First game was great, but man, that combat was complete ass jank. Yeah don't bother coming at me with your >hurrr durr you didn't understand it, it was actually really good if you take the time to learn it
nonsense.
>combat is jank
The only problem with it was fighting multiple dudes. All you had to do to win was learn reposts from the sergeant and to do that you just had to talk with him to train more.
I don't mind it being a bit janky, but it's mechanically shit as well. Master strikes are a cancer that completely kill any chance for combat to have any flow and clinches are just an "I win" button in 1v1s past the early game
>Use a weapon of your choice >Onehit kill everyone >Press parry when someone attacks
Runescape has more involved melee system and you got filteres by this?
So are they gonna keep Henry as the protagonist or are they gonna stick someone else in the role? Because it'd be pretty lame to pick up where the last game left off except suddenly Henry doesn't know any of his skills from the previous game.
unknown but it will propably still be Henry but they'll have to come up with some scenario for why he forgets his skills or shit like that but who knows.
Henry ends the game as an extremely talented, yet still moderately skilled man-at-arms out in the boondocks. He's a bit of a mid sized fish in a very small pond. Canonically, he'd probably still get his shit pushed in by a fighting age knight (notice that the knights/nobles you do end up facing in KCD are all past their prime) or master swordsman. There still tons of room for growth. KCD 2 will probably end with Henry becoming a proper knight.
>keeps combat the same >filters me and 99% of Ganker and I still buy it for comfy journey
The combat is pure shit though, the moment you learn to break it via perks like head cracker or whatever it becomes a joke that atleast is shit enough to fly through
I've been waiting for a sequel announcement for years.
I can't express enough how I'd be excited if it gets announced. (Or disappointed if it doesn't happen)
I mean i thought it would happen on SGF but then i realized since KCD is Europe devs then the European game event would make more sense to show it there and if the leak is to go anything by, since a game that fit every criteria of KCD is said to release in 2024
METRO CHADS WE EATING GOOD
KCD CHADS WE EATING GOOD

