How much bullshit do I have to do to get the premium BLU shit? I got it to 70 and all the basic strong spells but it was just too limited for me to care.

Hey, they could have really put in effort and did neat things like every skill has a passive ability attached to it that can sometimes be powerful enough to guarantee its placement in your BLU skillset depending on the role you're occupying like FFXI did. No one told them to make it extremely basic.
As someone who has been Raiding with BLU, it's mainly the fault of the developers for making most of the spells shit.

And dont forget: Actual raid bosses are all immune to status effects, so the only useful ones for actual raiding are damage spells and the ones that amplify damage.
In the end, BLU is pigeonholed on the same dps bullshit of the other jobs, but worse because Tank/Healer blus are assigned random mechanics.

Every new patch it feels like the fights get easier, but the PF gets worse at their ability to do or recognize mechanics. Almost everything in the game nowadays is some mechanic that's been done before, or combined with another mechanic that has also been done before, but people just act like everything is new and can never understand how shit works.

Did the p10n fight yesterday and people had troubles undoing the web tethers and had to do it myself the first two times to show it to them. Explaining to them wasn't enough, they had to see it visually.
You can avoid getting tethered the first 2 or 3 times it happens if you are far enough from everyone plus poles but need to be in the middle. Afterwards more people get the AOE so it's hard to completely cheese it so untethered people need to break you and others free. First succesful time had tank melee and ranged dps having the AOEs and the stayed: >tank North center >melee center >ranged South center
and they didn't get tethered at all.

I think it's because it's fricking boring.
I absolutely smashed O12S back in the day but I still have to fiddle when a new limit cut comes out because I hate it and my brain thinks "ok glad we'll never have to do that shit again" when I get past it. It's not fun, or interesting, or new, fresh, or anything. It's just like having to duck when you go into your office because the door is too small. Sometimes you'll bang your head because all the other doors in your life are not badly implemented and you're used to those instead of automatically crouching to avoid it.
They CAN do "kind of interesting" mechanics like that fricking crystal bear thing with the exploding cracks - it's nothing special but it's fricking NEW. It's faster paced, feels SLIGHTLY more like an actual fight rather than a dance, and if one person gets clipped it's not an arbitrary instant wipe for the entire group. Even Sil'dihn did mistakes better where you can frick up or just get clipped and have it not affect your run if you make up for it by playing well.
Oracle is from FFV (advance) and so is Krile

Anima didn't have content specifically made for the relic. Zodiac had Hydra and Chimera, which is at least more than EW relic has. Eureka and Bozja had whole entire zones with shitloads of other content.

180 fricking normal raid clears as a "one time" grind for content where most people only got 1 relic because it was so fricking soul crushing

shut the frick up. one hundred and eighty normal raids. even if you have an extremely cracked group every time, get near instant ques and only que for the fastest raids for each category of item, you're still going to average about 7m per run meaning in total you're looking at roughly 21 fricking hours minimum just to get htis one(1)((singular)) step done

doing normal raids is objectively the faster way because of how long it takes fates for spawn (especailly the critical engagements) on top of them taking about as long as a normal raid to do on average (the fast curbstomp ones are about as fast as running a1s 30 times) even when this was on content. years later nobody is even in half the parts of bozja that you need to get the parts for anymore
nobody wants to do this shit. bozja has been out for half a decade at this point and all the stats show at most only 50% of the characters even did the relic step because it was fricking boring and watching moronic relic grinders wipe in CE's over and over because they're too stupid to use essences or read boss telegraphs made it boring for everyone else that tried to engage with the content.

You have tons of avenues to add these items for content that could absolutely have it with no negative effects and you just do what you like:
Eureka Orthos, Variant/Criterion, Island Sanctuary, Unreal, Ocean Fishing, BLU Log, and Expert Crafts
Boom, no FATE grinding, almost all level 90 content, you have multiple options, and it's more interesting than getting shit you already got by mindless running the same roulettes over and over again

Not anon, but I would rather not do lvl 50 fates again even in BLU. But then again, I'm not interested in these relics so I just don't do them.
It's like doing delubrum in EW for the relic. Long wait time (and don't forget the 10mn obligatory queue timer), duration random based on if people are using things or not... This is not even the worst one for me, I did not even finish one book from ARR because it sucks so bad. So bad. For me, relics acquisition should involve one time objectives serie quests then tomes would be okay once completed. Unfortunately, EW has nothing besides (skipped) Manderville quests, so yeah it sucks.
I hate to break it to you but whatever they do for the relic next expac will be shat on because it's too "grindy" and "time-consuming" and "limited" compared to EW's tome grind. There's no escape from this, it has happened every single expac.
Who cares about ultimate weapons beside casuals mad they can't learn mechanics? the fights only get easier the more you wait, give us feast shit instead.
The problem with Bozja and Eureka ks that that shit isnt fun to play. I can grind for 1/120000 drops in PSO all day because actually playing the game is fun, but the moment to moment gameplay in XIV kind of sucks dick outside of raiding so having to mindlessly mash my damage rotation on overworld nobs for 30 hours isn't something I want to engage in. Make the game fun to play and then we can talk about putting in long grinds.
Bozja and Eureka are *pretty* fun compared to the rest of the game BECAUSE you can customize your build. By that I mean: >optional haste gear (would be nice to have other stat boosts) >logos actions >lost actions >scaled to people in instance >consumables unique to the instance

