You'd have to be a zoomer to think Galaxy was good. Even easier than the other 3D Marios (inb4 they all are; still even insultingly easier anyway.) and was linear in a "tells you how to play every five seconds way." You need to 100% the game with Mario to unlock Luigi and you still have to go through all the tutorial info and texts boxes as if you haven't already played the game. I was meh about it when it came out, now I fricking hate it upon replaying.
>unlock Luigi and you still have to go through all the tutorial info and texts boxes as if you haven't already played the game
I hate this. And you meet another Luigi in that one galaxy, they didn't even bother changing it to Mario or anything. Having to do the exact same game again to unlock the final level is bullshit. Only 3D Mario I didn't 100% because of this crap.
>And you meet another Luigi in that one galaxy, they didn't even bother changing it to Mario or anything.
They changed the dialogue when you are playing as Luigi
I don't know why everyone calls it easy while calling fricking Sunshine of all things hard. I had a hard time in several spots since I insisted on picking all the 1-ups that killed me and I was playing effectively on easy mode since I just bound all the wagglan to a button on an emulator.
>Sunshine >90% of the levels don't even have pitfalls in a platformer >jetpack to fix every platforming frick up >secrets are hard due to no jetpack and gimmicky shit like the lily pad but it's literally impossible to die elsewhere
I died 10 times more in Galaxy, but that game actually gave you lives to die with.

The hardest parts of Sunshine are way harder than the hardest parts of Galaxy.

I had more trouble picking up that one 1-up below the thwomp surrounded by lava while bullet bills are flying at you in the last stage than I did with anything in Sunshine.

Doubt it.

Did the melon in like 2 or 3 tries. Lily pad too. Just be careful with the melon and have an idea how your water changes your momentum in the lily pad. They're not hard.

It's still harder than anything in Galaxy.

That one took like 2 tries. Mario acting like a moron while and shortly after getting shot up mixes you up, but otherwise you have plenty of safety nets and your jetpack.

>Took 2 tries
You said this about every obstacle. If you were this good at Sunshine, Galaxy wouldn't have been hard for you.
>terrible powerups >terrible bosses >no memorable levels whatsoever >extremely floaty controls >motion control pullstars, fans, and rolling a ball >literally non existant camera control >linear hallways floating in space, or 2D segments in a fricking 3D mario game
it genuinely baffles me how anyone can say the galaxy games are the best when they fundamentally fail to do literally anything better than their predecessors
wrong, wrong, wrong, little bit, motion controls are fine, didn't dpad left/right allow a little bit of camera control?, there's nothing wrong with linear halls in mario thats what the series started with
Galaxy 2 > 3D World > 3 > Galaxy > 64 > Odyssey
Not that any of them are bad. Didn't play Sunshine.
galaxy > 64 > bowser fury > galaxy 2 > 3d world > 3d land >>> sunshine >>>>>>>>> odyssey
>spring mario isnt shit when you dont even fricking need it with how much air you get in a jump, plus the spin, PLUS a wallkick >the ice and fire flowers are on a timer for some reason >hey look, here's this mushroom that lets you FLY! haha, no, we wont let you use it in any levels and its basically worthless outside flying around the hub, but lol flight >pull stars are fine despite jsut wasting your time to float to the left or right >also now you get to imitate that shit level from earthworm jim, but in SPACE >there's nothing wrong with lienar levels in a 3D mario game, the game started in 2D

NTA but the levels are more concise and it feels like they were really shooting for that >2D Mario thrown into a 3D space
vibe. Akin to what SPM was trying to do, but in a more faithful way to the source series (that being 2D mario platformers vs. SPM trying to do it to an RPG.)
3D World just felt like they made a new 3D mario game, slapped co-op on it, and charged 50% more.
I'm going through Land right now and it's nice how the levels are shorter, at least around the beginning.
>Took 2 tries
You said this about every obstacle. If you were this good at Sunshine, Galaxy wouldn't have been hard for you.
Since Sunshine isn't hard.
Galaxy has plenty of spots where it's easy to die, but it also gives you lives. Sunshine has like 8 spots where you can die at all which are inflated by not giving you lives through most of the game.
Apparently the only two video games Brad Pitt plays are Super Mario Galaxy and Skyrim
Ur Mr gay
I found it to be way too linear. It was pretty, and sounded great, but I wanted to be able to explore the various galaxies more.
>me when I see a zoomer shit talking linear
You'd have to be a zoomer to think Galaxy was good. Oh I don't like Galaxy at all nor know anything about it. I just don't like it when zoomers trash linear in general.

smb1,2,3,world are also linear

It's pretty much a toss up between this and 64.

2 was better.
I think every 3D mario is great and worth playing, except for 3D Land as it got completely made redundant by 3D World.
>3D Land got made redundant by 3D World
I disagree. Land > World
Genuinely curious why prefer 3D Land.
The levels are more fun and the 3D gimmick is actually useful for once. The cat suit isn't my favourite either.
Based take, glad to see another anon with taste.
