>be Hyperdimension Neptunia
>dogshit battle system that ruins the entire experience while almost got remedied by the game's atmosphere, world building and music
>story is a parody of the console wars, humanized companies and other shit, the big bad guy is the pirate pagan god that wants to take over the world got thawed by console gods who got retired (fair, because it was a it's time where piracy and console warriorism was a thing).
>be Hyperdimension Neptunia MKII
>mid battle system and anything else but music (which got overused many fricking times)
>it's a reboot to become essentially a japanese propaganda that aged like fecal impaction, the big bads are fat gamer, wagie dev, fangirl and one of the based af characters in the series which (ignorantly) made him a hero thanks to the worst scene in the game (afterwards he got it's character assassinated for obvious reason), piracy is now a force of nature destructive force that kills anyone, it got attentions thanks to "conquest".
>be Hyperdimension Neptunia Victory
>still mid af with overused and less original music
>poorly written mess with missed potential, unlikable characters with no redeeming qualities whatsoever, even the main character.
>you can skip it and you won't miss anything because it takes place in a alternate dimension
>be Megadimension Neptunia VII
>finally improved the battle system since MKII, has a cool aesthetic and a lot of awesome soundtrack (few made by Nobuo Uematsu)
>one of the best stories/writing in the series ever, made characters likable again and (dare i say) made you care about them, has greedy journos and corpos as the big bad guys then the black Dreamcast itself, cool af gundam ninja, gijinka Dreamcast and bamco, made even Vert and Noire likable.
>it's spinoffs and remakes are either mid or atrocious
Holy shit, not even Sonic.

Chris-chan is a fan of both so they're officially on the same level.

It really did seem like Compile Heart was getting it together around the time of Neptunia VII and Fairy Fencer F but then they just fell off the wagon right after. I don't know if someone left the company, or if everyone just collectively decided that it was too hard. But it sucks.
They probably found out that trying vs not trying gave the same results so they just went for the milking route
The Mary Skelter and Death end re;Quest games are also good. The previous CEO and producer of most of their games left in 2020 so they had a rocky transitional period afterwards but this year is supposed to be the start of a new phase which might be promising considering they even got the rights for Madou Monogatari back from Sega. If nothing else they're slowing down with the endless mediocre Neptunia spinoffs.
They have a touhou game?
>Mary Skelter and Death end re;Quest
I couldn't get into MS and DERQ2, but at least I enjoyed the first DERQ a lot more than what I expected.
It's called Touhou Spell Carnival, developed by Sting. It's some weird hybrid between strategy RPG and bullet hell where you have to attack and move on the grid to avoid the bullet spam in real time.
>They have a touhou game?
They announced a Touhou game alongside a spiritual successor to Aleste/Zanac with M2.
MS2 is a lot better than the first one and you don't need to play the first to understand it. I recommend trying it sometime.
Guardian Legend remake when?
Compile doesn't own the Guardic IP anymore.
Bummer. Make a spiritual successor but call it something else then.
I kept wondering if maybe the Sony fanservice ban effected Neptunia the same way it effected Senran Kagura. But I will say the Neptunia spin offs are not bad when it comes to Tamsoft making them and even Sisters Vs Sisters which is closer to a mainline game than a spin off story wise is solid thanks to the Action Strategy RPG path they are taking really does help a lot. The new numbered Neptunia should be this year.
they want to become more than "the neptunia company" but every time they try to branch out it isn't as successful as another neptunia spinoff.
I want to have sex with Neptune
That's a lot of words.
Here's one word for you: Nepper
Hardly even know 'er.
You sampling ideas for your 300 hour video essay series on YouTube or something?
My first game in the series was Neptunia VII, it had issues but seemed to be going in the right direction and I liked it
I bought a few after that but man they were mediocre (or outright shit), really think the series needs to drop this ARPG stuff because it's terrible
Not reading all that. Just clicked because I saw Compa.
I miss when Compa was actually relevant
Bought ReBirth last week. Is early game supposed to be this hard?
The Noire fight is hard, you might need to use up your potions.
Haven't reached Noire yet. I unlocked one of the areas in Lastation and the game introduced me to infected enemies. They all hit Nep, Compa and IF like a truck.
>infected enemies
You are supposed to either kill those quickly or frick off in early game.
Buy life rings.
>buffs
Actually valuable advice in Rebirth, but not in VII.
Completely different anon here that also just hit this wall, I concur that this is good advice
I assume you mean the Black Heart fight in RB1?
Yeah, it's a known early difficulty spike - buy at least one life ring.
game gets very easy after you get mages.,vert and nep exe
Honestly Blanc is enough. She just doesn't die, especially if you further increase her defenses with the backrow effects.
>Blanc
Why would you use her if you can vert rush X3 and use mages. and nep exe after?
Because Arfoire is a b***h and will OHKO the whole party in her final form, except Blanc.
Because she is VERY cute.
Early is hard, then eventually you can pull out super moves that one shot strong enemies and get so much exp that the game is never a challenge again. Blanc is also busted, she can generally tank everything and not die, so long as the enemy isn't too high level.
>so long as the enemy isn't too high level.
I remember doing even the lv999 colosseum challenges by throwing Blanc at the enemy face and having everyone else throw exe drives.
I think also what is important to remember is that EXE can be very powerful especially if you build out up using the Rush attacks before facing the bosses of each area. It can be very OP.
The problem is the combat in the entire series is slow. I would advise pressing L1/LB throughout for every attack and every enemy attack to speed up the game. Also a second piece of advice get everyone's shares to 15% besides Arfoire for true ending in Re;Birth 1. Normal ending is just ok.
Didn't they say full production for next numbered Neptunia barely started a few months ago?
My wife.
One of my wives
>Victory
>unlikable characters with no redeeming qualities whatsoever, even the main character.
Actual fricking moron.
I would only agree with this on Nep and Compa in the 1st game. They can be very annoying together. I am glad they moved it to IF and Compa in the 2nd game and beyond.
I think you meant to say
>re:birth 1-3 are generally mediocre but the remake system can hold your attention
>Mega Neptunia VII is an overall better game but lacks the remake system and therefore is not worth playing
I bought the remakes of the first three games. What am I in for?
The same battle system based on Victory with actual improvements only in the last game.
Also a lot of reused items from Victory and mk2.
So only VII is worth it?
You can watch the anime which is a retold story mixing mk2 and victory and you'll get most of the plots of the 3 games necessary for VII.
All I want is Nep GameMaker on PC soon.
>be idea factory game
>is shit
>every. time.
Ganker you promised me a new Madou Monogatari game, well, where is it???
My dirty secret is i first listened to the dub and its now what i use.
>dub
Melissa Fahn Is my purple heart
Melissa Fahn nails smol Neptune's chilidsh dorky voice perfectly but when it comes to Perfect Heart I prefer Tanaka Rie.
Probably because it's her natural voice.
Your purple heart a shit
