We will still be waiting forever for a translation. I will avoid these threads like the plague when it comes out.
I'll probably end up dropping Ganker entirely. Don't want to risk it.
And how's unusual_felines anyway? Still MIA?
Has there been any news on English translations? Is there any hope for a concurrent English release?
How long did the English translations for BS1 and BS2 take?
For the official translation, Black souls I took 1 year, 8 months, 29 days and 1 year, 7 months, 27 days for Black souls II
As far as I'm aware for fan translation it always was just a bit before the official translation
>fan translation it always was just a bit before the official translation
How good/bad were those?
Edited MTL
Bad. BS2's MTL completely fricked 0 SEN dialogue.
Beat 2 a couple weeks ago and lore researching since then.
I don't get why the ending G loop failed
It failed because Grand Guignol used their connection to Grimm to rewind time to give him another chance to fuse with each other. It's like an actual time rewind I think and not like the "loops" that happen in the other endings where it's all apart of the plan. I think the only people aware of it is Mabel, Cheshire Cat, and maybe Prickett and Node
You're partially right, it was GG's soul bond with Grimm that was responsible for bringing him back, but it wasn't a cycle since time wasn't rewound post-G. Mabel brings this up briefly in DLC 3.
If misery is inevitable, let me be the only one to shoulder it.
Black Souls III will be the best game ever made when it comes out in 2067.
We will most likely be getting a very kino final rematch with either
(or both) TCO or Mary Sue.
>final rematch
>TCO or Mary Sue
There's no chance in hell those are going to be our final matchups. Mary's had her power to change taken from her and her divinity as a Black personman revoked already, she's going to be a major plot element but she's not final boss material in the fricking slightest. TCO's still potentially going to be trapped by Yog in the Chaos Dungeon if Yog has their way about it, and more generally they're too lost in the role of Alice to pose a significant threat, even in BS2 Grimm's strong enough to kill TCO (and Mary, for that matter) in G.
I said final rematch, not final boss. As in our last bout with them, but I do see where you're coming from. And yeah, Mary's way less likely, but I'm just saying I liked punching the fairy in 2.
Ah, my bad. In my defense I'm running on about 2 hours of sleep. Having the option to punch Mary is practically guaranteed in BS3, but in all seriousness there's basically nothing she can do besides going demonbeast again just like she does in the reverse route in BS2. If she had any other trump cards I'd have imagined she would have used them post-BS1 D or in the reverse route, though I suppose there's still the outside chance of Jabber pulling some bullshit plan off considering her obsession with Black Soul/s and having Mary as one of her pet projects.
If anything, I think TCO is going to be less likely to be fought than Mary is. I can see them being in whatever BS3's Chaos Dungeon is because of Yog, but outside of EMMM bullshitting a reason to fight (like having us kill every single other non-Prickett part of TCO to save her) I don't think there's much room post-BS2 for fighting TCO. There are still notable gaps in the timeline though, including the tea party (and before it) and the early timeline and cycles of BS2, so if time travel's going to be a thing for BS3 like it has been for BS1 and BS2, those periods would probably be the best shot to have a fight with TCO in.
Your post did make me wonder who would actually be the final boss of BS3? My bet is something original, actually. I imagine there would at least several different final bosses because of alternate endings and such.
Milton/Hastur are the most obvious bets at the moment, considering BS2's foreshadowing about them, but they're far from the only options. If we get the chance to go full SMT IV White route there's always the possibility of saying frick everything and waking up Azathoth ourselves (and presumably running through a boss rush of whoever still gives a shit about preventing it, like Yog), though it'd be pretty fricking hard for EMMM to justify that narratively considering Grimm's current characterization. Considering the aforementioned timeline gaps, it's still possible that the true final boss fight won't even take place during the Black personman war. TCO fell to Earth, greatly injured and with their blood raining down from the skies in the memory flame after all, and this is before they were lost in the role of Alice and nerfed as a result of that too, so there's something out there that's more than capable of seriously injuring a full power TCO before the tea party happens.
I can see Milton play a big role in 3, since it does make sense that BS3 will thematically take from Paradise Lost, but I don't see him as a final boss. Who knows? I also agree with what you said regarding the hypothetical "wake Azathoth route," because it wouldn't make a lot of sense, plus it would feel like a shitty ending. I don't think we have all the pieces of the puzzle yet; we do have at least 2 more games coming out before 3. It's still fun to think about, though.
I could totally be behind the King in Yellow himself being a final boss.
The thing right now is that Milton and Hastur are pretty closely linked in BS2. Also worth noting, Milton's called the God of Sheep in BS2, while Hastur was originally a god of shepherds in the story he was introduced in (Haita the Shepherd). Both have a presence in the Nursing Graveyard and even the base game as well, and I don't believe they're fighting each other with what we know of the situation either.
I may be stupid, but when I first read the "God of Sheep" message in the DLC, I thought it referred to Hastur and not Milton. I did notice that there were quite a good amount of items in the game that relate to both of them, I just didn't really catch on to how connected they actually were. I may need to replay BS2 again soon. Thanks, anon.
The Templar set (found just outside of Lorina's castle, with a probably relevant bloodstain message next to it) pretty concretely identifies Milton as said God of Sheep. Jekyll's dialogue isn't the only source for shit related to this, though admittedly it is quite helpful.
Sometimes I forget this game was inspired by Dark Souls and that even item description help with figuring out basic shit.
Item descriptions can be critical for information on some otherwise incredibly obscure shit, at least once you know what you're looking for and know what they're fricking talking about in the first place. Definitely give those another look through at some point.
It doesn't even feel like souls. It's a very different experience. NOT a bad thing by the way, love this game to bits. In fact I would be more hyped by BS3 than anything in triple A gaming.
>spoiler
I disagree completely. Mary has been built up since the first Red game. Her story is intertwined with Grimm's too much, they are the face of Black Souls. Narratively speaking, odds are she's gonna be either final boss, secret boss or have some involvement in the grand finale.
TCO is probably not gonna be important, I'll give you that. His arc functioned as a prelude and set up to the war and stuff.
>Narratively speaking, odds are she's gonna be either final boss, secret boss or have some involvement in the grand finale.
Of the three, the only one with any real chance right now is the last one. There's no chance she's final boss material, unless EMMM chooses to have her as a boss that doesn't even pose a real threat to Grimm. She was an actual threat to him back in BS1, but she has been almost completely depowered in the time since. On the subject of power levels, even a full power Mary readily loses to TCO post-role nerf, and we still killed that post-role nerf TCO in G.
There are two games before BS3 and the whole game itself where EMMM can do anything to make Mary a real threat.
That's the real problem with trying to predict the story for BS3, we only have half the puzzle, who knows if the real big baddie is gonna show up in the princesses' game? What if the whole Black Trial gets completely and finally dealt with in Red's game and they proceed to have no impact in BS3? It's plainly impossible to tell.
That said, I find it foolish to think that Mary will not have a crucial role in BS3, not only because she's arguable the most important character in the series, but because it would continue the common theme of motherhood present in every game.
In Red's game the final boss is the grandmother - granted this is quite flimsy and I believe EMMM realized it and that's why Red's grandma gets replaced by Elizabeth who is her mother -, in BS1 every final boss is some form of evil mother and BS2 entire plot revolves around birthing an army of children. There is a clear pattern and escalation of a singular theme.
Mary is Grimm's mother, she created the amalgam of souls we know and love, and if I am to put my two cents of what BS3 may be about, is gonna have something to do with unjamming the soul potluck and dealing with the person who caused it.
I could also see some sort of redemption considering how BS2 took some danger out of Mary and inserted it into others and how we were given some justification for her actions. Showing a bigger threat and giving backstory is textbook redemption foreshadowing, but I'm not as sure about this point.
My point is, Riff > Red > Alice in terms of heroine importance and no one can deny it.
>There are two games before BS3 and the whole game itself where EMMM can do anything to make Mary a real threat.
There are, but all signs currently point towards Mary not being a threat at all, for now and in the foreseeable future. She had her power to change taken from her and her divinity as a Black personman permanently revoked by TCO and Node. It's flat out said that she will never again hold dominion as a Great One. Clearly, Mary still has the desire to escape and try to regain her powers somehow, but EMMM would have to seriously stretch to find a way to remotely justify a sudden (and absolutely fricking massive) power up for Mary.
>What if the whole Black Trial gets completely and finally dealt with in Red's game and they proceed to have no impact in BS3?
That is extremely unlikely, Red's game almost certainly takes place before the events of BS2. You'd have to rely on that ADV that supposedly releasing alongside the game for something like that to be revealed, and I still doubt it'd happen considering Lindamea still exists.
>That said, I find it foolish to think that Mary will not have a crucial role in BS3
I never said she wouldn't have an important role in BS3, in fact I said the exact opposite earlier. What I am saying is that I cannot see a reasonable way for Mary to 1) suddenly become a threat when even BS1 Grimm was able to fight with her in C (on top of canonically getting blown the frick out by TCO, who we readily beat in BS2) and 2) become final boss material at all considering her current state and the available options for her. Mary's not going from 0 to 100, she's somehow going from deep in the negatives to well over even TCO's strength if she's going to be a threat in BS3.
>My point is, Riff > Red > Alice in terms of heroine importance and no one can deny it.
Now this is just bias.
>There is a clear pattern and escalation of a singular theme.
I'd say there's a far greater emphasis on toxic family relationships. Motherhood exists as a concept in BS, but it's too narrowly focused in the grand scheme of things.
>redemption
As much as I hate to say it, this is probably going to be required for the good (or whatever passes for good in this series) outcome in BS3. I expect any conflicts with Mary to be emotional first and foremost, rather than her being an actual physical threat.
DLC 3 only.
There are, but all signs currently point towards Mary not being a threat at all, for now and in the foreseeable future. She had her power to change taken from her and her divinity as a Black personman permanently revoked by TCO and Node. It's flat out said that she will never again hold dominion as a Great One.
Even if she's not a Great One she can still pose a real threat. Lindamea, Red, Grimm, all real powerhouses who are not Great Ones.
Besides, discussing this steps closely into power calling territory and that has never been a focus in Black Souls, choosing to put the narrative over everything, or are you trying to say that Carnacki, Gerda and Nightingale are meant to be as strong as GG and not a set piece.
At the end of the day, if EMMM makes Mary the final boss, he's got no reason to explain how she's a threat greater than a piece of dialogue saying she's still very powerful when outside of someone else's garden or have Grimm be hesitant in the fight.
I really don't see how supposed, abstract power should be a factor in BS3, are you saying Lindamea shouldn't be a threat? How about Helkaiser? All these should be way weaker than Grimm.
>Clearly, Mary still has the desire to escape
She already escaped though. At the end of ending H you can see her flying across the screen and giving a heart.
>That is extremely unlikely,
Logically, yes. It was just an example of how we have no idea what will happen.
>I'd say there's a far greater emphasis on toxic family relationships.
And I would say that the amount of focus on mothers is far greater but at this point it'd be just a fight of interpretations and opinions and that leads nowhere.
>As much as I hate to say it,
Now THAT'S bias.
>Even if she's not a Great One she can still pose a real threat. Lindamea, Red, Grimm, all real powerhouses who are not Great Ones.
She is anything but a powerhouse, even before she had her power to change and divinity taken from her. Node flat out states that she had to step in to save Mary's life, as if she didn't step in there would have been nothing left of Mary. We know quite well what Mary is capable of by now and it's nothing compared to the actual heavy-hitters in the series. I mentioned before that if there's anything that could give Mary that boost in strength it'd have to be some 10D keikaku from Jabber revolving around Black Souls, but the odds of that actually happening are slim at best.
>Besides, discussing this steps closely into power calling territory and that has never been a focus in Black Souls
Like hell it hasn't, it just hasn't gone full shounen-tier moronic about it. The entire point of the Chaos Dungeon is basically having Mabel feed you as many steroids (souls) as possible to get Grimm's soul as strong as it possibly can be for what's about to go down in the future. Lest you forget, Mabel's about as interested in Black Souls as Jabber is, and the stronger your soul is the more powerful you are in the series.
>At the end of the day, if EMMM makes Mary the final boss, he's got no reason to explain how she's a threat greater than a piece of dialogue saying she's still very powerful when outside of someone else's garden or have Grimm be hesitant in the fight.
Except even when inside her own garden, at full power, she couldn't hold a candle to TCO. You really need to fricking keep that in mind, that's a hard benchmark for Mary's performance as a combatant. This isn't full power TCO either, it's TCO after being lost in the role of Alice. Trying to blow it off as saying "she's still very powerful when outside of someone else's garden" flies in the face of what we've seen and heard about already, and Grimm didn't hesitate when choosing to fight/kill her in BS1 C or BS2 G either, despite clearly still loving her enough for BS2 F to be a possibility.
>are you saying Lindamea shouldn't be a threat? How about Helkaiser? All these should be way weaker than Grimm.
Both are weaker than Grimm, but Lindamea at least is still stronger than Mary is in BS2. Helkaiser's midboss material, stubborn as frick but that's about it, there's a reason why he's stuck benchwarming in the Chaos Dungeon.
>She already escaped though.
Yes, I already know. She's been trying to do it from the moment she got trapped and finally succeeds in H.
You're completely missing the point I'm trying to make and arguing specifics of something from which specifics we know nothing about.
>10D keikaku from Jabber revolving around Black Souls, but the odds of that actually happening are slim at best.
Or something will happen in the three full games, plus dlc, plus whatever other material EMMM releases in the next decade.
Again missing the point and arguing specifics. Those were examples of any number of possible explanations we could have. Another could be: "Mary uses something introduced in any of the thousand of lines of dialogue that don't exist yet to power herself up" or "Mary steals the power from whatever the final boss is at the eleventh hour" or "Grimm loses his strength after a hard fought battle and Mary offers a final duel." Or any number of possible explanations that can be justified in the hundred of hours of content we know nothing about.
You keep arguing with concrete facts as if BS3 is right around the corner, and even then EMMM has put crucial information and the true ending from the games in post-launch DLC.
What I was arguing for the very beginning is how likely Mary is as a final boss considering the series' themes and narrative trajectory, not facts that can be changed at the drop of a hat, replaced at the writer's discretion.
If DLC3 didn't exist, using your logic, there's no way Lindamea could be able to fight toe to toe with Grimm and end in a stalemate, considering how in BS1 where he was "weaker" he beat Lindamea.
But that doesn't matter. All that matters is, for the sake of the story, Lindamea can do it and all it takes is Red saying a single line about how he was looking for Grimm, then we fill in the blanks.
You can keep saying that the future games will set it up. I can't deny that's a possibility, but I can say that everything we have so far points towards the exact opposite. Mary being the final boss (or even a final boss) for BS3 just doesn't make any sense narratively, considering how much BS2 has set up the Black personman war as THE fricking event it's going to deal with. Mary has virtually no allies or friends, no army to fight for her, and no garden to her name left standing, ergo unless DRH and/or the Princesses game somehow undoes every fricking thing BS2 went out of its way to purposefully inflict upon her she should likely remain in a similar state for the events of BS3. Given that DRH likely takes place before BS2 you'd have to rely on the ADV between Red and Grimm to somehow set something like that up. As for the Princesses game, the only available times for it to take place should be either around BS1 or maybe post-H in BS2 with Grimm editing the books on the bookshelf there, but even that's unlikely since he can't use the power to change with his current vessel, and other issues (like the authors) would have to be dealt with too.
>Another could be: "Mary uses something introduced in any of the thousand of lines of dialogue that don't exist yet to power herself up" or "Mary steals the power from whatever the final boss is at the eleventh hour" or "Grimm loses his strength after a hard fought battle and Mary offers a final duel."
If EMMM decides to throw his hard work out of the window and resort to the basest of hack writing, that's ultimately on him. What I can say for now is that EMMM has been very, very careful about his writing and goes out of his way to actively foreshadow and hint at shit ahead of time. Introducing a last second diabolus ex machina or asspulling an 11th hour powerup for Mary doesn't really seem to be his style. Even TCO's last second appearance in BS1 had foreshadowing.
>Or any number of possible explanations that can be justified in the hundred of hours of content we know nothing about.
These future justifications wouldn't exist in a vacuum, they'd have to have rational reasons to exist in the first place and also square away with what's already happened before in the series. It's easy to just handwave problems away and just say a genie did it if you're a shit writer, but EMMM doesn't seem to be a shit writer.
>You keep arguing with concrete facts as if BS3 is right around the corner
Because Black Souls is a series that (so far) has taken great care with regards to existing precedent and foreshadowing. I'm not going to pretend that we know every single last plot detail for BS3, let alone DRH or the Princesses game, but we can make some pretty fricking good guesses for those like we did for DLC 3 before it released based on what we currently know.
>What I was arguing for the very beginning is how likely Mary is as a final boss considering the series' themes and narrative trajectory
Then you are reading something completely different than I am. Mary had her time in the sun as the big bad in BS1, she's not going to return as the final boss in BS3, even if I think she's still going to have a major role in it.
>not facts that can be changed at the drop of a hat, replaced at the writer's discretion.
Facts do not change at the drop of a hat in this series. One of the biggest points in BS's favor is how internally consistent shit is lorewise and plotwise. We can get new information that recontexualizes or expands upon shit we already knew about, but essentially all of it has squared away perfectly with existing lore and plot, not retconning it away and pretending that it never fricking happened.

