I'm saying I doubt what you're saying because they share nothing in common except for the fricking boomerang and the witch. If it was intended as a port EVEN IF IT WAS CANCELLED then I'd expect more stuff from ALttP to be present.

It's funny because if they conceptualized it as a parody they simultaneously made it the most melancholic and sentimental Zelda game, but yeah it also has some of the most bizarre and funny moments. I love it.
