>Be Rocksteady
>Creates the most aesthetically pleasing Batmobile ever, far better than even the Burton one
>Hype the 3rd game of your trilogy hinting you would be able to travel throughout Gotham with your visually impressive car
>Instead of using the kino design at least the first chapters of the story mode, give us a shitty looking Tank from the very beginning
>When people complain, release a 5 dollars DLC to play with it outside of the story mode
The OG batmobile fell in the water in asylum and Batman also needed a tank-like batmobile to fight other tanks
>The OG batmobile fell in the water in asylum
Could have been recovered and fixed by the time of Knight's events.
>Batman also needed a tank-like batmobile to fight other tanks
They could easily allow you 2 or 3 chases with the old Batmobile before having it destroyed by a tank-drone, thus needing an upgrade (BatTank).
Why did he anticipate that he would be fighting large numbers of unmanned tanks? And if je was expecting that to happen then why not create bat missile launchers on the bat wing instead to take out entire armies of drone tanks from the sky?
>Batman also needed a tank-like batmobile to fight other tanks
stfu lil bro
>Batman also needed a tank-like batmobile to fight other tanks
But did we need the tanks? The tank fights were easily the worst part of the game.
We could have had some Tank battles, but for Christ's sake after we spend some time with the old Batmobile first.
Sense of progression is always good. Too bad they forgot this.
I think the worst part of the tank battles is that they wasted fucking Deathstroke on one.
Yeah, that was a crime, especially after the cleverly crafted bossfight we had in Origins.
>cleverly crafted
you mean the one where the main gimmick is mashing the counter button?
Batman also needed a tank-like batmobile to fight other tanks
The game would have been better without tanks, for more reasons than the shitty over-used Bat-tank sections. Tanks are pretty fucking useless in urban environments if your intention is something other than blowing the hell out of every building you come across. It also would have been more interesting to see Batman have to be creative with destroying the tanks instead of just raw brute force.
So, not only did we lose a cool Batmobile, we lost cool puzzle/encounter solving opportunities, and a cool boss fight, all so Rocksteady could put in their shitty fucking tanks.
the suicide squad game apparently takes place in the same universe, so both superman and the justice league exist, so why didn't he just call in superman or flash to help find and disable the fear toxin bombs instead of risking the whole city?
The bombs planted around the city would be detonated. That's why the military also didn't do shit. That's why the GCPD says "we're on our own now"
>The bombs planted around the city would be detonated
That's why you send in Superman who can find every one of them much faster than Batman and disarm them long before anyone can set them off.
bro, four criminals, three of which are just regular humans with good equipment are gonna kill him and the rest of the Justice League (besides Wonder Woman)
Flash will also live wont he? I read some spoilers about a Flashpoint event at the end, drawing time back to the Arkham Asylum's event
I don't know anything about that. I just know Wonder Woman is the only one not controlled.
I read somewhere that every single JL member is a Boss you fight and kill with the help of WW, but Flash is kept alive and, at the end of the game, he Flashpoints the shit outta back in time drawing the events back to Arkham Asylum, when Batman cures the Joker, preventing the events of Arkham City.
Maybe its bullshit doe, but some many leaks are proven correct these days I'm not doubting it.
If comic book writers or readers thought that deeply neither would exist
>The rest of the JL is probably off doing their own shit
> Bats doesn't seem like the one to ask for help if he thinks he can handle it on his own
The Batmobile in Arkham Knight will forever be the most bewildering creative decision in the history of video games. I can't fucking imagine what was going on in their heads during the multi-year development cycle where they thought "yeah, okay, this is cool and good". Just a complete and fundamental failure on every level
It was fun to drive. It was the tank stuff that was weird.
Yep
People wanted the Batmobile in Asylum and City. The problem is that Batman in Knight has such great mobility options to travel in the air compared to the first two games, that car ended up being restricting. Then they decided to focus on bat-TANK missions rather than the batmobile as a car which was another misstep. The tank parts just suck. Additionally, part of the reason why the batmobile was wanted in the Asylum and City was because in those games you are really surrounded by enemies on all sides. The batmobile would have offered protection psychologically for the player, and that feeling was just not needed in Knight where you feel like a god the whole time you are playing.
