I know someone mentioned a better system for superhero stuff but I can’t remember the name for the life of me sadly
I’ll be honest, I just wanna frick around making a world full of supervillains then see other people make superheroes to fight em but that requires some system atleast
GURPS 🙂
It is pretty versatile…
I’ll think on it but I remember there being a specific one someone mentioned… wasn’t masks or M&M but it was supers themed…
Someone keeps bringing up Prowlers and Paragons, so it might be that. Don't know anything about it myself.
Doesn’t look familiar sorry… still might give it a look though
I like Prowlers. It's got the versatility of MM but with less crunch. Just a pool of d6s for everything and variant rules depending on if you wanna do Adam West Batman cartoony shenanigans or Punisher MAX or something in between.
I'm not using the default rule where the level of success determines whether it's the player or the DM who describes what happens, but it's a neat idea.
Is it Icons?
Still no… will check it out if I can find a free PDF online
From memory the book inside was black and white if that helps
My preference is HERO system/Champions if that helps, supers themed and black and white on the inside checks your two boxes so far.
Champions is probably the closest I can get to what I’m remembering, cheers anon!
Will have to look at all this tomorrow as I am currently in a lot of pain™ But honestly as long as it’s easy to pick up and make some characters with it’ll work
Wild Talents?
Anyone have any adventures/modules for a Supers setting?
I'm making my own setting and wanna compare my stuff to something premade, stress test it for pacing and whatnot.
Pretty much every system has some form of superhero book
like just off the top of my head Savage Worlds (not very good at high levels), gurps, mythras, cortex and a few other all have their own superhero stuff
MHRP is a good simple system, but it’s inconsistent and leans on dice tricks. The scale is limited too. Easy to play and run, there’s a homebrewed chargen somewhere.
You want FASERIP This is the same system used in TSRs Marvel Super Heroes RPG. To this day this system is the most true to 1980s - 2010 style of comicbook hero action, at least in terms of marvel style action (DC is more high power with more "godlike" levels. Marvel is generally less op'ed). FASERIP is to this day still the fricking platinum standard for a superhero game system.
GURPS
I highly recommend Wild Talents. It can flawlessly represent any power you like.
I have been reading Fudge for quite some time now. I think it would work great for a Superhero game especially the "Marvelous Superheroes"build of the system.
