It’s not even famously hard. NES GnG is famously hard. You just frickin suck at the game. I beat this game two loops true ending as an 11 year old in ‘93. You have no excuse
And neither have you from the looks of it. Come back to me after you actually play the game instead of crying about how difficult it is. I was no-continue clearing this game before you were born, zoomie

Is there anything in the world that you don't hate? Name one thing please
It's not infinite continues if you have to find collectibles that put you at risk of dying. That's not a worthwhile tradeoff and no way comparable to just having infinite continues. Please don't say stupid things on message boards.

I suck at video games and I managed to consistently collect enough to keep me afloat. Try playing the game sometime.
Yeah I've done it, it's fine once you know what you're doing. The dagger is overpowered, so you can use that a lot. Every charge-up ability is overpowered, even the one that doesn't hurt enemies (because it still makes you invincible), so you can use those a lot if you need to. You get lives and continues. It's not too bad.
Certain jumps in the towers-and-lava stage are very tricky, but once you memorize how to do each one you should be fine every time. If you play on the higher difficulty setting, you might have trouble with some unpleasantly timed obstacles in the "biological" stage's autoscrolling section, but it's doable. Red arremers are always dangerous of course, but once you find your preferred way of fighting them you can just reuse that every time. The timer in the stage is a big problem, but oh well, just hurry.
Memorize everything and retry when you fail and you'll eventually get it.
The bracelet is such a garbage weapon though. It should be at least twice as strong as it is. Its the least the game could have done for forcing you to go through the game twice and on top of that having it required that you need to use only that weapon in order to beat the final 3 bosses.
I have, but beating the last level with the bracelet is really rough. Most of my playtime with save state practicing that stage over and over. Final boss is a joke
Practice is forbidden. You either pick up a game and 1 credit clear it on the first try, or the act is impossible and the game has artificial difficulty.
>playing music is the same thing as playing a video game
Everyone always comes up with the stupid analogies that don't hold up. No wonder you think savestates aren't a cheat if you don't see what's stupid about your comparison.
Nah man you're just a full on moron if you think save states aren't a valid way to practice a difficult section for a full run. You must think the best method for learning a song is to repeatedly start it from the very beginning.
I'm pretty sure I did (on original hardware), but it may have been an hallucination. Funny how the game has to be done twice in order to get the key. But I tried playing it recently and it seemed I have retained no skills because I was struggling to get to level 2.
It's easy enough to grab enough money to effectively have unlimited lives, right up until I get my ass handed to me by the devils at the start of the first castle stage.
Yeah it just took me quite a bit and I did actually train on how to beat a couple of the gargoyles in the late level with a save state. However I did complete the game in one playthrough without resorting to using save states. Hope that didn't confuse you.
Yes, because I've only ever played it on my SNES. I still love that game so much. But this game and Super Adventure Island both feel very lonely. Actually, so does Maui Mallard, it's weird.
I haven't, though I think I cleared the first loop once? Been meaning to finish it, but honestly that raft level is just so dull. Now you're going to say I'm just making excuses? Tough shit kiddo, you can call me a gay, call me a scrotumhuffing queer, a buttfricked prancing limpdicked wienersleeve, or whatever??? I don't give a shit because it's true. It's a boring level! It just is, the autoscrolling is too slow and the level is just plain... easy! I'm not gay just because that level is so unfun that I can't bring myself to play it a whole lot, but otherwise it's a fun game!
ive never even attempted the 2nd wave because its inherently moronic to play the same game twice back to back.
Yes? I 1cc it a bunch of times. It's not even hard.
>haha yeah this famously hard game that is objectively high on the difficulty factor is actually not hard
You guys are such fops
It’s not even famously hard. NES GnG is famously hard. You just frickin suck at the game. I beat this game two loops true ending as an 11 year old in ‘93. You have no excuse
I'm pretty sure you have infinite continues in the NES version, meaning by default it's easier.
You also have infinite continues in the SNES game, dumbass. Pick up the moneybags
>continues
You didn't beat the game.
And neither have you from the looks of it. Come back to me after you actually play the game instead of crying about how difficult it is. I was no-continue clearing this game before you were born, zoomie

Sure you did.
Thanks to poorgay snes slowdown. GnG Genny would push your shit in.
>playing dogshit geneshart instead of the chad SMS port
Frick off
peak contrarian
This. The SNES one is known for being easier.
Beat this game as a kid.
>anime poster
>bad at video games
Why is this always the case
>1cc it
It's a super nintendo game idiot
Doesn't the game use credits for continues though?
Don't confuse the ESL, hell start provoking you with snk propaganda
I have not even played it yet
I did a few month ago, both loops. It's not THAT hard except for this level in the second loop.
Yeah I've done it, it's fine once you know what you're doing. The dagger is overpowered, so you can use that a lot. Heh you got a little greedy and impatient in that fight. Other than that, good shit

It’s not even hard. The easiest of the original trilogy. The only difficulty stems from the dogshit slowdown
>The easiest of the original trilogy
What's the hardest?
Arcade Makaimura
I thought NES version was supposed to be harder? I got the 2all nomiss of Makaimura (Rev G) and it wasn't super hard
The same guy who did the megaman 1 box art did this cover too.
>this objectively hard game isnt actually hard because ive had it memorized for 30 years!
>frog poster
>bad at video games
Why is this always the case
post clears then
This applies unironically to absolutely everything in life. moronic frog solves all of life's difficulties and doesn't even realize it.
great artwork, great concept, great music. But nintendo hard was a terrible era for gaming
yeah I even did it on professional difficulty
FRICK those tiny imps in the demon's stomach autoscroller part
I have, but beating the last level with the bracelet is really rough. Most of my playtime with save state practicing that stage over and over. Final boss is a joke
>asks if anyone has ever beaten the game without savestates
>says he has beat with savestates
Bravo
inb4 waaaaa it doesn't count I was only """"practicing""""!!!!
>t. couldn't even beat it with save states
have a nice day
I guess no musician is actually good at their instrument.

Psycho cannon>>
Bracelet.
I got an sd2snes. Is this rom hack worth playing over the original?
https://cdromance.com/snes-rom/super-ghoulsn-ghosts-restoration-hack/
Yes. It improves the game in every way.
What is harder out of this and Arcade version of Ghosts n Goblins/Makaimura?
I'm pretty sure I did (on original hardware), but it may have been an hallucination. Funny how the game has to be done twice in order to get the key. But I tried playing it recently and it seemed I have retained no skills because I was struggling to get to level 2.
No.
No one has ever beat Super Ghouls ‘n Ghosts whiteout the use of save states you ginormous gay.
My friend had this back in the day and managed to beat it (with true ending)
I myself only got like halfway at best.
But why? Original GnG and Ghouls has unlimited lives.
It's easy enough to grab enough money to effectively have unlimited lives, right up until I get my ass handed to me by the devils at the start of the first castle stage.
With ease.
I honestly had no idea that this game had limited continues before reading it online.
>beaten
>save states
heh
Does anyone on this board like games? Could have a higher quality discussion of this game on Ganker. Frick all of you.
Feel free to frick off at any time
Like Ganker, /vr/ doesn't talk about games, just the hardware and history of them. This board is a museum and an information desk.
Yeah it just took me quite a bit and I did actually train on how to beat a couple of the gargoyles in the late level with a save state. However I did complete the game in one playthrough without resorting to using save states. Hope that didn't confuse you.
