Fire Emblem is basically the only series I'd consider "old good new bad" to be 100% true. Awakening is when it turned into awful 3d anime dating sim slop. Shadows of Valentia remake was sick though.
>Year of our Lord Jesus Christ, hallowed be thy name, 2024 >Ganker posters are still trying to convince themselves that FE somehow wasn't anime >And they still haven't played 6, 7 or 8, despite talking about "The good old days"
Here's a funny trivia point- Japanese fans always find it weird when Westerners wring their hands about Awakening and 3H "streamlining" the series... because that's exactly what 6 did.
The GBA games literally, and intentionally started by essentially remaking the first game and moving away from all the complexity that 5 introduced. It was also the only one where the MC has a harem of waifu options that nobody else is able to romance and who have zero paired endings outside him. The streamlining continued with 8 which doesn't even have promoted enemies until the very end, 9 which was the easiest game in the entire franchise before 3H, and finally 10 which threw out all challenge and let you save mid-combat.
You should have listened to me instead of those morons. These are the best games:
Fire Emblem Awakening
Persona 3 Reloaded
Persona 4 Golden
Persona 5 Royal
Xenoblade Chronicles 2
Fire Emblem Three Houses
Ar Tonelico
Riviera The Promised Land
Trails of Cold Steel
Arigatou senpai. But I have doubts about reloaded. I still prefer FES.
Awakening is a good baby's first fire emblem, but if you play one that actually expects anything of you you'll see why people meme on it.
Still fun to play, but you basically can't frick up and if for whatever reason you decide to actually do side content or skirmish maps you'll be ungodly overpowered even on hard.
There isn't really any tactics when you can solo every map with the avatar on enemy phase.
Every map being route the enemy or kill the captain doesn't help either. You'd think at some point they'd have spiced it up with a seize map or something, but nope everything but killing the enemy is just a bonus.
Kind of sad really, it's not like there weren't a dozen other games worth of ideas for them to pull from, but oh well. Waifus made it sell anyways and that's what really matters.
>Awakening is a good baby's first fire emblem
I have played (dropped many) everything from gba to ds. Now playing 3ds ones. I'm not even joking when I say awakening is the best one so far.

Awakening leaves a decent first impression but completely falls apart if you analyze it even remotely. I still enjoyed my time with it, but my opinion on it got lower the more I played.

>anime dating sim slop
Yes I'm persona fan and I love it this way. Frick you Oldman.
Persona is the same trash so yea it's understandable you'd like both. They're both garbage weeb franchises for those with no taste now basically
Weeb website.
>That second half is fricking ROUGH
I can already tell it's better than old shit by mile.
>Shadows of Valentia
Let me finish awakening first. I'm looking forward to it btw.
It felt repetitive yeah.
I hope my potato pc can handle those switch games.
>SoV was sick
so wide open maps and romance without an avatar got it
Unironic FPBP
It’s better to die with dignity and honor
>Awakening is when it turned into awful 3d anime dating sim slop
That was Fire Emblem 4 really.
>Year of our Lord Jesus Christ, hallowed be thy name, 2024

No one likes Kaga's stupid shit when he gets to do whatever he wants, don't kid yourself.
Classicgays forever losing their marbles at Awakening will never stop being funny.
There are 45 fire emblem games and anyone who says that they aren't all exactly identical is too much of a weeb to have any hope for the future
awakening+fates+3h+engage is peak FE
you should be playing those
then do the gamecube/wii ones, then the GBA ones, then the snes/nes ones
Not even awakening babies call it the best in the series anymore
That second half is fricking ROUGH
>Advance wars does an EVERYONE IS HERE last attempt
>Followed by the dark and gritty reimagining
Flops
>Fire Emblem does the EVERYONE IS HERE last attempt
>Followed by the dark and gritty reimagining
Revitalizes the series
We need time dilated children waifuhomosexualry in Advance Wars, you may not like it but that's what peak strategy looks like.
Seconding this.

You are moronic
Both of you gay. I feel sorry for you anon..
>I have played (dropped many) everything from gba to ds
Please don't agree with my opinions, have a nice day.
Unicorn Overlord is actually pretty good!
>Released in Japan 12 years ago
Joke's on them, Awakening is old Fire Emblem now.

Xenoblade Chronicles 2

Literally every single one of those games is terrible, holy shit you have awful taste. This is the weeb equivalent of liking capeshit and star wars
All garbage you listed
Here’s a better one
You two are the ones with garbage taste here
Pretty solid list, good taste for the most part.

Awakening was always the best starting point, that's why it was so popular
Series should’ve ended here
I'm playing echoes cause I wanna try them all in release order!
should play both new and old cause both are good
Genealogy based
Engage based
>Fr.
And like that I know you have zero taste. Oh well. Enjoy Lunatic+ Chrom and Robin simulator.
westoids have shit taste, what else is new
It really is the high water mark for the series. Nothing before or after felt anywhere near as complete, or as good.
>>Best game in the series
>>No one tells me
Because that would be a goddamn lie.
Awakening leaves a decent first impression but completely falls apart if you analyze it even remotely. I still enjoyed my time with it, but my opinion on it got lower the more I played.
Based op. Don't believe those homosexuals who tell you to play the pic related first. Awakening is the best entry point.
