If they did, you WOULD have gotten a DP remake done by Game Freak, not a port done by whos and soul incarnate done by Game Freak (because that costs MORE money than making just one game and TPC are tight-fisted frickwits).
You need to realise Game Freak do what they do because they don't give a frick about you as a person, just you as a concept (either a frickwit child who'll buy it blindly or a frickwit adult who'll buy it anyway). If you're not one of these two archetypes, Game Freak don't want anything to do with you. You're too much hassle for the return by then.

I think PLA just needed to work on their environments more, specifically integrating pokemon in the environments like S&V kinda did here and there.
Like having birds, squirrels and insects on trees, etc.
Having pokemon walk around aimlessly like it's some MMO just doesn't work when the game looks like that.
I think they wanted to do it with both games, but because they're incompetent they couldn't without frying the switch.
And people blame the switch itself, but BotW works fine, Astral Chain worked fine, it runs Witcher 3 too on very low settings and it's more or less fine.
It's not really the Switch's fault.
I do think, maybe Nintendo was supposed to ship a Switch2.0 a couple years ago and didn't and that's why they came out like this, but that's just speculation.
