I like the remake games, even though they pale in comparison to the originals, and couldn't give two shits about anything from the original timeline after 4, because they all change shit up so much with each installment, none of them feel like Resident Evil. There comes a point when you've got to pick a lane, and stick with it.

Nah, there was a brief era of redemption with Revelations 1/2/RE7/RE2make when weighed against the likes of 0/4/5/6. That doesn't completely hold, the series did find out when it went too far and walked some of it back.
The whole "CAPGOD IS BACK" delusion completely shattered once those internal documents leaked and it proved they straight up knew RE3Make was a butchered piece of shit but decided to release it anyway and hoped the bundled multiplayer mode would help soften the blow

I would entirely forgive nucapcom if they went full Darkest Africa for the re5make. Pitch-black mobs as every single non-tricell human enemy, full-on voodoo theming and ritual violence, explicit cannibalism, the whole nine yards. And a surprise twist that most of them weren't actually infected with anything

remake 2 was alright but i still prefer the original. maybe this is just nostalgia talking though but i really liked the intertwined zapping system that even takes into account the characters costume on the 2nd playthrough when you play as the other character. >3 remake

ada's voice alone irritates me. the original didn't sound like a text to speech program, even ai sounds better but half of this is the fault of the voice director
