On 2fort you can get from the lake to the bridge, from the bridge to the sniper nest, from the ground floor to spawn, and get to a lot of secret hiding places.
On hightower you can get from the ground level next to a spawn up to the middle platform, can get from the bottom of the tower to the middle of the tower, can quickly get from the middle platform up to a spawn without wasting time on the crates, can jump from a spawn's lower level to the top of the tower, and launch yourself through the little window in one jump. As well as skipping though a lot of other time wasting climbing maneuvers which generally increases your speed of movement throughout the map.
I don't understand how people can tolerate playing scout on 24 man, let alone 32 man servers. Far too fragile and just dies to like 1-2 rockets, which are constantly spammed by a dozen players. Still better than playing spy though.
>gets deleted easily by a single hit >gets raped by natascha >if we're talking default servers, crits are unfairly bad in comparison to a crit rocket or whatever >gets dabbed on by sentries which he can't do anything about
terrible on 24+ servers when you can just be a soldier or something and do better with half the skill.
He can dominate on certain KOTH and PLR maps, unless some dick runs minisentry. For Payload and 5CP you just need Bonk to get to the backlines and pick lone targets and know where health packs are. The mode I feel Scout is worst on is CTF which is ironic given how good Scout was on CTF in TFC.
Scout can be really good on CTF as a mode, the problem is most CTF maps are fricking terrible for playing the objective because they're super biased for the defenders.
They make for decent TDM maps for comfy do-nothing hours, but if your goal is to complete objectives, CTF is going to be like pulling teeth.
Everyone always says this but I never get these matches where the other team is just turtling so hard that capping the intel isn't anywhere near a possibility
anon, let's be realistic, trying to bash your way through 2fort to cap the intel does happen, but it doesn't happen because the scout contributed anything to breaking in, at best he provided Bonk to absorb sentry fire and then ran with the intel itself. But trying to coordinate a CTF push in a pub is like herding cats, and the moment you make any amount of progress the enemy team clamps down so hard that you're often not getting a second chance unless you managed to make it basically out of their base, at which point getting it to your base is merely a formality.
I guess you're right for the most part if I were on a server with at least two engies actually playing defense properly even if I did get the intel by sneaking past them their entire team is just going to stop me because those sentries are going to occupy any push that would've been a distraction for you to run out with

some exist, but you'll need to explore the realm of custom maps. It's actually not too hard to make a map that makes defending difficult, in theory >long transit from ammo sources and choke points >few true choke points, allow alternate routes >good health/ammo spawns for attackers to use while in enemy base >poor sentry coverage and/or good vantage points to outrange sentries
Obviously easier said than done but some madmen have attempted to do so over the years with varying levels of success; most just don't bother since it's a mode played almost exclusively by people who just wanna TDM, and that's perfectly fine.
the problem isn't the maps, it's that players are moronic
they don't even TRY to complete the objective, and if they do they don't even TRY to coordinate pushes (usually all you need in a pub is a heavy/med combo with another class like pyro to guard them).
32 man is too hectic for any class other than Soldier and Demo to really shine, but Scout on 12v12s can do tons of work. Plenty of half-dead morons running straight towards health packs to shoot in the back.
32 player servers are always clusterfricks and never too fun to actually play on outside alternative gamemodes like zombie fortress or tf2ware(if either of those still exist). That being said scout can easily put in work in a 24 person server, you just need to get better at dodging and flanking.

Literally me

skill issue
Mess up your aim by stopping mid strafe then delete you with the direct hit
isn't the soda popper literally the exact same gun but better? i honestly don't remember
>no movement benefit
>no knockback
>less damage
FaN is the best. I use it 90% of the time for scout. Easy to kill half the enemy team if you have good movement. I pair it with the milk
>what is m2
>usually a good thing
>higher dps than fan
let me guess, you dont even have 10 hours on scout
dps is a meme, you want to get in with two blasts and get out.
which the popper does perfectly fine to everyone but a heavy or overhealed mid health class, which the fan also struggles with
>oh no a weapon has a counter
whats your point exactly?
>movement benefit
FaN is a movement disability, you can't shoot while jumping anymore.
FaN jump lets you reach places you can't even with an Atomizer and Winger combined.
such as

Those are the only two maps I play
They should have given Soda Popper the minicrits from behind instead of making the Back Scatter.
No I like losing most of my health in a two shot clip that isn't even close to me

Thanks troonytopia
Based, too bad I called uncledane a Black person and got banned from troonytopia.
why were you in troonytopia in the first place, double Black person?
shounic server was full
they're pretty good servers all things considered
unless you really, REALLY want to call that pyro a Black person for melting you in seconds
unclehomosexual won't even let us call people homosexuals on his server. It's not worth the trouble of fighting for a spot.
Is calling someone a homosexual necessary for you to enjoy the game?
sometimes it really is

t. bad. Scout is one of the best classes in 24 man. Mobile and deadly.
IF you can aim

terrible on 24+ servers when you can just be a soldier or something and do better with half the skill.
soldier is not fun to play
All depends on the gamemode, you are just silly if you are playing scout on Payload, but he thrives in CTF and some CP maps, KOTH too.
ctf sucks
5cp sucks for casual play
koth isn't popular
rip arena my favorite mode
He can dominate on certain KOTH and PLR maps, unless some dick runs minisentry. For Payload and 5CP you just need Bonk to get to the backlines and pick lone targets and know where health packs are. The mode I feel Scout is worst on is CTF which is ironic given how good Scout was on CTF in TFC.

Personally, I prefer the Shortstop. Idk why, I'm just better with it than either the Scattergun or the FaN. I have 1k kills with my stranger version.
Post based weapons
>play tf2 for first time in about 10 years
>i'm terrible
What's the best easymode class/loadout?
soldier stock, stock, escape plan or
medic crossbow, stock/quick fix, ubersaw
The one you used to main because it's your comfort character and "relearning" TF2 isn't a thing it's just like riding a bike
my favorite character in tf2 used to be pyro but that was before people grew brains and wm1 worked
W+m1 still fricking works, just don't be a moron that goes face to face with a pocketed heavy
Pyro's even more braindead now than he's ever been you don't even have to time m2 to reflect something

>every server is full of sniper bots aiming at the sky only a week after valve's update
epic
b-b-but the guy running the bot quit!
>overpowered
nah
>most fun
for sure
My favorite weapon in the game. It's just fun to jump around like a spastic and blast heavies into the next map.
how did valve do it
how did they make the world's best game
9 years in development
it was worth the weight
honestly the voice work just pushes it over the edge. Hard to imagine TF2 without three menus of voice commands and quality voice actors
>play pryo
>everyone throws a tantrum
Works like a charm.
More like use the flog or scorch shot. Everything else is meme tier
homie how is force a nature scout real just dont walk past the death trap corner homie
one of scout's fun weapons, too bad everything else that scout has is nerfed, reworked, or bad now
Was it ever good?

the most overpowered weapon was
Me with pre nerfs baby face blaster + guillotine + sandman
i miss the sandman combo
you could take away the stun, i can understand that but completely removing the combo? why the frick did they do that
The cleaver was the problem, actually. Stun whining was just a convenient way for Soundsmith to get everything that counters market gardeners nerfed.
I wouldn't mind pyros at ALL if there wasn't aim punch. just make it make your screen super red like in doom, don't jiggle my fricking aim