She's played the South Park games, so this isn't surprising. Now, I wonder if she'll finish it or drop it in the first hour.
Would be funny if she didn't turn H-scenes off and got banned from Twitch forever.
She's going to play with H scenes on and pop a manual censor on screen.
MII-CHAN WHY
I wouldn't be surprised if she played with lewds on.
She'll probably play (with the H scenes on), get a regular ending and move on without going for other endings or the second game. Hell, it took me a year to get into BS2 after BS1 even if I loved it. We might be in the relative clear if she doesn't enjoy it.
eh, I tried watching a stream of black souls and the guy won't stop "subtly" talking about "rap battles", and I don't think it even needs to be uncensored to get the jist but the fake puritanism for the sake of youtube censors (when they will delete it anyway if you really think about it) disgusts me.
Not really surprised eventually BS will catch wind. Though the question is that how much would it really attract. I recall reading somewhere that one relatively big streamer tried to stream La Mulana and his viewer count plummeted to less than a hundred, while streaming other games is still in the thousands. Then again, La Mulana is one of those extremes in niche areas and not everyone has the time to burn some braincells on an Indiana Jones game
>Though the question is that how much would it really attract.
vtubers like tenma still have a niche audience, if you check the comments some people already know what black souls is so it's not going to be a new thing for her viewers. phase connect is also one of the non conformist vtuber companies so it attracts a different viewer demographic. it'll probably go through tenma, then maybe other vtubers from that company and then maybe through other streamers that interact with phase connect but i don't think it'll snowball into the mainstream like fear and hunger did, despite what the thread doomsayers say. i think someone small like tenma playing it is the natural progression of a game, it can't stay completely obscure on Ganker forever
Historically, because of Pippa, a vast amount of Phase Connect fans are from /here/, so in that aspect there shouldn't be a problem, on the other hand Tenma has a huge number of various friends among both V-tubers and regular content creators, one of them being Albino and that could potentially be a problem.

I am having problems installing Black Souls 2 (Eng version). When I run installer downloaded from DL site, both files are in the same directory, process ends without any problems, I run game.exe and I get error "File corrupted, run the antivirus and reinstall the game." Does any good anon know the fix? I didn't have any problems with first game
That's weird, I bought mine like 2 years ago and it ran fine. I'll see if it's any different now. Maybe you need to get the RPGmaker XVAce assets?
nvm I figured it out. I have just deleted Japanese characters from folder name and it works now like a charm. Fricking windows
I completely forgot she just straight up calls him a homosexual-ass lizard too.
Can't wait for the Twitter approved translation.
Bill is MY homosexual-ass lizard and I will gladly fistfight twitter to get to him first
ain't nobody gonna frick with my boywife
Cheshire being considerate enough to warn you about that is the first moment you start realizing how much of a good girl she really is deep down.
ready to get fear and hungered bros? ready for dozens of pics of bill standing in front of troon flags?
>ready to get fear and hungered bros?
Never happening. The second one of frapollos fans decide to actually investigate his favorite game EMMM is getting harassed off the internet.
Just make dozens of pics of Grimm burning the flag while Cheshire laughs in the background to counter it. Start making them now in preparation.
>ready for dozens of pics of bill standing in front of troon flags?
Well they're going to have a real fricking difficult time with some of his lines.
does this mean that bill is (twitter) moron-proof?
Nothing is foolproof, but he should be pretty fool-resistant.
Props to the guy who did the translations for not censoring this
one of the many things I get to thank god for
The guy who did the translation did a pretty exceptional job. Very few typos or grammatical errors and a pretty good job with the English Literature bits. I honestly don't think BS would be considered as good if not for the solid translation we got
About this, our kids are born like that or were they genetically engineered by Node/Nyarly or what? Because why do you need the triple handicap kid?
Born like that for the play. We've been inbreeding with our own children for a long time now, so when you frick a Bill or a Dodo you produce more Bills or Dodos.
I see, I guess there is Andersen that takes care of him and allows the number of lizards to increase.
But... Bill doesn't even have a womb
Well, life finds a way according to B.
meh when you are dealing with eldritch gods what is making someone pregnant
Those lines sound exactly like what those people say in discord.
It's uncanny how much EMMM's fetish for really pathetic femboys reflect reality.
Well, mental illness knows no language.
Leaf says trans rights!
Leaf purposely pushing more and more tomboys into making themselves miserable just so she can laugh at their endings does seem in character for her.
Not surprising, considering that Leaf is a villain