Either be an RPG or be an action game. Trying to be both always makes games shittier. At this point I think it's just a crutch for studios who suck at action design so they use RPG as a crutch. Cry all you want, the action is the worst part of KCD, and the RPG mechanics are extremely lackluster.
the game has been out for ages. everyone knows by now.
be glad I dont spoiler you the solution of the best quest like some gaming review side did for me day 1.
KCD is both one of the most addictive/fun and most frustrating games I've played.
Designwise, I think there's some major flaws. While the quest variety is stellar, the enemy variety and locational variety are lacking. Like outside of the prologue, how many mounted enemies do you face? The sequel needs to do something about the master strike as well, and some actually usable pole-arms and crossbows (seriously, it's Bohemia, crossbows outnumbered bows) would be nice.
Master strike is my only criticism of the combat. Once the enemies use it, combos become impossible and irrelevant and all fights become fishing for master strikes. It's gay and should just be removed entirely.
master strikes should be restricted in some way. they have the potential to be a good mechanic but if you have low stamina or bad positioning it shouldn't be possible to master strike, and likewise for enemies. if enemies are tired, off balance, or have their weapon in the wrong place, they shouldn't be able to riposte.
How is KCD? Bought on Xbone when it came out but only played for a few hours. Bought again on Steam and haven't played yet
And is it better to be more sword and board or sneaky?
Confirmed so far: >Game is a continuation of the counterfeit plot from the original >Hans Capon is now gay, and in love with Henry >the subplot revolves around them finding themselves with each other and hiding it from the "backward" people of the time >all possible female romances removed >random enemies, bandits, knights, captains, and fighters are now female and hold equal status with men generally >there is a section where you go back to visit Theresa, who has been retconned away from being Henry's love interest, and has now instead birthed a child to a travelling Moorish merchant who fell in love and decided to stay >quest where you have to sneak into Theresa's house, there is a sex cutscene between her and the moor while Henry watches
I need gay romance in KCD 2. Especially if I can romance the villain gay. That would make KCD 2 a 10/10 game.
I don't mind the combat, but as people have said 100 times, random bandits shouldn't be able to riposte you 90% of the time.
The game really discourage you for being aggressive even though in real life that's probably how it is.
Strafing around for minutes just to do riposte/master strike over and over is not fun.
>Original post talking about how random bandit can randomly riposte you >Changed goal to "you can't take 10 bandits at the same time if you want that go play skyrim"
???
The frick are you talking about?
not him but that has nothing to do with the complaint, which is that the game actively penalizes you for actually trying to attack the enemy
even in a 1v1 with a random peasant you can get master striked which means combos, feints, etc. are useless and most battles are only won by abusing clinches or waiting for an attack and master striking back.
>Original post talking about how random bandit can randomly riposte you >Changed goal to "you can't take 10 bandits at the same time if you want that go play skyrim"
???
The frick are you talking about?
Black person, if you get master striked by peasants you are playing on fighting skill level 1
I remember when this game came out and there was also some kind of moronic subtle culture war shit surrounding it that only Ganker talked about. Kinda like BG3.
it started because some grifting news website started seething that there were no brown people in a game that takes place in 15th century central europe
The only thing I hate about KCD was the backers having their faces on the Christian art in the churches. Took away the atmosphere when you're forced to see the face of some basement dwelling neckbeard plastered as a saint.
I just seriously hope that they finish all of the side quests.
The monk undercover quest feels pointless as frick because all of what you did have 0 consequent. If I knew it was not finished I would have just rushed getting the bandit out.
Barely anyone played through the whole thing, barely any sales at all. A whole ten people here screaming for a sequel until a half assed asset flip comes ten years later.
KCD somehow managed to recapture the immersion and adventure it felt like playing Oblivion for the first time as a high schooler.
I'm really hoping we get a KCD2 and that it's just as good
If they hadn't made the combat work like Gothic 1 and 2 where your stats have to hit a breakpoint vs your enemy to do their actual damage, it would have been perfect. No amount of "skillful play" makes up for sheer bruteforce stat grinding.
They better fix the jank. I quit playing because of it. And I wasn't even halfway through the game. They should make the combat more like Chivalry/Mordhau
>What mental disorder makes a man think a game will sell better than another game just because it's higher quality than it?
Unironically, a moron like

