>Better than 9?
9 is moronic for getting rid of the Slide and the Charge Shot. Also for making the wily stages a marathon again. It made bad design decisions and if any other game did that everyone would see it for the moronic shit it is.
If any other game sequel removed mechanics from the previous games the way MM9 did everyone would call it out for the bullshit it is. People think that since MM2 is the best one, if we want a Mega Man game to be good it must be like MM2. Sliding and Charge Shots just give the player more options rather than spam firing the normal attack. Hell, the game calls it the Mega Buster, despite the fact that the Mega Buster specifically refers to the one with the charge shot per Mega Man 4. Its bad nostalgia baiting.
The weapons were solid, too. Hornet Chaser is probably my all time favorite because siccing bees on your enemies is weirdly funny to me. I also like the utility they have with bringing back items that are awkward/impossible to grab.
>you are criticizing 9 for what it isn't
Yes because it is a sequel. If Mega Man 1 came out after Mega Man 2 would you not criticize it for lacking mechanics in the previous game? Removing the slide and the charge shot is a bad decision. What a moronic opinion. If a Kirby game came out that lacked Copy Abilities like Kirby's Dreamland or a Mario game came out that didn't let you store a power up while you have one the way every game before Mario World did, would you not think these are bad decisions?
not him but he takes double damage so that sucks considering 9 is already hard and the levels aren't built around it anyway

seems fair to me. Proto Man has better mobility and damage than Mega Man so he needs to have a weakness as otherwise he would just be "better Mega Man"

I'm not against it or anything, it's just that it's not nearly the same as having levels and enemies built around it is all

that's true. I don't really mind it since 9 is still one of the best classic Mega Man games
Yes but he also takes double damage and has a shield. Also, I want to play Mega Man, not Proto Man.
Both of your examples happened and they were fine.
There are like 3 Kirby games without copy abilities and its because they are gimmick games. I meant an actual Kirby game. Which mainline Mario game removed power up storage? >inb4 a 3D Mario game or spinoff.
This game's just weird to me. >Why is Mega Man fighting a bunch of random Street Fighter characters? >Are they humans, or robots? >If they're humans, how can Mega Man hurt them without breaking the laws of robotics? >Why isn't Guile a boss? >Why is Urien a boss? >Why is Sagat a weird bonus fight? >Why is Rose weak to watermelons?
It was a cool game though, would play it again.
Because it's a glorified fangame that released half unfinished since they had nothing to show for the anniversary of one of their most iconic franchises.
>short as frick stages even for MM standards >barely any pits or spikes making the already short stages even easier >some bosses don't even have a stage
leave it to capcum to pick the one fangame that falls way below the baseline to make official
Better than 9?
Being a download on the website at least allows it to exist, but not be on steam as that would lead to a new generation of autisist.

Nothing wrong with going back to basics MM doesn't need the charge or slide to be good

People say 9 is the best because the soundtrack is fricking amazing, not because of the removed mechanics
Not even a top 3 Mega Man soundtrack. Mogged by 3, 2 and 4.
The weapons were solid, too. Hornet Chaser is probably my all time favorite because siccing bees on your enemies is weirdly funny to me. I also like the utility they have with bringing back items that are awkward/impossible to grab.

you know that proto man has the slide and the charge shot in 9, right?

capcom acknowledged this fanmade slop unlike pretty much every other company does and you are still complaining
This game's just weird to me.

The no hit boss thing was funny because you could just E tank last minute and slap them and it would count
Wasn't this a fangame and Capcom went "OH SHIT, WE HAVE NOTHING FOR MEGA MAN'S ANNIVERSARY" and just made this official?
Because it's a glorified fangame that released half unfinished since they had nothing to show for the anniversary of one of their most iconic franchises.
>Fangame is better than official products.
Many such cases.
>Fangame is better
It can be
>short as frick stages even for MM standards
>barely any pits or spikes making the already short stages even easier
>some bosses don't even have a stage
leave it to capcum to pick the one fangame that falls way below the baseline to make official
but enough about sonic mania
>better than 1
Sure
>5,8,9,10
No
But it's a nice game nonetheless.
The boss fights were fun, but the stages scream fangame
>every boss in the game
charge shot sucks because it overwrites the god tier ost with a sound effect
Mega Man Unlimited fixed that
Terrible fan game that doesn't understand Mega Man. Play Super Fighting Robot, Unlimited, or Rock n Roll instead.
how does it not understand Mega Man?
