I was around lvl 90. I got to snowfield before i ever step foot in the castle. Actually when i got to him i made a new character and rushed to fight him for a more authentic experience and thought he was over rated.

Whatever level I was. It only took me 2-3 tries to kill him, he wasn't a very hard boss. God I fricking hate Elden Ring tho. Worst souls game ever. >muh input reading open world and anime moves! xDD

I can't remember, I just know getting to him was a lot harder than killing him which is to say he was very underwhelming especially coming off margarita.
Levels don't matter.
It's the allocation of stats that matters.
You can get to level 300 but if you only max out the health, stamina and mind stats then you're not gonna 1 or shot the boss. Levels don't matter.
Your actual level doesn't really matter that much unless you go far beyond what taht area is expected of you
Now if you went in with a +10 or whatever weapon, yeah, you're gonna melt him in just a few hits