.
They are genuinely so stupid that they have managed to survive all the way to 2023 and not realize that a solid 95% of sales is entirely a function of marketing, with quality being almost totally irrelevant. See the wild success of total trash like Cyberpunk, Frotnite, Elden Ring, and Call of Duty.
Remember:
Mass Effect sold 2 million copies as of 2021
Mass Effect: Andromeda had sold 5miillion
Mass Effect: 3 had sold 7 million
Normies lap up total dog shit when the marketing tells them to, and ignore diamonds when the marketing is silent.
>Start game >The entire plot revolves around a sword >90% of the enemies use swords >Swords have the most weapon types >There is an entire sidequest about a legendary sword >Swords have the most talents >Swords have the most combos >But they're the worst weapon BY FAR and equipping a mace or axe is infinitely superior
When I first started playing the game I hated it. When you have decent armor fighting another sword user is literally like two people hit slapping one another with sticks. Both you and the enemy take so many hits to kill. Then with like level 1 mace skill I bought a decent mace and began to 2 or 3 shot people with headshots. Yet maces only get like 3 talents and literally the best mace in the game can be bought for like 1500 groschen or some trivial amount. It is pretty dumb. I hope KCD2 buffs swords and also gives more talent and combos to all weapons.
That being said I like the game overall, and I actually like Henry quite a bit. He is a great protagonist. I think they did a good job at making a first person, medieval simulator game but then also gave the protagonist a clear personally that you can sort of change through dialogue, but ultimately he is just Henry. I also like his voice acting, he is definitely the best VA in the game.
Frick real life, dude. The game has magical potions and the ability to sleep to heal all of your wounds. The realism it has is more for atmosphere, but gameplay is more important. You don't put the most effort and work into the weapon type that is objectively the worst.
Speaking of maces >decide to try doing mace training with Bernard because I have no skill in it >take off my armor so it doesn't get damaged, wooden training weapons don't do damage anyway >unbeknownst to me this is true for all training weapons except for the mace training weapons because it's just a fricking bludgeon >Bernard beats me almost to death >would have died after sparring if I didn't have medical supplies on me
T-thanks Bernard...
>Train your strength to 9 by fighting the trainer over and over >Buy a mace >Suddenly combat is relatively easy, also get your doggo to make group fights more tolerable
Obviously if you fight 3 or 4 on 1 it is still tough, but even 2v1s are pretty easy with your doggo. Also you can just use horse archery too, but meh, frick the bow.
nah it still be Henry and will propably be shortly before hussite wars or even during those, they might use time skips or something. maybe a battle at Grunwald since it was originally in the first trailer for KCD but got cut cuz time and money
>story
Continuation of the first game's story, except a new protagonist. Henry is still a character, just not the one we play as. >new mechanics/things to do/locations
Mechanically probably very similar, maybe they fix the combat a bit and add blacksmithing like they originally wanted to. I think they might try going for a properly big city, which would be kino if they do. >waifu targets
Theresa still
the devs were spotted searching through archives in Kuttenberg ( 2nd most important city in the Kingdom after Prague ) so it is speculated it will be set around there. Radzig also died in there irl got killed by angry miners cuz taxes and ideology
I'd be very disappointed if I didn't get to play as Henry. His story is unresolved still. He had a character arc but it is literally setting up for a sequel starring him.
predictions for the sequel?
in terms of >story >new mechanics/things to do/locations >waifu targets
I assume they're moving past Henry, and doing a new main character, or even just "create your own character" like current RPG meta
I imagine that Hans and Henry are gonna get thrown in prison when they arrive at the castle and be there for several years, lowering your stats and skills to a more moderate level (but still higher than you started the first game with). You'll get out of prison via shenanigans and have to figure out what happened in the world over the course of a few years. I want them to add more talents to every skill including bows, but also add crossbows and maybe even throwing weapons. Make polearms a major weapon type too. Aside from that I think that they can mostly just tighten up the combat and some of the more annoying systems... AND GET SOME BETTER VOICE ACTORS. The game has like, 3 good VAs and the rest are downright awful.
The thing with Henry is that by the end of KCD he's a fricking übermensch. You can't really do much rpg progression with him anymore. Even if you do the out of shape in prison thing you'd still need to give him brain damage on top of that. And I just really crippling protags like that to being with. You can finish up his story just fine even if he's not the main character.
>Download mod to show crosshair for the bow >balance is immediately fricked to the point where it basically turns into a medieval serious sam game
They really should have balanced the bow in a different way, teying to balance by making things annoying to use is never a good answer, because people fix the annoyances and unintentionally break the game.
Nah I like the bow. Just don't use a cursor mod, it feels very satisfying when you land hits without it. Otherwise you might as well complain that installing an aimbot made an FPS too easy.
>mod game >upset game is now affected
if only there was some way to avoid this conundrum
Theresa still
>Henry is still a character, just not the one we play as.
Probably the best solution, though I was hoping they would take the story someplace else entirely, like Germany or France.
KCD was originally planned as a trilogy of episodic games before they united the first two episodes into what is now KCD. But presumably they plan on making the next game episode 3. I'm also no sure they'd be able to keep up their autistic enthusiasm if they were setting a game somewhere other than their backyard.
>Henry is now a minor lord >his dad is KWAB and sick >Capon is now Rattay's kang >Divish is dead, replaced by Stephanie and is under siege because no woman should ever be in charge >Theresa has Henry's child
>KCD 2
Is that for fricking real? There's going to be a KCD 2? Frick yea!
Give me that and Stalker 2 and I'd actually have some fricking games to look forward to.
To pour some ice water on your balls here, it's all just speculation on our part. There has been no announcement and as far as I know no leak either. It's just people expecting/hoping it gets announced, nothing concrete.
unfortunately for me the game glitched and played the subtitles for Johanka's trial (even though I don't even own that DLC) which completely brought me out of the scene
After seeing the Joel Haver sponsored video for BG3 I think there an assload of shilling going on.
I even think the chuds that have been calling indie game threads as shilling were in fact shills themselves for BG3 as they want to repress any other recent release than BG3.
I dont know if its Laurian doing the shilling or Wizards of the Coast. Given how mean spirited it is, I think its Wizards of the Coast.
The problem is not degenerate devs or even hypocrite liberals. The real problem is that western cucks give too much importance to whatever bullshit these journo trannies have to say.
Bought KCD on sale recently. it's such a charming little game. As someone who lives in rural England the pure yob energy of all the peasant characters speaks to me on a deep personal level. Compared to every other RPG that just feels American KCD captures the vibe perfectly.
where can KCD 2 realistically go
the story was never the main focus and it can't pull any punches while staying historical
so it can only be game mechanics improvements
Hi Henry!
Henry has come to see us!
I hope KCD 2 keeps the original's SOVL
if it does none of the other games stand a chance
you can’t self insert as a homosexual, so it will filter most on this board
Counterpoint: There is an achievement for maintaining your virginity til the end.

