Only real complaints I have are the OST having like 3 good tracks and the PVP. Everything else was solid and I had a good time with it.
I think they knew that since the characters are all just voices they had to establish personalities quickly and cleanly, which went a long way. Hell part of why so many like the bad ending is because they just like Walter and Carla.

I've played through the game like 7 times and one of them was in JP. It's not bad by any stretch of the imagination but the English voice acting, short of Carla who's easily the weakest one, is quite good and fits the cheesy nature of the game better. It's like Ace Combat in that regard.

I'd cut AC6 some slack because this is the first AC game in a decade and how they're getting their hands back after making Souls games continuously. There's also the fact that people expecting mecha Souls which freaked them the frick out and led them to play safe for newcomers. I won't be as forgiving on their next AC game though.

They really also need to improve on the stagger system. Man, I just don't get it, all of these shit stagger systems in games are based on Sekiro's stagger system, that did it right the first time by it being balanced against continuous attacks and parries, certain counters, the HP bar and the multiple deathblows and then everyone went

I started playing it the other day and I really like it but feel not in control of my mech. I got my shit pushed in by that first optional tank in the early mission to destroy helicopters.
That'll come with practice and understanding what parts to use to get your AC to move how you want.
I really think the OST was intentionally made to be more subdued to fit the theme of a dying and desolate planet. The only thing I really wish they'd done differently was giving the boss music had some more oomph to them.
