Yes, Steam version is the more advanced one with AI-Generation*, it seems like Stardock israeliteed epic.
*You need to be registered to use it, and the AI-Generated images gets sent to and curated by Stardock before they add them to the available images, so no Futa-Hitler-eating-black-infants.jpg for you.
they also israeliteed their own customers who bought game on epic and sold them integral part of base game as "dlc" which steam users got in one package for free.
I tried GC2 recently cause everyone seems to love and despite being Ultimate edition with like 15 years of patches it was janky as frick. A simple thing like a path your unit takes was color dark blue/violet line on black space background, you could barely see where the unit is going, not only that when you ended turn the screen would not automatically snap to units with orders so you had to manually do it to see what happened, if you wanted to leave various menus that game had you could not press ESC cause that brought up settings menu you had to click on leave button at the bottom of the screen. Civ4 which is a 1 year older fells like modern high budget, super polished behemoth of a game in comparison.

Lol, embarrassing, if this is not the proof that being published on Epic kills all the hype then i dont know what is
Havent played it yet but it looks like improved version of GC3, or more precisely it looks like GC3+ instead of a proper sequel.
Personally ill stick with MoO2
I played gc4 when it came out a few months ago, it was uninspired (and I liked previous ones) but the worst part was it was buggy and glitchy as frick. Half your buildings in the planet didn't even work. Tool tips and research pointed to shit that didn't exist and so on. Also the influence used to be cool but it's shit in this game.
I get a free sector for myself.
I can rush tech, farm rss and literally anything, except keep this sector only for myself. moronic AI will come and claim minor planets, build stations and etc.
I don't find how to block borders, stations don't stop them.
So how i can paint whole sector without war? Is spamming cultural stations near enemy stations will help?
>no game name in the title
I almost made another thread.
The only thing I remember about the series is pretty detailed ship editor, haven't touched in over a decade. Also stardock keeps pestering me about it and I'm too lazy to figure out why do they even have my email, pretty sure I used pirated windowblinds.
and most importantly
>no DLCs hell that eats your wallet
>no DLCs hell that eats your wallet
you're joking right? Have you seen how much DLC galciv3 got?
No, and most importantly is
>no moronic gimmick graphical effects requiring an 800$ GPU to run it at 40 frames per second
I haven't played one of these since 2. What's in the new games?
hexashit and other boardgame abortions straight out of nu-civ's playbook
update overhaul in a year
This game was out?
Yeah, on Epic because... I have no idea why.
Oh, so it's free then. How kind.
Wait is there a difference between the steam version and the one on Epic?

i get everything for free regardless.
There is something about e*ic abusers being able to get the game on steam via a link to Stardocks page.
Why on earth would anyone want to play anything other than Stellaris?
stellaris is kind of fricking trash tbh and I have the space itch.
Stellaris is liquid dog shit.
Why would anyone on earth want to play the bland toilet water nonsense that is Stellaris?

zoomer issue
no thats a basic programing design, moo2 felt more polished than this turd
he is right tho, it was jank back then and its jank now
Give me 3 reasons other than hexes and better graphics why I should Play GalCiv4 over GalCiv2.
Other than turn-based vs realtime with pause, how does it square up with Stellaris?
>STILL no space battles comparable to MoO2
Frick stardock

Is it good? What makes it better than GC2 and 3? 3 was a bit of a disappointment.

I haven't played since II, sell me on it.
How does it compare to Stellaris? Give it to me straight, no memes or brand warfare shit please.
You have better options for planetary invasions other than "DUH BIGGA NUMBA BEET DUH SMALLA NUMBAH"
That price tag is a bit much for this sort of game. I'll wait for a sale.
>No definite population number
>Even though they were present in Galciv2
Great way to kill the immersion.
im trying it right now and dont have a clue what im doing. so you dont just send colony ships everywhere?
Wasn't Galciv IV in early access for a decade?
Is it 1.0 now?

not buying it until the citizens have anything to do with the alien ai gen thing.
It's such a cool idea but it's actually worse than not having it bc it doesn't do shit if you're always choosing the same citizens.