is the hell ending for dlc 3 supposed to remain stuck on a certain image or not
patience anon
for how long, must have been an hour by now and nothing changed
Did your game freeze or something?
I don't think so, music is still working fine too. The girl in bed asks me to hold her hand I get 2 dialogue options, I choose one, the image starts turning grey and then nothing else happens. Tried it multiple times with different dialogue options too
You're supposed to wait on that screen until the music stops, and then there'd be a screen transition. If you tab out of the game or whatever that'll probably frick it up.
hmm ok maybe I tabbed out too soon or something, I'll do the fight again and see if it works this time
kek yeah I tabbed out too soon every time it worked now, thanks anon. The struggles of being a zoomer
I'm glad I decided to learn my nihongo, hopefully I'll be learned enough by the time the game comes out.
needs correction
>horn intact
A mistake. She'll shank you when you least expect it.
uuooohhhh
>Normie friend just texted me asking me how to defeat the cowardly lion
It's happening...
I'm actually somewhat happy I can share kino with someone in real life.
I played a bs track in the car with others once
If it wasn't TCO phase two I will not respect you.
Both TCO phases, fog park, bs1 battle theme, elizabeth's theme in both games, and the bhemoth theme from bs1
I recommended it to a friend before. The moment he heard it was an H game he decided not to play it.
I play it some at a friend's house on my laptop while he does other things on the tv. He seems interested, but then also talked about dropping a game that kept making jokes about "r-a-p-e". He spelled it out because he didn't want to say it.
I shared BS with 3 of my friends 2 are beaten BS1 and playing BS2 3th one is still playing BS1 they all like it weary much
Not fair, why do you get to hoard all of the based friends. Share with me!
i agree with your sentiment, wish i had friends i could introduce games like that, i said i was playing a really fun game the other day ton a friend, he practically begged me to tell what game it was, when i told him about it you could see the light on his eyes go away. . .
>you could see the light on his eyes go away. . .
Holy shit, you killed your friend? Real life is not Black Souls, buddy. You shouldn't do that.
These friend are online ones and they are chosen carefully and then psy oping the 3th one and he told the 1st one and some time later 1st one told the 2nd one so basically I made friends with BS also 1st pissed himself when he saw big duchess h scene
>3th
Stupid Russian moron.
Nah Bosnian orthodox Christian israelite
1st one is Normal
3th one Albanian
and I am the racist one so all in all fun people
I suggested the game to a friend of mine who plays eroge and other stuff, but wasn't interested in the game due to the graphics and the simple combat of the first game.
Happy I could share with my friends as well, there was even a bit where my friend found an area in BS2 I had never been. Still though, after I got 4 friends on the series, I suddenly started seeing BS2 everywhere and I think one of them had a mini-schizo moment.
Hello i just started playing Blacksouls(the first one) yesterday and wanted to ask for some tips.
Are there benefits to upgrading a weapon to +10 compared to +9 or they go up to +100/+999?
and is it more efficient to lv up Leaf compared to grimm until the lv cap?
Feels that by the time i get to lv100 it would nearly be more efficient to just buy colored souls to increase attributes by the scaling costs for lvs
Lastly i became aprentice to doroty, did i close myself from being other characters aprentice in the future?
>Are there benefits to upgrading a weapon to +10 compared to +9 or they go up to +100/+999?
Yeah upgrading a weapon to the max is a good idea, but it only goes to like 10 or 5 or something. It's been a while so just pick a weapon you like and upgrade it as much as you can
>and is it more efficient to lv up Leaf compared to grimm until the lv cap?
The companions level up significantly faster than you. They will carry you in the early to mid game just off that alone
>Feels that by the time i get to lv100 it would nearly be more efficient to just buy colored souls to increase attributes by the scaling costs for lvs
That's very true, so make sure to use those colored souls when you can. You can get to some crazy stats when you optimize your souls to get them
>Lastly i became aprentice to doroty, did i close myself from being other characters aprentice in the future?
Nah you're good. There's not a lot of situations where you lock yourself out of getting the companions
>Are there benefits to upgrading a weapon to +10 compared to +9 or they go up to +100/+999?
Max level can vary depending on the weapon (5 or 10, should just be 10 across the board in BS1 I believe) but it's what you should be working towards in general since new skills or improved weapon traits happen at that point.
>and is it more efficient to lv up Leaf compared to grimm until the lv cap?
Yes, especially early on, but you shouldn't neglect Grimm either.
>Feels that by the time i get to lv100 it would nearly be more efficient to just buy colored souls to increase attributes by the scaling costs for lvs
Pretty much.
>Lastly i became aprentice to doroty, did i close myself from being other characters aprentice in the future?
You're fine, what you should be worried more about is if someone disappears or dies.
>You're fine, what you should be worried more about is if someone disappears or dies
uh... about thatI actually killed Frog princess and there was a girl wich i forgot the name off, that was in the starting area and had 2 bodyguards, asked if i wanted to help and they responded it was a joke no matter if i typed yes or no, they are gone from there but i didn't kill them, don't know if they appear later, also now i can't get colored Souls until i find one ring in the forsest or somewhere there
Catherine and her bodyguards moved elsewhere, you can find them but I'd keep an eye on them once you do.
As for the second part it's dropped off a specific enemy in the Forest of Abandoned. Try going to the screen right of the bonfire there and killing shit.
Thanks to both, say I already killed princess Frog, will i cuck myself from some endgame content if i kill all the pricesses?may as well go all in at this point...
Worst comes to worst, if you're that worried about missing content then cycling exists. There's generally not that much reason to do so in BS1, but odds are you'll be doing it a lot more in BS2. BS is a series with a pretty big focus on attention to detail, so a lot of actions can have different repercussions and outcomes, even if not majorly important ones in the long run.
One thing that's easy to miss but very helpful:
You have 4 ringslots!
You just need to scroll down on the equipment screen to see them.
I am going to buy punching bag and put Leafs picture on it
If Leaf fell in love with Grimm, would his anti good end curse instantly kill her.
For starters, spoiler tags. Secondly, that's not really how that curse works. BS1's bad ends and sudden deaths in particular were due to Mary's direct intervention making it so, the curse seems to be much more passive. It's pretty easy to argue that Grimm's curse did affect her though, considering BS1 D leads into Mary's state in BS2, and what happens to her in BS2 G.
>In BS1 all sex is part of a sick play created by an evil mistress
>In BS2 all sex is just fuel for war soldiers + all done with disguised flesh monsters
>In BS3 all sex will result in the DEATH of the heroines
Ever escatalating levels of sex bad.
There's no way the ending of Black Souls is not Grimm becoming a priest or something of the kind, maybe waking Azathoth to get rid of all materiality and the its desires.
Pricket is a lovely, modest lass and would never dress like that. Never!
Fat ass cow
>He went straight to Snow White
What an odd way to play. First time through I actually couldn't find her for the life of me.
Inb4 Hispanic and cellphone, I told you guys he was a normie. Doesn't even have a pc.
Is that some gay playing ?
I've been watching Princess Tutu lately up to episode 23 and I reached the part with the gears with the story
I swear there's some black souls similarities in this show but I won't analyze it until I finish it.
Is Toro known to have taken inspiration from Tutu ?
Is the anon who made the required reading chart here? We should add Robert Browning.
Node has a gift for (You)
This koGanker has been really fun and Grimm is on a very good run.
That link doesn't seem to work.
Oh shit is that going on? I'll have to open up Ganker again to see how that's going. It's one of the few things on Ganker that's actually cool and not gay
/v/ga is also starting.
HE MADE IT TO THE FINALS
HE'S GONNA DO IT
HE'S WINNING
But who's gonna be his queen?
If he wins, a blond haired, blue eyed, young looking girl. So ALICE!
Blond hair and blue eyes.... ah you were at my side all along...
Curly from Cave Story
I want to voto for Grimm, but I'm out of touch, what the frick is this?
Mad Rat Dead.
Anon... I... I figured that out a while ago, using yandex for reverse image search... my problem is, it's apparently not that. Or at least it's not fricking accepting the input in any form, "mad rat dead", "MAD RAT DEAD," "Mad Rat Dead", the same things, but without spaces, the same things with a periot at the end, with and without spaces. NO FRICKING IDEA OF WHAT I'M SUPPOSED TO WRITE.
Okay, that's odd. Try robot unicorn attack.
>spoonfeeding
Anon, say what you want but I can understand why he spoonfed me, if I were in his place I honestly wouldn't pass the chance to get an extra vote for the guy I want to win. Call me newbie or whatever you want, I just happen to stay in the few regular threads that I like, and ignore the rest of the garbage on both Ganker and /vrpg/ if you want to know why I don't know more than half of what's happening around here. How the frick am I supposed to know there's some harmony day bullshit (whatever that is) happening around a game I haven't heard of in over 10 years?
I already think of the (fictional) children so kill me, Lorde.
You'd have to ask the tourney organisers about that, I haven't really looked at the threads.
Ok, yes, it was that. Why the frick was that image there then?
To throw people off. These are questions meant to filter people, even if only slightly.
>being this much of a newbie
>not "kys meow"
you had one job 🙂
fricking newbies can't even google
I've never seen this being before and the image search didn't give the right answer as the other anon said.
who the frick is harmony day?
It's "robot unicorn attack" you absolute fricking dodos, read the actual question.
The question is "what game is Harmony game celebrating?" there is no Harmony game and has nothing to do with unicorn attack.
>what game is Harmony game celebrating?
Harmony DAY, anon.
NTA, but still, what the frick is an "harmony day" anyways?
Lurk forever.
>It's "robot unicorn attack" you absolute fricking dodos, read the actual question.
I did, thus "who the frick is harmony day"
I either don't know, or this is like when I joined the pokemon mmo and the quiz at the start included gen5 and me to the admin: "I have no fricking idea mate I stopped playing at gen 3 *shrug emoji*"
>
>still doesn't answer the question, derp meme reply
im leaving.
Bye anon, see you next thread.
If you're too fricking stupid to do basic googling or archive searching, I'm surprised that you managed to even find your way here in the first place. Don't pin the blame for your own incompetence on the efforts of others.
something about rainbow unicorn warior
Can the cat show up here or does the thing that makes her go away always trigger before getting here
Kot doesn't appear anywhere past the mirror I think.
Tenma will voice act in Black souls 3
Honestly... I'd take it. I feel she'd fit well as Maymay. Of course, I'm only speaking of voice acting in japanese here.
So when she's going to be a hag by age as well, not just by voice, ok.
What girl would she be?
See you all in 2033 where every character will be voiced by amateurs or folks who've never graced the voice acting scene
Did you lot really come here from some shitcord BS server or something?
>/vt/ homosexuals
>blatant newbies unable to lurk or even use basic critical thinking when trying to find shit
what a horrible turn of events
I do remember taking note just how often some posters here use discord spoilers instead of proper ones.
So much for gatekeeping.
Yeah, discordBlack folk existing here isn't new news unfortunately. It doesn't seem as bad as when they first started showing up here at least, maybe some of them fricked off.
So about the second part of the library in the first game.Is there another way to get those books?Or do I need to do it?
Just return those library books you burrowed bro
Poseidon Hotel.
Any way to get BS1 & 2 running on Nintendo Switch?
also the last time I had to deal with this kind of "everyone knows (doesnt)" gatekeeping was the ai chatbot threads and a bunch of namegays parading their scraped keys for popularity and drama
either make an accessible 1 per IP poll for everyone or don't make it a vote at all.
The only people who even watch phase connect slop are already on Ganker. It's not going to be anywhere near as bad as the Russians still plaguing these threads.
You've been b***hing about russians unprompted and without reason for quite a while now.
what does he know that we dont
>Russians still plaguing these threads
Kys pidor
russians>spics, honestly

