every class feels very different so you'll probably go through a couple seasons before finding one that really clicks with you. What part of combat feels off to you? Movement? Protection? pve? pvp?
I got to lvl 20 once before I dropped the game, but I find myself coming back every so often to try it again. It's mostly the movement and combo system - I've always been shit at fighting games, but I'm also a MMO veteran, so the hodgepodge of the two systems is confusing
I don't think there's a single class in the game that feels truly fun until about level 56. I don't know how long ago you played but its real easy to get there now, classes will feel a lot better to play when you hit around that level and their movesets will click better
Pretty sure you're using your skills from the hotbar instead of trying to play the game as intended, check out, almost every skill has a hotkey or combination of buttons, use those.
i hope they fix this game's spaghetti code. apparently some people found out that elixirs add to the server lag in large scale due to sheer concentration of the insane amount of buffs running and adding to how many calculations per hit are happening on the fly. it's rly hard to get new people into node wars with shit like this

You're not experiencing the combat for what it really is until you have all of your skills maxed and have a general idea on how to play the class in the first place. If you're just mashing random buttons then yeah that's cool and fun, but there's more to the combat than that and you get rewarded for playing your class properly. However just mashing random skills is kind of how you have to play until you reach awakening and max all of your skills so you can actually do proper combos, movement chains and skill rotations. If you want to just test out a class then make a trial character, max out all of it's skills and fool around on dummies for a bit.
I'm sure they can find some kitbash way of mitigating a lot of the moronic nonsensical issues this game has, which I guess would of course introduce new issues and so on. yeah.... it's grim. feelsbad I wish we could get a bdo2.
PA has tried to fix FPS = DPS already and failed hard. There's pretty much no way they're gonna make any significant changes like that, especially seeing that their focus is on developing new titles instead.
I wouldn't be too shocked if PA eventually decides to focus on BDO more in the future and re-release the game as BDO2 or something similar to fix some of the more underlying issues, but even if that were the case, then that'd happen in like several years in the future and we would've known about it for ages in advance, so no, we're not getting any fixes.
Pretty much the most they could do is just fps cap the game as far as fps=dps, which would probably be extremely controversial and make a lot of people quit. Though as far as buffs lagging the frick out of the game, they could just condense them or something idk. They did it when they introduced cron meals and draughts/perfumes but that wasn't for the purpose of easing server lag during large scale. Now people are starting to step back into food and elixir rotations for large scale to maximize efficiency and the effects are noticeable among many other changes.
I saw someone bring up the idea of customizeable cron lunchboxes and more draught, which in itself is kind of a weird band-aid for a seemingly unrelated issue but not a bad idea in itself. Idk the whole game is just jank as frick right now, it's all so odd. >BDO2
Meh, I think the idea of the original game will be left behind with Crimson Desert. Idk what their stance on the game is now, whether they've made it an MMO or a single player, but I don't think it'll be anything like BDO philosophically, where pvp conflicts, politics and drama were meant to be a core aspect. Prob will be more like a dragon's dogma kind of game set in BDO's world which is what I've seem from the trailers so far. I don't count on an actual BDO2 MMORPG, where it's just the first game but it actually fricking works.

I'm not sure FPS capping itself would even be a solution. Like to what FPS would you limit the game? 60? That's just suicide even PA wouldn't commit. They can maybe change the game systems to make calculations easier for servers and that might be plausible to do, but it seems like a lot of work for an uncertain and questionable effect as it could frick up with so many other game systems.
As far as BDO2 goes, BDO is clearly a great cash cow for PA with at least some longevity for now with PA not being able to get anything else going, so if they were to fail to diversify, it could make perfect sense to double down on BDO as their main product and while doing so doesn't seem to be too popular in asiaticland, it's an upticking trend for live service games altogether and this one might be the ideal scenario to go for it. I agree that it's not too likely, but one can hope.

>but it seems like a lot of work for an uncertain and questionable effect as it could frick up with so many other game systems
Oh certainly, PA are the masters of creating unintended consequences for seemingly unrelated changes. The most recent change to pve iframes is a direct nerfs to classes who rely on damage from summons like sage, succ nova or awk witchard, since PA forgot that the summons for those classes are considered pve mobs lmao.
Another funny thing, take a zerk buddy and have him use a pot with some kind of hp per hit effect, get him to spin on a pack of mobs and you'll get a noticeable drop in fps. Do it without the pot and nothing really changes. However if they decided to change how on-hit effects are calculated this could introduce a whole new slurry of unrelated issues that could make or break classes. I really don't think they have a clue on how their own game works in a lot of aspects, and it kind of reminds me a lot of how Bungie handled Destiny. They are geniuses at coming up with bandaid fixes until the whole pile can't stick anymore and their hand is forced. I don't mind them having these kinds of learning experiences but they are too slow to communicate and take action. Something like the pve iframe having odd interactions with summons should be immediately addressed, but it will probably be months until they fix it.

An aside, but I have always found the foot dragging and woeful inability to respond from game devs to be so bizarre. As someone who works in high power industrial manufacturing it's outlandish to think there are products out there actively fricking with customers and their ability to keep operations running. Granted, our systems costs well into the tens of thousands of dollars...but so do some fricking BDO characters.
The idea you can allow any class or system to fall into a state of being that borders on untenable or would convince a customer (which is what we are) to DROP THE GAME ENTIRELY is fricking pathetic. The lack of accountability between customers and game developers is something I couldn't even begin to fathom in my own experiences. If a customer calls, says their unit is having issues and needs new parts or circuit boards we don't simply tell them "yeah lol, we'll get around to that maybe possibly eventually here's a five dollar discount coupon". I'd be fired. Meetings would be had. Apologies would go out. The problem would be solved within a week or two at most, supply chain and shipping times willing.
Whatever is driving this culture should be stamped out. Money? Frick off, the customer ALWAYS comes before the investor. The investor has to right to shut the frick up and pray the customer is happy with whatever input they have to offer to elevate the business. This idea that customers can be neglected, abused, preyed upon and overall disdained while putting up with a product of oscillating quality is not acceptable almost anywhere else to the extent it is in gaming.
Pearl Abyss doesn't have an excuse. They can clearly execute. Fix the game, actually fix it, and suddenly MAU attrition stops being such a goddamn mystery. Why can't the C-levels let the developers just create the game everyone deserves...
which race makes the best workers? was thinking goblin slaves sounds funny but not sure if it's worth the hassle vs giants. also would gobbos level fastest since more jobs/time?
succession musa is fun but I don't like the new blooming effect. it used to look like you were "throwing" cuts with your blade now its just a big gust of wind that blends in to the 6 other gust of wind attacks. who do i talk to about editing game files so I can revert it somehow
I've played BDO for a few years now. The new expansion is utterly pointless. More useless DP... Their idea of content is releasing new classes and seasons constantly.
Shit is fricking boring. Monsters are ap capped so your gains aren't felt. Pvp is dogshit 5 second kills. Trade system reboot also dogshit. These frickwits must have a 3 interns running the shop now.
Also Magnus was utterly the worst piece of shit I've ever done. PA can tongue my anus, I quit 3 weeks ago
>I'm really considering not upgrading tuvala accessories. It's annoying.
It's the easiest shit ever, this game literally throws failstacks at you. I still don't understand how people struggle with season gear. Especially you, since you have been playing this game for quite some time now.
This is just my second character. I've been playing for about five or six months. Guess I had a lot of luck with my first character because I didn't struggle that much. Even now I didn't struggle with the armor and the weapons, as they're all PEN, but the accessories are filtering me. I don't have that much time to grind the ores so I guess I'll just stay this way.
You get PEN Earrings/Rings as freebies and then you shoul be getting the PEN Capotia Nacklace/Belt as season rewards first, so you don't really need to get them in PEN Tuvala form.
>want to do the trade quest >item needed is out of stock for 7 days >guaranteed hike on trade item >it's out of stock for 7 days in two out of the three trade outposts in the region
This has to be the dumbest shit they've added so far instead of improving and making it easier to make silver they made it even worse.
Actively trading isn't even good for silver it all depends on several layers of rng, item has to get a hike, you need to find out if the hike is true, the items value has to be 100-150% to get some amount of silver out of it unless you want to wait several cycles but then the price can go up or down even without any rumor you also need to use a lot of energy, contribution and have alts at trade outposts to set it all up, logging in and checking rumors every 4 hours then ride around regions selling everything you bought in the previous cycle. The selling part is mostly afk but there's too much bullshit and effort required when you could just grind one hour and be done for the day.
Nah, they'll probably just abandon it like they did with harpooning in favor of pushing out more fotm classes to make the prospect of class balance that much further away.
Is there any table with all nodes and their cp cost with lodging and storage slots that isnt 5 years out of date?
I need to reorganize my CP usage and it's a pain trying to eyeball it from the map.
No, it's all outdated 'cause it's all dead irrelevant content that was powercrept by elvia two years ago.
It's already been determined. Anyone who has been playing this game for several years recognizes this as part of a pattern. >It's just how PA operates
Pit of Undying, Altar of Valtarra, Lakiaro, npc dating, pretty much anything to do with the ocean, Savage Rift, Altar of Blood, horse racing, need I go on? Things are rarely finished years after they've been released. It would be absurdly unusual for them to not leave trading dead.
>need I go on
Probably, seeing how everything mentioned is older than 2 years and pretty much all the mainline lifeskilling's been getting updates over recent times. The game obviously has a shitton of dead content with no updates, but lifeskilling is not one of them, so I'm not sure what's you're trying to suggest here. Trading might end up trash, but PA will make some changes to it.

Aside from gathering/cooking/hunting, It's pretty dead content. Barter/sailing is worse than ever and has been nerfed several times for no reason. Afk fishing used to be king afk income, now it's a joke especially after they killed archmap fishing with the most recent update to margoria. Once again, harpooning. Alchemy is forever a joke. Training is rng p2w trash. Farming exists solely for horse mats. I would consider worker empires a part of lifeskills and it's awfully neglected.
The cost of mastery gear compared to grinding gear is absurd considering how little lifeskilling makes in comparison. It's going to need a lot more depth to it to get more people to do it for enjoyment, if not for silver. Everybody hates the trade rework and PA isn't a stranger to throwing their arms up and saying "frick it". The trade rework was promised for two years, to see that this disaster made by some moron who doesn't play the game is what they could come up with in two whole fricking years isn't a good look no matter how much you cope about it.

Forgot to mention that lifeskillers haven't gotten any changes of real substance since like what, manos? That was like 2019. The central market quantity increase for buying and selling along with the magnus storage are the biggest buffs in recent times and those aren't even specifically for lifeskills. Admittedly I can't be too much of a doomer, and you do have a great point. After the region drops they very well may commit to a full rework of many of the lifeskills within the next two years since I believe they mentioned pulling back on how much content they would release after. All I can say is that I along with many other lifeskillers or ex-lifeskillers are looking forward to some very needed changes.

Killing mobs is a king and I'm pretty sure it's on purpose, but there have been massive and minor changes to pretty much all the lifeskills. The introduction of Artifacts and lightstones has been a blanket buff to quite everything, the crystals presets did quite a bit for my lifeskilling and PA's been showering us with lifeskill scrolls and gave us 1 TRI Manos accessary. With the new continent also come more changes to most lifeskills with the new crystals the least and gathering minigame, which should be a pretty massive deal. Now most lifeskills also give the exchange mats and have some version of dailies.
Training has been changed MASSIVELY in recent times. Changes to market pricing, dailies/mats, tier 6+ only wild horses, changes to exp, there's so fricking much in this lifeskill that's been going on in recent times. AFK Fishing got also buffed with the key buffs and on some degree also with the mass Relic summoning, the floats have been buffed, now we had the long-term fishing season event. Bartering has been pretty lackluster, but sailing's been changed to now give exp in shallow water and bartering exchanges have also been changed at least once in recent times. Processing also has had the stones unified.
Don't get me wrong, it's not like I have that much faith in PA, but PA's been doing tons of changes to the game and tweaking things a lot and whenever they release things nowadays they tend to make it at least somewhat appealable, whenever it works out is up for grabs, but that's kind of the whole point, trading might end up trash, but it's still somewhat undetermined.
How else am I going to free up CP for upgrading my worker empire, getting into farming and having some to spare for the new continent?
Lifeskilling is pretty comfy in this game with decent slaves.

I wish I enjoyed Guardian more, but the lack of movement compared to what I'm used to with Musa is very off-putting
Anyone got any tips? I haven't even been able to keep grinding up to level 60
I like awakening a lot, she's got a bit worse movement than others but it's good enough for me.
Only two movement combos I personally use are jump and right click, shift forward into either shift or w+f to get back into awakening and w+f then s+f to skip the cast time other than those the standard w+rmb, shift or w+f is enough for pack to pack. You also got some jumps, sturdy smite and w+q but I can't be bothered to use them myself.
For addons add attack speed to s+lmb for constant 27% extra attack speed and add movement speed to some other skill.
Is there any way I can make my character keep facing the camera when I use a skill? I want to take some screenshots mid-action but I can't spin the mouse and also time the screenshot fast enough
ctrl + U for screenshot mode. hold middle mouse button to move camera to keep your character facing the same direction. hold U to do slowmo. only works in safe zones
Unbelievable, they nerfed trading by basically 33% this patch instead of being able to buy 66 items now you can only buy 50(44) each reset.
Nodes having more than half their items locked which made a lot of rumors useless and how rng dependent the daily income is, trading the whole day checking the rumors and not even making 200 million and then in one reset with good rng it's 400 from a single region, already made me seethe but this is enough not going to bother with this shit anymore.
How do they even want you to use this lifeskill?
You can't buy low and hold since items gets locked, now you can't fill up the storage making it even worse to actively trade every reset and waiting several resets isn't worth doing because of the shit rng.
With just a few changes in the right direction it could've been great but they instantly fricked everything up like usual.
Not that many people care cause they took too long. Majority of lifeskillers already fricked off to other games, their chance to buff trading was lost when they created elvia without considering how it would affect the other methods of income.
they need to either nerf centaurs to make anything else worthwile for me to go to or buff everything else. There's such a dearth of meaningful money spots between 250-280 ap range. And centaurus is so boring
>250-280 ap range
are you sure you mean 250-280ap and not more like 200-250? because centaurs isn't the best after that in any way even if you use agris the entire time. Even at this point you can try gyffin upper with a party and hope that the rest of your party doesn't have trash gear.
Some other spots in that AP range are competitive with it, just not consistently so since they require a bit of RNG. I'd also say Jade is actually better for a lot of classes once you get the gear for it, which should be easy since the softcap is actually kinda low.
They need to give other spots something worth grinding for other than silver. It would be nice if each spot had a unique spot-themed costume you could grind like la orzeca. If there were gahaz, pirate, cadry, bashim, sausan, etc outfits I would grind those spots for 100 hours. It would solve the problem of there being a lack of variety in fashion especially for newer classes that don't have many outfits. Something, anything. If someone wants to grind waragon nest or elrics for 200 hours for a shiny title and progress towards a really cool weapon skin then the option should be there. There's not enough worthwhile loot in the game to pull people away from orcs/gyfin/hexe, everything is based on how much silver it can generate for you. It's kind of lacking the completionist/fashion aspect something like ESO/WoW/FFXIV have, I swear people play those games just to collect outfit pieces and people would do the same in BDO if it rewarded it. Nobody really cares about the arch map or compass anymore, even moreso when you consider the majority of the players who got them achieved it naturally when valencia was endgame. Treasure items have the potential to get people addicted to the game.
They could also go hard on party grind spots because they're actually decently enjoyable, and start thinking of some other forms of PvE other than grinding plain circles. I saw this post on the forums and loved every single idea
https://www.naeu.playblackdesert.com/en-US/Forum/ForumTopic/Detail?_topicNo=32652&_categoryNo=7&_sortType=1&_orderType=False&_pageNo=1&_pageSize=25&_tagList=11&_searchDay=0&_searchType=0&_processStatus=99&_forumListType=0
It's already like that, you're pretending that people even go to arsha to pvp anywhere except for gvgs at stars end beach, upper gyfin or orcs and even then arsha pvp is dead 20 hours of the day. Why do you care about player dispersal when you don't pvp?
Reddit ruins every game it touches.
>no argument
Post aos rank/gs/guild, or are you just a shitter who hides in marni realms for an hour and then logs off?
We have no choice, it's orcs/gyfin/hexe for the next 3 years. Not that it matters how little grind spots there are anyway since there are so many servers and also marni realm.
I got max gear on my season Woosa recently and I found I could do stars end pretty easily even though it says 260 ap requirement (247ap is what she's at). Is stars end just easy/the req lying or does this mean I could then potentially take my 270k main and then tag woosa and be able to do orcs camp?
Go on Youtube
Lookup "BDO"
It's the same two dozen braindead goobers taking up the spots every week.
None of the content is appealing nor helpful
It's all about " GAMBLING BAZILLIONS OF ACCESSORIES " bullshit
All of the helpful guides are 2 to 4 years old.
I noticed a lot of the PVP BDO community kind of acts like the fighting game community as opposed to typical MMO players in addition to the game sort of playing like a fighting game when it comes to PVP.
This game is bad for content, all bdo clip channels are just boring ass pen taps and pvp stuff and pvp stuff isn't interesting to watch. Little bits of the game died when the /vg/ guild died, when FML died and when Lacari quit.
I noticed a lot of the PVP BDO community kind of acts like the fighting game community as opposed to typical MMO players in addition to the game sort of playing like a fighting game when it comes to PVP.
You're not wrong at all, the BDO community is just about as salty as the fighting game community. There's no money in pvp so the only thing at stake is ego which causes a lot of shit talk, drama, politics, toxicity etc. Without it BDO pvp would die overnight lol.
How about the hundreds of pvp and grind videos with terrible songs overlaid on top of them with no included commentary. It's bad enough to have to watch other people play the game, but to be forced to listen to their crappy tastes in music makes it worse.
Yeah its always top 40 pop music or something, I mean you'd think power metal would at least pop up a few times cause its a fantasy game but I don't get the sense that BDO players actually care about that very much.
all of the bdo content is drama and hardly any of it is posted on youtube. nobody really cares about montages in bdo anymore cause nothing is new, everyone in the pvp community already knows who the best players are. the majority of the pvp community are boomers who say no shot no cap on god all the time and listen to rap and phonk and the only real pvp content is livestreamed on twitch, there isn't really much variety.
for example this is pretty much "content" in bdo. it's all obscure inside shit that you wouldn't understand unless you were involved in the pvp community. i imagine it makes zero fricking sense to people unfamiliar with the game/politics/homosexualry etc. basically bdo pvp is nothing without the drama
yeah bdo youtubers have god awful taste in music. nearly all are impossible to watch without muting. I actually love it when you find the rare one with no music and just game audio
Who is the most braindead class to grind 1 shot potion spots with? entering week 8 no manshaum piece I don't want to expend even 1 more brain cell on grinding here
Sorry. I meant to say a little bit more about what I was trying to go for. I'm thinking of going for C10 boss weapons, eventually going for C20, and avoiding TET/PEN Blackstars completely. Would that hurt PVE greatly? There aren't very many people who write about it, so it feels like a mystery to me.
You lose 16 hidden AP if you go for kzarka c10. Kzarka is mildly better for pvp, but if you're going for only PvE I would strongly go for the duo godyr and just smash j scrolls on an extra tet blackstar later for the extra 16 to 31 hidden ap. Use caphras on armor and the subweapon
Is the pass worth it or should I wait for better deals? It's 2800 with a 20% discount but idk. I do a lot of gathering so I'd like the llama but it's expensive
Log in
Do my daily grind at Thornwood forest with crap gear
All my crystals are cheap vendor crystals
Berserker troony rolls up and kills me
Who cares, lol. Got tons more stored in my crystal repository,
Keep penetrating his/her's rotation.
Berserker troon turns red, gives up, and fricks off.
Finally get the spot all to myself.
Pffft. Novice. Lol.
I've been doing almost exactly this at Manshaum. Here's the results of fricking with people over the past month: >83 encounters where both I and whoever was on the rotation (or arriving at it) become aware of each other and interaction begins >My gear is fine, but it's not good enough to take on anyone who can actively PvP with confidence >I bought a ghillie suit long ago and wear it out of habit. I can't say if it has any true psychological impact on people, however: >71 of the 83 encounters resulted in no response when approaching the other player - they simply spent a moment bewildered and then disappeared. By far the most common reaction from BDO players in the field is the spaghetti drop and going home to turn off the oven. >4 of the 83 encounters actually led to duels. >5 more of the encounters I was flagged on and forced to fight or run with no real dialogue throughout. >1 of the encounters I was asked to join an OnlyFans or be flagged on.
Generally speaking, people are fricking terrified or clueless when presented with someone who won't simply leave. The vast majority of the time it was like running into some NPC with a busted up routine. The turbo autist PvPers who did flag up were often really hostile in chat. I think popping scrolls turns some people into legitimate psychopaths.
>spaghetti drop and going home to turn off the oven
Kek it's so funny when If walk through someone's rotation without any intent on disturbing them and they just freeze up like a deer in headlights. They get so paranoid. On the other hand you have the active pvpers who, like you said, are extremely hostile and usually have macros they spam once they kill you. The turbo autists are typically the ones crying about how pvp is dead and how no one wants to do it anymore without realizing they're the dickheads chasing everyone away kek. They take even a simple presence as some sort of slight to their personal being, sometimes it's really funny, sometimes you can tell they are depressed irl and genuinely seem to hate the game and everyone in it more often than not.
Nowadays with Marni's Realm, guild channels and general diversification of grind spots there rarely is a need to engage in contests for spot. If you just care about killing the mobs, then there almost always is a more efficient alternative to contesting with other players, which kind of doubles as to why there's no point of trying to contest as trying to contest to begin with means the other person is likely going out of their way to innitiate this sort of a interaction, meaning that the point isn't the spot itself, but the interaction.
????
just buy it silly, go to the horse discord and wait for someone to post a peggy. why would you even put money into making your own dream horse lmfao just use the free shit they give out. I've made 6 doom horses this way and I just sell them.
>all of my savings >all of it
i literally dont even have a 10th of the cost for a peggy. i thought id be silly and get a peggy for dirt cheap by getting a low stack pop, but sunk cost pushed me to 31.
you think they'll ever add the damage numbers from the global lab client to live servers? game has gotten a lot of QoL things we never thought they'd give us in recent times. I think if people brought it up on the feedback forums they'd seriously consider it now
I wish RBF gave more stuff and we had another map. Not liquid silver but idk more dust, like 20 for a loss and maybe 50 for a win, bump the weekly up to like 500 dust I guess. Or the ability to convert red seals into more stuff like whale pots, draughts, 1 day kama/moon buffs for a high cost etc.
A rearranged Helms cave with capturable golems would be a pretty fun map.
Orwen is half elf, Corsair is half mermaid and Partigio's daughter, and Labreska had a human boyfriend and created Guardian after he disappeared (murdered by Drakania).
lol this shit is packed now. server hop after server hop and its 2-3 people grinding over each other to get elites now. Pretty based I hope they don't change it
It's legit still good as frick grinding over each other, me and a zerk were doing that for 2 hours last night and we each still made 21 despairs each and around 10k trash loot on a blue + agris, then we pvpd for a few hours. super agris efficient too. this spot is fun as frick, it's like centaurs but way more relaxing.
they might've accidentally stumbled onto a great idea here. A owpvp warzone with money making capability baked in is something the game always desperately needed. If they could incorporate the pvp into the actual grinding somehow too (like if you get a kill you get a loot buff, or get a damage increase on elites) this would be the most popular grind zone in the game.
Only downside I can see right now is that saunils is supposed to be a 270 zone and anyone actually near that gs is getting absolutely cucked out of the spot atm
>anyone actually near that gs is getting absolutely cucked out of the spot atm
Meh, if it were the only spot to get despairs I'd say yeah tone it down, but gearlets and pve players have pretty much the entire open world to choose from if they want to grind peacefully.
This will be super healthy for pvp if they don't nerf it, in a month it will be extremely contested, no one is going to get that full elite rotation to themselves without a fight, and people WILL fight. Saunils should be THE spot where you can get your bros, go gvg for a few hours and walk out with maybe 8-10 despairs from fighting over the mobs instead of just for the sake of pvp. The drop rate for despairs on commanders is so high that even with constant pvp around you, it'll still be worth it to pop a blue loot scroll and maybe even a tent buff if you can manage to grab some elite mobs. Even as a red player they can walk Since the entire zone is an elite rotation, it will heavily encourage people to wander off from the spawn point and fight over the elite mobs instead of camping node.
I think they should go full steam ahead and just convert the zone to the designated gvg/pvp spot, make it the next sausans or pirates. I don't want them to do anything too quickly, they should just ride it out and monitor the spot for a bit to see how the community is handling it. One of the biggest complaints about PVP is how any form of it is literally negative money and that owpvp is dying. This might be what the game needs to get people back into gvging.