Mostly because they do not add anything actually cool. 90% of the spells are the same fricking shit that does not allow any creativity. And the spells that they already added? Nope sorry bro you can't use it it doesn't work on anything.
Hey, they could have really put in effort and did neat things like every skill has a passive ability attached to it that can sometimes be powerful enough to guarantee its placement in your BLU skillset depending on the role you're occupying like FFXI did. No one told them to make it extremely basic.
As someone who has been Raiding with BLU, it's mainly the fault of the developers for making most of the spells shit.

I want to do more wacky shit with BLU spells, but it really does feel like there's about 80 - 90 spells that aren't really worthwhile and then the rest that people actually use like Cold Fog and Matra Magic.
And dont forget: Actual raid bosses are all immune to status effects, so the only useful ones for actual raiding are damage spells and the ones that amplify damage.
In the end, BLU is pigeonholed on the same dps bullshit of the other jobs, but worse because Tank/Healer blus are assigned random mechanics.

Depends on the fight but typically easier from my memory since the first two turns don't have ilvl sync and diamondback makes some mechanics very simple

Did the p10n fight yesterday and people had troubles undoing the web tethers and had to do it myself the first two times to show it to them. Explaining to them wasn't enough, they had to see it visually.

You can avoid getting tethered the first 2 or 3 times it happens if you are far enough from everyone plus poles but need to be in the middle. Afterwards more people get the AOE so it's hard to completely cheese it so untethered people need to break you and others free. First succesful time had tank melee and ranged dps having the AOEs and the stayed:

I absolutely smashed O12S back in the day but I still have to fiddle when a new limit cut comes out because I hate it and my brain thinks "ok glad we'll never have to do that shit again" when I get past it. It's not fun, or interesting, or new, fresh, or anything. It's just like having to duck when you go into your office because the door is too small. Sometimes you'll bang your head because all the other doors in your life are not badly implemented and you're used to those instead of automatically crouching to avoid it.
They CAN do "kind of interesting" mechanics like that fricking crystal bear thing with the exploding cracks - it's nothing special but it's fricking NEW. It's faster paced, feels SLIGHTLY more like an actual fight rather than a dance, and if one person gets clipped it's not an arbitrary instant wipe for the entire group. Even Sil'dihn did mistakes better where you can frick up or just get clipped and have it not affect your run if you make up for it by playing well.

doing normal raids is objectively the faster way because of how long it takes fates for spawn (especailly the critical engagements) on top of them taking about as long as a normal raid to do on average (the fast curbstomp ones are about as fast as running a1s 30 times) even when this was on content. years later nobody is even in half the parts of bozja that you need to get the parts for anymore
nobody wants to do this shit. bozja has been out for half a decade at this point and all the stats show at most only 50% of the characters even did the relic step because it was fricking boring and watching moronic relic grinders wipe in CE's over and over because they're too stupid to use essences or read boss telegraphs made it boring for everyone else that tried to engage with the content.

You have tons of avenues to add these items for content that could absolutely have it with no negative effects and you just do what you like:
Eureka Orthos, Variant/Criterion, Island Sanctuary, Unreal, Ocean Fishing, BLU Log, and Expert Crafts
Boom, no FATE grinding, almost all level 90 content, you have multiple options, and it's more interesting than getting shit you already got by mindless running the same roulettes over and over again

It's like doing delubrum in EW for the relic. Long wait time (and don't forget the 10mn obligatory queue timer), duration random based on if people are using things or not... For me, relics acquisition should involve one time objectives serie quests then tomes would be okay once completed. Unfortunately, EW has nothing besides (skipped) Manderville quests, so yeah it sucks.

The problem with Bozja and Eureka ks that that shit isnt fun to play. I can grind for 1/120000 drops in PSO all day because actually playing the game is fun, but the moment to moment gameplay in XIV kind of sucks dick outside of raiding so having to mindlessly mash my damage rotation on overworld nobs for 30 hours isn't something I want to engage in. Make the game fun to play and then we can talk about putting in long grinds.
Bozja and Eureka are *pretty* fun compared to the rest of the game BECAUSE you can customize your build. By that I mean:
>optional haste gear (would be nice to have other stat boosts)
>logos actions
>lost actions
>scaled to people in instance
>consumables unique to the instance
They're what old MMOs were like, but yeah the combat is still pretty shitty. Just click-click-click. Nothing exciting.