>assblasted slavgays the moment someone brought it up
Yeah, they’re so obvious. And the moment it gets a bit too much they’ll likely proceed to abuse the report system.
Are you a pigman?
wordfilter "slop" to "I am a homosexual please rape my face" onegai thank you kindly
JABBERRRRRR
Reminder that F&H had a pretty palatable fanbase when it was mostly slavs, but then westoids came en masse and "fungered" it all up.
What happened?
E-celebs
Westoids bring Black folk, homosexuals and trannies - that's what they do. It's their culture after all.
What did they do to the game?
They did nothing to the game itself. They're still pretty decent if you don't pay attention to the online discourse about the game. What happened is that it became popular, popular enough to get videos done on it by e-celebs and played on stream. That of course attracts the scum of the internet like gays and trannies who stop at nothing to shoehorn their own beliefs onto the game like "oh this character is trans" or "This game is LGBT core". They're so loud about it that it drowns out almost any actual game discussion and they essentially hijack the game's entire online presence. This is pretty irrelevant to us since F&H was never really that crazy beyond the gruesome shit that can happen to you when you lose. Blacksouls has many barriers that I'm pretty certain would keep any gays like that away from the series like the plague. namely, dicky, rape, and dicky rape
I don't like people who posture moral superiority because "think of the drawings!!"
Moral gays are always the ones doing fricked up shit
Who are you calling moralgays here? The gays or us? neither are really moralgays since we like a game that has some admittedly immoral themes and surely they aren't moralgays since they like gay poop sex, genital mutilation, and other manners of degeneracy
the people who get pissy at e-girlcon
They're not moralgays, they're just actual pedos. They don't like e-girlcon because they prefer the real thing
i have no idea why people so often think this "no u"-level shit makes sense as a sweeping statement. most of those homosexuals really are just moronic moralgays.
a dozen of the same cherry-picked twitter screenshots that get reposted ad nauseam on this website don't change anything. one has to be extremely special to actively hate e-girlcon while being a pedo. that is rare. especially outside of the west.
Unhinged hypocrisy is far more common than you would imagine.
oh yeah, absolutely. the fact that i can't be sure which side of the debate you are talking about speaks for itself really. but regardless of that, what i said still stands.
Those types have been caught more than enough times raping actual children. Some of them were as high up UN staff.
So I recently beat BS1 and got all the endings, now I played a decent bit of BS2, decided to take a look at a guide midway through and apparently I already fricked up all kinds of shit that I'd never have found myself, kinda surprised since I was able to get everything in BS1 blind
I'm referring to having 0 SEN at the start to interact with Red Riding Hood and stuff
My question would be, does the game hint at this kind of stuff if I keep playing "normally" or is it a bunch of stuff you'd never find without guides? The entire SEN mechanic seems like the kind of thing you'd never fully figure out without guides
Anon... you're not supposed to discover that shit on your first playthrough. I'm pretty sure the guide you saw only told the more "ideal" path to get the true endings and that's all. BS2 is not about that, it's about experimenting, fricking over, cycling and repeating until you decide to try something different or discover the solution to a mystery that has been plaguing you for several cycles... you're just fricked your own experience by using a guide desu
I didn't look up more than the 0 SEN thing near the start, I went to ask here for opinions because I didn't need to rely on guides for BS1, but the SEN thing seems like the thing that'd make you miss out on a lot, like playing through around 100+ I didn't really pick up on when and where I'd get new stuff from lowering it
I figure I'll just go for the standard ending first until I hit a wall, the game seems to have a lot more content at least
You get new enemies when your Sen drops low enough, that's a big enough hint to realise that your Sen level influences certain encounters
The SEN mechanic happens very naturally if you are playing as intended and try to play "differently" on your second loop. It pops up in your face constantly with a huge range of actions you take to remind you it exists, and you have items that manually lower it which are also beneficial to use. By loop 2 you should have at least enough black souls if you use them all, regardless of if you died any as they are scattered throughout the map too, and the very first area of the game is also the most dramatic transformation. This arouses curiosity about what else has changed and encourages the player to not mess with it until they find the next steps.
Likewise, even if you still encounter the mirror beast, by loop 2 you feel strong enough to not run from it even just for an "easter egg boss," and the design of the fight itself is incredibly evocative. Anyone who looks at the boss and doesn't start hatching a plan and asking questions are dense as lead or missed big chunks of BSI.
>spoiler
I had to savescum hard to get there with more than zero SEN
>decided to take a look at a guide midway through and apparently I already fricked up
Your mistake was consulting a guide so early on instead of just playing the game naturally or just asking here if you were truly stuck. SEN is something that comes quite naturally as you play through the game normally.
>off of f95.
Make sure it's not a fricking MTL for BS2. Easy ways to check, make sure there's no giant fricking F95 watermark on the titlescreen or that "Pledges" isn't in the menu screen.
I can't find Izu after killing the four princesses.I already talked to him twice in the fort and the town.Isn't he supposed to be in the Holy Forest?
I don't remember what ring I got there
The game literally spoonfeeds you anonchama.
Go look there for Edith.
I just downloaded Black Souls 1 and 2 off of f95. Is there anything I should know before going into the games, or can I play blind?
Does anyone have any nice wallpapers?
Play blind at first.
>You have four rings
>Shift to run
>It's not a cutscene
>four rings
Sounds ominous
I'm downloading 2 from /hgg2d/ at the moment. Does it contain DLC like the f95 version?
Couldn't get 1 to download: maybe it's becasue I'm not using ipfs, but the windows version has been replaced with "squirrel".
yes, if you dl the one that says it includes DLC3
Am I doing this right?
Thank you
yeah
>f95
That's the one with the shitty MTL translation though isn't it?
Most of the wallpaper candidates I have are full of spoilers.

>Replaying the game
>It turns out that Jabber attacked the Tea Party before, but the trio ward her off
Where does this fit into the timeline?
>Where does this fit into the timeline?
The same place as everything else there? Before the events of BS1.
Before even the events of BS1. The Tea Party takes place in wonderland when Lewis Carroll was still an individual and not a part of Grimm. And from what we can infer, it was like a PG movie in terms of happenings. Carroll, Alice, and Prayer Master were like some anime heroes since it was all a part of TCO's play
is there a good reason to keep Jubjub alive?
You can rape her if you don't want to kill her.
she has a very hot rape scene so you can just keep womb pounding her in jail
bird boobs
never enter a covenant with her. There's a reason there's a warning outside her room
There is no issue with covenanting her, the issue is progress as it always has been. Well, that and the fact that her covenant's pretty shit anyways.

So in BS it appears as if I got less benefits from level ups if I spend a lot of souls to increase my stats. Is the actually the case of or are level ups and is BS2 the same?
Yeah at a certain point, if you want to increase your stats you should use colored souls instead of flat out leveling yourself. Levels ups in BS1 and 2 I think only give a flat increase each time, so the scaling costs of each level mean you get the same, but for an increasingly steeper cost. Just get colored souls after feel you're stagnating on levels
>Levels ups in BS1 and 2 I think only give a flat increase each time, so the scaling costs of each level mean you get the same, but for an increasingly steeper cost.
I want to say there's a point where BS2's level scaling starts to invert.
BS2 you can get so many fricking souls if you know what you're doing that you might as well hit the level cap, but yeah in the long run the vast majority of your actual stats comes from colored souls in both games.
How do I trigger the fight?
Your mesukaki looks absent in that pic. Try going a few screens to the left and talking to the person there, just to make sure.
Man watching those 2 anons in Ganker posting their playthroughs at the same time has been a lot of fun
The moralgay reminds me that
>don't use an external guide, ask in the threads
really should be added to the list of shit that's told to people when they first start playing.
At least from what it seems he didn't get spoiled in too much shit, he doesn't know about Mary yet, and is getting caught off guard about the chara endings
Can someone point me out the source of grimm's sprite? I swear to god I've seen it somewhere.
Where the frick is this last book?
La Belle, the girl in the final dungeon with Cinderella.
does march hare usually have staples on her head? I swear I notice nothing with this game
I see Convo about who the final boss of the series will be, but what about who the final boss of Red Dead Hood? We still don't know who the new Bathomet is but if I had to guess It's Leaf's supposedly dead twin
I'd guess the final boss of Red's game will be that "thing" with the mask and Red's coat that some anons speculate is the personification of her curse
>It's Leaf's supposedly dead twin
Leaf's twin will most definitely be in BS3 DLC and will play a pivotal role in getting the true ending. I'd bet cash on it.
BS1 DLC introduced Leaf's mother who played a pivotal role in getting the true ending.
BS2 DLC, same verse as the last with the father this time.
These games are EMMM's autism project, so details like that can't be a coincidence.
Red's game is a stealth game, I don't think there is going to be a final boss in the traditional sense.
Cute Node!
This might sound like heresy but there's no difference in playing BS1/2 with joiplay, right? I took an interest on it thanks to king of Ganker but my PC is MiA for at least a month.
You mean on phone? I guess you could give it a try, it sounds a bit inconvenient but other than that if that's your only option then you should experience more or less the game like everyone else
Ok, cool, gonna play it now. Thank god I'm a stubborn moron and hate guides so you might find yourself helping a moron from time to time, also me like numbers go up.
Sure, feel free to ask us if you get stuck on anything, bro. I hope you have fun with the game.
Then you're literally at home anon, have fun, keep us updated, and don't feel afraid to ask stupid questions
Also, the general tip everyone gives
-Start with BS1 (or maybe red hood's game if you want, it's BAD, but short, and some lore from there is important even if it doesn't seem like it at first). You won't understand BS2 without playing the other ones first.
-You can equip four rings
-Hold shift to- Oh shit, phone...Uhhh... You can run, dunno how in there
-It is NOT a cutscene
>dunno how in there
So you advice me to figure out how to do it first order in the morning?
>It is NOT a cutscene
Yeah, this is going to frick me over
I just haven't really played on mobile or used an emulator myself. I can only tell you, you can hold shift and you'll run instead of walking, there is basically no downside to running and walking is slow as frick
Oh, so it's nothing important, just QoL advice.
Yeah, the "It is NOT a cutscene" is actually just referring to one REALLY SPECIFIC YET REALLY IMPORTANT moment a lot of people encounter, they don't move because they think it's a cutscene, and they frick up
It's not a big deal, play the game however you can. It's not like it's an action game and you're trying to play it on goofy phone controls or something, I've played plenty of JRPGs on my phone.
Red bros don't look...
Grimm's 2 wives... What a lucky guy. Just like Batter...
I was expecting to see Red getting fricked by a dog. I'm disappointed.
I'd normally say that being fricked by someone with an armor on would probably hurt, but well... she's metallic too frick it! Or rather, frick her!
more?
>Tenma breaking containment
NO! I DON'T WANNA US TO BECOME FEAR AND HUNGER!!!
>Gankeralhalla win
>tenma stream
>sseth video
>UN sanctions
black souls is over...
It's okay, Tenma's audience is already made up of Gankertards.
Surely the game's protagonist being a schizophrenic rapist will ward away THOSE kinds of people. I don't think the Rance series had to deal with this kind of bullshit.
Rance didn't hare lore autism and a no h scene toggle
Rance has a metric frickton of lore.
If the game itself could not ward off those people, then there is no hope.
I mean I guess Grimm becoming king will open the door a lot more, but if this falls I don't see anything ever having a chance, there are so many filters in this game that it's almost a bingo.
Well, I think the best course of action is ignoring the videos, vtubers etc that play it, if you tell them they are evil for playing this game they will just feed on the drama, the only way is ignoring them.
I feel like this kind of VTuber won't bring in the undesirables (beyond /vt/ schizos, maybe). From what I know, Phase Connect girls are all Gankergays to some degree.
The only thing I've done is remind people to stay vigilant with the gatekeeping. Rome thought it was safe too and look what happened...
She's going to drop it on the first stream.
She suffers of incredible stubborness.
She unironically wants it to go mainstream. Once again a woman ruins everything.
Last time I checked Fear and Hunger was a complete troon game. Normies will get filtered, schizochads who are worth something will prevail.
The only actual "argument" that I've heard on why exposure is bad was that EMMM might get harassed. And I don't see how that's a bad thing, that asiatic should've released Red's second game by now, any harassment he gets is well deserved.
you must be pretty new to the internet if you don't understand the dangers of popularity yet.
but don't worry. you will. once you see communities you like get overrun and ruined beyond recognition by normalgays and other cancer, time and time again, you'll get it. it won't take long.
Although true for the majority of instances I highly doubt this will be the case for blacksouls. They can avoid the e-girl rape while playing the game but they sure won't be to within our communities. I've only ever seen Slavs that are desensitized enough to tolerate it.
Might be cope and wishful thinking on my part, but only time will tell.
Let's compare and contrast F&H and BS in the meantime. What parts of F&H did those people get drawn towards?
>What parts of F&H did those people get drawn towards?
The atmosphere more likely than not. And BS probably won't be the same cup of tea for those people due to the usage of default RPGmaker textures.
Perhaps the lore, although unlocking the lore in F&H is basically RNG I doubt many people would be drawn towards it, and have lore as an incentive to play the game. And if we were to assume people would play BS for the lore (which they should) they'd have to spend 20+ hours at the bare minimum. And I haven't seen a whole lot of folks willing to invest that much time.
In terms of gameplay there isn't much to be compared, it's RPGmaker, the differences are minimal.
Now for contrast, BS has H scenes which are optional, however they're lore relevant. So if someone were to play and decide that e-girls being bred is too much for them, they'd be missing out on the only thing worthwhile which is the lore.
So you either get filtered by the game design, time necessary to be spent, artstyle or H scenes. OR you play the game as intended.
>>What parts of F&H did those people get drawn towards?
Nothing. They gathered around what ecelebs made popular like a swarm of locusts, and popularity and trendiness attracted more of the similar vermin.
These are the kind of "people" that will soon be apart of the fandom.
did they mean jubjub or are they just moronic?
can I pirate 1 and 2?
It's actually fricking over
It will blow over since these morons have no attention span. They will forget about this within a week.

