No it's still quite mediocre, lack of damage doesn't bother me too much but it's not pushing the gimmick and concept far enough if you ask me. Going to play one in our current campaign to replace my character, gm allowed me to homebrew it up a bit, but I mainly added utility, damage won't change much but I don't give a shit it's just cool
5e doesn't offer too much in terms of player customization. The exception to this being Fighter, who get all the feats and ASIs they want on top of their typical class features. Give a Battlemaster Fighter a stick with polearm master and barehanded fighting and they'd probably make a better Monk than the Monk

That said, 52% is still on the higher end of the free classes. Plus since Hexblade (the best warlock Patron bar none) isn't in the Player's Handbook that skews the numbers even further away from what they should be.

Staff that posted the results actually said that those classes, e.g. friend, were still number one even with excluding the free options. People just like basic tropes.
I like warlock since you can play a spellcaster without the normal downtime of shooting useless arrows to save spell slots. I've only played one session of 5E and it was as a Warlock though, I could just not know that all the spellcasters have something interesting they can do unlimited times.
I haven't looked that much into 5E, if cantrips are unlimited and scale then maybe you're right. One other thing would be that people who want to play a full arcane caster split between Sorcerer and Wizard, and maybe people that want to play a more support-oriented class split between Bard and Cleric (just assuming they are going by the fantasy on the tin, I realize both don't have to be supports). Warlock is kind of its own thing.
They're solid mechanically, straightforward, customizable, and have RP basically built in through their patron, whereas folks struggle against falling into a theme or two with other classes.
yea, what the most likely scenario is that there are two patches/panels left. Next one in October/November and the 2nd on in February/March. Then release is probably set for June/July next year. This is only if we believe Swen isn't lying when he's saying that the game is almost complete.
I'm pretty sure they always said they would only be releasing Act 1 in Early Access, and most of Act 1 has been available since they released Early Access.
Monk probably. I imagine we only have a few more patches to go before they do a full release, probably another in a month or two and another at the end of this year or the beginning of next.
I’m looking forward to monk mainly because I wanna see the animations they do for and if they make any changes to the class. Been disappointed so far as the reaction system is still poop so some spells and classes are being shat on right now.
Probably this. Release Q1 or Q2 of 2023, so a patch in late Q3 and Q4 of this year maybe. Depending of course how their reaction system is coming along. They've talked about it being under work and I refuse to believe they'd let the game release with the abomination we currently have.
Q1 release is a bit optimistic, but they did say they were moving to polishing in the coming months. Not at all unlikely. I also agree that we'll probably get Paladin last, as it seems to be a fan favorite.
Bard and Paladin seem like they would have the most raw content, with maybe warlock. Maybe they'll fake us all out and make monk the most amazing thing, though.

I took my normal path doing things in the usual order. When I went back to the Grove |spoiler] all the druids went crazy and killed all the tieflings. Now all the tieflings and druids are dead and I haven't even gotten to the gobo camp yet. [/spoiler]

There was a new cutscene at camp that I hadn't seen before as well, everyone had a fever and was acting strange.
Not sure if that is what caused the stuff at the Grove to happen or not?
Also after that happened I went back to camp where I left Astorian and he was also crazy and attacked the party forcing me to kill him, couldn't use a scroll to revive him and skele bro wasn't offering to resurrect him either.
Seems like they made some major changes in the new patch. The game is coming together nicely though.

Wrong. While tieflings are based off of a modern depiction of the christian's evil god, they are not demons themselves but rather descendants from a mix between mortals and demons. Their whole deal is how there is, supposedly, a inherent evil nature pulling at them but they can choose to overcome it and become normal people. There is even a discussion between nature vs nurture in their dilemma, and how the expectation of them being evil is what might put them on to that path.
But surely you didn't already know this, and instead you're trying your mightiest to make someone trigger you have so you can go on an unhinged proselytization about inane bullshit unrelated to the game at hand that you still feel the need to inject into every thread on this anonymous wool weaving forum, right?

there are proper brawny bodies in the game files that are fully done and work properly if you mod the game and enable them but for whatever reason larian never bothered to enable them by default

Are you forced to play a charisma class if you want to do persuasion?
Well I'd certainly recommend against a class that has multiple ability score dependencies if you want charisma as well.
But if your class only needs 1 or 2 ability scores to be good then getting 14 in charisma and Persuasion proficiency is easy enough.
