Be honest

How much have you spent on vidya your entire life?

Even factoring in discounts, it's about $6,000 for me.

    About like 4 thousand.
That's one console a generation after I started buying my own and and 1 computer I bought myself.
Everything else was gifted. not bad for like 20 years after my first video game related purchase.

Maybe $250 cuz I didn't have a PC as a teen. Now I just pirate everything besides Battlefield 4, got that for $10

    >$6,0000 for videogames
Are we talking in one year? I've spent well over $50,000. Don't listen to the tourists and pirates that leech off the industry, they are worthless.

Like 400 dollars in total. Half of it on second hand consoles and the rest are games I buy on steam whenever they are 50% off or higher. Or course I hacked the consoles for free games

I dont have a clear number but its not much. Im a huge autist when it comes to replaying games. I can replay a game infinitly so I can have fun with the same games even years after I beat them multible times. Im replaying Stalker right now and Im still having a blast.

I do buy new games but the highest I go for is 2 new games a year. It does have benefits because with the spare money I can buy stuff I actually need you know?

One game I bought for a bunch of friends to help support the game and because I wanted them to try it. That probably cost me $2k by itself. I usually buy all DLC for games that I buy if I like them to help support the devs and I have quite a few games to put it lightly. Not sure if you're counting consoles, PC, and handhelds with regard to the costs, but a lot of the posts here seem to be assuming you are, which also runs the total up higher. I also played a decent amount of MMOs, where I have put money in unfortunately.

Like 1500 bucks because I made my own PC as a high schooler.
I used mommy's credit card for the games/consoles when I was a wee lad 🙂

I THINK it's more than 1k but less than 2k. And then around 4k on hardware. 10 something years.

do you count built PCs, handhelds and consoles, or just game copies?
strictly games, probably under 5K, 4K of that from when I was a kid and only played NES/SNES/N64 and didn't know how to buy shit 85% off/didn't have the option because nintendo has never done sales even back then.

I don't keep track, but it's definitely been a couple thousand over my lifetime. My brother and I would pool our birthday/christmas money together to get games/consoles as kids and I've got 600+ games on Steam currently. So it could easily be $5000+

  21. 2 years ago

    A lot.

    >Traded in older games all the time to get new ones when I was younger. I estimate around $15,000+ in trade-ins or buying outright.
    >Spent at least $5000 on steam games alone over the years.
    >Currently working on rebuying a lot of my collection to have a physical copy of everything as a hobby of mine. Spent at least $6,000 so far.
    >No telling on consoles. I've owned at least one of each major console in my lifetime and have rebought consoles in the past.

I don't have the mental fortitude to count every single game I bought in my life discount factored, but at least I don't subscribe to vidya ever, did buy merch before like a reimu plushy among other things

How the frick would I even count that?Several hundreds of video games and two dozen systems spanning three decades, do you want me to dig everything up and adjust for inflation? I can't even ballpark it given I've bought some used, some on sale and because so much time has passed