I require a bit of spoonfeeding or I'll become a guidegay, in BS2:
I'm on my second playthrough and kept 0 SEN most of the time and got the events with Red Hood, from what I can tell I've visited pretty much all areas (when I look at my warp points the only areas where I don't have a warp point would be the southeastern snow area with the river the closest)
I've seen Red Hoods event with Elisabeth, which I didn't get in my first playthrough, then saw her at the bonfire of the Fuming Forest, what would be the next step? I think I've warped to all available bonfires already
I've gotten a bunch of these memory flames I didn't find on my first playthrough because I just kept SEN high all the time, but I'm not sure if I got them all, I'd take a list at this point, or I'd have to run through the entire map again looking for it
have you seen the beach?/spoiler]
there's another bonfire where you can find Red
Deep in the sea inside the boat surely you remember check the walls near that message
For the flames there's a total of 6, gotta collect them all
Pretty sure I saw at least 4 of the flames, would appreciate a list
In my first playthrough I mostly went through the areas "left" from Lutwidge town until the white door was able to be opened, I killed the cat and fricked Alice
Well Collecting the flames is only really important if you intend on going ahead and doing the true ending, so you can hold off on that and I can give a list of where the flames are in another post, but here are a list of requirements for the endings
Ending A: Defeat Dinah and Make love to Alice. This is the one you said you got
Ending B: raise the covenants of all the girls you can. There are exceptions like Lorina and Kuti. Then you must have sex with Node and then choose the red option
Ending C: Lose the fight to Dinah
Ending D: Kill Alice
Ending E: Kill Alice with your Sen at 0 or less
Ending F and G are a part of the true ending and to get to it you must Collect the 6 flame memories, talk to Red hood at 10 different areas and get marked by her at the beach, get Leaf's Ring from her at Queensland, then you must start a new cycle and do NOT skip the prologue and hit X instead of choosing an Alice. After that point it is quite easy to find where to go and the endings are a difference in your choice at the end
Ending H: You must complete ending G and then go to Carroll River. You must also have spoken to Mabel at some point
Hope this helps bro
I did meet her a bunch of times, didn't keep count though might be 10, I met her at the beach, but don't recall her marking me there
I went through the deep sea/ship area after taking the hint to run past the god fish thing, beat the big daddy guy but that "only" gave me two more covenant options, didn't see Red Hood anywhere
You're more than likely good on meeting Red, there are like 20 places to see her so you most likely have hit the threshold. Also, by when she marks you, I mean she just kinda gives you a kiss or something. It's relatively small and I'm not sure if it's important. I think you have to rape her once, but I'm not sure of that either
Yeah, I played on and managed to get the Good Ending now, guess I'll go to the River next
>Good Ending
Good endings only exist in fairy tales... This is Black Souls.
Well I mean that's what it was called, so I assume G
Meeting Red in the underwater area only happens during a hidden event.
There's a hidden door on the passenger ship inside the ship graveyard (pic related).
The event triggers if you go through the door at +100 sen and it really is worth watching.
(Also Red will only appear if you've met her on the same run).
Oh and yeah I went a bit into the sea, but didn't bother with the ship yet, because that huge boss seemed like a considerable step up from anything else I found which I could kill easily on my second playthrough after farming to 99, guess I should try beating it, but I expected it to be kind of a postgame thing
Run, Dodo, run!
2 tips
you can use invisible
the boss isn't meant to be beaten at this point, just run past it
Ok so just to be clear on a few things. You're on your second playthrough? So what ending did you get? Either way, you should probably get ready for another ending if you've already done what you can in second playthrough. I can list out the requirement for the endings if you'd like
You guys are overreacting.
Pic related got 67k views and nothing happened, I doubt that just one stream that will without a doubt get less views than this will matter.
Slowly and steadily bigger and bigger gays will use this as a way to get views. These people are clout chasers anon, nothing is sacred to them.
NTA, but, you know... there is this guy who has been playing it blind on youtube for a while too, he just finished BS1 today, (though he said he had finished the whole game beforehand, and it's posting the videos slowly afterwards.) Anyhow, there seems to be at least 1 more video he hasn't uploaded in the playlist... and he seems to have liked the series, so he'll probably play 2 too...
Link if someone decides to check for some reason: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLSAeHiFxp1kxLtGLvBCU8cY6y6WDbKz3u
I'll be honest, I've been kinda following this, 1, because it's a literal who with very few views, so I don't really see him as a threat. And 2, because it's kinda satisfying seeing a newbie playing the game... kinda like the guys we had on the tournament a while ago... I miss the feeling of playing this for the first time...
moronanon here, I have no idea how to get a covenant with Griffy, I wanna do it so I can finish off my gallery, help a moron out.

>Someone salty about Grimm trying to discredit him by linking to a Discord server
>Starting dumb drama when the final thread was at page 9.
That feels more fishy than the actual discord.
Unfortunate. I doubt it's enough to discredit his win though, there was clearly a lot of support in the thread.
When did these Black folk create BS discord? And why post it now near the end?
They have to forge evidence

Being based beyond belief
I missed this in my first playthrough somehow, I thought the garden was the only area after the cemetery
don't worry I missed so many massive areas even though I thought I was thorough. Did you kill the guards to get into the maze near there?
Yeah, I knew I could just die but I chose to get stronger and kill them
Just the thought that some of you are discordgays has shaken my faith in you all. This has been an eye opening event
I checked the server and all they are talking is Limbus.
That whole discord probably browses Ganker.
It doesn't matter if they also browse Ganker. Discord is an all-corrupting place. I hoped that BS could be spared from shit like that, but I have been shaken
nothing is spared from Discord
Black person, what kind of delusions have you been experiencing. I'm pretty sure half of Ganker are also DiscordBlack folk, including BSgays. It's the new Twitter, but somehow with more groomers.
>lurkers
so it's just over? just like that?
It's a complete non-issue to begin with
It's a weird one, they said to start talking limbus to scare off newbies from their secret club with like 1000 members. Allegedly their only admin died and so they can't ban anyone, causing it to get spammed constantly, but that doesn't make much sense to me.
The fact that people spam moronic Agni face edits was not a dead giveaway for you?
How new are you?
i would just like to say that i have always hated discord Black folk
the only time I would begrudgingly even consider joining a discord is for a irl friend group
i knew that for sure that discord gays posted here since 2021 when that one anon tried to make a joke mod that replaced all the scenes of grimm to be a fluffy and instead of finishing the mod he started adding unfunny "memes"
i suspected that was the case before that but that was the confirmation i needed
some examples of said "memes":
https://arch.b4k.co/vrpg/thread/2017303/#2021999
https://arch.b4k.co/vrpg/thread/2001782/#q2002671
https://arch.b4k.co/vrpg/thread/1933820/#q1934834
Horrible, simply horrible. I'd say that if these people have any respect for this series they would disband their gay discord groups. Discord is fine if used to play games with real friends or for multiplayer games, but Blacksouls is not the series for it and it only promotes the gayest shit that comes with discord.
You must be new here, and I don't mean that in the usual way I do. Every so often a discordgay wanders in here, and is usually told to frick off once they reveal themselves. That might stop them from posting as much, but ultimately there's little that can be done about that from our end. See
, though clearly enough of them haven't fricked off unfortunately.
The worst thing to happen to gaming has been discord homosexualry and I actively avoid servers if I can help it
Same deal for me too. But pretty much any social media presence can be bad. I saw something ironic earlier of a guy on twitter posting about a vtuber playing Blacksouls and saying how gatekeeping is good, yet he made the tweet bringing more traction to it and it had like 1.4k likes. There's only one place to go in terms of popularity and I'm kinda offput by it. Part of me is happy that EMMM is gaining traction and becoming successful, but I also have seen what increases in popularity does for niche games and the type of people they attract. Discordgays are just one of many of those very people that can kill a community
>I saw something ironic earlier of a guy on twitter posting about a vtuber playing Blacksouls and saying how gatekeeping is good, yet he made the tweet bringing more traction to it and it had like 1.4k likes
I figured based on the image you used being the profile pic. I just hope the e-girl and rape keeps the undesirables out
What made discord become such a hive of villany and normalhomosexualry that other places like skype, vent, or teamspeak couldnt become? It's like reddit 2.0 but with powertripping being given to average people. Was it cause of its popularity or that younger people use it?
Yeah, I still dont get why he didnt delete it. But clout is something else. Rock is a Grade A moron though.
I saw your quickly deleted going to alice post you little Black person. thank you for not being as moronic. I honestly thought you would be the one to make a moronic BS post go viral
I swear anonymous posting is what keeps us separate from shit like this. People want to bring attention to themselves and kiss the ass of moderators.
>I honestly thought you would be the one to make a moronic BS post go viral
I have shilled many games anon but BS will never be one of them
my bad boss
I wish I actually used it so I can go to them and tell them to kill themselves or reported them.
>want to go to the afterparty after the afterparty, the stealth threads for a game that wins
>none of them are about the game
>ok, let's check /vrpg/
>none of it's about the game
I was expecting more playthroughs and fresh blood and I am disappointed.
The supposed "rigging" has kinda killed that. I was also hoping I'd see some more playthroughs here, but alas it wasn't meant to be
We'll probably see more tomorrow as things die down. A lot of the people posting their playthroughs during the tourney are probably sleeping/taking a break at this time as they finished up BS1.
please tell me you have the sound version of this

Also thanks for posting the source
I forget how I even got it but there's a tampermonkey plugin (similar to Ganker x) called Ganker sounds that loads audio from the url written in the filename.

said the shitstorm in the afterparty killed the interest of for any possible newbies to BS

Trying to FRICKING SURVIVE IN BS2
Jesus I get the combat in BS1 was easy but frick me it's like every God damn thing I fight has the speed of sixty Black folk.
And FRICK this area dude.
just follow the fricking lamps, dodo
I GO OFF THE 'LINE' BY A FRICKING PIXEL
ALL THE WAY TO THE BEGINNING
AND IT DOESN'T HELP THAT SOME SPOTS YOU CAN'T REALLY SEE T HE POSTS UNLESS YOU WALK A BIT OUTWARD FROM THE POST
I've only found the Tavern so far, pic related has some weird undertonesA-Alice?
Oh and I fugged a zombie. Shit was cash.
just savescum it free and reliable
>I was expecting more playthroughs and fresh blood and I am disappointed.
That's because last minute drama happened that spoiled the fun.
>discordtrannies in charge of ruining the fun
Why am I not surprised
Some of the people posting their playthroughs had weird timezones so went to bed at like 5pm where I am. They were told repeatedly that they should come to vrpg to keep posting about it so we'll see
Fellas help me out, trying to do route C in Black Souls 1 through the Poseidon hotel but I'm getting the ever living shit kicked out of me, what should I do to stop jobbing to the vampire? Greatsword berserk unga bunga is pretty much the only strategy I've got and it aint doing it here.
Only bosses left outside this are Baphomet and Prayer Master (who turns me into mush the second the fight begins) so I don't think I'm unprepared, should I really just ng+?
What's your speed? Who are your available companions?
With only the Greatsword equipped 342, got all other companions available at 99
I'd recommend boosting that up. I think that's rather low for BS1.
Do stats even matter after a certain point in 2? I feel like turns with late/post game bosses are just alternating and I can't really tell if I do more/less damage unless I use accessories that outright reduce one offensive stat to 1
Stats cap at around 118000. So at one point, you'll just keep on hitting those same values.
I know for a fact that you can get to the cap from 10k, at least.
DLC 3 is almost entirely just mechanics checks. Stats still help especially Attack and Luck, but won't carry you like they did for the rest of the game.
Pretty sure speed caps at something absurdly low, like 10k.
Try about a tenth of that for turn speed.
>Leaf is stripped of her powers in BS2
>Her associated stat is near useless
KINO
It's by far the most important stat up to that point, but once you're consistently over it with your gear on, it can pretty much be ignored for the rest of the game. Honestly, BS2 would do well with softcaps for turn speed and have the softcap penalty increase the closer you get to the cap.
1k
>spoilers meaningless stuff
>doesn't spoiler important things
many such cases
Yeah I meant to spoiler it, I've been up for far too long

