I just emulated it yesterday on Xenia and found out that aiming with a controller is fricking moronic. Sad that such a great game is stuck with shit controls.
i never played the original because my parents wouldnt let me own consoles because they were cheap and said a pc is enough. that being said im not buying anything serious on switch hardware without a serious upgrade. im just going mobile or pc now. huh. i guess they were right.
It's all so tiresome.
What are the odds that they actually do have a 9th gen remake being developed and being kept quiet so that rockstar can force people to pay twice? Once for the ps4 port and again for a remake in rdr2 engine?
Am I just clutching at straws here?
That's not an unreasonable assumption. One theory is that they didn't want for Switch and PS4 people to feel left out, so they pushed out the literal port, not even a remaster so they also can play, while the new generation consoles and PC will get the remake.
I doubt it though, mainly because gta6 will be out likely by summer 24 earliest or winter 24 latest, rock* wouldn't want to distract and divide players attention and wallets by releasing 2 games relatively close together. Maybe at a push they would release a remake for winter 23. That would keep players tided over for 6 months to a year waiting for gta6, so if we don't see a remake by this winter we never will.
I would say no but the fact its only coming out for PS4 means there's a chance they will release a remake on next gen consoles and are releasing this 'conversion' for the smooth brains who have showed Rockstar their dumb enough to double and even triple dip
Absolutely ill buy this, that is, if this came out 6 years ago like I wanted. Now I fully expect a remake in the new gen engine, failing that it's a no buy. Bravo shitstar
Oh boy, I can't wait to play a game everyone else played 13 years ago, then played the sequel to it fie years ago, except at low settings with sub-30 framerates.
>not on pc >even if it'll be on pc, no multiplayer >even if it'll be on pc, why would you buy anything from the most profitable non-console manufacturer gaming company
I honestly couldn't get through the intro with the two hags never shutting up. Imagine putting up with a whole game that has never ending dialogue like that. No thanks!
It's true. I've already completely forgotten who I am or what I've done with my life. I cleared up all that "hard drive" space to make room for more video games, which I love! Love!
They were stupid enough to not bring it to PC, the place it never showed up despite a whole bunch of RDR2 players buying on PC and wanting to play RDOnline so they like the setting. Fricking moronic not to release it on PC.
No. Even if it's a great game technically, i'm not an "open minded" homosexual who don't mind playing a game in shitty settings.
The only rpgs i'm willing to play are FANTASY rpgs.
It's an atmospheric 3rd person shooter set in the old west. A really nice open world full of nature animals and bandits. For its time it was one of the best open world games but its aged since then. Luckily they made a second one. Oh and the zombie dlc they made was fricking so fun and the spooky ambience was great. Best Halloween game ever.
John is a great protagonist and the story is actually really well-written. It’s more of a cowboy simulator than an actual videogame and despite it being a technical marvel, it’s a very boring game overall. I’d highly recommend just sticking to playing through the story missions as the world is mostly empty so exploring it ultimately feels pointless.
>What's this game about?
A former outlaw going on a quest to hunt down his old gang to get immunity from the U.S. government and return to his wife and son. Wonderful story with amazing music.
depends: is the physical version gonna have the whole game + dlc or it will be a glorified download voucher, if former yes i would; if not rockstar can suck my dick while i find a ps3 copy of "the game of the year edition"
My only version of RDR is a PS3 copy I got for like 10 dollars years ago, thing is I don't really feel like plugging in my PS3 is it at least easy to emulate on steam deck?
Nah
gonna emulate it at 60fps
based
I'm doing that now
I just emulated it yesterday on Xenia and found out that aiming with a controller is fricking moronic. Sad that such a great game is stuck with shit controls.
switch/ps4 has gyro controls
it's worth $50, I'm surprised they aren't charging sixty because they could
I already own it on 360
I already bought it for $20 years ago.
Got the 4K 60fps Xbox version
No such thing. Xbox Series consoles can run it at 4K, but it's still 30 fps.
Im still SHOCKED they even did that. It's the best way to go unless you use emulators.
Yes.
Based double dippers
i never played the original because my parents wouldnt let me own consoles because they were cheap and said a pc is enough. that being said im not buying anything serious on switch hardware without a serious upgrade. im just going mobile or pc now. huh. i guess they were right.
I'm gonna see how it runs on Yuzu next week
I did not play this one so yes I will buy it. Honestly I really doubt people actually played the original.
The game sold 15 million copies by 2011 man
Bro, the original is read dead revolver. If they were going for a remake/remaster they should have started with that. I really liked Jack in that one.
this but Gun
This to both
Maybe once it's 20 bucks or something
Yes.
I bought it over 13 years ago
I am gonna buy it at $30
>buy it
I am playing it at 1440p 60FPS on my PC doeeverbeit
Already own the Xbox360 version but I'll pirate the Switch version to see if it emulates any better than the other console versions.