>Even as a red player they can walk in and profit
fixed.
they should implement stricter ap caps to prevent things like this. you should never be able to 1 shot any area. you should be incentivized to do new spots your ap is capable of not smashing spots for low level players with 290 ap kutum
came back after a couple of years, grinded for a total of 30 minutes, and accepted that afk lifeskilling will be the only way i get silver in this game because the unmatched boredom of grinding at stars end going to kill me. Whats the most profitable afk lifeskill?
hunting is big money
[...]
290 kutum players are farming cups and making 800m-1b/hr at orcs. real tuvala timmies fresh out of season are making like 500m tops at centaurs. more ap caps at centaurs wouldn't do much at all. now if you said that orcs needs a more strict ap cap, then yeah I'd agree with you. Orcs should be like 650m tops to incentivize people to move on to other regions once they finish their cups. Instead of being a temporary stopgap, it's pretty much orcs forever until hexe unless you're going after debos or the merchant ring. When you can make 1b/hr at orcs it makes it pretty hard for PA to buff other spots and encourage people to move on, and feel like they're progressing through the grind spots, instead of chasing luxuries when they're bored of printing silver at orcs.
Did they nerf cooking? Cant find any cooking utensils on market. >fishing
should i use triple float or balenos? >hunting
huh?

would it be better to save for a tet disto to replace the so I can do orcs faster or take the time to finish penning + caphrasing the armor first? having tried orcs I dont feel like I can die there with buffs unless I make multiple mistakes in a row, but I went and tried a few other 280 ap spots in winter region and basic mobs cut through me like paper.
also I'm like 2 weeks away from Pen-ing the jetina ring and i've been waiting on vell's preorder for like a month.
you don't need distos where you're at. finish ap/dp journals if you haven't, rush duo fallen god while waiting for pen acc and you should have the ap/dp for comfy orcs. after that, pen the helm/gloves and then rush duo labreska. c4 pen gloves/boots, go for double tet distos then c10 gloves for next expansion and c9 boots. do the pen helm/gloves the free way btw, enhancing for pen boss gear is a waste of time and good stacks.
Good on you, inf pots are so fricking comfy aaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh. I put it off for a whole year because I hate manshaum that much and the tanning part is dogshit but funnily enough I got the tanning piece on my 21st pity 🙂
I never got the full piece for any of my pots besides the tanning one and sherekhan. Tshira was generous to me though, I was getting 3-4 rings per hour when I farmed there. I didn't get a single ruins ring from blood wolves in 100 pity pieces :/
I was fortunate in that I managed to get through all of Tshira and most of Manashaum (about 70 pity) before I was booted to normal servers. The tear dropped at 80, though I found over the past two weeks the spot hasn't been that contested. Like Tshira, the birds took all 100 pity pieces, but my energy pool and a reserve of a lot of pots meant I finished in about 10 hours.
Completely worth the effort. I simply do not have mana issues anymore, it's not even a thought that registers.
None of those spots are very contested anymore thankfully. Definitely worth the effort though, not having to ever think about repotting ever again is so nice.
>pitied my way through all three pieces of health pot >barely halfway through manshaum pity and hating every second of it
My class isn't particularly mana-heavy so I'm good to stop at just one part for the mana pot, yeah? I hate Tshira as a grind spot and the Navarn piece can frick right off even after the buffs.
zero reason not to do it, it's easier than ever. manshaum is the only dogshit spot since it requires a lot of moving. tshira is pretty fun and gives a lot of rings. the navarn piece is so easy now, it's the least intensive and fastest piece. I just watched movies while grinding it
Maybe it's my class (Ranger) or a strange idiosyncrasy... I found Manshaums to be the least painful out of the bunch. Tshira was generous with all the rings and good in that regard. Still, I was finding the clear at Manshas much smoother. Navarran sucks, just do it. It's going to hang there like an albatross until it's done. It only costs time and some willpower.
Aside from black desert and black desert mobile, pearl abyss upcoming games, such as crimson desert, plan 8 and doke V, nothing has ever come out yet. Frankly, i don't even know if these games exist aside from trailers. We haven't seen anything really. Are they understaffed? Small company please understand meme, or something?
I'm curious too, it's been a while since they announced Crimson Desert and the likes, but only DokeV ever got any trailers while Shadow Arena died in the ass due to some serious mismanagement. Whether these would've actually been any good one is one thing but did they just bite off more than they could chew?
The shit english translation from the early days made me give up on caring about the game's lore/story, but sometimes I catch glimpses here and there these days when mashing R through something and it seems interesting. I just did the crows nest questline for the fughar journal dp and I guess Patrigio can own people's souls and make them fight forever in some kind of eternal anime tournament arc? I thought he just gave you shitty outdated gear in exchange for energy
She's pretty meh. Low mobility, extremely long cast times, lackluster protection. Magic Lighthouse is kind of neat, but the cooldown on it is still way too long at times. 12s or fewer with same or longer duration and only one being active at most would go a fairly long way in quality of life.
She's amazing in endgame spots. Ash, Quint, Crypt, and Gyfin Underground one of her specs is top 3. Only Woosa can really contend with her at slow spots and Witch is the uncontested queen of Crypt. You're basically throwing if you don't spend money to alt her there.

She's good at ash cuz of the red orb exploit. Other than that I'd give her an A+. Been a while since anyone said succ witch was bad in pve, she's just not braindead low apm while most people would rather just tag woosa/maegu/succ zerk for gyfin or quint or take the marginal trash loot loss and chill on awk. Maegu better at crypt btw. nerf pls
Ranger or Sorc for next season?
I levelled up a Witch this season and had fun. I want to tap into a high apm class that has satisfying combos. Ranger's Awakening seems super cool and I can get down with a ranged playstyle. However, Sorc just seems fricking cool
awk ranger is like 95% melee, only uses her bow for the iframe and ccs. not very high apm anymore imo, reboot made her braindead now she only has stam issues to contend with. succ sorc is a sleeper class imo, pretty high apm. reboot made awk sorc braindead in pvp and she's not very good in pve.
Ranger is my go to, but not necessarily a class I recommend. It's not overpowered, has slightly odd movement patterns, deals with stamina exhaustion and despite having many options in bow stance will essentially only ever use shotgun in practical application.
It's a fun class and I keep it as my main, mostly out of habit. It's one of those you either click with the class or you don't scenarios. It's not meta, that's for sure.
Appreciate the feedback! I was looking forward to the new season to level up a character because I find it find chill, but maybe I'll make another Wtich? I really like Witch. Or Just see if I click with a Ranger/Sorc or another class
Try every class you're interested in. If you really do want high apm, go for succ sorc. Very worth learning atm.
wtf why does no one mention there's a journal that gives 600 hp when they bring up the ap dp journals 600 hp seems significant for pvp no? does this also apply in Solare/T1 NWs?
You should be doing all of the journals anyway.
Lies. PvPers have a vested interest in having others operating in a low information state. PvE players are typically completionist in nature and will make entire guides on how to do inane shit. A PvP player will laugh and you and call you bad for not knowing a system and mechanic. That's not just BDO, that's how competition works almost everywhere. You bet your sweet ass your opponent would love for you to have 600 less HP.
Pvpers talk a lot of shit but they will be the first ones to reach out and give you advice if you ask in BA and actually try learning pvp.

>having the money to buy upgrades
what the frick are you guys doing? i got 250 ap, and am trying to raise my lifeskill stats, but my funding is at an all time low. share your secrets my compatriots
I just hop around different classes, it's no biggie. Typically if I want to try a new class and don't want to untag my current tag I make a season character and farm map/compass on it, then when I want to try another class without untagging then that's when I timepiece. I do every season so I have multiple pen tuvala sets
Agreed. I appreciate niche or slightly gimmicky mechanics that have rewarding payoffs, but that's just OCD-tier "press button for BONUS SPIN!!!" vibes.
Get started on the Magnus questline which gives a free piece of pen boss gear (that you should use on Red Nose armor) while you wait for the next season to hit, then make a new character and follow the season objectives. You'll walk out the other side with a full set of tuvala gear that's slightly better than tri boss gear, a single piece of which can be swapped for a tet boss piece/weapon after the season is over. End of season rewards also include a free pen capotia neck/ring/belt/earring.
If nothing else look into the Jetina guaranteed pen accessory which will take a couple months' worth of grind dailies.
Since your gear looks rather light I'll assume you have plenty of energy and contribution to get along with a fair few quests still available. You've got a long road in terms of gear and your timing is slightly unfortunate in that the current season is ending.
Like the other anon I'd advocate to take it easy until the next season, which is a set of special servers for leveling new characters (quickly, with lots of assistance). The game offers a lot of catch-up mechanics. The best thing you can do is at least log in every day, grab the rewards and spend a little time progressing towards some day where you reach around 240AP/300DP. It's basically guaranteed if you go the seasonal server route.
Oh god that feels so long ago. Yeah start season, you will be extremely surprised at how much easier this game is. Guess what? Silver doesn't have weight anymore. Guess what else? You don't have to park a character at the marketplace manager and interrupt your grind to use the marketplace anymore. The old trash bidding system got canned and the new one is fire and forget. Game is very streamlined now to the point where you aren't going to feel strapped on inventory slots and weight, even on new characters. No more feeling forced to enhance gear to progress, it's common for people to never touch the enhancement system after finishing the season.
Oh yeah, btw grinding skill points is OUT and grinding to 61 is easy peasy. No more going to polly forest for hours, you are pretty much set on SP right out the gate.
Preorder PEN Blackstar Awk weapon? I'm about 60B off and the last one sold a few months ago. Is it likely someone will eventually fill the order by the draw of such a huge instant ROI? Seems like not many move.
anyone want to start a guild on NA? could just start one for just casual players or just people who need a group. use this post as a gauge of interest.

Game looks insanely good, how is the new player experience? can I play it purely pve and just whacking mob while making my character cool or pretty? I don't like pvp
>how is the new player experience
Depends. PA's been trying to make the game to cater to new players for years by now and it shows. For new players you really want to play season and if you're patient you can pick the game up either like 90% off or for free eventually. >can I play it purely pve
That's pretty much the whole game. While there is world PvP, it's pretty much dead on normal servers and doesn't exist on servers for neww players and the rest of the PvP content is purely optional. >making my character cool or pretty
People seem to enjoy BDO for that aspect, though it's kind of overblown in my opinion.
how's the game loop? is it a game where you just kill x monsters or do whatever you want like guild wars 2? I played GW2 mostly for like 5 years and used to that system
There's tons of ways to progress and things to do, though the most general ones boil to getting silver and then spending silver to acquire things you want to get and the most common way of getting silver is killing mobs in circles in the open world, but that's just a generalization.
how about drip? are costumes premium only or you can grind money to buy them by converting or buy from others?
what's the catch of this game? things look too good to be true so far
The catch is essentially found in the company's name: >Pearl Abyss
I do not want to go around lambasting a company for their cash shop practices because BDO is simply not one of the worst offenders in a sea of predatory dealers. However, you're going to find ignoring the cash shop is nothing short of a test of will, patience and one's ability to accept diminished convenience.
The game will ensure you have plenty of ways to catch up and even a handful of ways to acquire some drip. If you really want to go all the way with things you're going to end up swiping though. All that said, it's one of the few instances where you can experience more than enough of the game to know if it's worthwhile to you. For me, it was and has been. For you, it might be a non-starter. Whatever the case, there are a frick ton of costumes across the many characters.

Well, you get some not-very popular costumes by doing main story on each character and there are like 3 all-class costume sets from some grinds and I think one quest for Shai outfit and that's kind of it, rest is locked behind cash shop and it's not too easy to buy them for in-game currencies as they all tend to be gobbled by players trying to melt them for crons, though PA's been giving away costume boxes fairly regularly in recent times (like once per 1-2 months?), but you don't get really to choose what you get.
Apart from that the catch would probably be the layers upon layers of monetization of multiple systems. Things like gacha fairy rolls, maids, inventory slots, weight, 3 separate subscription buffs, game passes, P2W Tent, autoloot pets, buying in-game currency with cash, paid costumes giving in-game benefits and the fricking flutes.
Effects of most of these have been diminshed over time and you get drip-fed most of these, but they still exist and affect the game. That being said most of these are a one-time purchase and the best way of getting in-game currency is either playing or getting a pilot, so in the long run you're likely to spend less on the game than if you were playing a subscription-based MMO, but that still depends.
Either way I'd claim that the value return on the game is exceptional, especially if you just go with the route of waiting for a promotion to get it for free.
so I assume money mostly come from grinding mobs for hours? how about group pve like dungeons or raids?
do I need to care about the story?

Some spots are group spots and there's a dungeon with a decent weeklies, but I avoid it like the plague. There are also world bosses, but that's pretty much a solo activity. I've been playing for years and know pretty much nothing about the story, I just notice that some in-game things share the same name.

I don't think bdo is that bad with the pearl shop anymore. I spent more on gw2 just for expansions + LW. meanwhile I got everything I have in BDO on a serious discount, bought all of my pets and costumes from mp. Inv slots and weight are irrelevant for grinding now and so are the lifestyle costumes for lifeskills. Ghillie is useless now too which was the primary complaint regarding p2w. Buying and selling or melting costumes is such awful value for your money that it's not even advised, if it ever was. The real p2w has always been pinoying or account buying which is a given in any mmo. Wow is more p2w since you can straight up buy endgame gear, legally, trading wow tokens for raid carries for a few hundred bucks imo. If people could just snap their fingers and get carried to hardcopy for that price I would say yeah bdo is p2w.