based?
What spells do you have?
Did you get the Highly Targetable Wall of Flesh?
Yeah I have the Wall of Flesh, all spells I could get from Candies, found a bunch in the DLC area and I guess I explored the base game area relatively thoroughly as in covenant vendors etc.
I've tried using the Wall, but it seems to just evaporate after a few attacks, I could try using it later in the fight so it's up when I take the bosses first healthbar down
No just tired and moronic, I figure it's because of the brackets or something
Do you have Mary's wand?
If that's the exact name, nope
In general I don't have much of the Chaos Dungeon stuff, I just rushed through to kill the Old King once
What QoL additions would you like to see in BS3?
More save slots, the ability to upgrade rings instead of just finding straight upgrades sometimes.
Something telling me how many turns I have left
I guess more dialogue reactivity. Unis' dungeon dialogue not changing after being raped is quite annoying for example.
>action count
>ability to see ALL current buffs, even if it just fricking cycles through them endlessly
I'd say something like being able to edit switches in-game would be nice for finding events and other shit, but that's pretty much just straight up cheating. Maybe in an external mod or something.
Alright pretty sure I've done everything in BS1, only thing I might have missed is Crestfallen Hero since he ran off somewhere, anyone know where he goes?
Fort Ivern, I think. He's probably turned demonbeast.
Also how do you get the bad ends? Just have 5 sin?
Read if you've gotten C+D. You need Mary's Ring. The only Sin-related ending is B, which is basically the game just laughing at you and pointing you towards the actual endings.
Thanks for the help, wish there was a wiki or something for these games but it's probably better this way to avoid spoilers.
Ganker is the best wiki you've got
You're in the wiki, for the most part.
BS1 is both smaller and more linear than BS2 is.
Best way to go about it:
>Ending B
>Ending A
>Ending C
>Ending B again (with a certain someone)
>Ending D
Bonus points: each Demonic princess has different dialogue if she is the only one left alive and come back to her after killing Cinderella
Is bs1 extremely linear compared to bs2. Other than h scenes and 0 sin stuff I feel like I saw almost everything
Isn't 3 gonna be the final game? And it's gonna be out soon, at this point it doesn't matter if redditgays discover the game

if i remember correctly he also said that he plans to draw all enemies in blacksouls 3 instead of what it is in blacksouls 1/2 were most are stock rpgmaker sprites
Oh I thought red dead hood was gonna be the equivalent of black souls 3, guess the redditgays need to stay away for a few more years than

Apologies anons ive never posted on Ganker before so i tried it out not knowing i cant delete it.I started playing bs2 a couple of weeks ago and wanted to ask for some clarification on smt.
How was Leaf able to curse red to die when she reaches 18 if her powers were stripped off to create GG?
This has to be bait.

I found this in the files, it is okay to look at it or should I go blind?
I recommend unlocking the vast majority of the areas and only using the map as a reminder.
I don't see why not. It's not like it spoils anything and it gives you a rough idea of if you've explored enough
Okay, here we go

I think mentioning the fact that his name is a spoiler is a bigger spoiler than his name.
I like to think 'Grimm' being someone's go to for a name because that's what everyone calls him in the thread only to get dabbed on and booted back to the menu is what's hooked at least a few new players
I don't know how others experienced it, but I thought his name being Grimm was something like the default character name in Pokemon being Red, or like calling the admiral Admiral in KanColle when technically he's your self-insert. Only later did I learn that his name was in fact very relevant.
...But I wrote "GRIMM" and it send me to the prologue? Did I frick up?
lmao
GET BRICKED GET BRICKED GET BRICKED GET BRICKED GET BRICKED
Uhhhh guys?
Was I supposed to do this at some point?
Read if you've beaten BS1. Removing it from your inventory entirely is what prevents the bad parts of the heroine endings from showing.
Is there a line Leaf says to you if you lose it?
Yes.
Wait, infinite money?
Yeah, but it's a pain in the ass to have to constantly teleport between the entrance to the Lost Empire, talk to Leaf, and then teleport back to the Holy Forest and sell it there and repeat the process. You have far faster ways of earning souls by the time this becomes a thing.
Fuarrrrrk this guy really thinks of everything. Does it mention anything along with that?
I've always wondered, does it work if you sell it?
heavy spoilers for BS1 specifically
its a joke, in BS1 if you get the summonable heroine endings (the ones you get for touching the fog) while you DONT have leaf's ring in your inventory cuts the ending before it gets tragic
if you dont have leaf's ring you get a good ending while if you have it you get a tragic ending
the joke in the pic you posted is that grimms king of Ganker was a happy ending and then leaf's ring caused the shitstorm in the final afterparty and made it tragic ending
also the endings still happend if you dont have the ring you just dont see it
Does Onimusha bypass requiem?
One of her attacks dispells
frick
I am NOT having fun. I feel like this was not the way to go. Guess it's down the fricking hole then.
That's a decently difficult area to deal with if you're on your first cycle and don't know what you're doing. There's another path up north if you are so inclined to keep going up there, but you're going to have to go through entirely different areas to do so.
I dipped the frick out after scavenging a bit. I found a path to the west that but it just led me through to that first shortcut near the kidnapper. I'm just trying to find the noob path man.
Also how the frick do I raise SEN, I accidentally fugged myself with the blacksouls and well uhh pic related.
Use pictures of the little girl to raise your SEN.
If all else fails, kiss your rabbit wife.
If ALL else fails, Node Rape.
>Use pictures of the little girl to raise your SEN.
Wrong item, anon. Pictures and Blackwell's vials lower SEN, meds raise it. He's stuck sexing the rabbit prostitute for now if he wants his SEN up.
Sex the bnuyy. Got it. I'm currently at 20. How much does each fug give?

Alice?
This the way to get easy items I'm guessing?
That is DLC 2, and a lategame powergrinding spot. Feel free to enter now if you want to break the difficulty curve of the game, but there are plot points in there that will probably make no sense to you if you go down too far.
That right there is my wife.
Leave that for until you beat the main game or you will break it in half.
Hmmm what an interesting thing to have next to where you get the 2x souls/drops rings
DLC3 is too hard. There anything I can do to not die against every enemy other than mindless stat grinding at CD?
Stat grinding won't help you.
Hidden Body + Dodo Run
Appreciate it
And consider using the tweedle twins' covenant to have a 100% escape chance.
My friend told me they are at the asylum but I can't find them
You can GITGUD
Raw stats will NOT mindlessly carry you through DLC 3 like it did with the shit beforehand. Also, there's virtually no point in fighting random encounters in DLC 3.
anon i have a hunch of something related to your dlc3 experience
can you tell me what this statue says in your game
It says "Current difficulty: 9"
Another anon blessed!
I failed the reading coprehension check didnt i?Well whatever.Thx for the help,
Oh boy can't wait to find out about this!!
Based Dokuro-chan OP. I remember watching that shit on some random streaming site back in like 06.
I am steadily progressing through BS2. No sight of SINNERnon. Sad.
You've been blessed by the "Angel" huh?Well, feel free to lower it.
HAHAHAi knew it
Enjoy the Dokuro-chan experience.
People really have trouble with the orcs? They all die in one Moonlight Rend for me
when i first got there they used to get first turn
Is your speed below 1k?
A quick tip: Florence's Gun is fricking great against the knights since they're easily broken. Just remember to dispel their Guard if you don't use that one specific skill.
This looks suspicious as frick. And yes, I died in the prologue, I'm a reckless frick.
You're free to use them. For the second part, just keep in mind that there are zero unwinnable fights in the series.

Hey, guys, I clipped Leaf's wings!
The fist Black Souls was based on DS2.
Anon, are you OK?
ARE YOUuuu OK ANON!
HEEHEEEEE OH
i am fine not sure about the other 2
Don't claim my post.
I would say
BS1 = Demons Douls + DS1
BS2 = Bloodborne + DS2
BS3 (maybe) = DS3 + Elden Ring
Of course, there are references to all souls games throughout, but the main structure and inspiration of the areas match these.
BS1 and DS2 have the same world design. 4 main routes leading to 4 main bosses, with 1 final path to the end boss.
Yeah i can see that, but DS1 also follows a similar structure with Four Kings area, Dukes Archives, Tomb of the Giants, and Lost Izalith leading to the kiln.
Also the whole fog that transforms people into literal demons(beasts) some unknown godlike entity that people either are ignorant of, fear, or worship and An old conqueror monarch that destroys their own empire to pursue demonic power in a fit of apathy while pursued by their son are very much similar to DeS. The sin system is also lifted from DS1.
The first Black Souls was based.
Black Souls based
Oh, God. It's worse than I thought.
In the Journey of wind and memory worth playing? I tried to boot it up, but it crashed my save and I have to start a new one
I want to know if the mod is worth playing before I start investing in my character once again
>In the Journey of wind and memory worth playing?
Frick no. If you're absolutely desperate for more BS content, go ahead, but I played through it a while back and hated pretty much every moment of it.
Can you give me a summary on what it is about, and how it concludes?
Bonus if you could also tell me about the h-scenes
The mod itself is unfinished, at least last I checked. You're basically given a fetch quest in the base game that has you scouring Wonderland for shit, then you talk to the queen Fluffy and start the mod proper. First area's a small train scene, lasts a bit too long for my tastes but it's still better than the bullshit that comes afterwards. Once you're off the train, you spend even more time in a horribly unoptimized hellhole filled with invisible traps and annoying as shit enemies in another fricking fetch quest with stupid requirements for completion. After that's done, you spend most of the rest of the DLC's plot chasing after Dorothy through a small village, a forest, and then a few larger cities. Once you finally catch up with her, you can either be a moron and ditch her and let her die from your stupidity, or meet up with her and fight a boss with her. Once that's done, you move on to her house, various memory flame equivilants happen, and you're given another choice at the end of it that you can frick up on. Do it right though and you unlock the, uhh, "privilege" of fighting various new bosses in the previous areas, with their own bullshit unlock requirements because FRICK YOU. The actual end of content when I played was just a short bonfire scene and that was it. There's another area beyond that that's supposed to be under construction, but I don't know if I have the heart to even bother finishing the mod whenever it comes out.

What level should I be to fight Baphomet?
The more important question is if you got C yet. You're probably at a point in the game where it probably doesn't matter what level you are, colored souls are going to impact your stats more anyways.
I don't even know if I can get C since Goose is tied to Elma who I missed. I only get the bank options when I talk to her.
Anything relating to the Black Trial is D content. Ideally you'll save that for last, but ultimately the decision is up to you. Neither Goose or Elma should be permanently missable, and I don't recall Elma being tied to Goose in the first place.
The guide I found says there's an event with Goose at the Sea of Trash, but seeing as how I've gotten ending B already and there's still no option to make her a party member, I can only assume I missed it.
guess I'll just reset the cycle if D is meant for later
>guide
What is the modern obsession with blindly following a guide on a first run of a game?
Drop a few thousand souls with Goose, she'll move to the Sea of Trash.
I'd rather not use one, but the alternative is to beat my head into the wall for hours and hours.
Like I looked through the entire Forest of the Abandoned twice over for Elisabeth's ring and couldn't find shit because I didn't know it'd be an enemy drop instead of a sparkle on the ground.
These threads exist for a reason, and it's not just for 500+ posts of arguing over cryptic lore.
There are zero unwinnable fights in the series. You failed the tutorial. You can get the reward for beating it later though.
Honestly, I thought I'd end up being obnoxious not being able to put 2 and 2 together.
i miss my wife and her singing armored core songs, bros.
Was I supposed to kill the dragon in my first run? Fricker was dealing FRICK YOU damage.
yes, you fricked up badly

Gonna eat the bullet and start again, after all I'm just starting and I refuse to look like a moron in a tutorial, and I know that if I continue without learning the ropes I'm going to get shitstomped every other fight.

