There are good and bad ones on every medium. Trust me I've read some real garbage books.
sure, there are bad books, but the literary experience available from novels compared to VNs tops out at a 10, whereas the experienced offered by VNs tops out at a 4 or 5
VN are simply more atmospheric.
Good Books would be 100x better if they have VN-tier illustrations and moody music.

You can do both and the better VN authors have done it. Now western YA fiction writers have never read a serious book and it shows. VN writers might at least surface reference high-tier stuff that you'd go on and read afterwards.

I'll give you that as a base point, translations will never be the original work. VNs just aren't great in general. I read Totono and Marco completely in Japanese, they don't become some groundbreaking literary thing, they're just weebslop.
