yah FM is best. there's just something about smashing cards into each other to create new more powerful monsters thats so fun. not sure why the concept was never expanded upon in any other game. also the music was top tier, nailing that egyptian vibe instead of the future shit in newer games

I played it for the first time recently and the gameplay is kind of trash, since everything devolves into knowing two or three fusion combos that gets you the highest ATK monster out on the field, and building your deck to fit those combinations.
I didn't play the Tag Force series until much later, because I pretty much solely played Nintendo games, and Tag Force stood out so much because it really hit all the right spots for me. Loved the story focus but with the freedom of free roam + mini routes, and the AI being competent is the cherry on top.
I don't get why you wouldn't just play it in sequential order. The only bad thing about Tag Force 1 is that it takes a lot more time to get to the meat of the game than the games that come after, but it makes up for it with soul.
At the same time, if you don't give a shit about the anime associated with the games, you might not enjoy it as much.

It's a great game and if you have a hard time it's a skill issue for (You).
Somewhat it but instead of having a normal board like regular Yugioh it was more chess like where you had to move your cards up to your enemy.