Actually I wanna say the real p2w is fps. If you get major fps drops during combat you're pretty much mincemeat against the guy who can see and react to your gaps in real time while you're playing slideshow stutter mode, especially against blockjump classes. With low fps it's just harder to react both offensively and defensively. When I got my new gpu/cpu I could literally see peoples stutters or if they were sub-80 fps and they're way easier to fight.
As far as the fairy system, I got my cheer V for free by sprouting and releasing fairies over and over again. Feathery steps would be nice but frick that cringe I'm never giving PA money for that bullshit system.

Believe me, I was downplaying the pearl shop because I don't think it should stop someone from experiencing all the new player experience and generalized catch-up mechanics the game offers by simply logging in and playing. I think It's best practice to just let someone know they're probably going to spend at least some cash on the shop even if only to grab some of the most utility and functionality.

I'd leave it at maids on sale, tent on sale + coupon, value packs when you need them I guess. Pets and costumes from MP unless it's a pearl only costume and you really want it. I'd never recommend weight or inv slots until far later in the game when a newbie has truly decided what they want to main. The importance of the vp has been reduced to its extra silver collection from mp, but if you're patient you can just mass collect everything with a 1 day loyalty, which is what I do. Kama and old moon are memes and unnecessary, 20% drop rate is literally nothing, not worth a monthly subscription fee. Horse flute is an extreme luxury, I hard rerolled off of my character with one a year ago and I hardly miss it. This is all assuming they're NA btw, I hear EU is fricked on costumes and pets from the mp.

Haven't played since 2018, how's the game economy now? I'm interested on why you said inv slots, weight, and ghillie/lifeskill costumes are irrelevant? what changed?
What should I expect if I just want to level different girls and dress them up?
Anonymous
>inv slots >weight
they reduced the weight of pots by like half. trash loot weighs less, silver doesn't weigh anything anymore, reduced the amount of shit items you get from grinding so your inventory isn't clogged up after 15 minutes anymore. weight and inv slots aren't really important anymore, it's a luxury instead of something that will make your grind a total pain in the ass. >ghillie
instead of obscuring your nametag it renames it to "Unknown Adventurer" so you're not literally fricking invisible in a grassy colored ghillie anymore >lifeskill costumes
mastery and sheeeit >What should I expect if I just want to level different girls and dress them up?
the fashion in this game still sucks ass, but people regularly sell costumes that are on sale. I have multiple outfits on every character I have, just takes patience and grabbing whatever goes on sale. if you want something specific and don't want to wait for a sale then you'll have to pearl up. personally I PO whatever is on sale even if I think I might not play that class anytime soon.

There's a dedicated player catchup system that provides a bit of direction, but the UI might be overwhelming for a start especially. Most of your important stats in BDO come from your gear; typically a new player plays and grinds during a 'season' for materials that exclusively work with a certain series of gear, of which they can later graduate with and exchange them to get their 'true' off-season equivalents or a version that can be upgraded deterministically with a ton of resources - instead of normally using the game's notorious enhancement system.
From there, the biggest simplification of progression is grinding for a ton of silver to get better gear to grind harder places, and so on. Of course, there's many other aspects of your character/family that can be improvised. Some permanent sources of increasing AP/DP require going out of your way for, and the game map begins unrevealed.
how's the game loop? is it a game where you just kill x monsters or do whatever you want like guild wars 2? I played GW2 mostly for like 5 years and used to that system
>how's the game loop?
Go to a grind spot with mobs you can kill reliably, activate buffs and grind for an hour or so, and then sell vendor trash and other drops. Otherwise you can do life skills in which the loop to get silver or something else useful is typically going to be less hectic. Grind spots once you get past a certain level can be contested by other players, the likeliness of getting PK'd is slim given the consequences but it depends on the spot. Regardless, BDO is probably one of the few MMOs left where PvP actually has some relevance, there's node wars for bigger scale PvP fights on top of other odd venues to do it in without malus.
There are several non-combat activities that can be used to make silver or get materials from that have some mechanics behind them, on top of a worker empire system to get more shit, but the questing in the game is pretty ass otherwise.
The game looks like pic related, ad you can see far away objects like trees looks very bad, they are weird here are my settings:

No I bought it. I'm trying to find the next thing to exploit and I'm just afk training during the event. I hate RNG and only roll on shit that's free on impossible to get otherwise
It's just releasing content for the sake of content. It's clearly a money/labour saving measure by using semi-random scrapped work that wouldn't be used otherwise. I don't like it either, but I get why it exists and not pushing to do it more than once per family makes it almost reasonable, though the idea of releasing something that didn't get in, because it wasn't good enough is asinine on its face.
they're so fricking boring. i hate boring ass elvia serendia so much. the only spot there worth grinding for anything other than shards is orcs. i just want to finish these last 60 shards and go back to lower gyfin and jade. frick these awful ugly spots, even murrowak is more enjoyable >bloody
dogshit tier spot literally got nerfed into being worse than nagas for silver and worse than bandits for shards. it's a shame what they did to it.
I'm going to kill the asiatics over at Pearl Abyss. Why the frick can I not change my region without buying another copy of the game and using a VPN?
I DON'T WANT TO PLAY WITH BRAZILIAN AND SPANISH Black folk WITH A SHITTY MACHINE TRANSLATED PORTUGUESE VERSION OF THE ALREADY MACHINE TRANSLATED ENGLISH VERSION, FRICK.
Different pearl shop prices and noone wants to pay with South Americans in NA. BRs ruining NA communities in WoW and FFXIV makes me glad I don't have to deal with you guys in BDO.
Primal datacenter's shit party finders early on. BRs and French killed groups and pushed people to migrate until the boom happened and kind of buried them with English speakers.
NA WoW servers used to (haven't played recently) get queued with servers like Nemesis which is notorious for having shit players. It hurt battlegrounds especially hard because they had no concept of teamwork.
Exactly, those are the kind of morons I have to deal with now. At least I can patch the game so it's in english, but holy shit... I really don't wanna interact with fricking SPANISH Black folk. Brazilians I can deal with since at least we speak the same language, but hispanics are even worse than the average MMO playing braziloid monkey.
Will I get tiered with BR's If I buy the game on steam?
Also Im thinking about moving back into the game(last time I played was on beta) is the sexy mods still working?

Nice, is undertow still the best place to find them?
>try game >spend 1 hour making huge breasts ninja anime girl >ready for grand adventure >story is just oneshotting trash mobs and autorun from npc to npc >don't even realize there are different combos because they all get oneshot anyway >story isn't even interesting
this is brainrot shit, how long is the main story? when does the game get good? I beat the red nose goblin boss and so far I have felt zero hook about the gameplay
Sadly with all the free stuff you get and how they've revamped the new player experience you're stuck in one-shot city for now and you won't unlock the full combo of your class until 59-60 however by 56 you will get more options. You can try out fully leveled classes in the trial tab in character selection.
Don't remember if new players can start in the winter region but that one gives you a quick recap of the story so far, has less fighting but more talking and levels you up faster.
BDO is entirely a PVP game. anyone that says otherwise is wrong. the entire objective is nothing other than gearing up over months/years to pvp on equal footing along all the other maxed out idiots. If that isn't for you then play something else. BDO isn't for the story, I feel bad for morons that only experience gameplay through movie cutscenes. if that is you then give up before you waist your time
It's disingenuous to call it a PvP game when most players ignore it and PA barely add any content for PvP the focus is on PvE. The devs laughed when a westerner asked for more red player contents during a Heidel ball.
>it's a pvp game >but grind 1k+ hours first >but do everything to kill open world pvp >and do everything to make sure node wars and siege aren't good money >and remove shadow arena because muh focus on pve bullshit >and make sure guild politics never get too out of control >and trash the 10v10 mode idea they had >and take ages to bring AoS back around >and rarely run any tournaments >and have no idea how the pvp in their game even works >and do the shittiest most moronic fricking balance changes imaginable >and do everything they can to kill pvp build variety >and have zero dev involvement/support for the pvp community/culture
haha nice pvp game
>BDO is entirely a PVP game.
No. PvP is there as another means of sunk cost. >Hey anon, wanna sit around for two years running in circles just so you can hang out with some other giga autists who b***h and moan about the mountain of commitment they're sitting upon.
PvP is an always will be the final card left in end-game MMO. When every rotation has been done, every boss killed, every treasure piece obtained, all kinds of mounts and vehicles secured, endless amounts of drip oozing off your character - then what? Choices are not great, many can just quit, but then you have those who stick around and use all that pixel power to poke other players and make their peepee tingle.
What you are talking about as "entirely" is in actuality an afterthought in every MMO and is most certainly not the foundational element of BDO. That's grinding. Followed closely by the pearl shop and preying on addictive tendencies. The PvP is BDO is passable in some situations, but the cracks show with any amount of investigation which other anons have basically already outlined. So no, BDO is a grindfest with PvP-enabled, which can easily be ignored in favor of the grind.
BDO is entirely a pvp game. anyone that says otherwise is wrong. the entire objective is to log in and queue for arena of solare until they remove it again for no fricking reason and then uninstall until they bring it back
last season proved that nobody really gives a frick about pvp in this game. introducing maegu and nerfing/buffing classes in the middle of an aos season was the most moronic shit they've done in years
They really fricked up by buffing succ sage and allowing maegu to participate in AoS mid season. Here is to hoping they get awakening for both woosa/maegu and tuning them up before releasing AoS lest they make top 100 not important again.

I really hate that so many players abused Maegu or even other classes like their real main, just playing a few games with 70+% winrate just to boost themselfs up in the leaderboard.
For example the #1 DK in EU was barely a DK player. Same goes for the #3 Tamer.
you can get a tier 10 horse and flex on poorgays, and a big boat, but thats about it. you can only see armor if you dont have costumes equipped, so no real point in rare gear. however, really rare drops from enemies are playerbound, and you can show it off in server chat so i guess theres that.
Nouver outfit is expensive as frick (silver) and barely anyone has it
La Orzeca outfit is locked to entirely true endgame grinders
T10 horses
Merchant Ring
Compass
I have no idea how to play witchard in RBF. Maybe I underestimated how challenging the class is. Definitely harder than Zerker, Drak, Striker, Ranger, Archer, and Guardian
>1 item bought >Think it's the Corsair Kibelius >It's a single rough sapphire
There were 3 preorders and I lost the roulette twice in the past two weeks. Hopefully I can get it before the sale is over.
frick it feels like black desert is actually dying and the devs are focused on single player instanced story narrative content instead of figuring out how to make the game feel like an mmo :~~*~~* i don't want bdo to die noooooooo
are you that desperate to bump the thread? the game is doing fine and has quite a lot of active players it's not dying yet. >make the game feel like an mmo
this is a singleplayer grinding game with annoying autists interrupting your grind once in a while. what kind of content do you want?
lets discuss how many things there are that are so obscure but actually important >tier 5 pets >nouverkant armor set
i learned about these two from server chat, but apparently theres a bunch of other stuff that was added over the years that almost nobody talks about. anyone got any others?
Like that anon, you too can be a part of the BIGGEST and BEST guild on /vm/. We've seen a 100% increase in membership in the last few days. Now's your chance to embrace FOMO, hop on the bandwagon and most importantly overcome your crippling social anxiety!
This is the most wrong anyone has ever been. Mae and Musa are siege viable because they can spam forward F and survive. Mystic has a limited dash, shit AOE, and is only good as a CC bot unless it's 1v1.
>Mystic has a limited dash
A good succ mystic can keep up with an awk nova on excel, musa can't keep up without tiger blade because lol blader stam. She's fast as frick with reliable iframes, can out-stam both blader classes, has a grab and can perma slow. Succ mystic literally rapes bladers any day of the week and can do the same thing they can in nw/siege. Succ mystics outfrag musas often, only thing is that she's not maegu and not as easy as awk musa.
Magnus single handedly killed all my motivation to play this game
Holy fricking shit
Who's the fricking worthless subhuman that thought this would be a good idea
it has to be fricking nepotism
it HAS to be
more like filtered by the asiatic Black person hired through nepotism that thought "why don't we ignore our selling point (the fricking character mechanics and how fluid they are) and instead make morons crouch and walk around with a fricking pearl while some moronic glitched out shit detects them and forces them to restart"?
i literally got stuck early on because the fricking door closed and i glitched BACK into the previous room
seriously
make me grind 50k mobs instead of this shit
or why don't we put you in a fricking shit looking island so you can waste your time either pressing R on everything or waiting the slow Black personlicious ass firefly guide you to the area we want you to press R on anyway
wow what a fricking amazing quest, it's so much better than "grind 10 mobs" or "fetch this item for me" from every other mmo, it's so unique! look, you're building a raft woooooaah!!!!
it doesn't appeal to the only good point this game has, the grinding
it doesn't appeal to people interested in the story, there is none
it doesn't appeal to people that want puzzles, because the frickign quest itself tells the location of the shit
it doesnt appeal to stealth fans, crouching and avoiding a gigantic red circle isn't what i call "good stealth gameplay"
who does this appeal to?
would anyone ever touch this shit if it didnt give free stuff?
people wont touch me EVEN WITH the free fricking PEN
not to mention the fricking graphics are completely fricked if you dont play on remastered
and remastered is fricking dogshit because it feels like you spread vaseline over your fricking screen
frick yes i got filtered, filtered by being physically unable to play the equivalent of eating shit
remember when the game released? 500 morons at sausans, silver had weight, no fricking awakening, literally impossible to grind effectively as f2p because no pets/maids
went through all that, ate all that fricking shit with a smile
but i'm not fricking playing 140 quests of "crouch around these mobs" and "press R at the location we tell you" while enduring moronic rubberbanding and shit resetting/glitching out every fricking 5 minutes
ive played a lot of games, but this is the first time ive ever seen something like that
what's next? a fricking train simulator quest that gives free shit while you roleplay as the fricking conductor? with you character glitching out of the moving train and forcing you to suddenly reset of course, that's the secret spice
i already thought that lakiaros or whatever the shit its called was moronic but i could see that someone at least tried out the fricking thing before sending it to live, i dont think anyone tried out this dogshit questline
this is a fricking asiatic grinder, let me fricking spin around the mobs and shut the frick up
the story is shit, every other fricking mechanic is either shit, obsolete or shit AND obsolete
even pvp is dogshit but the combat flows so well i dont really care
is it actually? tell me more, how much do you usually get and how much do you spend time there? is it a daily thing or can I do it over and over again?
The devs used to speak often on how their philosophy of open world and forcing players to butt heads over resources affected all of their decisions, but as of lately they seem intent on phasing that idea out, especially considering how little gvgs and open world pvp happen and how many changes have been made to allow an uninterrupted grind. Despite this, they seem almost afraid to add any kind of repeatable instanced group pve stuff that players can sink their teeth into and make decent money on top. I don't fully understand, since if people want to make good money playing alone then the option would never be taken away, and the threat of pvp in the open world is nearly nonexistent which makes the idea of open world grind spots redundant.
Just seems weird that the devs cling onto solo grind spots being the "main" combat related content when there's so much more they could do with BDO combat. The new region has zero open world aspects regarding combat so clearly they're not TOO shy on creating combat related content that isn't pertained to grinding open world circles.
I'm not for phasing out open world grind spots but the devs have blatantly shied away from their original doctrine and no longer seem so unkeen to make instanced stuff. I think they're doing a pretty ok job of proving they can do just a little bit more with the AI in instanced content than they can in open world grind spots, there's potential in this as seen with the dungeons. Maybe later this year or next year savage rift and altar of blood will return heavily reworked, so that it functions more like a PSO mission I guess, something you can run repeatedly but not be obligated to complete a full hour. Something where they can experiment a little more with spontaneous group pve and mob/boss mechanics as to not be as simple as banging your head against a world boss. Idk thanks for reading my blog mulling over the future of bdo god I love this game so much
I keep returning to BDO when I remember how great the combat and visuals are.
But then I get reminded how awful the progression is and drop it again.
How can so many people just be okay with the way it works?
I'm talking about how you can spend days playing the game and get no closer to making your character stronger in any way. >only several "endgame" equipment pieces which you can get by being RNG blessed or by hoarding tons of silver >monsters mostly drop thing for selling or things you need for enhancing >enhancing takes too much time and/or silver spent with a chance get absolutely nothing or even set you back >lifeskilling, like many other things in the game, is fun if you like the process, but unless you're optimizing the hell out of it you're barely doing any progress
I've been thinking about playing BD mobile out of the frustration. But it's on the opposite end of the stick, from what I understand.
There are tons of useful loot, you have to change your equipment as you progress, your stats grow a little by doing absolutely everything, exactly what I want from BDO. But the game does everything for you.
And you can't even enjoy the "building" of your character to see the difference in performance. Because the build nuances are nonexistent. You either deal big numbers or you deal slightly lower numbers.
Even Succ and Awakening are separated as different character classes from level 1.
>okay with the way it works?
Much like local government, I can either hope and try to promote change or become so fed up by all the bullshit that I toss a for sale sign on my lot and start searching for something new. People can scream from the rooftops about how screwy BDO's progression is - and Pearl Abyss will respond as a company does, with a "compromise" that calms the players and ensures profitability continues.
Why do you think the enhancing system is so punishing? Because, it makes it incredibly costly and tedious, if not impossible, to ever achieve "all" your goals. Long-term retention, sunk-cost and the nature of addiction all play a role. Rat races like BDO are manufactured to prey upon your desire to just get it the frick over with. And once you do, what do you have? Oh right, only a small handful of people who made the same mistake you did. Isolating yourself from the rest of the playerbase. You "win" by feeding the machine.
Stop obsessing over progression. Enjoy yourself, come and go as you please. It's not worth trying to untangle the knot of profits and MAU weighed against quality gameplay and passionately created content. This is nothing shocking or new and not unique to BDO.
>How can so many people just be okay with the way it works?
just like real life the people who are "okay with the way it works" are either old-money who are grandfathered in or are new-money delusional enough to think they can reach the upper echelons. The rest (AoSchads) see the system for the bullshit it is and just extract what they enjoy from it without letting it break them. The picosecond I stop having fun (AoS season is over) i uninstall and immediately stop thinking about bdo.
I stopped giving a frick about gear since they released boss gear and pri-pen and only did the bare minimum required to do pvp. The gear in this game is now irrelevant to me, because gear based pvp is irrelevant to the playerbase, and pve was only ever a means to an end for me. When AoS isn't in season this game is dead to me, same as
>How can so many people just be okay with the way it works?

said. If they fixed the shit server lag and tried to do something to mitigate desync I would get back into capped wars but the nw scene is dry as shit and fake manufactured drama.
game sucks ass aos or some group mode please. please revive the guild scene ro do something that makes the game feel like an mmo, come on moron devs, budge.
>it's been a hot minute since i played an mmorpg >maybe i'll give bdo a shot, people say combat is good >do some basic research >find rows and rows of complaints about all kinds of problems, albeit unrelated to combat >"why i'm leaving BDO after 5+ years" and similar videos >downloading is a prospect of enjoying myself for a little bit until i inevitably get confronted with said issues
why can't games just be a guarantee of fun like they used to be? frick.
>make a game 20 years ago
Wow, it sure is fun for 40 hours, what's the game I'll play? >make an MMO now
Wow, this game starts to go down real bad after the first 4000 hours, I don't think I can even stomach it anymore.
20 years ago people were pissing in bottles and quitting their jobs over game like WoW and Runescape
they were the last great MMOs that you could enjoy on $10 a month before microtransactions killed gaming
The game is really fun. I've been playing for years and I've barely scratched the surface. My only regret is not being able to enjoy things for the first time. But, with that said, I've barely scratched the surface. There's so much to do.
Wouldn't be as much of an issue if PA wasn't so fricking stubborn in gatekeeping content. We still don't have easily accessible solo boat for example. Easy leveling still stuck at 58 and quest barely take you to 61 with that one specific route, poverty seasonal gear also getting heavily outpaced by the content schedule, especially with how fricking hard they push vertical progression with each new region.
So how was the new region received in KR? do they like it? is it shit, is it boring? is it just another frustrating time wasting slog like magnus?
They did a pretty good job with changing the SP cap to 1k. Probably one of the best changes they've done in years. Grinding to 61 in season still isn't that bad either, plus I prefer to do it that way cause treasure items. Questing is so boring. Can't agree with the season gear thing since the money you can make at spots like centaurs or upper gyfin is comparable to spots that require way more gear to grind comfortably. It's not that the poverty gear is bad, it's that the income gap between poverty gear and hexe income gear is really small. You grind all the way to 301k and the money is still similar to what you were grinding 9 or 10 ap brackets ago.
My point is 61 should be a starting point by now, the same way 58 was all this time. It is also not really about income and spots, for me at least, but content at large. I like to see new regions and be able to do shit there outside of running through really fast, not grind my brains out in the same fricking spots 3rd year straight.
Take the hyped up land of morning light, i fricking guarantee it will be chokefull of big boy spots and season gear will let you maybe do a main questline and even that is not guaranteed.