Being a diehard fan of a pony cartoon for ten years olds for years after the show ended to the point you use a board solely for discussion of said show, or being mad that porn of said show is still being spammed where it shouldn't?
Yeah take that you oversized lizard, also I now know that there are attacks that can't be parried.
Good job, Anon.
How are we going to go about our gatekeeping campaign?
We need to learn from the mistakes of others.
This shit is going to inevitably ramp up more and more, we just need to make sure that people don't want to get involved.
Actual nsfw e-girl fanart and cheshire posting come to mind but we all need to put in the effort
When you least expect it the thread's going straight to /vg/.

Apparently, talking and even mentioning Tenma in discord for black souls gives main moderator PTSD, whatever
What are the chances that Tenma get hyped and said her friend Albino(another streamer) about it and we get more BS streams and another youtube video? How possible this to be canon event?
I think you should have a nice day in the head for knowing who these people are.
It's possible that the type of people who want to watch some literalwho stream eroge would also be the type to demand more of it, suggest it to other streamers, or check it out on their own. I know it's fun to see people post their progress on a playthrough here, streams may not be that different.
I'd like to see more people who actually would appreciate the game get to hear about it, but it seems more likely people would just very publicly hate it or even harass a dev. Or even worse it becomes another stupid zoomer meme punchline up there with boku no pico or mr incredible in monochrome or whatever. I know people who love DS and rpgmaker games who still won't come near it. If it gets big enough to reach people who don't even know what h-games are, it could cause problems. Being hated on its own wouldn't matter a lot, but if it starts impacting development somehow then that would be the worst.
This is without a doubt the worst possible outcome
The best we can hope for is for those vtumors and e-celebs to actually play the game and not throw in a fricking reddit tier joke every 5 minutes because their normalgay brains are cringing at the game and dialogues.
But I know that won't happen. These people are untalented hacks who'd do anything for attention. If they unironically enjoy the game, their audience will catch on and start flaming them. That, or they'll spam the chat with ""memes"", hijacking the entire stream, and forever associating the game with the said meme
When I looked at that discord they kept complaining about raiding and dreaded having more spikes in users. I guess they have trouble moderating it. Even having about a dozen king of v posters enter was enough to make them screech. In a situation where a new game is released but isn't translated yet, I could totally see that place being overrun with spoilers. Discord servers that big seem hellish
Albino quit the incest game just one line in, no way he will have the courage to play BS.
Also stop talking about streamers.

Alright there. It's weird how Elizabeth was much harder than Mary Sue.
The game was mediocre with writing overall, but at least combat was fun. The regular route is pretty generic aside from the obvious stuff. C route is interesting but very short.
I expect D to be decent, but I don't think I'll go for A with how close it is to B.
Ending D mostly works as a setup for BS2, it's not that good on its own. Going back to it after beating 2 and finally understanding just what went down is very satisfying, but you'll just be confused on your first playthrough.
BS2's writing maintains the same (if not better) quality of writing as ending C, but it's much bigger and longer.
Yoooo, what the hell my homies, why did no one told me that the Mod was translated?
And not finished actually, what the hell Dorothybros.
It actually make sense in canon, you'll see why next game.
Ah, I'm reminded of the first times I used Black Souls Master Key, only to get fricked because I put it in the wrong hole, but the right hole because the dev knew I would try it there...

How I'm meant to beat this frick? He bypass parry, dodge and defend.
I forget, maybe focus on damage instead of recovering from his attacks, use status effects, or mess with your equipment
Status effects were way stronger in Red Hood's Woods. Ice can just stunlock some major bosses and sleep+poison lets you take down stuff way stronger than you.

Still playing BS1. I've already been spoiled on Ending C and part of Ending D. I do not know what happens in A and B.

starting bs2 now, is there a way to get a better fullscreen than just alt+enter? it fricking with the resolution of everything is a major pain in the ass
also, are all the start options the same as in BS1 where they just give you equipment you can get elsewhere? or does it matter this time
The most important thing it does is choose your character portrait
even that is changeable later
Try this patch: https://gitgud.io/Astrologeos/the-black-souls-bin/-/tree/master/Patches/Fullscreen++%20for%20Black%20Souls%202
I think it only works if you hit f8, alt enter doesn't

