Skill issue, you always check the channel of the person who made it and if they cover many videogames or media then drop it instantly because it's just FOTM shit for algorithm bait, all the good ones have an autism for that particular game that can't be fulfilled with just one video, they will probably get over a 100 hours of content just on one thing and they are pretty much the only entertainment youtube channels worth following these days besides compilations of shit you find funny

When you engage with people irl you have a level of pretense in the exchange that prevents you from laying your balls on the table. Its nice to hear someone give a personal insight or analysis to relate to recreationally. Dont have to be deep to meditate. Music doesnt always vibe.
About 13 years ago now Youtube retooled their recommendation algorithm to focus less on view count and more on watch time. They also prioritized frequent uploaders over people who uploaded more sparsely. This did two things. First, it basically murdered amateur animation as a viable channel model on youtube since frequent animation uploads were 30 seconds long while more infrequent uploads were at most 5-7 minutes. Second, it heavily incentivized video game youtubers to upload letsplays since these were easy to make, generated high watch time, and could be uploaded frequently. Later on, youtube would quietly move to derank unedited letsplay videoes from the algorithm as they began to overtake the platform.
So what did game youtubers pivot to? Well, you posted it. Since it's not raw gameplay, """reviewers""" and similar video essayists aren't deranked. Beating [Game] with [Restriction] actually occurs because of a confluence of two factors. Video essayists are mostly double dipping with streaming these days. So if you're someone who beats a game with an absurd condition, you get to have your cake and eat it too as you stream the entire attempt live and then cut that VOD up into a 90+ minute chunk that you narrate over. Win-win. If you have a Patreon you can even get your subscribers to vote on the next challenge if they're at the $5 and up tier. Aren't economic incentive curves grand?
Yeah, I saw this with those dark souls challenge videos and some botw challenge videos. I just dont care about all the ways to buff yourself 500 times. Worthless fricking garbage. No one has any purpose to look at anything imaginatively enough to make content just as long without blowing hot air. It always has to be some moronic meta commentary about how there's some antediluvian metaphor or occult tie in with the heros journey so you feel like you own a wooden penny.

Have you never taken an english class? Plot summary is low effort and gets you a high page count. Analysis is difficult and you have to really work for every paragraph.