The new region doesn't have any grind spots it just has the boss rush, and I don't even think that require a lot of gear if any at all beyond season stuff
>He didn't abuse Saunil and Giants before they got disabled
Neither did I. In fact I accidentally tapped my tet disto raw after I got my wisdom teeth pulled.
I sttoped grinding 6months ago, only login rewards and casual garmoth vell, I will probably do the main new quest on my warrior and get the gloves, then try enchanting them to just duo, too late to buy some memory fragments they went to the moon on preorders
brehs
valkyrie or drakania?
i am new, i just want to be comfy and do some exploration, do life skills and coom.
valkyrie has pretty armour but drakania movement looks very fun.
which one bros..
valk is an og class and it shows in her key inputs so she's pretty janky. braindead ez in low end pve, takes a little more effort in high end content. good in pvp as an ult bot but becomes high apm when you actually have to learn her kit. really good pvp class
drak is more modern so prob easier to learn for new players, not as good as valk in low end but idk how good she is in high end, probably average. great in pvp too and gets a pseudo-flight skill.
>launch game >immediately crashes >launch again >same issue
I guess I won't come back for this update.
Hope it's better than the shitty snowzone at least.
catch yall niggies later I'm gonna play some pso2 instead
I haven't played since 25th April, besides yesterdays update and the Woosa awakening is there anything else new and noteworthy?
I'll skim the earlier patch notes anyway
Unironically want to donate to Chris Poli after I found out he did a guide for all these fricking Dokkebi boxes. Frick Dokkebi and frick fantasy Korea. I hope their princess gets locked in a room with every Shai main.
you can just roll to the wall without caring
the real bad part is the shitty boar fetch quests that repeat
If you could skip the story and go straight to sniping and boss rush I'd like this expac. Every calamity 5 boss I've played has been interesting.
It's been 4 days since I've logged in and the new expansion makes me want to perma quit. So many goodies locked behind fricking gay cutscenes and shitty buggy obnoxious timewasting quests. What were they thinking?
I liked some of the stories so i didn't really mind it overall but the new npc models looked like shit and it was pretty janky at times.
Whoever thought that adding the dokkebi chest journal was a good idea deserves to hang though this is borderline masochistic even with a guide and impossible without one.
I feel like the new zone is lost potential, some of the quests were a bit interesting but when it's mostly just fetch stuff and going back and forth spamming R you just lose interest. And the adventure tome with the chests is just pure cancer, I have no idea how they thought putting good family stats behind that was a good idea.
And the zone having NOTHING to do besides the main story, boss rush and hunting is just such lost potential because it's otherwise a great zone.
I'm not sure if it's a asiatic thing or what, but the entire update just feels quantity over quality.
They straight up need to do a future update where the island is invaded and altered into something people actually want to interact with. This is the embodiment of "meh, whatever" in the form a content expansion. Drop a meteor on the island and have some crazy-ass bloodthirsty shity rampage through isolated snoozefest. I won't remember this content expansion. I would like to remember whatever they choose to do with it or the next one. This exercise in cultural self-aggrandizement ain't it. Swing and a miss try again and a little harder next time.
They could make it a testing ground for more experimental content. idk I have a hard time believing they won't ever add anything else to it besides new bosses in the boss rush. Not really sure what their major plans are but it would be a good look for the future of the game if they used it as ground zero for more dynamic content that evolves with further updates
just sell it. you would need guru cooking to cook the meals that are actually profitable. if you ARE guru, then i think balenos meals? or king of the jungle hamburg.
I'm g40 cooking, so that's no problem. Never really bothered cooking stuff like that though, and everyone says you should cook it and not sell it, but you need millions different mats to cook the stuff that you should cook.
I've been doing Balenos meals for ages and it's not that bad once you get into it, so many of the mats are pretty gainable from the bonus missions and could be even bought if you don't want to bother that much. The good profit comes from imperial trading deliveries though.
God I can't be assed to do all of this content in one go. This is going to take me quite a while, I can only handle like 30 minutes of questing at a time before I get bored to tears and do something else.
I had to stop because of weird lock ups with the interface during cutscene transitions and teleports, meaning relog every few quests. No thanks. It's the first week. People are going to rush it for content creation purposes and others so they can get back to complaining about no content.
have the same thing with seasonal characters. i want to do it to be able to have the stacks and money, but it pains me to have to do the mainquest again.
you don't have to do the main quest on a seasonal character, you're set loose in velia.
I had to stop because of weird lock ups with the interface during cutscene transitions and teleports, meaning relog every few quests. No thanks. It's the first week. People are going to rush it for content creation purposes and others so they can get back to complaining about no content.
It's not even that the story is bad, I mean it's ok I guess. It's just the fricking running back and forth spamming R inbetween and accidentally unmounting my horse trying to interact with some bullshit tiny object. I'd legit rather sit down and have to watch a movie or two about korean mythology then be able to go back to playing the game.
>It's just the fricking running back and forth spamming R
This is a tough one, because I entirely agree, though fall into the situation of not having a clear solution to the dilemma. I honestly would be fine watching a bunch of 15+ minute, well-produced, cinematic stories about the mythology. What I don't enjoy is being bogged down by all of BDO's questing nonsense.
Not sure how you decouple family progression from story progression. Maybe it can't really be done. All I know is I've had to reset BDO 27 times and I'm up to the early steps of the Apex Chengui. Duoksini's last fight took about 45 minutes because the intro cinematic bugged out half a dozen times. I don't know where the happy medium is, just glad it's almost over.
I think if they want to do more story heavy content like this they should encase it all into instances and design it more like a traditional interactive single player game with long winded levels broken up into several segments. Game runs buttery fricking smooth in an instance and they shouldn't have a hard time moving you from one instance to another seamlessly. If they're going to take the reigns every time I interact with a quest NPC just fricking do it automatically instead of making me run from point A to point B while doing irrelevant shit inbetween like R spamming on spread out along the route beforehand. I'm not even against story bs, but with the way it's currently designed it just feels like more of a pain in the ass than anything. Having to do open world jank stuff and spam R doesn't add anything since the point of open world is player interaction, yet there is none of that during questing. May as well go balls deep.
I'm so sad there are no new grind spots. I don't wanna leave the new region, it's actually so beautiful and fantastic. They did such a good job, I have no clue what they were thinking to not have grind spots there.
Dunno how the Korean base feels about it but it's clear they left themselves some options in case they want to go that way in the future, there's clearly space for it in some spots + mob assets to put in there ie golden pig mine, bandit camp, bari forest, etc.
f2p is incredibly viable with seasonal characters. the only """"""pay to win"""""" is just buying costumes to break them down into cron stones to use for enhancements. you can buy costumes with silver from the player market, or just buy cron stones raw for silver (although at a slightly higher cost per cron stone)
is this playable with friends? looking for a new game to play
sort of. no raids yet, but there are some decent midgame grindspots for groups. going boating with the bros is always fun, but thats different for each person. and then theres always the node wars / red battlefield. or u can just rp on kama 3 with some shais in heidel with some music.
You can buy advantages, in-game silver and speed up progression with real money, anyone who says it isn't pay to win or try to downplay it is a moronic fanboy. Everything in this game boils down to getting more silver it's the main currency used to buy almost everything in the game. The morons like to point out "it's expensive" or "you can grind!!" as if that's an excuse.
f2p is viable since it's a solo player game for 99% of the time however it will take a long time, maybe even several years if you play casually, to reach the same starting point you could've bought for money and you will never catch up to someone who spends money.
>VP, kama, secret book
subscriptions which gives smaller buffs, you rarely get them from events nowadays but they can be bought for silver if you're lucky enough to win the preorder >all t4 pets
You can buy them for silver and rarely from events and 1 t1 every season but it will take time to buy since it's one of the most important things to get if you want to grind and a lot of other players want them as well >all the extra gear you could buy from selling costumes >all the extra attempts from crons and money saved by melting costumes >money saved from using artisan's memory when enhancing >p2w tent a hell of a lot easier access to extra buffs and repairs
The tent can't be bought for silver only premium currency >fairy skill resets
Unless you're lucky or want to waste a lot of billions it will take forever to get the best skills. I personally still haven't got the best ones and I've been playing as f2p since the game released >hedgehog extra loot when lifeskilling pretty meh but it's still an advantage >more maids saving travel time and easier inventory management
>life skill costumes >character based inventory and weight
These ones aren't really a problem anymore since at endgame there are alternatives but can still be a big "inconvenience" for new players.
Now go ahead and cope about how this Korean mmo totally isn't p2w.
Pay or not, only PA wins. I'd just point out that the upfront price of trying to p2w all the way to late game status would be psychotic in execution. You can pay to significantly expedite the path towards all of what anon mentioned. What you realistically can't do is actually hit that maxed out point. It would be an absurd cost and in no way guarantee you can pilot all the power you've paid for. People will still just shit on you if PA isn't actively neglecting the wants and needs of your class.
There is absolutely no denying the game is p2w and nearly obligates you into certain purchases (pets, the campsite, fairy rolls), but you gain so very little from swiping beyond a certain point. The diminishing returns hits quick.
Koreans love to pay for shit and flaunt status. This unfortunately creates a nasty barrier to entry. Thankfully the devs have done a lot to ease those barriers. It's a headache knowing that alone will cause some to never touch the game. Conversely, it stops some from touching the game you would never want to. Nothing shocking, nothing new with this stuff. Take it or leave it, I guess.
It's not any more p2w than gw2. In fact all of the gw2 expansions and LW content are more expensive than the baseline for enjoying bdo, which is just a tent on sale and/or with a coupon. If you are NA and you're not pre-ordering pets on tbe mp you're trolling lol, anyone should be able to get 5 t3-t4 pets eventually just through the market.
also >fairy rolls
Unless you're just extremely spoiled, cheer V should be perfectly fine and you don't need to pay any real money to reroll entire fairies if you don't get it by lv50. It's also not very expensive at all to level up, release, and repeat. The auto pot is necessary, everything else is a bonus.
there is something weird about the graphics in this game that makes my eyes hurt
also that the timer of farm plots doesnt progress offline its worst than facebook tier games
Do people not know that there are pets you can get from quests by just taking to npcs? It takes a fricking minute.. You get as minimum 5 t1 pets with just quests and nothing else.
No cuz most people who review bdo's current level of p2w are disingenuous and probably haven't played since full tet boss gear was softcap and silver still had weight. They still think ghillie inv slots and weight are still a problem meanwhile actual players often tag different chars often and have no problem with any of those. Even on a fresh account you literally get like a few bil for free just going through the motions and can just wait for pet sales while the 5 free t1 pets carry you in the meantime.
GrumpyGreen, BlackDesertFoundry and Garmoth(.com) each have lots of information and guides to decipher the game's system. Ultimately you're going to end up in spreadsheets once you really know what you're looking for. Haven't needed a Guild for anything, it's entirely possible to play alone, ignoring for certain features of course.
Just join class discord for any class you need because that's where all of the up-to-date information about classes is. You don't need to talk to anyone, I don't even use discord for anything other than guides and the boss timer. I don't really get the big deal with discord besides the information there not being indexed on search engines which is more of a problem with garbage modern internet than anything.
>people tell me to join a class Discord >requires "discord phone number verification" >turns out that all class discords is just a clique that circlejerk the popular people >any information or tips that's not from the clique are pretty much bullied out
nah
It's the best you have to work with unless you're willing to learn combos yourself, which is generally fine. The class discords are admittedly useless for anything else and yes, are run by circlejerk homos that have no respect for anyone who asks questions or tries to answer them and isn't part of the clique. Never typed a word in any of them for 6 years because of that, so it is what it is.
>Just join class discord for any class you need because that's where all of the up-to-date information about classes is
laughed out loud
discord is notoriously bad with a bunch of infighting and misinformation
And it's in their best interest to do so. Thanks to PA withholding the critical details of the API it means the "balance" of the game is a nebulous and difficult to ascertain situation. Anyone who can compete at the highest levels in both PvP and PvE are incentivized to not reveal the tricks of the trade that give them the edge which have placed them where they are.
Deception is the greatest tool available to anyone trying to defend a position from being stripped away from them. Information, knowledge the power derived from them only exist if effectively monopolized. It can be done multiple ways, but a great one is polluting and stifling the conversation to the point that it's impossible to even initiate a useful exchange.
Positive feedback loops are incredibly awful when you place egotists at the toll booth to the information highway. The only way to break it is to create an alternative and entirely disengage, people who abuse such social structures are addicts and will never stop unless totally dis-empowered and discredited.
>hey PA could you please add damage numbers? >Nope, if we did people might see the actual difference between classes in damage and numbers, and that could give players the wrong idea 🙂
This was pretty much what they said, so fricking moronic. Oh no the horrors that we could with pure facts claim how broken Zerkers are and how they have ALWAYS been since the start of the game.
>farming upper sycraia for ring with literal 1 skill bound on 1 button
Literally waited for a tagging event to make that happen, since Berserker is so much better in that aspect than anything else I've seen. 1 fricking skill that doubles not only as you kill skill, but also your mobility skill. Not to mention that you can still use even more dashes to travel in between mobs.
Did the remove the numbers from global lab? I know you could see them before.

no it's still there the guy is just moronic and doesn't know what he's talking about like 99% of the community crying about shit

Nah you're moronic and can't read. He's talking about having damage numbers in the official version.

If you can still see the numbers in lab then you can clearly show the difference between classes if you felt like it, PA still won't change anything though and it will only make even more sweaty shitters switch to zerk.
>A guru cook is now rice on rice with cheap water, 2 garlic, and 3 pieces of meat times 12
no math needed, this is the cheapest guru meal in the game by a country mile
It isn't. It's less than half the profit of a balenos meal for the same amount of meat. It's like carrot confit, it doesn't receive bonus procs. 1 craft = 1 result.
>meal that takes no effort at all to do and takes lot less materials is not worth as much as a meal that takes hundred times more effort to do and way more different materials
NO WAY!?
>effort >materials
So as I said, you don't know how to do math.

Just do your bonus missions? I've gotten so much High-Quality Pepper from just doing Balenos and Grilled Chicken that I've sold large sums of it.

yeah sure you do, maybe if you cook like 10 meals a day. But we're talking about cooking big batches here.

Normal Onions fill regularly, way more than I ever need. High-Quality Hot Peppers also sell all the time and they come from bonus Velia missions as well, though the bonus missions aren't enough unlike for Pepper. If you're really desperate you get either pick higher quality and downgrade it or just buy some of the sub-meals. And I've been doing like 220+ Guru box daily deliveries for years with also selling hundreds of thousands of Balenos meals and sometimes sub-meals sold. Still got a large batch ready to go, but I'm waiting for an event with a cooking time reduction to go for 1.3s 2000 mastery.

>onions >half a million preorder >can get enough through marketplace
yeah, but now lets talk about cooking more than 10meals a day.
Anonymous
I've been cooking on average way over 5000 meals per day for years. Maybe it's a skill issue. Not to mention again that you can still buy the sub-meals if you lack any or buy the higher quality mat to downgrade. Not that I really needed to do it, but it is still an option.

Anonymous
Yeah sure you have dude, you have 30+ workers catching fish for you to do that as well or do you magically buy fish from the marketplace as well?
Anonymous
I've had some workers on fish. It's not ideal, but I didn't bother to optimize that much as I still have 100 free contribution points I didn't even bother spending, other than that I get decent amount of Scorpion fish on preorders and sometimes Herring, but whatever, if you won't take my word for it there's no point, just let me repeat that it's possible to overfill your imperial deliveries without any farming.

Yeah I'll just get some onions, surely I'll get enough and don't have to wait ages as there's 500000 preorders for it
11 months ago

The thing with preorders is that they often come in waves. You can have days and weeks with barely any and days when you can get multiple. Sometimes you could even get times when all preorders got filled and you could get shittons at the same time, but that's always been pretty rare. That's where the downgrades come in handy, sure they do eat into the profit, but it's still very doable.

Why are you being intentionally, obstinately moronic? You're making up excuses in your head saying "it's not possible", meanwhile people are cooking tons of balenos meals every single day. Is this how stupid people operate? Is this why you're poor?
Seriously, do you not feel ashamed saying things like "it's impossible" when everyone else is doing it? Why would you do that? Why not turn off the ego for like, 5 seconds and maybe ask for help since you're having trouble optimizing your lifeskilling?

Honestly, it is pretty daunting when starting to cook guru meals from scratch, it feels like there's just so many things you need to get that it just doesn't seem realistic to keep up at a high scale. I do somewhat remember how rough it seemed when starting up.

Everyone else is spending tons of time one it, you need to gather milk on alts, fish supply won't be enough, you need to farm 3 different materials and gather lots more meat. >inb4 j-just buy most of the stuff on the marketplace with over half a million preorders!

If you do any more cooking than 10meals per day, yes you will need to gather a lot of milk.

You don't need to gather any milk on alts. Not only does Balenos meal not use milk, but both milk and cheese it actually uses are gainable in multiple ways other than gathering them. It's not a requirement.
So again, why are you spreading misinformation? Are you merely pretending to be moronic?

>Balenos meal not use milk
Anon....now tell me how you make cheese in this game.

>avoiding all the points
While it might not matter anymore, since both milk and cheese both are always in large stocks on the marketplace, thus you do not need to gather them with your alts (you didn't need to do that even beforehand either), at one point it actually did make a huge difference as milk was max priced at 10800 silver per unit, thus it was actually not a material accessable in large amounts though the marketplace, unlike Cheese, which always was purcheseable outside of preorders, but you probably wouldn't know anything about it and why it mattered.
Anyway, what are you trying to achieve here?

No, if you want to cook more than 1 meal per day, you need to manually farm Hot Peppers/Pepper/Onion. You need to have at least 70 workers on fish/grain/eggs. You need to have at least 10 Shai milkers alts. You also need to spend at least an hour every single day gathering meat with Kamasylve's Blessing and 2000 Gathering mastery and finally you need to Gather tons of stone to keep up the Advanced Cookign Utensils!

