>be me wanting to play Silent Hill 1
>sees prices
>I proceed to rip a Silent Hill 1 ISO from a ROM site
>install it on a SSD and connect it to the back of my PS2 via. HD slot
>use freemcboot to access ISO
>proceed to play game with zero issue
>save 150 bucks
If it wasn't for ROM sites, I'd give up on playing older games. It's at the point where it's just too ridiculous to justify. 150 dollars for Silent Hill 1? Really? Get out of here wit that bullshit.

Shit I've got two copies. Had no idea it went up so much.
I have 3D dot hero, Soul Silver and boktai 2. :03
>I proceed to rip a Silent Hill 1 ISO from a ROM site
>rip
You downloaded it.
Let the zoomers enjoy themselves man
same here, I was thinking about buying some of the older dragon quest games since I liked 11 a lot, looked up the prices and saw most of them went for at least 100$, sometimes 200$ just said "frick it" and emulated all the ones I wanted to try
$150 is nothing. Grow up.
yeah bro pay $150 for this apple. You aren't poor, are you?
>food analogy
>FMCB
>Popstarter
>Proceed to play game with zero issue
You could have said you burned a CD and it would have been believable.
>burn silent hill on cdr
>boot it on ps1 with tonyhax
Why not just emulate it on PC?
That said, I bought it like 2 years ago for 100$. Its the most I've ever spent on a just a disc but it was worth it since its one of my favorite of all time and so that I can have the complete collection of SH games. Now have every mainline SH game CiB aside form Origins and Shattered Memories, but I'm in no rush for those.
Emulators can still be annoying to set up, and inevitably frick up minor details
In the case of SH1, I emulated it just fine all the way back in 2007. I don't see why it would be a problem now.
>I don't see why it would be a problem now.
It's not he's just trying to justify dumping moronic amounts of money into his hobby, emulation is easy as frick these days and even outside of that you have things like flashcarts so you can use roms on legit hardware thus no "fricking up minor details"
Smoothbrains like you can now just download Retroarch on Steam, make a game folder, drop in SH1 and plug in a controller within less than an hour.
considering he can play PS2 roms on that setup it's worth it, ps2 emulation is still very flawed.
Wait, can I do the same to play Solent Hill 2 on my ps2?
Maybe? I always crash where you meet Angela in the apartment, don't know if it's OPL, the HDD or bad ISO rip.
>retro market is absolutly fricked thanks to youtube homosexuals and other shady things
>sell pretty much my entire collection of PS1, PS2, GC, DC, and so on because frick being a part of this shit and getting scammed
>now pirate my ass off
>far happier
Only an absolute idiot bothers with buying old vidya these days.
why are american versions always more expensive than pal ones? I highly doubt they're rarer
60Hz vs. 50Hz
60hz is a meme though
there's virtually no difference
Go play Sonic 17% slower, PALcuck. I'd sooner use shitty emulators like POPStarter than play slowed down games.
nah it's just a meme perpetuated by americucks because they will hold on to anything to make their third world country look better
>inb4 mohammed
lmao this is fake as frick
I actually have a megadrive with sonic and the music wasn't this slow for sure
So do I. I grew up with the Pal version and it was slow as frick compared to the NTSC version, hearing 60hz Marble Zone still feels like a panic attack as it's too fast for my brain. However unlike most I don't think it's all bad as I actually prefer the slower intro music, the more chilled out green hill and special stage, obviously marble zone, but stages ike Spring Yard are so much better at 60hz.
>t. No eyes having homosexual
do fartshite trannies really?
but theres pal versions with 60hz mode you can toggle at the start
only during the gamecube/PS2 era
and even then it was not every game
>actually using POPStarter
Playstation 1's are so cheap. Just buy one of those and use one of the many ways to play burned games.
this, but tonyhax is compatible on PS2 and getting an exploit game isn't very expensive
>check the local thrift stores
>it's just sports games and Just Dance for wii, again
>PS2 via. HD slot
imagine not owning a Vita TV and playing the objectively best version of Silent Hill 1.
What's so special about it?
least amount of graphics inaccuracy, fastest load times, most consistent frame rate.
>vita
>psp go
>not a 1001
Damn, and I thought I got ripped off paying $35 for a kinda scuffed copy in like 2012.
You deserve it for being consolegay. Consoles aren't free platforms, you should've stop consuming outdated product and start consuming new product without asking questions, smart guys from Sony know better which games you want to play.
Get off of Ganker, Jim Ryan.
Konami doesn't make money from second-hand sales anyway.
>he actually went to find the game to BUY it instead of just straight going for an emulator
kek
imagine the collection you could've had if you didn't emulate
I still regret emulating emerald, it was literally the only game I ever emulated and it's worth like 300 bucks now
Only poors collect games, if you want to invest your money there are better options. if you want to actually play them and not just protect your virginity all options should be on the table.
It's fine
>YOU'RE STEALING FROM THE DEVS
How if they don't even sell the game anymore?
It just seems like people who emulate refuse to pay resellers inflated values
>SSD
>PS2
>Using popstarter
Confirmed moron