Not as heterosexual as mating pressing Theresa into the hay

Pointing out that OP is a gay that is only contributing to the deluge of BG3 spam on the catalogue isn’t appeal to common belief fallacy moron.

You underestimate the autism.
what the frick is KCD? Someone write it out to non Gankerirgins

Thank you, figured it out.
I am actually looking forward to Hammerwatch 2

The only problem with it was fighting multiple dudes. All you had to do to win was learn reposts from the sergeant and to do that you just had to talk with him to train more.
I don't mind it being a bit janky, but it's mechanically shit as well. Master strikes are a cancer that completely kill any chance for combat to have any flow and clinches are just an "I win" button in 1v1s past the early game

Henry ends the game as an extremely talented, yet still moderately skilled man-at-arms out in the boondocks. He's a bit of a mid sized fish in a very small pond. what is the point with combos? do they ever work?
Not with every random untrained bandit being masters of the blade and perfect parrying and riposting everything
combat is alright, you just have to take the time to get the skills

I love both BG3 and KCD
I love KCD and I'm not decided on BG3 because I've only played an hour or two of it. I will say my impressions so far are not great.
KCD would've been so much better if it was actually an RPG and not a mediocre action adventure game + stats.
holy moronation
Either be an RPG or be an action game. Trying to be both always makes games shittier. At this point I think it's just a crutch for studios who suck at action design so they use RPG as a crutch. Cry all you want, the action is the worst part of KCD, and the RPG mechanics are extremely lackluster.
if thats your opinion okay.
KCD doesn't have dating and hot women, so who gives a shit about this flop. No ones buying this shit. Sex is the only thing that sells.
>KCD doesn't have dating and hot women
bad bait already.
Realistic to the medieval ages then.
Theresa is the single most attractive video game character ever created.
Theresa is a total waifu tho. Shame Henry probably can't marry her now after finding out he's a noble.
spoilers you fricking Black person
the game has been out for ages. everyone knows by now.
be glad I dont spoiler you the solution of the best quest like some gaming review side did for me day 1.
Henry isn't a noble, he's a noble's bastard son
>He didn't have multiple flings during his playthrough
Shitter, I...
I was saving myself for Teresa
>new BG3 cope dropped
You fricking coomers ruin everything. Sex and romance options is completely irrelevant and unnecessary in video games.
KCD is both one of the most addictive/fun and most frustrating games I've played.
Designwise, I think there's some major flaws. While the quest variety is stellar, the enemy variety and locational variety are lacking. Like outside of the prologue, how many mounted enemies do you face? The sequel needs to do something about the master strike as well, and some actually usable pole-arms and crossbows (seriously, it's Bohemia, crossbows outnumbered bows) would be nice.
the pope outlawed crossbows because it meant a peasant could kill a knight
only rhodoks israelites, muslims and milanese use them
shameful display
>KCD is both one of the most addictive/fun and most frustrating games I've played.
That's the mark of a fantastic game.
>the enemy variety and locational variety are lacking
I'm ok with it, the game is supposed to be groundedi n realism
Master strike is my only criticism of the combat. Once the enemies use it, combos become impossible and irrelevant and all fights become fishing for master strikes. It's gay and should just be removed entirely.