Why are you spreading misinformation? Every single thing you posted is wrong. Every last sentence.
If you were a real person, you would ask "what am I doing wrong? how can I make meals more efficiently, like everyone else does? I must be missing something."
But you're not a real person, you're some bot trying to act intentionally moronic, probably because he has a low IQ and feels insecure and angry when he sees other anonymous people playing a video game moderately better. I don't know, I'm not your mom, something sure made you this way though.

For something that requires so little other than some patience and practice, it's quite rewarding. Much better system than the daily/weekly scrolls. Arguably, still could use some more development and tuning. Still, pretty decent feature addition.
I didn't sell my TET blackstar after i bought a TRI godr so when we get a hammer next ball i will hit a PEN bs for sure. Haha this time it's gonna hit, yeah. For sure, i can't wait 🙂
>old Adventure journal knowledge you've still not obtained have a detailed description hinting where to find the knowledge >morning light adventure journal knowledge you've not obtained yet just says "Can be obtained through [Interaction]" >there's like 500 interactions in total in the morning light
This and the chest shit is like they've designed the new zone with forcing you to use a guide in mind.
They need the community to write the guide. The developers have no idea what they created and are simply praying their Korean overlords won't cut their rations...again.
Despite all the flaws BDO has, it still baffles me how far ahead it is compared to any other MMO when it comes to be a great open world game. The entire game is fully open world except for a very few instances, the world is huge and filled with stuff and feels really alive. You can nearly interact with every NPC and most of them has a little backstory and lore on their own. Mos of the trees, rocks, flowers and such you see in the world is intractable and serves a purpose, the mount system is great (but sad they pretty much totally abandoned horse combat).
I happened to pick it up after pivoting from Chengui. DPS rush with some must-avoid mechanics. Straightforward and fun, snagged two #1s for my effort. Feels good.
the fox is bullshit. maybe you're not meant to do them without adding orbs but I kept hitting enrage on the first difficulty setting. and frick that no windup instant circle aoe fire attack she does, the fight slows to a crawl because you have to pussyfoot around her in case she pulls that out of her ass
>log in >fricking can't >try to recover password >"Please check your account." >no fricking mail
Why are mmorpg companies so shit at this? I couldn't play FFXIV because of this bullshit either.
I actually rather enjoy the new region, feels kind of themepark-y if that makes sense, it's super comfy. Just wish there was money to make in combat stuff here on a daily basis and maybe some pvp. I'd fight bosses and challenge encounters on a daily basis if it meant I could make even rbf tier money but you can only do 5 bosses a week. Feels like they're kinda getting it right but don't want to let go of traditional grind spots just yet. Don't particularly care about pvp either but I'd like a reason to, even if it was some lame new mode they were testing out.
Yeah, no. I'm not touching that list full of busywork when I can use a recipe using 2x24 of the new vegs 12 cooked rice (rice+water) 24 meat and 12 mineral water, a grand total of 6 ingredients, for each box.
Cookgays are basically the gymbros of BDO. Absolutely obsessed with maximizing efficiency, gains and raw anti-fun optimizations. Like, my dude, shut the frick up and cook your meals. Nobody needs to write an essay on the goddamn recipe meta.

https://docs.google.com/document/d/1ikkAhwMTdrz1Z7PMuzRBjyGttrk20eFdMTstMTOunqo/edit
The guy is actually autistic, he's a legit mathematician and has been at it since the game released. Everything he's done is pretty on the mark too and the basis of what is known about BDO is from him, it's impressive how he comes up with all of this shit. He figured the game out so nobody else had to.
And it's cool but that's not exactly the same as taking a vairable I/O production system and debating the merits of one approach or another, let alone arguing for ideal methods. AP & DP = Damage or Not Damage. It's not really a parallel or equivalent discussion.
Ok. I've worked in radio astronomy for years, including a stint over at the Very Large Array. If he doesn't have the raw code straight from the developers then it remains an exercise in autism, not proper documentation. Because the very notion someone can assert:
>"turns out his formula was wrong because he based it off false information anyway lmao"
Implies that's someone who seriously needs supervision to actually be productive. Spending hundreds of hours producing bad data isn't impressive in a positive way. If the developers don't endorse it, doesn't matter.
>option 1: 2.5x the profit over option 2 >"here's how you do option 1 so you can make a lot more mone-" >"REEE STOP!! ARE YOU AUTISTIC?? LEAVE ME ALONE!!! GYMBROS!!"
What a weird way to live.
>Balenos meals are not worth it >just buy all the materials and meals from the marketplace and cook yourself
yeah...nice profit there. Might as well do Gukbap.
Also using byproducts on Milk.
Funny how this guy claims he cooks like 10000x meals per day and somehow manage to never run out of mats at all.
>just buy everything from the marketplace >even stuff that has over 500000 preorders >btw I cook 10h per day so getting 10 pepper from preorders per day is enough for me
Skill issue. Maybe you're just too moronic to play the game even after being literally told what to do numerous times. (You can preorder, you can downgrade mats, you can get mats with bonus missions, you also get them with dailies, you can farm them yourself) I guess not everyone is of at least average intelligence.

Hunting went from meta moneymaking to over-saturated and irrelevant in about a week. Nice, lifeskillers so busy chasing that dragon they're collectively fricking each other through hyper-optimized trend chasing.
People are snipe hunting for crystal mats because it's the only non-timegated method, 80% of them don't give a shit about lifeskills. It will stabilize in a month or two.
>It will stabilize in a month or two.
Anon said to himself as he looked over his three month plan. Surely this is just a phase. There can't be that many lifeskillers, don't be ridiculous! But anon was wrong. Players began to come back to the game. The new lifeskill content has a low enough barrier to entry that is allows players to easily cut in on reduced but still worthwhile rewards. The market doesn't just saturate, it nearly bends and breaks as people refuse to walk away from their guide-influenced efforts. It stops making sense. How is anyone making money? IS anyone making money? What the hell is going on? Was that one random anon on /vm/ actually on to something? Eventually you find yourself pondering such thoughts as you endlessly complete circuits of your old rotations, not even noticing as you do so. What? Grinding again? How could this happen? You hate grinding... The world is a strange place filled with many mysteries.
I went sniper hunting and I'm seething at 6 hours and no crystal. I'm planning on selling and just sniping meat and blood on the market and continue to gather dead tree essence and scorpion meat. I just wanted my final crystal of darkness. Tell me when hunting lets me gather blood group 3 in bulk.
If I were on a fresh account I'd buy picrel before the deal ends, then buy [LoML] Leveling Aid Pack for the 20% coupon. Also comes with a vp, an infinite range horse flute and a pet. Then I'd use the 20% coupon on the tent which is currently on sale for 15% cause the tent is what you really want. Save the rest for sales and deals on storage/marketplace maids.
3-4 years ago I'd say yeah max out your inv slots and weight once you decide on a main, but nowadays it isn't even necessary. There's so much less item bloat from grinding that I don't think about it when I'm grinding on tags, and ever since the tag system I personally regret buying almost every character bound item or upgrade I have. I have 2 chars with high weight and maxed out slots and I don't even use them anymore.
Things to get with cash? Well, pearl-wise the 1+1 bolxes are a good way of getting pearls, then the edition/bundle packages when they're on sale (70% off during black friday).
Then with the actual pearls, you probably want to wait for sale + coupons and if possible to combine them. The actual things to get probably depend upon your goals. In general you probably would want to get the permatent. The perma global flute for your main character is beyond great quality of life. Inventory slots are a pure waste, they're given away like candy. Weight is pretty great, especially for certain kinds of lifeskilling, but they're character-bound. Hedgehog if you want to do Gathering, otherwise shouldn't really need pets for pearls. Alchemy or Cooking P2W might not be that needed anymore, but it can make you break some tresholds. Ghillie maybe if you're into PVP. Naderr's band if you want to get hard into enhancing, but you'd know if you can use them. How much you want to spend on Value packs is up to you, some people wouldn't play the game without it on, others don't particularly care. You can spend pearls for city storages/lodgings, but they aren't as valuable anymore apart from maxing one of two towns (you're basically buying contribution points) and they can be gained with loyalties. Character Slots are really good for gaining family fame via Season charaters/timepieces, you can get them with Loyalties too, but they're quite expemsive and once per month. You may also consider Theiah's Orbs to roll your fairy for Miraculous Cheer V and/or Feathery Steps, but how much you want to spend is really just up to you, they're drip-fed from time to time and you can reroll your fairies with wine/wings.
Interesting, thanks.
So a currency pack, horse, pets and maids
Are outfits still worth to pay money for or they are sold for cheap in game?
>So a currency pack, horse, pets and maids
No, don't buy horse gear, or pets unless you are going to gather/hunt. When pets are on sale they are sold in the marketplace frequently UNLESS you're in EU. Buy specifically the 1+1 pearl box cause it's such a good deal and we don't get 1+1 boxes too often, get the leveling aid pack for the coupon and spend the coupon on the tent. It's the best deal we'll probably get in a while on the tent and that's priority. The pearl tent is the biggest gamechanger. Everything else is fluff so save the rest for good sales.
>Are outfits still worth to pay money for or they are sold for cheap in game
Depends on the outfit. Picrel are the ones typically on sale, the premium costume box, classic costume box and succession costume box. They're sold in the marketplace often so you should be able to get a costume easily for any class. The only ones I buy with real money are the ones that aren't able to be listed in the MP. Otherwise just buy exactly what I said in

man, every time I see a BDO thread crop up I'm amazed how it's the only korean MMO to survive and thrive all these years later.
it's bizarro world where the devs actually care about the game.
For what it's worth I must say that once my hopes were dashed upon the shattered wreck of ArcheAge, I didn't have much left in the tank for BDO. Put plainly, I'm still logging in years later and logging out without swearing to quit or curse the dev's names. Could be better, could be worse. LoML is decent enough by my measure. Says something, I guess.
It gets a reasonable amount of care. It could be worse, many wish the devs cared more about class balance and powercreep but korean devs don't think that way.
>Shai get all the craftable outfits >Shai get to make custom music >Shai get a variety of dance emotes
Literally a different game playing Shai. They need to at least give us Drieghan outfits
>Shai players complain about their nerfs gutting the class >It's still top 3 on all bosses
Dogshit players that just cry. Never ever trust a Shai, they are as bad as DK players.
i wish more ppl talked about bdo. games like wow and ffxiv and gachashit and fortnite or minecraft have active generals but bdo never does. the bdo forum is full of ESL whiners and the bdo reddit is full of bitter veterans and coomers. hell even fricking maplestory has a somewhat active general and reddit and forums but bdo talk feels soooo dead. guess there isn't much to talk about but is there anything to talk about in any game? I've never used discord for anything other than bdo boss timers and have considered using it just to have some more internet ppl to talk to about bdo but something about discord just feels off.
it's shit grinder game anon, there is nothing to talk about >omg dude i almost enhanced my thingy today but failed and lost 20 billion oh well back to grinding the exact same monster i grind 6 hours a day every single day!
At least wow, as bad as it's gotten, is still mildly entertaining to around from time to time on a little pretend adventure killing various types of monsters and completing a few quick daily quests. I really hate how BDO has this weird ass fricking design of ALL monsters each being relegated to one specific zome each, with nothing else BUT that type of monster there. That is just so fricking weird and boring.
I'm not really sure what you mean, is your issue that the mobs aren't spread out enough around the world?
PA has their own method of detecting bots I don't believe that bots are being held back because of the open world and considering the amount of time you spend on your account doing something that put you at risk of getting banned is incredibly stupid.
There are definitely bots in the game, seen many of them myself but they're uncommon because of how easy it is to interrupt them. Often times they don't get caught for a while 'cause pve players see a white dot and immediately run
Breeya still does this btw I see them in rbf every now and then. Even though they changed their name it's so obvious who it is.
>Breeya still does this btw I see them in rbf every now and then. Even though they changed their name it's so obvious who it is.
What does he gain from this? Just the cahpra dust from the quests? Is it really worth to risk your account for that?
I guess he's not risking the account isn't he, since he didn't get ban yet.
I'd say it's still not worth to use bots, this is nowhere near as bad as in Lost Ark, and these kind of bots don't ruin the market for us either, unless they grind infinite silver to endgame upgrades?

How are they not banned yet when like half the servers know they bot?
>What does he gain from this?
Exp. The just hit lv68 earlier this year and after lv66 or so rbf becomes the most efficient way to get exp. About a year ago I saw them macroing at mirumok and would join rbf matches at 10m and bot for the remainder of the match. They've literally been doing this since 2017 and hit 66 like 3-4 years ago, I have no clue why they aren't banned but they're a known botter and PA does nothing.

>I have no clue why they aren't banned
Yes you do. Everyone knows when something that doesn't make sense, should be a violation warranting punishment for anyone else and never seems to get what's coming to them it's corruption behind it.
It doesn't particularly matter what he did to obtain that "VIP" status, but there it is, as you articulated it. He did something to convince PA to never ban him despite flagrantly breaking the rules. It happened years ago and stuck, so whatever it was, it continues to hold up. Could be money, could be friends/connections to the inside, but no amount of complaining will cause it to stop short of one of those big viral expose campaigns. Even then, only those named who face consequences of have them offset to all land on a fall guy. In a game / space where you can buy power it's not too much surprise you could possibly buy your way out of repercussions too.
bdo is much more of a singleplayer game than any of the games you mentioned. if theres any conversations, its just wanting to know where a certain guide is, what mob does what, etc etc etc.
ive played ffxiv, some gachas, and am in the mcg thread pretty often. never really got into maplestory because of the controls, but i have a rough idea of the community in each of the games.
Hard disagree. It barely qualifies as a single-player game, basically a cinematic light novel. The "player" aspect of the game is totally secondary to the game shoving its story down your throat. Once done it's just AFK and fapping (so just like BDO, except the devs actually want you to quit ASAP so they can go back to being worshiped by their unflinching fanbase).
The fights with floor spawned mechanics are those causing the most difficulty. It's not rocket science, it's just bad mechanic execution and in-game signaling. Can't avoid what you don't realize is hitting you. Turn down the graphics and you cannot see these effects at all.
Not really the way to think about it. Rather, what class can you play well and also want to do so? Regardless of your pick you're still competing against others of the same class.
Not sure if there's truly accurate "data" on what classes steamroll the content versus which struggle. Seems like if you can't pilot a character well it's not going to matter what you pick.
Cap right now is 5 plus the one guaranteed in every track. There should be 2 from the storyline itself, a third from a black spirit quest for free, and then two more from two further black spirit quests requiring you to clear any boss on calamities 3 and 5 for the first time respectively.
Neither because you're gonna be competing with fifty other shitters trying to do the same thing. Better to pick a less common class so you have better odds of landing in the top 20 by sheer lack of competition.
I've been playing this game for a week, but something struck me that the design is kinda schizo. Ok the main thing in PvE is the grind spots, you get a 1 hour ticket of free farming and then you are competing with other players. But at the same time there is karma system that heavily penalize the players so its a jerk off match of who kill mobs faster. At this point just make the instanced spot permanent or remove karma system and let people murder each other for it.
They do kneejerk reactions to shit. Like you are heavily penalized if you even scratch another boat out on sea because a red player repeatedly sank the GMs' boat during an event.

At this point just make the instanced spot permanent or remove karma system and let people murder each other for it.
>At this point just make the instanced spot permanent or remove karma system and let people murder each other for it.
There's a channel where you can do exactly that, just go there. I will never understand people complaining about Karma when there's a channel to bypass the entire system.
You are correct, the entire design is fricking schizo and moronic and really benefits no one. The forced PVP system has no value at all except for asshats who truly get joy out of just fricking with someone's grind- except these people are definitely never happy. I had some guy screw with me at Orcs once, it's such a fricking waste of my time and scrolls and buffs, so I just kept ressing and karma bombing him and he utterly lost his shit, like seriously I've never seen such a bad meltdown, he was just screaming FRICK YOU FRICK YOU because I wouldn't "fight fair", like fricking lmao you're the piece of shit wasting MY grinding time, why would I care about the fact I just fricked your crystals and gear. Such an idiotic system used only by idiotic people.
Are the devs just too afraid of removing pvp alltogether? It seems they don't want to make a stand up and keep the worse of the two worlds.
The only thing I can think of is if they did some kind of instanced grinding like that, bots would go RAMPART. The PvP aspect of the game is one of the things that keeps bots away right now, like it's actually baffling how little bots I've seen in this game while all other MMORPG's are filled with them.
PA has their own method of detecting bots I don't believe that bots are being held back because of the open world and considering the amount of time you spend on your account doing something that put you at risk of getting banned is incredibly stupid.
do grinding on arsha, really fun pvping ppl who try to take your spot. most of the time though, there's not enough competition in the spots to warrant the pvp
it's amazing how salty people get on season arsha, as if they went there without the intention of pvping. was just grinding manshaums waiting for someone to show up to fight, this corsair comes into my rotation and I kill him a few times. whisper him to see if he just wants to fight at node and hang out a bit and he goes on a schizo rant as if I just ruined his day kek. It was very confusing and I'm convinced the majority of people who pvp are severely mentally ill.
Yea but even then at least fighting gamers want to fight each other. The corsair seemed like they didn't want anything to do with pvp and had no clue what they were doing. Like b***h why are you on fricking seasonal arsha at a potion spot if you don't want to pvp. Pvpers are actually typically nice too
some ppl try to go on arsha because they're less populated so they can grind, but that also comes with the expectation that people will fight you for grind spots. which i think is rather fun
>he doesn't go on psychotic tirades over the most inane bullshit
Sweetie, don't tell me you're one of those mega chill dudebros who just wants to have a good time... Giga oofies my doodles...Cringetrastrophe in the form of anon.
Is there supposed to be a point to half these LOML items? Ok you got your gukbap, but then there's like...
>spend 10 hours on a worker to make 20 meju >spend 24 hours and 20 meju on a worker to make basedbean paste + onions sauce >can get 40 more onions sauce from a daily quest >onions sauce isn't used for anything important whatsoever
there's some sidequests that take skewers or whatever but big frickin deal, you make or buy 100 of those and you're set for life
what's the point of turbo-limiting this ingredient if it isn't worth anything
Ah, he's putting on an act of being a low level buffoon, which for Koreans means acting (and sounding) like an American. He transforms into his so-called proper elite asiatic form at the end of the story, throwing his faked accent and all the bumbling behavior away.
I haven't finished any of the quests yet so I'm not gonna read that
Another thing that's annoying me is the teleportation to some of the quest objectives. I want to explore the new area and have to find my way around, not get teleported between areas leaving me with no sense of direction or location. How can they think this is a reasonable way to introduce a new region?
Understandable, it's just a little jab at PA (though does contain spoilers, so correct choice made).
While I won't justify it per se... the format is intended to be like a choose your own adventure sort of storybook. The various tales can be engaged with out of order and allow you to "explore" the island in a disjointed or semi non-linear fashion. It's still BDO questing.
At very least the boss fights tend to be pretty good and there's enough variety that none of the tales really overstay their welcome.
Per ProZD, the VA for Dolswe, the reason he has a southern accent is because it matches what he sounds like in Korean. He speaks with a very rural-sounding accent and the English equivalent of that was decided to be a typical Southern accent so that's what they went with.
>It's fricking impossible to see ANYTHING at Oduksini 7 if your class has busy effects
What were they thinking? One shot mechanics that are impossible to see without turning up your effects but doing so also makes your own characters effects take up the whole screen..
I could grind.
But I won't.
actually me. I don't wanna use my buffs and I don't wanna play the game rn.
tfw
The combat feels so weird. Am I doing something wrong? I have tried berserker, striker, and warrior
It's a fighting game, don't be bamboozled. Learn the combos, learn yourself, join the fgc, become gay, those classes are icky.
every class feels very different so you'll probably go through a couple seasons before finding one that really clicks with you.
If you want to just test out a class then make a trial character, max out all of it's skills and fool around on dummies for a bit.
>i hope they fix this game's spaghetti code
We're WAY past that point.
Why can't the C-levels let the developers just create the game everyone deserves...
which race makes the best workers? was thinking goblin slaves sounds funny but not sure if it's worth the hassle vs giants. also would gobbos level fastest since more jobs/time?
succession musa is fun but I don't like the new blooming effect. it used to look like you were "throwing" cuts with your blade now its just a big gust of wind that blends in to the 6 other gust of wind attacks. who do i talk to about editing game files so I can revert it somehow
nevermind this class is gay why the frick am i running out of stamina just moving from pack to pack at sycraia who thought this was okay
PA can tongue my anus, I quit 3 weeks ago
thanks i wanted to read this before jumping into this game, frick this shit, too old for this
WHERE IS THE SEX!!?!?!?!?!??!?!?!!!
Asking the real question.
Does this works?
By the way, I'm really considering not upgrading tuvala accessories. It's annoying.
Yes that works. Personally I just threw the 30-50 stacks on the TET and PEN levels and more or less ignored stacks at anything under
>I'm really considering not upgrading tuvala accessories.
Making more gains playing only 45 minutes a day than I did grinding 2 hours. Bless dailies
What daily quests are you doing? I don't know of any dailies that would even come close to 2 hours of grinding.
Where were you grinding lmao, waragons? 1b+ from dailies sounds like a pretty sweet deal.
I'm not playing again until my vell's heart PO fulfills
see you all in 6 months
Coelacanth can be fished on normal servers after this patch. They listened.
needs bump
just let it die like the game is
Every gather material that can't be hunted is gone. Hopefully the update fixes this shit
>want to do the trade quest
>item needed is out of stock for 7 days
>guaranteed hike on trade item
>it's out of stock for 7 days in two out of the three trade outposts in the region
Just wait a couple of months for things to get changed to its final form. It's just how PA operates. Things are rarely finished on release.
Nah, they'll probably just abandon it like they did with harpooning in favor of pushing out more fotm classes to make the prospect of class balance that much further away.
No, it's all outdated 'cause it's all dead irrelevant content that was powercrept by elvia two years ago.
They will abandon it eventually, but not before making changes to it. Whether it'll end up fine or trash is yet to be determined.
Is there any table with all nodes and their cp cost with lodging and storage slots that isnt 5 years out of date?
I need to reorganize my CP usage and it's a pain trying to eyeball it from the map.
With just a few changes in the right direction it could've been great but they instantly fricked everything up like usual.
they buffed it by 33% you moron learn to do basic math
I'm impressed anyone even cares about the new trading update. I can't even be assed to read about it.
Not that many people care cause they took too long. Majority of lifeskillers already fricked off to other games, their chance to buff trading was lost when they created elvia without considering how it would affect the other methods of income.

