I liked Islets but anyone ranking it above HK is fricking crazy. I finished everything there was to do including the boss rush in about 6hrs. A bigger sequel would be cool.
Hollow Knight sucks though. I can't believe the amount of praise it gets. It's just so padded. Levels are padded, skills are padded, getting around is padded. Every area looks like the same blurry greyish mess. Every monster is barely different from ones you encounter before. A single metroidvania skill is turned down into several charms for the sake of padding. You only have one boring weapon.
>padded
world is filled with unique content and areas
if you cant feel like you're getting somewhere and that the game doesnt always reward you at the end of a long stretch, you probably just suck at naviga- >every area looks the same, monsters of the same
i need to stop replying to bait
Same weapon isn't a problem. The movement gets more fun in platforming ans boss battles. Exploration feels good obtaining new abilities. Also not fully linear but linear isn't bad either.
Sorry i misread, it's just that i thought you were one of the autistic pice of shit dedicated to meme and shit on those games.
let me give you the QRD on him
this is what he does >carefully monitors just about EVERY SINGLE modern metroid-like thread >will get absolutely utterly assblasted if anyone calls ori an '' indie game '' >will inevitably start screeching about how hollow knight is a shitty flash game and ori is a much prettier and better well made game
Ori is literally an AA game from Microsoft, the developers is literally a distributed company that work with other company to develop their games, Ori got more founding than any indie game will ever have.
I just cringe at the sole fact that someone play Ori games and think it's a cheap indie game. It's just ridiculous that's it.
And yes I don't care how endorsed hollow knight is, to me will forever be a meme cheap indie game that ruined Ori games reputation and exposed how moronic everyone are.
Yes, Ori community is just pathetic, I don't even want to call it community because it's ridiculous. If Ori had a real community now i wouldn't be here explaining why Ori is not an indie game and maybe would've had more games. Call me autistic all you want but I'm literally the only sane person on this board.
I've played a few and enjoyed them too, but none as much as Hollow Knight. If you want good metroidvanias though I'd recoment Guacamelee and Outland. There are others of course, but these two stood out for me
I love metroid but I couldn't get into hollow knight. Everything/everywhere just looks the same. The levels are bland/samey/monotonous. Like imagine if they made super metroid but the entire game was just crateria
>Games you enjoyed as much as hollow knight
Not a metroidvania (since I can't find any metroidvania as mindnumbingly boring as Hollow Knight) but I enjoyed picrel just as much as it. Both are plainly inferior, repetitive, boring, unsatisfying games and the lowest their respective genre have to offer but are popular anyway.
Pronty is the only metroidvania I’ve played recently that has a somewhat novel combat system even if I never really got used to it and had to crank down the difficulty to finish the game.
Enviromental Station Alpha in my opinion surpasses Hollow Knight, I still love Hollow Knight tho
Thank bros I'll check it out
>dude just run through the lava zone and pray you make it
Loving the game so far though.

Soon, my friend 🙂
due to the lack of NTR in other metroidvanias, I can't enjoy them as much
got bored in 1 hours and stopped playing
I'm playing FIST right now, 4 hours in and it's on Great tier so far.
kunai was great
Definitely amazing tier

Flash tier garbage game, overrated by zoomers and mouthbreaters
Why are you kids so desperate for attention? Hope this (You) cheers you up kiddo.
Thanks i hope you also have a nice day

Okay then recommend some good side scrolling platform games

La Mulana 1 & 2
and the sequel
anon, dont mind the following autist :

thanks for proving my point, autist
the only things ruining ori's reputation is its moronic fanbase of insufferable furgays

what?
try that again but this time take your meds before you post so that maybe you can write something coherent
Sorry i misread, it's just that i thought you were one of the autistic pice of shit dedicated to meme and shit on those games.
Almost everthing I liked then I suppose cause hollow knight was like a 6/10
>it's another episode of Ganker contrarians complaining about hollow knight
I hate reruns

I really liked GRIME. Very unique setting and lore, and the boss fights feel very dynamic once you get the pull mechanic down.
>Israel dev
skip out of principle
You're loss. They've released a major DLC for free and have another in the works so they're hardly stereotypically "israeli."
Hollow Knight is perhaps the best game ever tho. Not just Metroidvania.
I love metroid but I couldn't get into hollow knight. Everything/everywhere just looks the same. The levels are bland/samey/monotonous. Like imagine if they made super metroid but the entire game was just crateria
we get it you got lost in the crossroads
>super metroid but the entire game was just crateria
No need for that the entire already looks like crateria
>Games you enjoyed as much as hollow knight

I thought EtG wasn't all that popular, because it's more of a bullet hell game than a roguelite.
Pronty is the only metroidvania I’ve played recently that has a somewhat novel combat system even if I never really got used to it and had to crank down the difficulty to finish the game.
Metroid Prime and Zero mission surpass it by far. It’s about on par with Dread due to Dread having better movement and combat.
