The secret is actually talking to people and being nice. Explaining the patterns if people need it. Otherwise, just act friendly and do your job correctly. I also don't expect to get coms. It's just nice if they do.

I only unlocked mentor to do mentor rolo. I go in as rdm or smn and clean it up while doing as much dps as I can, but I dont bother explaining much (only when asked or really needed) and otherwise I say nothing. Dont care for the crown, I want the glam and mount.
I hide my crown in shame. Only became a mentor because I've groomed multiple friends into playing the game with me and 150% xp bonus rocks

I just want access to Mentor roulette. I don't understand why the devs just don't add a "I want to do ALL the content" roulette that is separated into parts based on the difficulty. FFXIV is based on social hierarchy. You have to take advantage of any opportunity to get ahead and keep other people down. It's why trannies abuse their pronoun privileges to report people who don't comply with their ideology, or Redditors mass-report anyone who doesn't agree with their playstyle. It's a game of power and control. People just want the Mentor crown so they can look better than everyone else in Limsa while wearing bawdglam.

Side note as someone that has played off and on for years, I've absolutely noticed a downward trend in the general friendliness and helpfulness of people. I hesitate to kneejerk blame the WoWfugees, though they certainly are a factor, but the toxic positivity that has been festering for a while is starting to bear mentally ill fruits and people are responding by just not doing content with randoms as much as possible.

You are less likely to be granted positive reception if you have the mentor crown than if you didn't have it. I just played the Nier raids for the first time and why is this moronic shit in the game, like what were they thinking. It’s like if WoW released an entire one off raid tier about StarCraft. I did moderately soi face at the kino rings in the final boss though because drakengard shits on Nier
The NieR content is widely regarded as some of the worst shit in the game since OG Diadem. You can't even run it for glam because all three raids basically have the same shitty looking black leather outfits for every fricking role. The saddest part is how adamantly people defend it, because "bro you don't understand it's SUPPOSED to be bad Yoko Taro man! frickin' Yoko Taro! XD"

They're bad because they do not tie into the overall narrative structure or lore of the world in any way. Crystal Tower series did it, Dun Scaith did it, Ivalice did it, Aglaia does it, they all had something to tell and to expand upon the already established canon lore of FFXIV and its storyline. All Nier raids had was a self contained story that in no way interacted with anything else and feels 100% isolated from the rest of the game world. And the raids themselves weren't really engaging or interesting, although some were nice showpieces. It's a pretty mediocre set of alliance raids, not as bad as the Crystal Tower, but only by the virtue of not being forced on you ad nauseam.

Puppet’s bunker is fun but the tower and factory are sleep inducing especially the tower with glorified trash in a white room
Red Girl is fun, final fight is alright aesthetically but the mechanics are laughably easy.

I never mind replaying Factory because I love the music, same with Bunker but Bunker is also actually fun.
I feel that Hobbes is a great fight. feels like a crystal tower fight. I kinda wish there was a secondary objective, like an add that jumped from platform to platform. 9S is also a great fight if he didn't become untargetable 4 (four) times. Though individually the tanks and total annihilation maneuver are both solid phases. i think the carpet bombing could have been done better.
though this is also the point where the 4th fight in 24 mans became more about spectacle. its actually been that way since LotA. Archerus/Phlegethon is the flashiest fight in the instance but also the second simplest. Same rings true for Xande. same goes with Echidna, Calofisteri, Argath, Yiazmat, Compound 2P, Her Infloresence, Nald'thal and Menphina
Cloud of Darkness, Diabolos Hollow and Ultima all have (had on release at least) flashy, engaging fights. Her Infloresence falls a bit short on the engagement in exchange for more oomph. Because I'm a proud drakengard enjoyer I knew exactly what she was when she appeared, and its the closest i've been to terrified. KILL IT! KILL IT NOW!
I've not played Drakengard so the Tower flew completely over my head.

What I did when I was close to mentor status was make different opening chat macros to use in dungeons, making it clear I was there for comms but never outright asking for them, then I just used the one that gave me the highest chance of working after a little trial and error.
Was the most effective one something like "Give me comms or your mother will die in her sleep tonight"?

Ryne uses a standard Hyur model, dude. Alisaie and Gaia are the only hebes you need a separate mod for. And with Gaia it's because she's classified as a monster model.
Yea but there is no convenient way to set it up anymore. Anamnesis has issues with NPC face models and requires a seperate actor anymore and even then there is no satisfying or easy way to set it up. I fiddled around with customize+ but then I got stopped by having 0 NPC face options for glamourer so it saves between loading zones and cut scenes.