wtf when is the new region dropping I though it'd be this week
Should be out in a couple of months. Probably like 2-3, but I don't think there's been any info on that,
no sex...
>gotta march out to bumblefrick nodewhere to level strength now
they need to either nerf centaurs to make anything else worthwile for me to go to or buff everything else. There's such a dearth of meaningful money spots between 250-280 ap range. And centaurus is so boring
>250-280 ap range
are you sure you mean 250-280ap and not more like 200-250? because centaurs isn't the best after that in any way even if you use agris the entire time. Even at this point you can try gyffin upper with a party and hope that the rest of your party doesn't have trash gear.
never seen an upper gyf ad that wasnt exclusively asking for 290k+
This would be a terrible idea because then you would have an even dispersal of goombahs crawling all over every grind spot all the time.
Reddit ruins every game it touches.
It's already like that, you're pretending that people even go to arsha to pvp anywhere except for gvgs at stars end beach, upper gyfin or orcs and even then arsha pvp is dead 20 hours of the day. Why do you care about player dispersal when you don't pvp?
>no argument
Post aos rank/gs/guild, or are you just a shitter who hides in marni realms for an hour and then logs off?
Upper Gyfin should just always give the elten compass piece.
Just wait for valencia elvia or whatever the frick it's gonna be.
>3 years
No
We have no choice, it's orcs/gyfin/hexe for the next 3 years. Not that it matters how little grind spots there are anyway since there are so many servers and also marni realm.
Jokes on you Im making 800m at Hystria atm
I got max gear on my season Woosa recently and I found I could do stars end pretty easily even though it says 260 ap requirement (247ap is what she's at). Is stars end just easy/the req lying or does this mean I could then potentially take my 270k main and then tag woosa and be able to do orcs camp?
Class dependent. Woosa could probably grind orca fine at 270k
okay yes she can LMFAO my fricking zerker and succ musa cant even kill shit here at half the speed she this b***h is so cracked I am in love
It's so BORING
I noticed a lot of the PVP BDO community kind of acts like the fighting game community as opposed to typical MMO players in addition to the game sort of playing like a fighting game when it comes to PVP.
This game is bad for content, all bdo clip channels are just boring ass pen taps and pvp stuff and pvp stuff isn't interesting to watch. Little bits of the game died when the /vg/ guild died, when FML died and when Lacari quit.
You're not wrong at all, the BDO community is just about as salty as the fighting game community. There's no money in pvp so the only thing at stake is ego which causes a lot of shit talk, drama, politics, toxicity etc. Without it BDO pvp would die overnight lol.
Honestly, the coomposters from the old /vg/ threads were entertaining,
How about the hundreds of pvp and grind videos with terrible songs overlaid on top of them with no included commentary. It's bad enough to have to watch other people play the game, but to be forced to listen to their crappy tastes in music makes it worse.
Nothing interesting ever happens in BDO
Yeah its always top 40 pop music or something, I mean you'd think power metal would at least pop up a few times cause its a fantasy game but I don't get the sense that BDO players actually care about that very much.
pvp is normalgay content in most MMOs
all of the bdo content is drama and hardly any of it is posted on youtube. nobody really cares about montages in bdo anymore cause nothing is new, everyone in the pvp community already knows who the best players are. the majority of the pvp community are boomers who say no shot no cap on god all the time and listen to rap and phonk and the only real pvp content is livestreamed on twitch, there isn't really much variety.
for example this is pretty much "content" in bdo. it's all obscure inside shit that you wouldn't understand unless you were involved in the pvp community. i imagine it makes zero fricking sense to people unfamiliar with the game/politics/homosexualry etc. basically bdo pvp is nothing without the drama
i love bdo so much
yeah bdo youtubers have god awful taste in music. nearly all are impossible to watch without muting. I actually love it when you find the rare one with no music and just game audio
>BDO
>youtube content
Who cares? Do people want a homosexual Asmongold doing reaction content, gossip-shit, and dress up competitions?
Unironically, yes.
I play BDO to avoid that gay crap. If I wanted to deal with girly middle schooler crap play FFXIV with the other troons and manchildren.

Who is the most braindead class to grind 1 shot potion spots with? entering week 8 no manshaum piece I don't want to expend even 1 more brain cell on grinding here
Awk Valkyrie, you literally hold down two buttons and aim your mouse at whatever you want to die. Doesn't get much more brainless than that.
How viable is it to gear yourself with both C10 Kzarka and C10 Dande?
What do you mean?
Hmm. Good point. I forgot about Godyr weapons. Thanks.
Is the pass worth it or should I wait for better deals? It's 2800 with a 20% discount but idk. I do a lot of gathering so I'd like the llama but it's expensive
Thank you Rawr-Rawr. I've been doing weeklies since Peggy and I finally got it from RR drops

Here's the results of fricking with people over the past month:
>83 encounters where both I and whoever was on the rotation (or arriving at it) become aware of each other and interaction begins
>My gear is fine, but it's not good enough to take on anyone who can actively PvP with confidence
>I bought a ghillie suit long ago and wear it out of habit. I can't say if it has any true psychological impact on people, however:
>71 of the 83 encounters resulted in no response when approaching the other player - they simply spent a moment bewildered and then disappeared.
If you just care about killing the mobs, then there almost always is a more efficient alternative to contesting with other players, which kind of doubles as to why there's no point of trying to contest as trying to contest to begin with means the other person is likely going out of their way to innitiate this sort of a interaction, meaning that the point isn't the spot itself, but the interaction.
fricking FINALLY
ngl I wish all outfits were available constantly. Hate having to wait around for the rare shit like this and the crimson knight sets.
>fight another succ Corsair
>Fight for 5 minutes doing no damage
Evasion memes are real. I even have a pen ominous
I hate the mobs at jade forest so much. I hate this place. These buttholes move around too much. I'm going back to lower gyfin.
cant they hire someone who speaks english to write the story?
make this shit full time and I'll consider spending money on your gambling game PA

just buy it silly, go to the horse discord and wait for someone to post a peggy. why would you even put money into making your own dream horse lmfao just use the free shit they give out. I've made 6 doom horses this way and I just sell them.
>all of my savings
>all of it
i literally dont even have a 10th of the cost for a peggy. i thought id be silly and get a peggy for dirt cheap by getting a low stack pop, but sunk cost pushed me to 31.
just grind
>ALL of my savings
>sold gear
i had planned to just lifeskill once i got the peggy, but nada
12-13b is nothing
literally me except I'd never burn any of my money on a gamble. Everything I gamble I get from grinding.
you think they'll ever add the damage numbers from the global lab client to live servers? game has gotten a lot of QoL things we never thought they'd give us in recent times. I think if people brought it up on the feedback forums they'd seriously consider it now
No and I hope they never will. It looks awful
I miss getting book of old moon and kama blessings for free
I wish RBF gave more stuff and we had another map. Not liquid silver but idk more dust, like 20 for a loss and maybe 50 for a win, bump the weekly up to like 500 dust I guess. Or the ability to convert red seals into more stuff like whale pots, draughts, 1 day kama/moon buffs for a high cost etc.
A rearranged Helms cave with capturable golems would be a pretty fun map.
So humans in bdo frick elves, dragons, and mermaids. Any other copulation lore out there?
>humans in bdo frick elves, dragons, and mermaids

Orwen is half elf, Corsair is half mermaid and Partigio's daughter, and Labreska had a human boyfriend and created Guardian after he disappeared (murdered by Drakania).
>It's Awake Drak and Succ Zerker chasing you in RBF
It's okay I didn't need to escape to recover health
saunils is a pretty fun spot to make money at now
rhutums too. giants is very good now too. calpheon elvia is so cool i'm so glad they buffed it.
Best spot in the game
lol this shit is packed now. server hop after server hop and its 2-3 people grinding over each other to get elites now.
>Even as a red player they can walk in and profit
fixed.
>going to elvia
you make more going to elvia with 0 agris bruv
too boring and class dependent
they should implement stricter ap caps to prevent things like this. you should never be able to 1 shot any area. you should be incentivized to do new spots your ap is capable of not smashing spots for low level players with 290 ap kutum
>see a Shai in RBF hiding behind her team's ball
>burn all of my resources to rush to her, grab her, knock her down, do nothing, and runaway
yes
came back after a couple of years, grinded for a total of 30 minutes, and accepted that afk lifeskilling will be the only way i get silver in this game because the unmatched boredom of grinding at stars end going to kill me. Whats the most profitable afk lifeskill?
Probably fishing unless you're a high mastery at training+forest wagon+equipment coupon+both Tet silver and manos.
Did they nerf cooking? Cant find any cooking utensils on market.
>fishing
should i use triple float or balenos?
>hunting
huh?
hunting is big money
290 kutum players are farming cups and making 800m-1b/hr at orcs. real tuvala timmies fresh out of season are making like 500m tops at centaurs. more ap caps at centaurs wouldn't do much at all. now if you said that orcs needs a more strict ap cap, then yeah I'd agree with you. Orcs should be like 650m tops to incentivize people to move on to other regions once they finish their cups. Instead of being a temporary stopgap, it's pretty much orcs forever until hexe unless you're going after debos or the merchant ring. When you can make 1b/hr at orcs it makes it pretty hard for PA to buff other spots and encourage people to move on, and feel like they're progressing through the grind spots, instead of chasing luxuries when they're bored of printing silver at orcs.
would it be better to save for a tet disto to replace the so I can do orcs faster or take the time to finish penning + caphrasing the armor first? having tried orcs I dont feel like I can die there with buffs unless I make multiple mistakes in a row, but I went and tried a few other 280 ap spots in winter region and basic mobs cut through me like paper.
also I'm like 2 weeks away from Pen-ing the jetina ring and i've been waiting on vell's preorder for like a month.
>dim tree
Yikes.
you don't need distos where you're at. finish ap/dp journals if you haven't, rush duo fallen god while waiting for pen acc and you should have the ap/dp for comfy orcs. after that, pen the helm/gloves and then rush duo labreska. c4 pen gloves/boots, go for double tet distos then c10 gloves for next expansion and c9 boots. do the pen helm/gloves the free way btw, enhancing for pen boss gear is a waste of time and good stacks.
>oldgay gear
thank god im not alone. im still trying to figure out what the frick people even get nowadays for endgame gear.
>oldgay gear
You nu-players are clueless.
They know nothing about hybrid taritas
NTA. Came back about a month ago and just finished up the mana pot. Always wanted it, finally got it. Feels good. Don't care if my gear is shit.
I got two mp pots and I never got a full Tshira piece. It's always the spot that takes the longest.
Definitely worth the effort though, not having to ever think about repotting ever again is so nice.
>cracks open loot scroll
yep its frickin gamer time baby
>pitied my way through all three pieces of health pot
>barely halfway through manshaum pity and hating every second of it
My class isn't particularly mana-heavy so I'm good to stop at just one part for the mana pot, yeah?
Kinda curious what the RP server is now. I've heard Cal2 and Kama2 but never really got a def answer on either. Anyone know which is favored?
Sadly I don't think EU has any. I miss all the loose screenshots people used to take
It used to be Cal2 but people started griefing the RPers off of there a few years back, now it's Kama2.
Where is this outfit?
you have to craft it. flora shai costume
Whether these would've actually been any good one is one thing but did they just bite off more than they could chew?
>did they just bite off more than they could chew?
No idea what they are doing. Nothing, literally nothing gets out from there. Aside from black desert, you would expect them to not exist.
The lore in this game is pretty good from Kamasilvia and beyond. Valencia is legendary trash.
>Succ Witch is bad in PvE
She's pretty meh. Low mobility, extremely long cast times, lackluster protection. Magic Lighthouse is kind of neat, but the cooldown on it is still way too long at times. 12s or fewer with same or longer duration and only one being active at most would go a fairly long way in quality of life.
She's amazing in endgame spots. Ash, Quint, Crypt, and Gyfin Underground one of her specs is top 3. Only Woosa can really contend with her at slow spots and Witch is the uncontested queen of Crypt. You're basically throwing if you don't spend money to alt her there.
That doesn't matter for any place besides one-shot areas
She's good at ash cuz of the red orb exploit. Other than that I'd give her an A+. Been a while since anyone said succ witch was bad in pve, she's just not braindead low apm while most people would rather just tag woosa/maegu/succ zerk for gyfin or quint or take the marginal trash loot loss and chill on awk. Maegu better at crypt btw. nerf pls
awk ranger is like 95% melee, only uses her bow for the iframe and ccs. not very high apm anymore imo, reboot made her braindead now she only has stam issues to contend with. succ sorc is a sleeper class imo, pretty high apm. reboot made awk sorc braindead in pvp and she's not very good in pve.
You should be doing all of the journals anyway.
Pvpers talk a lot of shit but they will be the first ones to reach out and give you advice if you ask in BA and actually try learning pvp.
Appreciate you anon, will give thems a shot. There's a couple more on the list
You did timepiece another class last season, right? You should, it's basically a free second seasonal character that you don't have to grind up again.
Nah nah, not yet. I was going to do it on the 9th (today) in case I decided to play more today. Thanks for looking out tho!
Yea you should probably do that soon, season is about to end I think.
it ends tomorrow after maintenance
Ranger or Sorc for next season?
I levelled up a Witch this season and had fun. I want to tap into a high apm class that has satisfying combos. Ranger's Awakening seems super cool and I can get down with a ranged playstyle. However, Sorc just seems fricking cool
>It's not meta, that's for sure.
She's busted as frick in pvp.
wtf why does no one mention there's a journal that gives 600 hp when they bring up the ap dp journals 600 hp seems significant for pvp no? does this also apply in Solare/T1 NWs?
PvE players don't care about hp
You bet your sweet ass your opponent would love for you to have 600 less HP.
>having the money to buy upgrades
what the frick are you guys doing? i got 250 ap, and am trying to raise my lifeskill stats, but my funding is at an all time low. share your secrets my compatriots
Literally just afk fish.
how much do you make per hour at a low level vs high level? any need for silver lined fisher gear or just whatever
i like playing shai 😀
step 1. roll succ zerker
step 2. go to centaurus herd
hope you enjoyed this infinite money cheat subscribe and click the bell to stay tuned for more tips and tricks
grind out your infinite hp potion. mana pot is optional but very very nice imo.
seggs?
this tag event is a problem. I want to play almost every class I've tagged but I can't main them all 🙁
I just hop around different classes, it's no biggie. Typically if I want to try a new class and don't want to untag my current tag I make a season character and farm map/compass on it, then when I want to try another class without untagging then that's when I timepiece. I do every season so I have multiple pen tuvala sets
i got my shai a little hood 😀
post dicky?
Good change except for the high agris increase one player should not occupy an entire fricking zone.
No fun allowed.
ty pa i find it gay being compelled to turn agris on and off here
Agreed. I appreciate niche or slightly gimmicky mechanics that have rewarding payoffs, but that's just OCD-tier "press button for BONUS SPIN!!!" vibes.
How soon does the next season start?
Returning after 3 or 4 years, 1.6b in bank, where do I go from here gear wise?
Get started on the Magnus questline which gives a free piece of pen boss gear (that you should use on Red Nose armor) while you wait for the next season to hit, then make a new character and follow the season objectives. You'll walk out the other side with a full set of tuvala gear that's slightly better than tri boss gear, a single piece of which can be swapped for a tet boss piece/weapon after the season is over. End of season rewards also include a free pen capotia neck/ring/belt/earring.
If nothing else look into the Jetina guaranteed pen accessory which will take a couple months' worth of grind dailies.
I'll go for that Magnus questline for now, not sure what the season thing is yet but I'll look into that next
Thanks for the info!
Well, I’m redownloading it. I wonder how much money I’ve accumulated since I last played.
i think it caps out at 2bil
Preorder PEN Blackstar Awk weapon? I'm about 60B off and the last one sold a few months ago. Is it likely someone will eventually fill the order by the draw of such a huge instant ROI? Seems like not many move.
I POd mine while slowly enhancing a tet bs on the side to build fs for pen accessories. I tapped the pen before the PO popped.
got all of my mem frags from scrolls I grinded myself though. It took quite some time but I didn't invest much raw silver into enhancing
any active bdo guilds here? i could use a group for grinding or vell ctg
Don't know of any guilds. NA or EU? My gear's still a little outdated but probably close enough.
anyone want to start a guild on NA? could just start one for just casual players or just people who need a group. use this post as a gauge of interest.
lets restart baka
>woosa awakening teaser

The catch is essentially found in the company's name:
>Pearl Abyss
Whatever the case, there are a frick ton of costumes across the many characters.
so I assume money mostly come from grinding mobs for hours? how about group pve like dungeons or raids?
do I need to care about the story?
Feathery steps would be nice but frick that cringe I'm never giving PA money for that bullshit system.
>lifestyle
Lifeskill
>hardcopy
hardcap
Sorry I was phone posting on the toilet.
What should I expect if I just want to level different girls and dress them up?
>inv slots
>weight
they reduced the weight of pots by like half. trash loot weighs less, silver doesn't weigh anything anymore, reduced the amount of shit items you get from grinding so your inventory isn't clogged up after 15 minutes anymore. weight and inv slots aren't really important anymore, it's a luxury instead of something that will make your grind a total pain in the ass.
>ghillie
instead of obscuring your nametag it renames it to "Unknown Adventurer" so you're not literally fricking invisible in a grassy colored ghillie anymore
>lifeskill costumes
mastery and sheeeit
>What should I expect if I just want to level different girls and dress them up?
the fashion in this game still sucks ass, but people regularly sell costumes that are on sale. I have multiple outfits on every character I have, just takes patience and grabbing whatever goes on sale. if you want something specific and don't want to wait for a sale then you'll have to pearl up. personally I PO whatever is on sale even if I think I might not play that class anytime soon.
Either way I'd claim that the value return on the game is exceptional, especially if you just go with the route of waiting for a promotion to get it for free.
>how is the new player experience?

