Just lower the internal resolution if your computer can't handle it. Remember, if you are playing above 540p 15 FPS you are playing better than a PS3, so even if it's running like trash if it runs better than that just play it. Make sure you also manage the game patches by right-clicking the game since it's mandatory for it to run properly. If you don't do it the framerate has many issues and you get a shimmering on the left side at higher resolutions.
Okay, just had a crash in Pure Love in Kamurocho with Hana but last time I did it I didn't get a crash so I have no idea if it's the newer updates or what. Either way it's still quite stable so give it a go.
Thank you very much.
I actually learned to play mahjong before I started the Yakuza series because I heard there were mandatory pain in the ass mahjong quests. Ended up loving the game and binging mahjong for months before I ever touched a Yakuza game. And then I found out you can just cheese those quests with an easy to obtain item and I didn't really have to learn mahjong at all
First thing, you now are able to break most yakuza as soon as free roam is available. Yakuza 3 early good weapons ez lyfe. Yakuza 7 zero poorgay times. Yakuza 0 "multiplayer" mahjong cheese. And second, you still need it for "gather five of the thing" type of requirement in the games asking to clean up the entire minigame challenge list.
akagi is moe
Mahjong in Judgment is the most broken piece of shit and you can't convince me otherwise
Is judgement the worst RGG to complete mahjong in?
I can't, I'm still waiting for a better discount. 5 mil tournament table in y7 was pretty bullshit, as the bots were teaming up against the player for once, having a dedicated deal-in loser among them
also both virtual on and disco are harder than 'jongs
>too mentally ill to play normally
>but not mentally ill enough to compete with Chinese grannies
https://mahjong.guide/a-beginners-guide-to-riichi-mahjong/
It's 2023 you have no excuse for not knowing how to play mahjong by now
being a completionist is close to a mental disorder. at the very least it means you have no respect for your time and therefore no respect for yourself.
you'll enjoy games like this if you just toss aside the minigames and collectables the second they get boring.
well at least two people had fun
honestly playing friendlies is a mastery. For example I tried to go for cool kid suuankou, spent few extra turns on that but sanankou sucked me in anyway
>Pick random tile
>Game yells CHI at me
>be completionist
wow frick off anytime
go collect korok seeds homosexual
>go collect korok seeds homosexual
Okay, now what?
go 101% donkey kong 64
I'm glad you got filtered by Yakuza. Being a completionist is ridiculous. Imagine feeling obligated to play parts of a game you intensely dislike just because it's there.
B4 404 Are there any good websites / apps / games that are useful to learn to play mahjong for someone with absolutely zero experience or exposure?
Mahjong Soul and FFXIV both apparently have good guides. Yakuza's is straight up just information overload.
You really just need to know not to steal tiles and that instantly cuts out so much of the trouble you can have. The biggest issue with a lot of the guides is they use Japanese terms for everything and Japanese hand names for whatever reason when there's translated names for them. You also need to learn what furiten (If you discarded a tile you can't ron off that same tile later on), yaku (A valid group of tiles that grant you points), and tenpai (Being one tile away from winning) are because those three are constantly used in so many guides that if you don't know what they are it reads like gibberish.
Go look at a list of yaku and only focus on basic ones like Full Straight, All Pairs, Identical Sequences, Three Color Straight, Full Color Straight, and no honors. If you learn those extremely basic yaku you can make very basic hands work out, and since you're not stealing you'll almost always have a successful hand as long as you understand how you make a hand of 14 tiles.
maujong! for android is the only phone riichi with bots allowing you to infinitely replay the exact same wall/starting hand, and the only one saving your session mid-game, and it also weights sexy optimized 5 mb or somesuch
Frick it, I'll try that and Majong Soul, or make friends with an older Asian woman
>older Asian woman
the only ones playing mahjong are japanese bandits and mentally ill weebs
mahjong is a zoomer game
but it's exclusively played by japanese boomers
maujong is completely unfit for newhomosexuals even if it's a good app otherwise
what newbies should do is play the switch clubhouse games on emulator or actual switch, if after all the ingame explanations and test runs you still have zero idea what to do then it's purely a mental deficiency
>Drops a game because he's too small-brained to learn something new
This is worse than claiming to be a fan of a series without having played said series before.
if the discord community is fun and there are fun memes or gameplay clips you can be a fan without playing though
I'm going to play Yakuza for the first time next Steam Sale... only for Mahjong, and no one will convince me otherwise
>>Have to play ching chong pin lin kong overcomplicated shit no one in the right mind could ever understand
