They're really not. The only good parts are the openings. The pacing is terrible, the humor always falls flat, the fights are forgettable and boring, the characters are dull and one-note. The entire slow discovery of the fact their country is a giant alchemy circle is so obvious yet every detail is uncovered like the main characters already know. The ending rears its ugly head and it turns out none of it matters because it's all undone in 5 minutes and finally sacrificing alchemy? a skill we barely saw used in any interesting way beyond "I can move dirt" is the equivalent exchange for limbs and a body? No lol.

Both are fantastic animes, especially Brotherhood (minus the first 15 or so episodes of Brotherhood which kinda suck). You are soulless if you think otherwise.
Your shit taste is genetic it seems. Sorry to hear, FMAB is awful. You can't even name anything redeeming about it. Here's I'll do it for you: Some of the OPs are alright.
2003 is better than Brotherhood and anyone that thinks differently is some shonen sperge that thinks hot garbage like Naruto and Bleach are not a complete embarrassment to humanity
>ending that shows that people don’t really change and are doomed to make the same mistakes while literally saying that there’s no happy end and life goes on
vs >punch god in the face and then everyone gets happily ever aftered and has babies
moronic 13 year old monogoloid
>2003 is better than Brotherhood
Because 2003 had soul and Brotherhood was a dry retelling of the manga.
The Manga was better written yes but it lost its soul in adaption.
>O' MY TURNING MYSELF INTO A PHILOSOPHER'S STONE >pulls it off twice, the second time being in a pathetically casual way against Pride, has absolutely no consequences despite pretending there are
lmao
fricking zero stakes
Started rewatching the original after so many years and my god the pacing is awful and some of the scenes are downright fricking stupid, there is no way anyone would ever say this is better than brotherhood unless they are blinded by nostalgia.
how does the manga compare?
>The ending alone was a huge ass pull where there was zero consequences to anything that happened
assuming it's the same as brotherhood since I haven't read it? the brothers complete their journey, with one giving up alchemy to make it come true? are you one of those morons who thinks a story is only good if someone dies at the end?
>You’re saying 2003 has bad pacing when the first half of brotherhood is rushed
again, I'm asking about the manga to compare but if we're cutting out shit like the bandit stealing stuff just to drum up drama then by all means rush the frick out of it. the relevant story points got enough time imo.
2003 has like 3 filler episodes in the beginning and then really takes off the moment it starts doing its own thing
No but you’re obviously one of those morons that think an ending is good if it’s the same cliched saccharine shit that ends like a fairy tale for little girls
>ending is good if it’s the same cliched saccharine shit that ends like a fairy tale for little girls
what does this even mean? what else is supposed to happen at the end of a story? you defeat the villian and try to make everything stable again. misery porn does not make something automatically good and pretending you're not a child for thinking that is pathetic.
>have the concept of Rejection with Al having his soul reject his fake body >couldn't be bothered to do the same thing with everyone who has Automail which is the eventual reality for a borderline transplant >not even a one-off mention that they need to take medication
You’re too stupid to realize why you don’t even like it. The souls from our world are the energy for transmutation in Ed’s word. When he used transmutation to bring Al back his body wound up on the other side of the gate. They said they don’t know why but guess it was a trade off for everything he had been through, which is the same fricking thing brotherhood did when Al traded his ability to transmute to the Truth, except way more subtle and spelt out
I thought sloth and wrath in 03 were kinda lazy. I liked the idea of them having complexes about being "less than" human than being asses with god complexes, though.
Hohenheim being the philosopher's stone is also a rawer idea than just body surfing.
Sloth was trying to kill the brothers because the irony of her situation was she loved them like her real sons, which is why she loved Wrath as he were a substitute for them. Sloth means apathy, not lazy, and her sin was wanting to feel nothing for the Elrichs. Wrath attached himself to Sloth because she was a substitute for Naomi, someone he was angry at because he felt she abandoned him at the gate. They were much better than their brotherhood/manga counterparts because they reflected the main characters and worked as a foil which ironically made them more human. 03 even hints at the homunculi actually being the people that were meant to be brought back and represented their respective main cast counterparts instead of just being the souls of humans that had those traits because reasons.
This.
Sloth’s relationship with Wrath also reflected Naomi’s relationship with Ed and Al. It did more to make the homunculi more sympathetic because they were going through the same thing as the main characters
Brotherhood felt too much like fricking Naruto instead of the much more grounded approach 2003 went for, so I like that version a lot better.
Not to mention the Homunculi were also a lot more developed and likable in the original series, as well as Dante the main villain.
Fmab has some of the best political writing in modern anime, better than logh and some gundams. If you take out Edward’s involvement, it’s barely a shonen show
who thought it was a good idea to make an adaptation of an unfinished manga twice? why did the mangaka even accepted the deal? she fricking rushed the story due to this
>A glob o' homo(nculus) tricks a bunch of political elites into waging endless wars of expansion in a bid to perform a human sacrifice ritual to keep themselves in power and replace their nation with an army of mindless zombies.
This plot is too unbelievable.
>a little ball of literal pure evil is everything wrong in the world and everyone around the world from different cultures can band together to defeat it because yay humanity!
Okay moron
>Hellsing (2001)
Cool as frick aesthetic and atmosphere but needed another 13 episodes to flesh things out and a bigger budget. That being said I'm not the kind of person who shits on an anime series just because it's not "muh faithful series". We need more anime adaptations willing to branch out from the source material and do their own thing. I think Beastars is a good case for this because everyone knows the ending was trainwreck.
broke : he did a mean to his daughteru and was a crazy man
woke : he did nothing wrong and was a man trying to survive
bespoke : in a nation designed to throw away humanity for alchemy purposes he is working as intended by design
I wish fma and fmab were good.
It's your depressed mental state on this one, anon.