No wonder it looks like shit.
do they sell sex in the pearl shop?
Yes, haven't you seen some of the costumes?
I only need another pen disto until Im goal capped and can work exclusively on Tet Fallen God and Pen debos
did you tap the first one?
No I bought it. I'm trying to find the next thing to exploit and I'm just afk training during the event. I hate RNG and only roll on shit that's free on impossible to get otherwise
holy shit the abyss one questline is boring as shit. why did they lock universal storage behind it
PA hates bdo players that's why. Literally not a single soul ever asked for puzzles. They should have worked on Thornwood Castle instead.
I hate WoW but love FFXIV, is this game for me?
Its nothing like either.
No, the ERP scene is dead.
No this is open world with barely any theme park elements.
modded ffxiv shits on this game i dunno why you're even considering swapping.
Because FFXIV is Simon says with zero interactivity with characters or the environment besides cc freezes
Thinking about dumping Mystic and picking up Witch until the next tag even to grind Ash and Crypt.
i hate yellow shard spots so much ughhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh they're all SHIT
Naga and Bloody are great, wtf are you smoking
they're so fricking boring. i hate boring ass elvia serendia so much. the only spot there worth grinding for anything other than shards is orcs. i just want to finish these last 60 shards and go back to lower gyfin and jade. frick these awful ugly spots, even murrowak is more enjoyable
>bloody
dogshit tier spot literally got nerfed into being worse than nagas for silver and worse than bandits for shards. it's a shame what they did to it.
wow they really babyfied the earlygame huh
Everyone who has played over 2 years is 700gs now. Newbies need it.
>BRs ruining NA communities in WoW and FFXIV
Any examples?
Does housing works for a new player?
>sexy mods still working?
Oh yes.
>Does housing works for a new player?
Yes but getting some of the more fun items to decorate with will take time or money
Nice, is undertow still the best place to find them?
The patch that saved BDO.
>comments are turned off

OH NO NO NO NO
uooooh, strip dancing when
>try game
>spend 1 hour making huge breasts ninja anime girl
>ready for grand adventure
>story is just oneshotting trash mobs and autorun from npc to npc
>don't even realize there are different combos because they all get oneshot anyway
>story isn't even interesting
this is brainrot shit, how long is the main story? when does the game get good? I beat the red nose goblin boss and so far I have felt zero hook about the gameplay
Should probably at least wait for the next season to start before trying the game out.
Sadly with all the free stuff you get and how they've revamped the new player experience you're stuck in one-shot city for now and you won't unlock the full combo of your class until 59-60 however by 56 you will get more options. You can try out fully leveled classes in the trial tab in character selection.
Don't remember if new players can start in the winter region but that one gives you a quick recap of the story so far, has less fighting but more talking and levels you up faster.
you can rush level 1 to 56 by skipping everything story related in roughly 2 days and that's when the game actually starts.
and you're not even missing much the story is a huge nothing burger.
BDO is entirely a PVP game. anyone that says otherwise is wrong. the entire objective is nothing other than gearing up over months/years to pvp on equal footing along all the other maxed out idiots. If that isn't for you then play something else. BDO isn't for the story, I feel bad for morons that only experience gameplay through movie cutscenes. if that is you then give up before you waist your time
BDO is for PvP and lore of humans fricking fantasy creatures
It's disingenuous to call it a PvP game when most players ignore it and PA barely add any content for PvP the focus is on PvE. The devs laughed when a westerner asked for more red player contents during a Heidel ball.
>it's a pvp game
>but grind 1k+ hours first
>but do everything to kill open world pvp
>and do everything to make sure node wars and siege aren't good money
>and remove shadow arena because muh focus on pve bullshit
>and make sure guild politics never get too out of control
>and trash the 10v10 mode idea they had
>and take ages to bring AoS back around
>and rarely run any tournaments
>and have no idea how the pvp in their game even works
>and do the shittiest most moronic fricking balance changes imaginable
>and do everything they can to kill pvp build variety
>and have zero dev involvement/support for the pvp community/culture
haha nice pvp game
Pure delusion.
BDO is entirely a pvp game. anyone that says otherwise is wrong. the entire objective is to log in and queue for arena of solare until they remove it again for no fricking reason and then uninstall until they bring it back
last season proved that nobody really gives a frick about pvp in this game. introducing maegu and nerfing/buffing classes in the middle of an aos season was the most moronic shit they've done in years
Most of the buffing was PVE to be fair.
Does this game have any rare collectibles that you can show off or anything like that?
I just want to collect shit and show off.
you can get a tier 10 horse and flex on poorgays, and a big boat, but thats about it. you can only see armor if you dont have costumes equipped, so no real point in rare gear. however, really rare drops from enemies are playerbound, and you can show it off in server chat so i guess theres that.
>1 item bought
>Think it's the Corsair Kibelius
>It's a single rough sapphire
There were 3 preorders and I lost the roulette twice in the past two weeks. Hopefully I can get it before the sale is over.
>premium shai kibelius outfit
will it ever return? i regret never buying wings for my cute little shai
I honestly like her free tailored outfits more. I wish you could make something like her Drieghan outfit get premium costume benefits
Look
Basically I'm just not gonna do it (the grind to 720gs!!)
I'm sorry!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I know..... UGH I know.....
It's just that I'm not doing it is all!!!!
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
I'm currently 715gs and I'm going to push for debo during events and just do dailies while playing other games
>tfw getting a preorder for a transmog feels better than any PEN click or purchase
We endgame
frick it feels like black desert is actually dying and the devs are focused on single player instanced story narrative content instead of figuring out how to make the game feel like an mmo :~~*~~* i don't want bdo to die noooooooo
are you that desperate to bump the thread? the game is doing fine and has quite a lot of active players it's not dying yet.
>make the game feel like an mmo
this is a singleplayer grinding game with annoying autists interrupting your grind once in a while. what kind of content do you want?
lets discuss how many things there are that are so obscure but actually important
>tier 5 pets
>nouverkant armor set
i learned about these two from server chat, but apparently theres a bunch of other stuff that was added over the years that almost nobody talks about. anyone got any others?
the kzarka summon scroll that was recently made unobtainable (i think) with the latest trading rework. the vell summon scroll
Tier 5 pets are a relatively newer thing, but a page on the official website does document a lot of additions and changes over the years.
Best thing to do is to just press O, go to the suggested quest tab and then check out what looks interesting.
Nouver armor for the tier 4 nouver pet to exchange for the garmoth pet?
So is there any reason to use giants anymore?
Summer season is live, is there a /vm/ guild i can join?
I don't know of any guild...so I made one at least to hold as a shell for if some anons finally decide to come out of the marni server and hang out.
down to join, would love for some /vm/bros to do rifts with over the season.
Jealousy (NA)
>Jealousy
i applied.
You son of a b***h, I'm in.
Got my woosa to 56. awakening drops in 3 days, idk if i should succ or awake.
Welcome aboard anon, I promise to be gentle.
Like that anon, you too can be a part of the BIGGEST and BEST guild on /vm/. We've seen a 100% increase in membership in the last few days. Now's your chance to embrace FOMO, hop on the bandwagon and most importantly overcome your crippling social anxiety!
Musa and Maewha Awakening are tankier than Mystic Awakening. This spec is pathetic, either buff her AOE or make her tanky.
Just play succ mystic she's op unkillable unccable and faster than mae/musa.
This is the most wrong anyone has ever been. Mae and Musa are siege viable because they can spam forward F and survive. Mystic has a limited dash, shit AOE, and is only good as a CC bot unless it's 1v1.
aos is the only pvp that matters
>Mystic has a limited dash
A good succ mystic can keep up with an awk nova on excel, musa can't keep up without tiger blade because lol blader stam. She's fast as frick with reliable iframes, can out-stam both blader classes, has a grab and can perma slow. Succ mystic literally rapes bladers any day of the week and can do the same thing they can in nw/siege. Succ mystics outfrag musas often, only thing is that she's not maegu and not as easy as awk musa.
Man, only hot class is guardian. Just kidding, they are all hot as frick. Except shai. I know they wanted the elin audience but, it's not doing it.
Magnus single handedly killed all my motivation to play this game
Holy fricking shit
Who's the fricking worthless subhuman that thought this would be a good idea
it has to be fricking nepotism
it HAS to be
the payoff is huge though.
i deleted the game already, thought grinding would feel good again but nah
but that dogshit magnus was what broke this poor buck.
>filtered by the chamber of free stuff
more like filtered by the asiatic Black person hired through nepotism that thought "why don't we ignore our selling point (the fricking character mechanics and how fluid they are) and instead make morons crouch and walk around with a fricking pearl while some moronic glitched out shit detects them and forces them to restart"?
i literally got stuck early on because the fricking door closed and i glitched BACK into the previous room
seriously
make me grind 50k mobs instead of this shit
Yeah it really needs to be broken up and not done in one sitting. I don't even remember the first quest line, but I enjoyed the LotML pearl puzzle.
June 14th brothers
or why don't we put you in a fricking shit looking island so you can waste your time either pressing R on everything or waiting the slow Black personlicious ass firefly guide you to the area we want you to press R on anyway
wow what a fricking amazing quest, it's so much better than "grind 10 mobs" or "fetch this item for me" from every other mmo, it's so unique! look, you're building a raft woooooaah!!!!
it doesn't appeal to the only good point this game has, the grinding
it doesn't appeal to people interested in the story, there is none
it doesn't appeal to people that want puzzles, because the frickign quest itself tells the location of the shit
it doesnt appeal to stealth fans, crouching and avoiding a gigantic red circle isn't what i call "good stealth gameplay"
who does this appeal to?
would anyone ever touch this shit if it didnt give free stuff?
people wont touch me EVEN WITH the free fricking PEN
not to mention the fricking graphics are completely fricked if you dont play on remastered
and remastered is fricking dogshit because it feels like you spread vaseline over your fricking screen
frick yes i got filtered, filtered by being physically unable to play the equivalent of eating shit
remember when the game released? 500 morons at sausans, silver had weight, no fricking awakening, literally impossible to grind effectively as f2p because no pets/maids
went through all that, ate all that fricking shit with a smile
but i'm not fricking playing 140 quests of "crouch around these mobs" and "press R at the location we tell you" while enduring moronic rubberbanding and shit resetting/glitching out every fricking 5 minutes
ive played a lot of games, but this is the first time ive ever seen something like that
what's next? a fricking train simulator quest that gives free shit while you roleplay as the fricking conductor? with you character glitching out of the moving train and forcing you to suddenly reset of course, that's the secret spice
i already thought that lakiaros or whatever the shit its called was moronic but i could see that someone at least tried out the fricking thing before sending it to live, i dont think anyone tried out this dogshit questline
this is a fricking asiatic grinder, let me fricking spin around the mobs and shut the frick up
the story is shit, every other fricking mechanic is either shit, obsolete or shit AND obsolete
even pvp is dogshit but the combat flows so well i dont really care
oh also the abyss questline lets you access storages from anywhere on the map, and grants fast travel to all cities including valencia and the new one
Pit on Undying is so good for ez crons
is it actually? tell me more, how much do you usually get and how much do you spend time there? is it a daily thing or can I do it over and over again?
It's a daily thing that takes like 10-15 minutes at most for up to 100 crons per average day.
Idk thanks for reading my blog mulling over the future of bdo god I love this game so much
>first time on /vm/
>see BDO thread
is fookies here? lmao
nope
I miss fookies.
God, I can't believe i actually miss that creep.
does anyone post in the sardine discord anymore? i lost my account info so im not in it anymore
>eren
I keep returning to BDO when I remember how great the combat and visuals are.
But then I get reminded how awful the progression is and drop it again.
How can so many people just be okay with the way it works?
I'm talking about how you can spend days playing the game and get no closer to making your character stronger in any way.
>only several "endgame" equipment pieces which you can get by being RNG blessed or by hoarding tons of silver
>monsters mostly drop thing for selling or things you need for enhancing
>enhancing takes too much time and/or silver spent with a chance get absolutely nothing or even set you back
>lifeskilling, like many other things in the game, is fun if you like the process, but unless you're optimizing the hell out of it you're barely doing any progress
When AoS isn't in season this game is dead to me, same as
said. If they fixed the shit server lag and tried to do something to mitigate desync I would get back into capped wars but the nw scene is dry as shit and fake manufactured drama.
>mfw I am reminded that we couldn't always see enhancement success rates and hidden stats
This game used to be TRASH
they should give us a rbf daily for 100 crons since the whales are all disappearing for Diablo
Do I still get a VP when I first log in as a returning player?
and a ching chong nip nong to you too sir
this shitty ass buggy fricking game. I'm assuming something isn't rendering here because koreans dont know how to code
Are you gonna be her friend tho?
logged back into my Wizard after 2 years of not touching it and he's a sexy twink now instead of a grizzled old man? why?
Korean whales cried and PA bent the knee
this is what bdo is about
I want the two in the back, the two with pink dresses. The things I would do to their shai dicky...
what's the verdict on woosa awakening?
too much pet dmg so she's bad
She's ass and needs more costume that shows ass.
Sex where?
Here.
game sucks ass aos or some group mode please. please revive the guild scene ro do something that makes the game feel like an mmo, come on moron devs, budge.

why can't games just be a guarantee of fun like they used to be? frick.
corpos realized they can make a frickton of money without making a good game
>make a game 20 years ago
I did buy 250 despairs.
>He didn't abuse Saunil and Giants before they got disabled
Neither did I. In fact I accidentally tapped my tet disto raw after I got my wisdom teeth pulled.
I sttoped grinding 6months ago, only login rewards and casual garmoth vell, I will probably do the main new quest on my warrior and get the gloves, then try enchanting them to just duo, too late to buy some memory fragments they went to the moon on preorders
you should just run saunil scroll with guildies. Easy 300+ mems from free scroll handouts
And ONCE AGAIN they put these dogshit """""stealth"""" quests that NO ONE likes.
Fricking glitched piece of shit, they haven't learned anything.
These quests suck, just let me boss rush and life skill. I just want to snipe deer.
brehs
valkyrie or drakania?
i am new, i just want to be comfy and do some exploration, do life skills and coom.
valkyrie has pretty armour but drakania movement looks very fun.
which one bros..
Drak unless you're good at 180s with your mouse
i play fps i think i should be ok
>mentally challenged
in the sense that valkyrie is that easy to play so hard to frick up,
or that drakania is just a moron pick
valk is an og class and it shows in her key inputs so she's pretty janky. braindead ez in low end pve, takes a little more effort in high end content. good in pvp as an ult bot but becomes high apm when you actually have to learn her kit. really good pvp class
drak is more modern so prob easier to learn for new players, not as good as valk in low end but idk how good she is in high end, probably average. great in pvp too and gets a pseudo-flight skill.
Valk if you're not mentally challenged.
>launch game
>immediately crashes
>launch again
>same issue
I guess I won't come back for this update.
Hope it's better than the shitty snowzone at least.
catch yall niggies later I'm gonna play some pso2 instead
>Le twist