If it's a good port I will, loved RDR
Rockstar traget audience is brainlets, they will buy eve fart(trilogy) from them
I'm going to buy just to piss of RDR2 trannies and post it here with a sticky note that RDR2 is the worst game ever
I emulated the other day. God aiming with a controller sucks. Please give me a PC port
https://github.com/vStar925/RDR1-Keyboard-Mouse
its a shame this mod requires rewasd which is israeliteed as frick software
im gonna wait till it goes for 10 dollars on sale to buy it, thats the max im willing to pay for a port of a video game
Probably, if it runs well
It's all so tiresome.

maybe, if there's a physical version
There's one releasing in October
God rdr1 really was warranted a remake on the excellent rdr2 engine, would have looked and animated so good. Frick this shit man.
There is no way that this is it, the remake is clearly in the works.
I would say no but the fact its only coming out for PS4 means there's a chance they will release a remake on next gen consoles and are releasing this 'conversion' for the smooth brains who have showed Rockstar their dumb enough to double and even triple dip
i go to xbox
>Yuzu is gonna emulate this easily
PC wins again lmao
kekmulation is irrelevant, more people will buy the game instead of playing the inferior experience of kekmulation, seethe pcBlack person
>60FPS
>Multiplayer access
>Free
>Inferior
Whatever soothes your butthurt consoleBlack person
Why are you so against emulation, or let me rephrase it differently, why are you so against people playing the game for free?
>more people will buy the game instead
More people will also buy Fifa and other yearly sports games, your point?
I already have this game on my xbone s I bought it on discount for 5 bucks
No, I'm not.
I already have it on PS3. With all the DLC.
Absolutely ill buy this, that is, if this came out 6 years ago like I wanted. Now I fully expect a remake in the new gen engine, failing that it's a no buy. Bravo shitstar
>No PC port
Fricking huh
Oh boy, I can't wait to play a game everyone else played 13 years ago, then played the sequel to it fie years ago, except at low settings with sub-30 framerates.
>Protagonist is not cute
Pass: I'd rather buy Fate: Extella instead
I have never bought a video game in my life
I already played it at 16k 120fps on my oled
I'd like to have a physical copy of RDR1, so probably.
I'll torrent and emulate it.
I played it eight months ago on Xenia, why the frick would I do it again?
I already have the 360 version, which my SeX can play natively
Probably, if it turns out good. I've never played the original on consoles.
Would you be happy with $50 if you kept it's multiplayer?
I have the physical shit for my ps3, so no
>not on pc
>even if it'll be on pc, no multiplayer
>even if it'll be on pc, why would you buy anything from the most profitable non-console manufacturer gaming company
frick off israelitestar, I already have it on 360
I honestly couldn't get through the intro with the two hags never shutting up. Imagine putting up with a whole game that has never ending dialogue like that. No thanks!
Overall I'd say the writing is actually more mature at times then rdr2. Sometimes rdr2 strays into reddit territory, but rdr1 can feel more grounded.
Holy shit! Almost 4 minutes of blah blah blahing. Was this game written by a woman? No thanks!
Adhd zoomers, I swear
They're probably going to bump the Xbox version from $30 up to $50 and end multiplayer support since it's pretty busted
If the NSP is under 4gb I might be assed to get it.
No. Even if it's a great game technically, i'm not an "open minded" homosexual who don't mind playing a game in shitty settings.
The only rpgs i'm willing to play are FANTASY rpgs.
I pirated it on PS3 and hated it.
What's this game about? I don't really care about Rockstar games, but I want to know what makes this game so special.
it's about wienerstar ripping people off for a $5 game on switch
It's an atmospheric 3rd person shooter set in the old west. A really nice open world full of nature animals and bandits. For its time it was one of the best open world games but its aged since then. frick you
I'll buy it for $2 on the steam virtual drive.
Already played it on PS3 and didn’t enjoy it very much.
already played
depends: is the physical version gonna have the whole game + dlc or it will be a glorified download voucher, if former yes i would; if not rockstar can suck my dick while i find a ps3 copy of "the game of the year edition"
My dad loves westerns but hates video games, I'm gonna get this to try and show him. He still might hate it though.
If the game has motion controls then I'm getting it no matter what.
It's unsuitable for older dads because it has too many systems and too many fiddly "hold B and A and Z at the same time" controls.
He's 36 so he's old but not grandpa tier. It should be okay.
> 36
how old are you?
18
>He's 36
Leave now. It's not too late for you.
Correct, once it's on sale for fifteen dollars or less.
My only version of RDR is a PS3 copy I got for like 10 dollars years ago, thing is I don't really feel like plugging in my PS3 is it at least easy to emulate on steam deck?
Nah I'll just emulate it at 4k 60fps
In your dreams, Zelnick
I bet they don't include the cool map in the physical versions
Still got this
The hardcore mode is the best way to play it
I hope they include hard mode in the new versions
And it was only on the GOTY of the original
Red Dead Revolver would've been much better suited for the Switch
>much more arcadey
>less power intensive, could easily hit 60 fps
>short 3 hour game
Then charge $30 for it and it would've gotten zero complaints
>no co-op
>i.e., no point in Undead Nightmare
I won't even emulate it
I absolutely am. RDR1 was peak soul. I never even touched that piece of shit 2. I can't believe they butchered that series so much.
>Be honest, you're going to buy it.
I do not find american culture interesting.
cowboys, blm, lgbt pride, etc all disgust me