It's so bad.
Cringe
>fmab is short for frick my ass, brother
Gay.
Have i got news for you then
It's a real shame, the premise was really good but falls apart towards the end, same thing in the manga.
It just fails to deliver on its potential at every turn. It's a shame.
Both are fantastic animes, especially Brotherhood (minus the first 15 or so episodes of Brotherhood which kinda suck). You are soulless if you think otherwise.
>my favorite anime? obviously the highest rated on on MAL, I saw it on adult swim!
I don't even know what MAL is and I am not an Amerimutt so I don't have nor watch Adult Swim.
Try again moron.
Your shit taste is genetic it seems. Sorry to hear, FMAB is awful. You can't even name anything redeeming about it. Here's I'll do it for you: Some of the OPs are alright.
What was your favorite part about Mecha-Archer?
One bad thing in something good doesn’t make something worse than something that is shit
I don't remember anything about fma 2003 and dropped it near the end about 14 years ago. no desire to watch it again.
I wish their endings were good. Didn’t like the major parts of either (alternate real world in 03 and Father in FMAB). Would unironically be 10/10s
Also FMA has one of the greatest arcs of any anime with the siege on lior
The Rpgs on PS2
Don't
Forget
Bootii
Which PS2 game was the good one again?
Who's 3oot? Some old tripgay?
ed overcoming truth was kino
there, i said it
October 11th 2003?
Who the frick puts the year before the date, especially as two digits, moron
FMA goes to shit once Wrath gets sidelined for Father
2003 is better than Brotherhood and anyone that thinks differently is some shonen sperge that thinks hot garbage like Naruto and Bleach are not a complete embarrassment to humanity
Dumb contarian
First half was better but the ending sucks

the ending was dumb but in a fun way, they really tried to have fun with it, especially the movie
>2003 is better than Brotherhood
Because 2003 had soul and Brotherhood was a dry retelling of the manga.
The Manga was better written yes but it lost its soul in adaption.
This
Helps that the director of the original series hates israelites and muttland with a passion.
I only played Broken Angel back in the day. I remember liking it, but it's probably not very special.
>O' MY TURNING MYSELF INTO A PHILOSOPHER'S STONE
>pulls it off twice, the second time being in a pathetically casual way against Pride, has absolutely no consequences despite pretending there are
lmao
fricking zero stakes
>written by a woman
>stakes
gotouge did it
Started rewatching the original after so many years and my god the pacing is awful and some of the scenes are downright fricking stupid, there is no way anyone would ever say this is better than brotherhood unless they are blinded by nostalgia.
how does the manga compare?
dumb with bad pacing + soul > dry retelling of manga
>my stupid nostalgia > adaption of a good story
grow up
How was the manga a good story? The ending alone was a huge ass pull where there was zero consequences to anything that happened
>The ending alone was a huge ass pull where there was zero consequences to anything that happened

lol i remember not liking the 2003 version because it ends with Ed going to Britain for some reason
You’re too stupid to realize why you don’t even like it. The souls from our world are the energy for transmutation in Ed’s word. When he used transmutation to bring Al back his body wound up on the other side of the gate. True but the humor is abysmal.

Cool it with antisemitism, bro
How do we feel about Hellsing (2001) vs Hellsing Ultimate?
yasushi ishii is a god and should have been brought back to do the ost of ultimate
>Hellsing (2001)

Greed is based
King Bradley/Wrath steals the show
Al > Ed
Homunculus/Father is a garbage character
He did nothing wrong. Need to crack some eggs to make an omelette
broke : he did a mean to his daughteru and was a crazy man
woke : he did nothing wrong and was a man trying to survive
bespoke : in a nation designed to throw away humanity for alchemy purposes he is working as intended by design