Great story, wouldn't play again
I haven't played since 25th April, besides yesterdays update and the Woosa awakening is there anything else new and noteworthy?
I'll skim the earlier patch notes anyway
I want to drop steam and use standalone client.
anyone knows what to do to get the credentials? I guess I should contact support
Chris Poli is cute
Unironically want to donate to Chris Poli after I found out he did a guide for all these fricking Dokkebi boxes. Frick Dokkebi and frick fantasy Korea. I hope their princess gets locked in a room with every Shai main.
>over 3 and half minutes faster than the next guy in my class for the boss rush
Yeah, I'm getting those rank 1 rewards on Sunday.
i just cant man
i cant fricking play through this dogshit magnus
jfc
>magnus
But anon, you haven't even made it to M. Nightu Shamlamadingdong's Corean-themed ^_^ (We Numbah One!!!) Carnival Island!
Ohh I did get to it, made a new frickign character, saw that fricking dogshit stealth part and dropped it instantly.
I'm
you can just roll to the wall without caring
the real bad part is the shitty boar fetch quests that repeat
Unironically wish for a grind in circle spot. Even if it's just one group spot with random boss spawns and one solo spot.
If I'm gathering meat myself (sheep or wolf) what's good to cook with that?
just sell it. you would need guru cooking to cook the meals that are actually profitable. if you ARE guru, then i think balenos meals? or king of the jungle hamburg.
Oh I just found out about the new Guru meal in the new expansion, it's super easy too make compared to the others.
I don't know where the happy medium is, just glad it's almost over.
bro something is wrong on your side what the frick
Yeah.
Later updates probably.
Dunno how the Korean base feels about it but it's clear they left themselves some options in case they want to go that way in the future, there's clearly space for it in some spots + mob assets to put in there ie golden pig mine, bandit camp, bari forest, etc.
Lifeskill supremacy
>Lifeskill supremacy
>people are making close to 2b/h with hunting now
Why didn't I level hunting..
I love how the number always become bigger, soon lifeskillers will be making 20b/h
We are officially EU. I haven't gotten an outfit preorder in 6 days.
>Why didn't I level hunting..
everytime I level a lifeskill to follow a trend it gets cucked. Barterbros when will it be our day in the sun again.....
At least you have Garmoth hearts
is this playable with friends? looking for a new game to play
I always liked playing with friends and PvPing every now and then
Seen some vids of thise game, looks cool but I've also heard it's brutally p2w, is f2p viable?
f2p is incredibly viable with seasonal characters. the only """"""pay to win"""""" is just buying costumes to break them down into cron stones to use for enhancements. you can buy costumes with silver from the player market, or just buy cron stones raw for silver (although at a slightly higher cost per cron stone)
sort of. no raids yet, but there are some decent midgame grindspots for groups. going boating with the bros is always fun, but thats different for each person. and then theres always the node wars / red battlefield. or u can just rp on kama 3 with some shais in heidel with some music.
>VP, kama, secret book
subscriptions which gives smaller buffs, you rarely get them from events nowadays but they can be bought for silver if you're lucky enough to win the preorder
>all t4 pets
You can buy them for silver and rarely from events and 1 t1 every season but it will take time to buy since it's one of the most important things to get if you want to grind and a lot of other players want them as well
>all the extra gear you could buy from selling costumes
>all the extra attempts from crons and money saved by melting costumes
>money saved from using artisan's memory when enhancing
>p2w tent a hell of a lot easier access to extra buffs and repairs
The tent can't be bought for silver only premium currency
>fairy skill resets
Unless you're lucky or want to waste a lot of billions it will take forever to get the best skills. I personally still haven't got the best ones and I've been playing as f2p since the game released
>hedgehog extra loot when lifeskilling pretty meh but it's still an advantage
>more maids saving travel time and easier inventory management
>life skill costumes
>character based inventory and weight
If you are NA and you're not pre-ordering pets on tbe mp you're trolling lol, anyone should be able to get 5 t3-t4 pets eventually just through the market.
also
>fairy rolls
Unless you're just extremely spoiled, cheer V should be perfectly fine and you don't need to pay any real money to reroll entire fairies if you don't get it by lv50. It's also not very expensive at all to level up, release, and repeat. The auto pot is necessary, everything else is a bonus.
Alternatively if you're a lifeskiller, you don't need cheer V and can go with feathery steps instead.
there is something weird about the graphics in this game that makes my eyes hurt
also that the timer of farm plots doesnt progress offline its worst than facebook tier games
What's the max energy now?
Is there an active EN wiki for this game or am I just going to be forced to join a groomcord to figure the game out?
Press F2, the in game help is really good.
There's the bdocodex website where you can find info on most stuff, then there's lots of guide available as well.
I don't really get the big deal with discord besides the information there not being indexed on search engines which is more of a problem with garbage modern internet than anything.
>people tell me to join a class Discord
>requires "discord phone number verification"
>turns out that all class discords is just a clique that circlejerk the popular people
>any information or tips that's not from the clique are pretty much bullied out
Only place where BA nerds test and report their results.
Does anyone know the percentage chances for blitz rewards? Is it even worth it to fight C6 and 7?
>A guru cook is now rice on rice with cheap water, 2 garlic, and 3 pieces of meat times 12
no math needed, this is the cheapest guru meal in the game by a country mile
And it's SUPER easy to make compared to the other guru meals. The amount of effort to do rice meals compared to the other guru meals is light years.
What's the meal called?
Moodle Gukbap
the frick did you just call me? i'll gukbap ur mum ya fockin c**t
Frick, Byeot County Gukbap is also really good if you have 4 CP to invest.
It isn't. It's less than half the profit of a balenos meal for the same amount of meat. It's like carrot confit, it doesn't receive bonus procs. 1 craft = 1 result.
Das right silly go- I mean fellow players. Stop making Gukbap and keep doing Balenos!
>doesn't know how to do math
Mhm.
>meal that takes no effort at all to do and takes lot less materials is not worth as much as a meal that takes hundred times more effort to do and way more different materials
NO WAY!?
>effort
>materials
So as I said, you don't know how to do math.
Balenos meal
>Need Milk which you need to farm manually
>Three different farm mats that's always sold out which you need to farm manually
>meat
>fish you will never have enough of
Moodle
>Garlic you need to have farms for
>meat
>digging yourself in deeper
This is now doubly embarrassing for you.
I've been doing Balenos meals for years at this point without doing any farming. It's not a requirement.
>look at pepper in the marketplace
>over half a million preorders
hmmmmm
Just do your bonus missions? I've gotten so much High-Quality Pepper from just doing Balenos and Grilled Chicken that I've sold large sums of it.
>look at onions
>look at hot-pepper
yeah sure you do, maybe if you cook like 10 meals a day.
Still got a large batch ready to go, but I'm waiting for an event with a cooking time reduction to go for 1.3s 2000 mastery.
>onions
>half a million preorder
>can get enough through marketplace
yeah, but now lets talk about cooking more than 10meals a day.
I've been cooking on average way over 5000 meals per day for years. Maybe it's a skill issue. Not to mention again that you can still buy the sub-meals if you lack any or buy the higher quality mat to downgrade. Not that I really needed to do it, but it is still an option.
Yeah sure you have dude, you have 30+ workers catching fish for you to do that as well or do you magically buy fish from the marketplace as well?
I've had some workers on fish. It's not ideal, but I didn't bother to optimize that much as I still have 100 free contribution points I didn't even bother spending, other than that I get decent amount of Scorpion fish on preorders and sometimes Herring, but whatever, if you won't take my word for it there's no point, just let me repeat that it's possible to overfill your imperial deliveries without any farming.
Yeah I'll just get some onions, surely I'll get enough and don't have to wait ages as there's 500000 preorders for it
The thing with preorders is that they often come in waves. You can have days and weeks with barely any and days when you can get multiple. Sometimes you could even get times when all preorders got filled and you could get shittons at the same time, but that's always been pretty rare. That's where the downgrades come in handy, sure they do eat into the profit, but it's still very doable.
Just farm your own shit lol that's what I did when I was into cooking
Why are you spreading misinformation? Is this just a ruse attempt?
What misinformation?
That you need to gather milk on alts.
>Not only does Balenos meal not use milk
>but both milk and cheese it actually uses are
hmm.....
dude you get like 200k milk a week from byproducts just cooking casually. it's 2023, who even worries about milk anymore? preorders fill constantly too. play the game.
I'm glad to see that there are people more autistic than myself playing this game. The guy you're replying to is joking.
That's not how you do Balenos meals.
the pve iframe patch made it so boss fights are actually sorta fun so this update isn't bad in terms of new kind of content to waste your time with. I'm actually looking forward to trying all the different boss fights with different classes. are the rewards any good though?
the rewards are very fricking good
Agreed.
Capra my chest to level 10 or split my caphras between my gear equally?
If you can immediately turn it into FG and get it to at least DUO then that's the better option I believe
rush fallen god, glove then helm, c10 boot last
Thanks will do
So now in addition to Dark Rifts every week we gotta go to china and do chinese dark rifts?
>nooooooooo stop giving us good content
Chinese dark rifts are fun. Dark rifts suck. They finally learned how to make good boss battles
All my homies hate dark rifts.
Ching chong bing wong Chinese rift make you play game long, long time!
COREA NUMBAH WAN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Why would you still do dark rifts? There's no reason to do them unless you want to.
I got 1/20th of a Deboreka earring from five Calamity 6 C1 rewards. That was the only special drop I got from 15 rewards (10 from books)
>old Adventure journal knowledge you've still not obtained have a detailed description hinting where to find the knowledge
>morning light adventure journal knowledge you've not obtained yet just says "Can be obtained through [Interaction]"
>there's like 500 interactions in total in the morning light
This and the chest shit is like they've designed the new zone with forcing you to use a guide in mind.
They need the community to write the guide. The developers have no idea what they created and are simply praying their Korean overlords won't cut their rations...again.
Despite all the flaws BDO has, it still baffles me how far ahead it is compared to any other MMO when it comes to be a great open world game. The entire game is fully open world except for a very few instances, the world is huge and filled with stuff and feels really alive. You can nearly interact with every NPC and most of them has a little backstory and lore on their own. Mos of the trees, rocks, flowers and such you see in the world is intractable and serves a purpose, the mount system is great (but sad they pretty much totally abandoned horse combat).
the combat system and control scheme is pretty underrated imo
Since Meagu is ded what class are we going to abuse next? Woosa?
Just do like everyone else and play Berserker, it has always been OP since BDO was released and never in a bad state.
Woosa was better than Maegu at endgame posts, so Woosa followed by succ Zerker and succ Hash
just play shai 😀
You guys have a favorite chinese dark rift boss yet?
None since I haven't played the game in almost two months, but this seems like a good time to come back
Enjoy your FFXIV tier forced story bullshit before you can play any of the new boss content
Oduksini
I happened to pick it up after pivoting from Chengui. DPS rush with some must-avoid mechanics. Straightforward and fun, snagged two #1s for my effort. Feels good.
Gumiho, feels rewarding as frick to clear her.
Anyone have tips on beating Sangoon or Duoksini?
Gumiho so far, feels hard but still fair. Duoksini is just pure bullshit
Sangoon because I like big cats
the fox is bullshit. maybe you're not meant to do them without adding orbs but I kept hitting enrage on the first difficulty setting. and frick that no windup instant circle aoe fire attack she does, the fight slows to a crawl because you have to pussyfoot around her in case she pulls that out of her ass
>log in
>fricking can't
>try to recover password
>"Please check your account."
>no fricking mail
Why are mmorpg companies so shit at this? I couldn't play FFXIV because of this bullshit either.
When's the last time you logged in?
Nobody needs to write an essay on the goddamn recipe meta.
>thinks the cookgays are gymbros and not spreadsheet nerds
meet bigandshiny's 90 page essay on bdo's pve damage formula
https://docs.google.com/document/d/1ikkAhwMTdrz1Z7PMuzRBjyGttrk20eFdMTstMTOunqo/edit
>90 pages of speculation without back-end API access
Just autism.
The guy is actually autistic, he's a legit mathematician and has been at it since the game released. Everything he's done is pretty on the mark too and the basis of what is known about BDO is from him, it's impressive how he comes up with all of this shit. He figured the game out so nobody else had to.
Wish I had cool autism like that. Mine only extents to the inability of speaking to women.
And it's cool but that's not exactly the same as taking a vairable I/O production system and debating the merits of one approach or another, let alone arguing for ideal methods. AP & DP = Damage or Not Damage. It's not really a parallel or equivalent discussion.
bro apparently works in engineering rockets and is legit autistic
If the developers don't endorse it, doesn't matter.
turns out his formula was wrong because he based it off false information anyway lmao
>option 1: 2.5x the profit over option 2
>"here's how you do option 1 so you can make a lot more mone-"
>"REEE STOP!! ARE YOU AUTISTIC?? LEAVE ME ALONE!!! GYMBROS!!"
What a weird way to live.
Every single day I wonder if I'm just better at this game than everyone else, and then I see people farming potion pieces and realize yes, yes I am.
>Balenos meals are not worth it
>just buy all the materials and meals from the marketplace and cook yourself
yeah...nice profit there. Might as well do Gukbap.
Also using byproducts on Milk.
Funny how this guy claims he cooks like 10000x meals per day and somehow manage to never run out of mats at all.
>somehow
It's called playing the game. It's not a mystery, you can do it yourself.
I too love it when I get materials out of thin air
The ways of getting mats have been outlined numerous times already. Works on my machine. You can either do them or don't and that's pretty much it.
>just buy everything from the marketplace
>even stuff that has over 500000 preorders
>btw I cook 10h per day so getting 10 pepper from preorders per day is enough for me
Skill issue. Maybe you're just too moronic to play the game even after being literally told what to do numerous times. (You can preorder, you can downgrade mats, you can get mats with bonus missions, you also get them with dailies, you can farm them yourself) I guess not everyone is of at least average intelligence.
>just buy everything on the marketplace
So....just buy Balenos meals and turn to crates?
You can do that, but then you're not getting any profit from cooking apart from mastery levels.
>In addition to new hunting grounds, we also want to make changes to the existing hunting grounds.
>we want to try something completely different. Focusing on the ‘difficulty selection’ applied to the Black Shrine, you can choose a specific hunting ground according to your current attack and defense.
This could be interesting I wonder how they'll frick it up.
Is "hunting ground" a mistranslation of "grind zone" or is it specifically talking about Hunting-lifeskill-related content?
grind zone
every few quests im unable to interact with anything in the new region and have to relog. Everytime there's new content in this game its buggy. Why cant koreans into computers
Was having this issue too. Didn't even bother reporting, stopped occurring when the quests stopped. Thankfully hasn't affected any of the shrine bosses.
don't gotta relog just have to click the settings cog butto nat the bottom. it's annoying as frick
The frick are you morons doing? Repair your game, it's not like this for anyone else.
moron
My man, it's probably Windows 11 or something fricked up on PA's end. Why are you defaulting to blaming the end user?
Do NOT cancel your sniper rifle reload animation to make double the money.
You WILL get banned and have the incredible amount of super money you made with a simple exploit deducted from your market storage.
>double the money.
I went there and made 200mil and I don't understand how people get much more? Is it just because they have high mastery?
They said that about saunil elites
and giants
They fricking disabled giants and nobody got banned
Can anyone explain to me how Berserker has consistently stayed as the best class in the game since the launch without any real nerfs?
Sniper hunting is always full of people
Hunting went from meta moneymaking to over-saturated and irrelevant in about a week.
You should be a writer lul
>another off-hand hunter steals my boss
I'm going to go red in Beombawi
So what would be the best value pack for a new player? Inventory slots? Things that are permanent if possible
Otherwise just buy exactly what I said in
if you're looking to get the absolute most value out of your pearls atm.
Btw it would be helpful if I knew what you already have, how many pets and so on.
I have nothing yet, fresh start. My old witch never went over lv 10
Ignore those homosexuals, don't buy anything at all until you're at least level 56 preferably level 60 by then you'll know if you want to stick around or not.
They asked, moron. If I knew they were brand new I would have told them to hold off on paying for anything.
I have a 50% off outfit coupon also the starter pack is 95% off, that's a deal, right?
Does outfits stats matter or can I pick anything that looks good
Also no 6k pearl box for my server
You may also consider Theiah's Orbs to roll your fairy for Miraculous Cheer V and/or Feathery Steps, but how much you want to spend is really just up to you, they're drip-fed from time to time and you can reroll your fairies with wine/wings.
man, every time I see a BDO thread crop up I'm amazed how it's the only korean MMO to survive and thrive all these years later.
it's bizarro world where the devs actually care about the game.
Feels like the only game where things have improved with time instead of just getting worse
Less than 5 hours until we get zero cheers on our boss rewards

I'm not seeing the issue...? Kinda bright though.
>Shai get all the craftable outfits
>Shai get to make custom music
>Shai get a variety of dance emotes
Literally a different game playing Shai. They need to at least give us Drieghan outfits
>Shai players complain about their nerfs gutting the class
>It's still top 3 on all bosses
Dogshit players that just cry. Never ever trust a Shai, they are as bad as DK players.
Unacceptable Class Listu

>Only the ones I play

i wish more ppl talked about bdo. games like wow and ffxiv and gachashit and fortnite or minecraft have active generals but bdo never does. the bdo forum is full of ESL whiners and the bdo reddit is full of bitter veterans and coomers. hell even fricking maplestory has a somewhat active general and reddit and forums but bdo talk feels soooo dead. guess there isn't much to talk about but is there anything to talk about in any game? I've never used discord for anything other than bdo boss timers and have considered using it just to have some more internet ppl to talk to about bdo but something about discord just feels off.
it's shit grinder game anon, there is nothing to talk about
>omg dude i almost enhanced my thingy today but failed and lost 20 billion oh well back to grinding the exact same monster i grind 6 hours a day every single day!
That's how I feel about wow and ffxiv
At least wow, as bad as it's gotten, is still mildly entertaining to around from time to time on a little pretend adventure killing various types of monsters and completing a few quick daily quests. I really hate how BDO has this weird ass fricking design of ALL monsters each being relegated to one specific zome each, with nothing else BUT that type of monster there. That is just so fricking weird and boring.
I'm not really sure what you mean, is your issue that the mobs aren't spread out enough around the world?
There are definitely bots in the game, seen many of them myself but they're uncommon because of how easy it is to interrupt them. Often times they don't get caught for a while 'cause pve players see a white dot and immediately run
Breeya still does this btw I see them in rbf every now and then. Even though they changed their name it's so obvious who it is.
How are they not banned yet when like half the servers know they bot?
>Breeya still does this btw I see them in rbf every now and then. Even though they changed their name it's so obvious who it is.
What does he gain from this? Just the cahpra dust from the quests? Is it really worth to risk your account for that?
I guess he's not risking the account isn't he, since he didn't get ban yet.
I'd say it's still not worth to use bots, this is nowhere near as bad as in Lost Ark, and these kind of bots don't ruin the market for us either, unless they grind infinite silver to endgame upgrades?
In a game / space where you can buy power it's not too much surprise you could possibly buy your way out of repercussions too.
bdo is weird, all discussion about the game happens in the game itself over the global/server chats or random class discords
bdo is much more of a singleplayer game than any of the games you mentioned. if theres any conversations, its just wanting to know where a certain guide is, what mob does what, etc etc etc.
>bdo is much more of a singleplayer game than any of the games you mentioned.
Have you actually played any of those?
ive played ffxiv, some gachas, and am in the mcg thread pretty often. never really got into maplestory because of the controls, but i have a rough idea of the community in each of the games.
ffxiv is like the single most singleplayer MMORPG out there. I know because I play it.
Anyone know what bamboo sprout is used for?
Duokinshi has people stuck. They need to make the flames more visible tbh
The fights with floor spawned mechanics are those causing the most difficulty. It's not rocket science, it's just bad mechanic execution and in-game signaling. Can't avoid what you don't realize is hitting you. Turn down the graphics and you cannot see these effects at all.
musa or berserker for this new boss content?
Not really the way to think about it. Rather, what class can you play well and also want to do so? Regardless of your pick you're still competing against others of the same class.
Not sure if there's truly accurate "data" on what classes steamroll the content versus which struggle. Seems like if you can't pilot a character well it's not going to matter what you pick.
gotcha. I like playing zerker more but I figured musa's iframe would be easier to time/control in boss type content
also how do I get more of these? finished the storyline and got 2 I'm assuming the frickos with sub 30 second times have more than me
Cap right now is 5 plus the one guaranteed in every track.
This was years ago. I can't find an actual video
Problem with this game he touches in the fighting game community. You got a lot of salty b***hes in fightan games.
Yea but even then at least fighting gamers want to fight each other. The corsair seemed like they didn't want anything to do with pvp and had no clue what they were doing. Like b***h why are you on fricking seasonal arsha at a potion spot if you don't want to pvp. Pvpers are actually typically nice too
some ppl try to go on arsha because they're less populated so they can grind, but that also comes with the expectation that people will fight you for grind spots. which i think is rather fun
>he doesn't go on psychotic tirades over the most inane bullshit

>spend 24 hours and 20 meju on a worker to make basedbean paste + onions sauce

there's some sidequests that take skewers or whatever but big frickin deal, you make or buy 100 of those and you're set for life

Why the frick does Dolswe have an american accent it really doesn't fit in
Ah, he's putting on an act of being a low level buffoon, which for Koreans means acting (and sounding) like an American.
One shot mechanics that are impossible to see without turning up your effects but doing so also makes your own characters effects take up the whole screen..
alive game, and you can be sure it's alive because there are virtually no bots
I barely see people in-game anymore lol
Everyone is doing the story shit which is a bunch of instances
Revently been seeing season and olvia servers marked as crowded during prime-time so there are more players than usual