There were so many tank moments, it drove me insane.
it would have legit been a better game if they had just had the batmobile be a car with some tricks and nothing more.
hell that would have allowed them to allow for DLC swap cars, but instead that turned out to be impossible because of the tank gameplay.
ugh, 95% of that game felt like tank shit.
100% agree. Knight was my biggest disappointment in gaming besides TPP.
>besides TPP
Filtered.
>The batmobile would have offered protection psychologically for the player,
Nah. Catwomans pussy could have done a better job at that than the batmobile.
I don't know what's going on in the mind of casuals. It's the best batmobile in any video game by far, and grappling around town looks extremely gay for a dude that can take dozens of criminals in a fist fight.
Zooming around in the car is fun. The fucking laser tank battles and crawling up buildings in it like a spider is not fun. They wasted an inordinate amount of time on car mechanics and race tracks that could have gone into making more predator rooms and interior locations.
Lol if you think the batmobile decision is weird, then what do you think of Gotham knights and suicide squad? Cocksteady has intentionally chosen to kill itself and that level of stupidity borders insanity.
That's why I don't get remake haters in this board.
Better for these companies to keep remaking their own games with better graphics and new engines than trying to create new ones that are absolutely souless and uncreative.
Rocksteady should just remake Asylum and City in the likes of Knight, maybe even get Montreal to remake Origins too.
>Rocksteady should just remake Asylum and City in the likes of Knight, maybe even get Montreal to remake Origins too.
That's just retarded anon. Those games aren't even old enough or outdated to warrant a remake. That's an outright waste of resource.
Waste of resource is creating games such as Suicide Squad Kill the Justice League.
I bet you and I would have a lot more fun playing a graphic upgraded AA, AC or AO than that shit they are releasing next year.
Why? When I could replay the original games and still enjoy them? The worst part of remasters is that they stop selling the originals and force you buy the same game for a higher price. I think it is right to shun remasters. What rocksteady should do is make better new games.
>What rocksteady should do is make better new games.
They most likely wont, and you know it.
At least with remakes is that the chance of making mistakes is lower. They just need to update the graphics, some gameplay and perhaps one or 2 voice actors.
the graphics don't need updating
>perhaps one or 2 voice actors.
Kevin Conroy and Arleen Sorkin are fuckin dead and you want to update voice actors, fuck off
>the graphics don't need updating
They could be remade to be more like Knight's, which is 10x better looking than the old games.
>Kevin Conroy and Arleen Sorkin
I'm obviously not talking about them, but Gordon, Barbara and Scarecrow all have different voice actors throughout the games. They should hire their VAs from Knight to repriese their roles in an eventual Asylum and City remake.
Harley also has a different VA going from Asylum to City and beyond, and you can bet your ass if they're doing "voice actor updates" they'll be shoehorning Tara Strong's horrific rendition into Asylum over Sorkin.
Sorkin is a special case.
It's basically the Tumblr + Bat Tank from Dark Knight Returns.
OP pic looks like hot wheels toy
AK Batmobile looks like a machine a crazy billionare could build if he had style
the tank and the story with robin ruined the whole game
I think the stupidest thing about this was at the end when it's destroyed and you actually feel relieved that it's gone, but then they just drop a super saiyan one down for you
>most aesthetically pleasing
it looks like a fisher price toy
I like Forever's Batmobile but its too flamboyant.
Asylum's one is more compact, yet also keeping the Bat aesthetics.
It's OK to be afraid.
>Creates the most aesthetically pleasing Batmobile ever, far better than even the Burton one
lol no
battanks always sucked though
>battanks always sucked though
Naw. They're great when they actually look like bats.
>Creates the most aesthetically pleasing Batmobile ever
Wrong!
It's basically a second character you play the game as. Look at the splash screen: Batman sharing equal space with the Batmobile, like it's a duo protag game. They should have just gone fully crazy and given it a computer personality.
Even with the Batmobile being annoying this game really is just peak BamHam. Incredible movement (the gliding feels incredible), the best combat and most varied combat the series ever had and visuals and an art direction that haven't been matched by a lot of games even to this day. If they didn't fuck up the boss fights it would have been a 10/10 even with the dumb main story.
Indeed in technical terms, the game is excelent, but they do had some poor decisions about the game's design.
This scene especially should have been a boss fight, it was like they cut one here.
It took me a couple years to actually like this game. You really gotta force it.
