>best reason to buy saturn is its great console ports of arcade games
>every exclusive worth playing has either been re-released on another platform or it's Panzer Dragoon Saga
So since arcade emulation/fpga has gotten so good there's no reason to play the inferior saturn ports, and you can play stuff like radiant silvergun or guardian heroes on newer, more convenient hardware, is there really any reason to own one of these things outside of playing PDS?

do we really need to continue dunking on the sadturd?
Just emulate and go away, you’re clearly not interested
why don't you try having some fun with the console anon? don't overthink too much, if you're not enjoying it, go play something else
>OP is so uneducated that he doesn't know the actual best Panzer Dragoon, which isn't Saga, is also still Saturn-exclusive.
I'm so sorry
No you're not
I actually am. I have been posting on /vr/ for over a decade and people are still uneducated on retro. I have failed you as a mentor, neo /vr/.
Top 3 retro consoles and why, quick
nta
>explain why you like three different systems quickly
I imagine they'll take the time they want
Yeah, it's sufficient. Keep up for another decade mentoranon
Famicom, Mega Drive, Super Famicom
The holy trinity of retro.
I don't really need to explain much, just look at their libraries and their legacy.
That seems sufficient
>just look at their libraries
Famicom library isn't that good, full of janky crap and most great games are very well known. PS1/PS2s libraries are a lot deeper. Deeper than the MD library too, bad arcade ports/remakes are not a strong library, not when you can play arcade originals. SNES does have a great library though
All consoles have janky games of which popular consoles have more, that's what makes finding fun games enjoyable regardless of platform.
A lot of those MD arcade ports are better than the arcade originals though.
Snes, n64, dreamcast
Snes library speaks for itself, N64 has the best quality to quantity ratio of any console, and Dreamcast is the absolute pinnacle of /vr/ soul due to it being sega’s swansong and so full of forward thinking quirks and peripherals. Shenmue alone even
snes library is basically a worse version of ps1
PS1 doesn't have nearly as much sidescroll action/platforming as 3rd and 4th gen systems, shitposter.
why do you insist in playing that trash when you can play some 3d action/platforming game?
Ok shitposter.
super nintendo is a quantity over quality situation
Nothing in your post actually means anything, this isn't Xitter.
>PS1 doesn't have nearly as much sidescroll action/platforming as 3rd and 4th gen systems
No shit, everybody was too busy cranking out 3D stuff because it was one of the first (non-shitty) consoles to allow true 3D games out of the box. That said, you can't sleep on the sidescrollers that the PS1 did manage to land.
genesis, pce, snes
Didnt say why, dumbdumb
The best one is on Xbox
Not really, Zwei is better than Orta.
Saturn versions are superior to arcade versions.
Not really
Incorrect. It's why there's saturn tribute releases today. They were enhanced.
what the frick is a saturn tribute release?
Bug too!, Mr. Bones, clockwork knight, Albert Odyssey, bulk slash, etc... it's definitely got fun shit, but I don't expect an idiot such as yourself (who also sucks wiener as per usual for the OP) to find the value in things that aren't shoved down your throat by the WEF.
Don't care, still playing Saturn games
Now beat my time unless you're a homosexual tertiary that doesn't play any games at all.
gotta luv me sega rally man
The Saturn is awesome. When I bought the imported from Japan Metal Slug new in the late 90s I finally had arcade-at-home. Finally! Not some shitty stripped down port like Captain America and the Avengers (Sega Genesis version but it’s still very, very enjoyable) & The Punisher (ditto) but Metal Slug is just like the Neo Geo version but with extras!
I’m not going to argue how Metal Slug has some slowdown and may be missing a frame or two either. It’s still excellent and just fun with the fighting school and art gallery. Saturn brought me actual arcade-at-home. And KoFs, Fatal Fury series, Marvel vs Capcom games, and more. All for home and all for your enjoyment. And the Saturn controllers are still excellent so much so that I use mine for pc via raphnet usb adapters.
Sega, the gift that keeps on giving!
There's never a reason for poor children to own anything. Emulate on your moms old obamaphone.
>obamaphone
hahhahahahahahahahaha
I haven't thought of this in so long anon
RINGRINGRINGRINGRINGRINGRING OBAMAPHONE
>obamaphone
Holy shit dude, fricking kek. Got a good laugh out of me
There are recordable dvd players I'd rather have than a saturn.

No reason to own retro consoles in general when reseller prices are sky high and emulation exists. Buy an RG Arc instead if you want to play Saturn games
The only reason to own any retro systems is because you want to. Usually if you are a collector, or if they have sentimental value to you. If that's your case go right ahead, those are fine reasons.
Simply wanting to play games is not really a good reason to bother with failing ancient hardware. The vast majority of games on those systems are either available on more modern and convenient systems or can be easily emulated with no significant difference in experience.
>with no significant difference in experience.
Says you.
