its just shit bro. you don't have to over think it with the amazon shit. it is literal trash
>Best current mmo on the market
>it's just shit
I don't get it, this sounds like it checks out to me.
>Character assassinated because bezos
My man, it was the fricking abysmal launch state that assassinated it, not it's association with bezos. Itemizaton was a meme, playerbase was a meme, pvp was a meme, it was a fricking mess. I've heard they've improved it a lot since then, but you can't blame it's reception on anything other than the game itself.
>best mmo on the market
1. meaningless statement, all mmo's are bad and have never been good.
2. the only thing that gets people to play mmo's is if other people play it, no one is playing it, thus it's le dead.
>Amazon shill thread
I hope you receive a Janny's wage
This game got the best start out of basically any MMO ever by having half of twitch playing it on release (totally organically btw dude trust me) and it still died.
thats modern gaming for you. All hype and shills. Games aren't games. but moneymakers to these publishers. New World was some of the most soulless shit I have ever played.
It's almost like the game has essentially zero worthwhile end game content.
Sell me on it. The only MMO I've ever played besides free Runescape as a kid and am still playing is FFXIV.
I played on launch and was good with money and quickly became one of the wealthiest people on the server.
Overnight my wealth was made irrelevant because of item duping.
I quit that day and have never played again.
yeah you're full of shit. the cutout for being considered wealthy is 5 million, no item dupes have made this amount of coin irrelevant ever.
They should have stuck with the craft/build/survival gameplay they had during the alpha, they fricked it up when they turned it into a generic WoW clone last minute.
Instead you wanted a rust clone with worse building mechanics?
rust has more players than new world, so yes
Yes, it promised something novel within the MMO space with their 2k player sandbox servers, player driven factions, towns and sieges. Anything but a generic fricking WoW clone, it's the worst thing that could have happened.
why do zoomers call every mmo released after 2006 a wow clone? have they even played wow in the first place or do they consider it old school?
Anon it has faction-based PvP and Holy Trinity dungeons, it feels pretty similar to a wow clone
Premade towns and hubs full of fetch quests, instanced content like dungeons and battlegrounds. All direct suggestions from the drooling hordes of WoW addicts that gave their feedback during the alpha. They did a 360 on their design philosophy and aimed to please these morons instead, now the game is trash.
i can't think of any other MMO with a story so nonexistent you don't even get cutscenes.
Sitting at 95 hours and I can safely say this is the MMO the market has been waiting for. This is the best thing released in the past 10 years. The polish the gameplay the passion. It is clear it has a large team of avid MMO players behind it.
>The only endgame is speed running free market corporate capitalism
>Economy immediately fails, has to be saved by the devs with funbux and roll backs twice
>Continues to fail because of open corruption
>Game fails
>SVB fails
Pottery.
Look at what they did to lostark, look at what they are doing to all other asiatic MMOs they poached. At this point it's not incompetence, it's malevolence. Amazon wants a cut from the RMT pie, so none of the MMOs they publish will ever have a stable economy, not even their very own.
by the way throne&liberty is tab-target and apparently plays worse than ancient stuff like lineage
DoA, it's going to be a hilarious dumpsterfire
is this any good for returning players? I never hit the level cap
It's easier to level now and they're reworking the story quests but so far they have only fixed the lvl 1 to 25 experience I think. Just wait for either the seasons update next month or once they finished reworking the entire 1 to 60 story probably next year
well shit looks like I'm waiting, pretty sure I got to the mid 30s
Nah the game kind of sucks. They neutered the combat before the game even came out and the more you played the worse everything got. Factions got completely lopsided almost immediately because they didn't designated auto-flag PvP servers and all conflicts devolve into zerg vs zerg. Crafting was a complete slog just because of how much shit you needed and really served no purpose. They neutered the gameplay before the game even came out. There were also a myriad of strange bugs like using hypertext links to generate infinite gold or post dick pics in global chat and toggle invincibility.
>make full loot PvP MMORPG
>remove full loot PvP
>every system falls apart (economy, gathering, crafting)
>don't add enough PvE content to make up for it
Just rerelease it with PvP.
PvP based mmos are only fun if you either cheating or in the top end guild. I can guarantee you that most people won't find them fun. Just like eve
Most people are dumb sacks of shit, catering to the masses has never resulted in anything good. Go niche or go home.
You are saying this on Ganker that was catering to the masses that weren't to able to deal with slow-ass bbs forums.
I'm talking about video games and so should you
the endgame for pve is beyond a toxic timewasting grind and devs still have way too many items that are not working or have wrong skills.
sucks since i really liked the game, found the gold dupe with anons back at launch and made 3k selling it all. crazy just needing one person to dc mid trade duped it all
nah i played it
shit sucks
I liked the time I put into it. Never got to max level though because solo grinding got too uhh....grindy. I always thought it was a nice touch they gave an in-universe explanation for respawning enemies
I was playing it a while back. I like it.