go back to sucking dicks on reddit
Its pretty good, sneak is okay for weakening camps of enemies mostly so the open combat is still the best.
Its a meme game people only cared about because it was slavshit.
such organic replies
It's confirmed that Itsvan Toth will have a forced threesome with Henry during KCD 2 just to show how villainous the gays are.
His name has also been changed to Fistman Top

0/10 bait
>Average American video game about medieval Europe
I need gay romance in KCD 2. Especially if I can romance the villain gay. That would make KCD 2 a 10/10 game.
They need to 1-up Baldur's Gate 3 and replace Henry's horse with ye olde Mr. Hands
It still surprise me that this game is more popular than FF 16. I haven't played 16 because I don't have PS5 but it just seems funny to me.
exclusives are always worse off than multi-plats usually.

Other than maybe STALKER.
All that atmosphere with literally nothing to do
What do you mean? There's tons to do.
WAIT IT GOT ANNOUNCED!?
At the Gamescom
This game reminds me of dragons dogma here.
Barely anyone played through the whole thing, barely any sales at all. A whole ten people here screaming for a sequel until a half assed asset flip comes ten years later.
It sold well enough to guarantee a sequel.
Are you high? People love Dragons Dogma.
>dragons dogma
>Barely anyone played
The sight of men excites it!
KCD sold more than 5 million copies though.
more like an actually good Gothic game since no Gothic is good at all.
it's like a shit gothic
KCD somehow managed to recapture the immersion and adventure it felt like playing Oblivion for the first time as a high schooler.
I'm really hoping we get a KCD2 and that it's just as good

KCD was pure magic. I loved that game.
Who never thought that you could actually shag that old hag?
me
A drunk in Prague told me that Kingdom Come 2 is real
I fricking hope so. Game is comfy
What mod is that?
Knight follower mod
They better fix the jank. I quit playing because of it. And I wasn't even halfway through the game. They should make the combat more like Chivalry/Mordhau
he looks so bland
if they figure out how to make combat against multiple enemies fun in the next one it'll be a masterpiece
sorry Todd
KCD 2 is gonna murder you for real this time
never finished it, combat was too clunky
Too bad. The game is full of neat shit and attention to detail.

Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 will be set in Italy several years after the events of KCD1 and may or may not include Henry as the protagonist.
>Italy
lol lmao
You may or may help forge a crown, as it were.
what crown though?
One that will require a strong will.
hmm
There may be some returning characters, but quite possibly not in the roles one might expect.
like?
A good master, a kind servant and maybe a wildcard.
The combat is going to similar to the original, but more streamlined, due to KCD 2 being more open to mod support on the steam workshop.
Oh nice it's time for leftoids to lose their minds because there are no blacks or strong womyn in their medieval central european game
chuds are going to be so angry when KCD2 has a black MC
will never happen
is it actually getting announced or are you making shit up?
probably the only good first person RPG released in the last decade
the clues point to it happening for real so lets hope it won't dissapoint
its going to be the fricking switch port
>Start game
>The entire plot revolves around a sword
>90% of the enemies use swords
>Swords have the most weapon types
>There is an entire sidequest about a legendary sword
>Swords have the most talents
>Swords have the most combos
>But they're the worst weapon BY FAR and equipping a mace or axe is infinitely superior
I also like his voice acting, he is definitely the best VA in the game.
i hope polearms and crossbows make it in
swords in real life are crap against armor unless you either mordhau or find a weakpoint.
Frick real life, dude. The game has magical potions and the ability to sleep to heal all of your wounds. The realism it has is more for atmosphere, but gameplay is more important. You don't put the most effort and work into the weapon type that is objectively the worst.
Speaking of maces
>decide to try doing mace training with Bernard because I have no skill in it
>take off my armor so it doesn't get damaged, wooden training weapons don't do damage anyway
>unbeknownst to me this is true for all training weapons except for the mace training weapons because it's just a fricking bludgeon
>Bernard beats me almost to death
>would have died after sparring if I didn't have medical supplies on me
T-thanks Bernard...
>Train your strength to 9 by fighting the trainer over and over
>Buy a mace
>Suddenly combat is relatively easy, also get your doggo to make group fights more tolerable
Obviously if you fight 3 or 4 on 1 it is still tough, but even 2v1s are pretty easy with your doggo. Also you can just use horse archery too, but meh, frick the bow.
predictions for the sequel?
in terms of
>story
>new mechanics/things to do/locations
>waifu targets
I assume they're moving past Henry, and doing a new main character, or even just "create your own character" like current RPG meta
alien invasion
nah it still be Henry and will propably be shortly before hussite wars or even during those, they might use time skips or something.
maybe a battle at Grunwald since it was originally in the first trailer for KCD but got cut cuz time and money
Theresa still
>new protagonist
>Theresa still
That harlot.
the devs were spotted searching through archives in Kuttenberg ( 2nd most important city in the Kingdom after Prague ) so it is speculated it will be set around there.
Radzig also died in there irl got killed by angry miners cuz taxes and ideology
Kuttenberg is far, far away, Kuttenberg is far, here I'll stay
I'd be very disappointed if I didn't get to play as Henry. His story is unresolved still. He had a character arc but it is literally setting up for a sequel starring him.
>KCD2
Never ever
Warhorse is a one hit wonder
At least the main dev makes leftoids seethe
>Download mod to show crosshair for the bow
>balance is immediately fricked to the point where it basically turns into a medieval serious sam game
It's annoying and gay without a cursor. They should have just given it a CoF Deus Ex style that way you cant circumvent low bow skill
It's easy as shit what are you talking about?
>mod game
>upset game is now affected
if only there was some way to avoid this conundrum
>Henry is still a character, just not the one we play as.
Probably the best solution, though I was hoping they would take the story someplace else entirely, like Germany or France.
KCD was originally planned as a trilogy of episodic games before they united the first two episodes into what is now KCD. But presumably they plan on making the next game episode 3. I'm also no sure they'd be able to keep up their autistic enthusiasm if they were setting a game somewhere other than their backyard.
>misses the entire point
Low IQ, I can't help you there man
>Henry is now a minor lord
>his dad is KWAB and sick
>Capon is now Rattay's kang
>Divish is dead, replaced by Stephanie and is under siege because no woman should ever be in charge
>Theresa has Henry's child
It's just people expecting/hoping it gets announced, nothing concrete.
there was a ''leak'' which pointed at 2024 release of game that could only be KCD 2 essentially.
for me, it's
>That scene after the credits
Legit the only time i've ever teared up at a video game
unfortunately for me the game glitched and played the subtitles for Johanka's trial (even though I don't even own that DLC) which completely brought me out of the scene
>No enemies to fight
>just run with the horse through an empty souless map
>not really an rpg
>combat is cool in paper but poorly executed
i really hope they put all the money into fixing this shit
>game not related
KCD is one of the worst games ever made and the game director is known nazi/russian stooge. Cringe.
true one of the dumbest people on twitter ive ever seen
I don't believe for a second that a Czech is a "Russian stooge", they are way too resentful.
Who?
KCD is one of the only pieces of modern media to actually understand the medieval mindset
Yeah it's great. I still absolutely love the prologue where you're just getting up to mischief with the lads.
no thanks, if I wanted to watch a bunch of cutscenes for several hours before I can finally play the game I'll go play MGSIV
they better not put anymore homosexual voice actor on part 2
where can KCD 2 realistically go
the story was never the main focus and it can't pull any punches while staying historical
so it can only be game mechanics improvements
Hoping more quest like helping father godwin. One of the best quest chain ever