So I just finished ending H.How did Mary curse red if she had her powers stripped of her to create GG.Do they just share some sort of special bond she red was her first creation?
Mary fricking over Red and Grimm should occur while she still had her powers, so RHW and BS1 respectively.
So Mary predicted something like this may happen in the distant future and cursed lep during bs1 or she was just annoyed at the fact that red survived so she cursed her in RH.Poor red.
>or she was just annoyed at the fact that red survived so she cursed her in RH
I'm assuming it's this, given Mary's thoughts on Red.
She just put an expiration date on her when she made her.
When Mary made Red you could say it was a test run, she didn't really want Red for anything other than for what was supposed to happen in Red Hood's Woods. When she "wrote" red into reality she made her a strong heroine fated to die young, because she just loves tragic endings
There's a massive debate in the community about this. The only things we 100% know for real it's that it was before BS1, and it's either Grimm or Lewis. If it was Lewis it happened before Leaf kidnapped him and turned him into Grimm, when ToC originally kidnapped Lewis. The other option is that Leaf kidnapped Lewis, made him and all the other authors into Grimm, and then, somehow, in some way, ToC snatched him back before BS1, but Leaf kidnapped him again
Mary is not very good at limiting her creations. When she made the Sleeping Beauty she was capable of erasing every other actor in the garden from existence when awoken. Since Grimm has the power to freely traverse the gardens it could be that right after his creation he accidentally managed to slip back to Earth and that's when TCO and Mary fought with each other over him.
She was good at limiting Red.
>Since Grimm has the power to freely traverse the gardens it could be that right after his creation he accidentally managed to slip back to Earth and that's when TCO and Mary fought with each other over him.
I'm of the opinion that Grimm's got Yog's original Silver Key either on him or as part of his being, and that it's what lets him travel freely. Mary was the last one that had it, and the Master Keys we use throughout the series are copies of it too. Still, the ability to do something doesn't mean that you have the strength or chance to do something. Up until the very end of BS1, Mary's far stronger than Grimm is, and she watches her garden closely. I don't see that changing for anything beforehand.
I'm gonna take a shot in the dark and assume you have a Knight Sword +3 in your inventory now.
When DRH or the princess game releases, the English patch won't be available until months
Will you be willing to play an MTL version?
>Will you be willing to play an MTL version?
That's how I first played BS2 years back. Even played DLC 3 on release while not being able to read a lick of nip.
I don't think we'll have much option either way, rare_cats is totally AWOL so it's eithier learning to read nip or relying on MTL butchery.
Who took over after the cat, and how long did it take to finish their work?
Nobody, they disappeared after DLC 3's translation.
What's the significance of DLC3 having character quests again? In BS1 it was all a play orchestrated by Mary Sue, so it made sense for it to have elaborate quests, while in BS2 it's all just horny brainrotted Black personmen in a decaying world, participating half-heartedly in TCO's poor sham of a play, so it had little to no quests. But why do Carnacki and Gerda have elaborate quests? What even are they and how did they get there? Gerda is obviously one of Andersen's fairy tales, but who created her?
Hell no. I'll start completely avoiding Ganker (maybe except Ganker) the moment DRH drops and I won't be coming back until I play and finish the translated version.
I have no fricking idea
It's in the past, so maybe they just went there... but this doesn't make sense as they leave books behind. Maybe GG summoned them there?
While it's never explicitly stated, Node's dialogue when you're doing the library questline in the base game implies that there were many other fairy tales that Mary pulled the same shit to like she did to the fairy tales in BS1. If I had to guess, TCO just took fricking everything when BS1 ended.
Like the other anon said, when TCO took over, they seemed to take everything related to mary's garden. Probably including these people. This is evidenced by the fact that they drop fairy tales/books upon their completion.
They are most likely real people who changed into a fairy tale like Grimm, Red, and the other BS1 companions. Florence in particular also has knowledge of Black personmen and knows she was changed into a furry and trapped in a garden (the crimean nursive graveyard).
On the more narrative side, I think these 3 represent certain aspects of Grimm as he has progressed as a character to where he is in DLC3. This is my speculation. Florence holds a selfish desire to save others to extreme lengths, similar to how Grimm seems hellbent on reviving his old BS1 companions back and his failure to "save" over and over again. Gerda's obsession for her lover Kai and ability to create incomplete life in the form of snowmen mimics Grimm's obsession of Alice and his potential in the future as a creator. Ironically, Gerda 's failed questline ends up with her becoming the demonbeast version of the villain in her own story (the snow queen). Carnacki is the strangest one of the 3. In his books, from what I remember reading, he's a flamboyant story-teller and author. His final major story has nothing to do with the paranormal, but a forged book. I think the "crown" he was looking for is a surrogate for this as it follows the story similarly. It may just represent grimm's madness or his lost ability to write due to said madness.
I haven't read Carnacki's book and it's been 2.5 years since I last played DLC3, but doesn't Carnacki represent Grimm's acknowledgment of reality, rather than being stuck in an illusion? Carnacki refuses to acknowledge facts (Grimm killing the boss after the bridge chain) and falls for illusions and needs a reminder in order not to fall to his death. Even one of Lorde's lines is about 'smashing the fake eyes that won't even see reality'.
In their incomplete state, the 3 companions represent Grimm's flaws - his excessive desire to save the dead people from his past (even to the detriment of himself and others), his obsessive love, and his denial of reality. By resolving their problems and accepting them into the party, Grimm comes to terms with his past and is ready to face the future fully prepared. At least that's my interpretation of it based on my flawed memories. I don't even remember what Gerda's good ending is like.
Are they only flaws though ? I think having then on the last fight is more than that they are part of Grimm strenght despite being flaws, if there is a a thing in common beetwen the 3 is that they keep moving on trying to achieve their goals. More than just accepting those flaws i think they represent what is capable of making Grimm moving on in this endless despair
About Carnacki in specific at first might seem only denial of reality but i think it also represents Grimm desire to find the truth and not just accept the word of others and what they claim the world and he is
You could just call them by a neutral term like character traits. In this interpretation, Grimm changes and makes them work towards something constructive, rather than destructive. I think it's pure semantics though.
I depicted them in a negative light, but it doesnt necessarily have to be that way. I meant it from a more neutral position as aspects of Grimm's character. Each one, I think, can be taken positively as well. Florence's aspiration, while misguided, is still a good one. Gerda's love is seemingly pure and almost child-like. She also has the ability to sort of create and give life even if it's wrong
It's been a couple years since I've read Carnacki's stuff as well, but I can definitely see your take on him. Carnacki almost seems to be the "human" side of Grimm. A story-teller with delusions of grandeur who ultimately ends up alone or dead in his storyline in game. It honestly may hint at a potential storyline for Grimm in the future depending on the path he takes.
> Strictly speaking, this isn't true. She calls you by your inputted name if you don't have her ring in H, which is arguably the single most critical moment in the game. It's not the only case of your inputted name appearing suddenly in DLC 3 or in odd places elsewhere in the series, but everything surrounding that name is a can of worms. Also, while Prickett is Prickett, Prickett is also TCO, and TCO is insistent on referring to you as Lewis, as shown in H.
I admit this is a little bit of a stretch, but to be fair all characters except Red and Mary refer to you as your player name. This could be due to keeping his past out of the equation while Grimm is used as a surrogate for Lewis in TCO's lovestory.
>Black personman event and timepoint
While possible, I dont think there is really any hard evidence for it so far. There are a few major plot events concerning them over the story. Leaf calling out to Lewis, Alice calling out to TCO, the supposed adventures Grimm/Lewis had with TCO Alice in her garden, and the Prickett's/Rabbit's wishes
(me)
Continuing on from the timepoint I believe a lot of evidence points to Leaf actually swooping up Grimm and the tea party itself. Has anyone ever really thought why Wonderland was in Elysium in the first place and why its scope is so small compared to BS2's?
I think that Leaf snatched up Lewis, tortured him and the other souls, and made Grimm. Some time after, TCO was called to the earth and made a deal/wish with Alice Hargraves. From here, TCO swooped in and took Grimm for the original tea party. The rabbit grew jealous and Prickett grew attached leading to a wish the circumvented a part of TCO's then garden taking them in. There we had a fresh mind wipe from Leaf post character creation. I see no reason for TCO to dispose of Lewis' memories when that is exactly what they wanted in the first place-Lewis himself. However, Leaf has a reason to get rid of those previous memories come BS1 as they would interfere with the story she wanted to tell. She literally almost completely wrote Alice (Prickett) out of the story in BS1 intentionally, killing her from the getgo. Grimm even notes this in Alice's book in BS1.
Also a completely non-concrete piece of evidence, the depiction of the tea party very clearly depicts Grimm I think. Toro has drawn Lewis himself and he looks nothing like the character in the tea party. But this could just be a stylistic choice or something on Toro's part.
>who ultimately ends up alone or dead in his storyline
>Grimm ending up like that
...I'm sad.
>except Red
It begs another mystery, how the frick does she know?
To be honest, I always saw you naming Grimm, and him responding at being called by the you picked a sort of symbolism for moving on.
The love story between Lewis/Alice, Grimm/AlicePrickett is over, and we may never find the truth about it all, it's time to let go, this sort of things.
> I could go on but I think you might get the gist of what I'm aiming for here.
To be honest, I don't, except that Grimm may or may not be a Ghoul even with arguments that could be a scretch.
>Why is Grimm called stinky in BS1
Rarely ever said/
>and told that his breath stinks in BS2?
It was said by one character, who is a megusaki. Being told by a megusaki that your breath stink is pretty classic. (which may actually be EMMM playing with tropes)
>Why is Grimm a natural at eating corpses
Bander is playing a role, and Grimm is literally schizo.
I'm not saying it cannot be, I'm saying it could. As for the rest, I have zero idea, I'm sorry, but those questions are indeed important.
>That's an entirely different situation from what happens in BS1 D.
Why are you bringing it up? I don't get it.
Yeah it was mindblowing for me to discover that those jellyfish things were that!
>Rarely ever said/
>It was said by one character, who is a megusaki.
The fact that it was said at all in both games should be enough to raise suspicion. This is a series that relies heavily on foreshadowing and little one-off lines like those to build future moments on, both in the game they're in and for future games. I don't think there's any reason to doubt what's been said in either game. They might be b***hes, but that just means that they don't have to bother with manners, it doesn't mean that they're lying to us or should be ignored or deemed irrelevant when it comes to things like this either. After all, every source of information is important in this series, no matter what mouth it comes from.
>Bander is playing a role, and Grimm is literally schizo.
People break character in BS2 more frequently than you think, and Grimm's insanity has no bearing on this at all.
>As for the rest, I have zero idea, I'm sorry, but those questions are indeed important.
Luckily, I have some guesses about most of those and other questions I didn't ask you. I've been asking myself them because they feel important and relevant to this, which is the same reason why I managed to put together that bit about Prickett falling to Earth and the Ghoul following her in the first place.
>Why are you bringing it up? I don't get it.
Because BS1 D was part of my original response here?
>>Calling your by your input name seems more like an aknowledgment that things aren't the same anymore imo.
>I'd buy that if it wasn't for TCO using your player inputted name in D, and not only using it but specifying that you're meeting again while using your player inputted name.
What I don't really get is why you brought up that event in the reverse route in response.
Oh I agree, this raises suspicion, but it's not a big fat red flag, it's more like a tiny flag imo.
To be clear, I'm not saying you are wrong, I'm saying I prefer to be cautious.
Yeah, but it's only two times, with very few characters talking about it, if it was important or annoying, more people would have talked about it, especially the one that aren't in roles.
>every source of information is important in this series, no matter what mouth it comes from
That is however, very true.
>People break character in BS2 more frequently than you think, and Grimm's insanity has no bearing on this at all.
That is true... but where is the proofs for that? For all we know, in the past cycles, Grimm was just raping, killing and devouring too. Both are possible, until his sanity was, er, unlocked a bit?
>Luckily, I have some guesses about most of those and other questions
Well... Yeah, I don't have enough space to ask, but...
>the Ghoul following her
That Ghoul must have been important, being compared to an angel and having the most baddass weapon....
>Because BS1 D was part of my original response here?
>she's obsessed with this "wonderland just for you"
The entire creation and recreation of Wonderland in the first place was because of her obsession with Lewis, it tracks to me at least.
>Prickett might part of TCO, but she's her own person, and she's kind of tight lipped.
Prickett is her own person, but she's still inexorably linked to TCO. While we get much more insight into Prickett's thoughts and feelings than the rest of TCO, that isn't reason to dismiss what comes straight from TCO either.
>Adding to this, in the first game, "Alice"/Prickett calls you Grimm, and Leaf "taunt" you, that is Grimm, not anyone else, for killing "your dear Alice". Not Lewis, Grimm.
Lewis is already part of the collective in BS1, Mary taunting about killing Alice there still makes sense. She even went out of her way to recreate the end of the tea party as BS1's opening scene. Also, Mary only directly calls you by your inputted name in C, I just reran it (and D) to check. She mentions the authors (Grimm, Lewis, Andersen), of course, but she doesn't use their names to when addressing you throughout C. Even during and after the fight with her she (and Alice) continues using your inputted name.
>Calling your by your input name seems more like an aknowledgment that things aren't the same anymore imo.
I'd buy that if it wasn't for TCO using your player inputted name in D, and not only using it but specifying that you're meeting again while using your player inputted name. It's used before TCO can enter the garden in D, but not afterwards until TCO uses it.
>Angel was Prickett
Definitely not. Pic related is incomplete, but should still prove that to you.
[...]
Not as we know them in BS1/2, but they certainly still existed as part of TCO.
I'm an idiot, I can be often scatterbrained, I'm sorry.
>I'd buy that if it wasn't for TCO using your player inputted name in D, and not only using it but specifying that you're meeting again while using your player inputted name.
Honestly, I thought she was using her brain for once or using her Black personman magic to know, since she is all about Dat Lewis.
>What I don't really get is why you brought up that event in the reverse route in response.
Ah, that wasn't talking about the reverse route, I was talking about DLC3 where Grimm is in the medical fluid with TCO and try to remember his name, until Prickett uses Za Warudo and tell him the name you picked. I'm sorry again.
>Well... Yeah, I don't have enough space to ask, but...
I'd elaborate more right now, but post space is a c**t and making sure everything I've written makes sense and is right as far as I understand it is much harder when I've been up for over 32 hours. I already just fricked up a spoiler tag, which I usually take as my sign to call it.
>Oh I agree, this raises suspicion, but it's not a big fat red flag, it's more like a tiny flag imo.
I'd say that's typically that's how foreshadowing works in this series, there's a much greater emphasis on subtle hints than major ones. Major and direct hints can work too, but needs to be dealt with carefully to make sure that you're not doing shit like just dumping bricks of text around without regard for the reader, and EMMM seems to prefer saving that kind of thing for major events ingame like beating the Old King.
>Although I dont remember what scene this was from.
It's from the VN, which is GG recreating Lewis's torture done to him by Mary, and with Lewis seeming to be in control for the sequence. That one comes from the First Daughter's scene in there.
>I'd say that's typically that's how foreshadowing works in this series
Yeah, this IS a soulsborne inspired game, that put a motherfricking cadaver in the first game as an important character in the second game and in the entire series after all.
> like beating the Old King.
He's important? Other than being implied to be Mordred/Arthur?
>I'd elaborate more right now.
I'd help a bit by saying what questions confused me about what you were implying by asking them. God help those who help themselves after all.
>Why does Lewis have memory and self-identification issues upon waking in the memory flame, and why does Grimm have memory and self-identification issues in H despite the power to change not affecting his memory anymore?
> Why did you go to the Nursing Graveyard (where the first Ghoul was created) in the first place, when Cheshire tells you this is an unwanted and unplanned detour?
>Why did Jabber know what was behind the door, and why was that door in her personal domain?
>How long were the Tweedles around for in the Nursing Graveyard, and how long have they had the rattle from Jabber?
The last one especially.
>but post space is a c**t
You're telling me kek.
>and with Lewis seeming to be in control for the sequence
Kind of make me want to slap Lewis a bit, I didn't take advantage of that in the first game! Low blow Lewis, low blow!
YOU WERE THE CHOSEN ONE!
You know, I expect the best she will get is to understand that what she's doing is wrong and toxic, cry a whole lot about it, and kill herself.
>Why does Lewis have memory and self-identification issues upon waking in the memory flame, and why does Grimm have memory and self-identification issues in H despite the power to change not affecting his memory anymore?
Ties back in with my idea of there being Ghoul frickery involved. Ghouls live entirely by deluding themselves into thinking that they are who they think they are, as per Lorina's questline and Meryphilia's bullshit. There's still that Ghoul that followed TCO down to Earth that should be in play in the memory flame (I imagine it's hard to miss a Black personman falling to and impacting the Earth in a shower of blood if you're an immortal Black personman hunting warrior), and it's clearly a fresh wound for TCO since their blood is still raining from the sky when Lewis wakes up. The fact that Lewis wakes up surrounded by rubble (what I assume is damage from TCO's fall to Earth) and has TCO literally right next to him when he does wake up also raises my suspicion.
For Grimm, it's that godforsaken inputted name that comes up again that really fricking bugs me. Not only does Grimm briefly believe that his identity is that of the inputted name without any external stimuli or prompting, but Prickett refers to him with it if he doesn't have her ring, GG refers to him with that identity in both the VN (explicitly telling that name to escape and not get devoured, despite the rest of the VN revolving around Lewis specifically) and just before the fight with GG asking that name to merge with it, and most importantly Node even refers to you with it post-GG merge despite no longer being in Wonderland and having no need to stick to roles or scripts of any kind, and this is just in DLC 3 alone. This is probably the point where I bring up that this inputted name seems to be most consistently associated with creation/creativity, even during BS1 C this name is immediately followed by the title of "Lord Creator" at the end of it.
1/?
I do have some sticking points with this idea. One of them is that in both cases, when memory and identification issues occur identification comes from without rather than within. For Lewis, it's the last thing TCO says in the memory flame that gives him a concrete identity to work around (Mr. XXX), while for Grimm it's Prickett that gives him a concrete identity to focus on in H. Looked at another way, this does give them the opportunity to enforce a specific identity upon the person if they don't want another identity and set of memories taking control. In both cases, this could potentially be the identity and memories of that Ghoul in question.
Another one, and this sounds oxymoronic, but we know that we don't have all of the answers for what went down in the past, and DLC 3 makes little effort to hide that fact and actively teases the player about it being important in the future. For as much as I and others have been trying to piece together what happened during this period of time, the simple fact of the matter is that we still have very little information to actively work off of right now. While I can put together theories and ask myself questions like this, concrete proof is very difficult to come by with regards to this shit. Frankly I feel lucky to have even put together that shit about TCO's fall and the Ghoul in the first place, and that feels easy in comparison to everything else here despite needing to compare multiple one-off lines from wildly different sources across BS2. At the end of the day, no matter how much digging I do right now or how confident I feel about something, it's still quite possible that we just don't fricking know what we don't know, and that there is no concrete proof for certain shit in the series right now. I don't think that's the case, given EMMM's boner for foreshadowing and how he seems to have a very detailed timeline of events he works off when writing both games, but it is still possible.
2/?
>Why did you go to the Nursing Graveyard (where the first Ghoul was created) in the first place, when Cheshire tells you this is an unwanted and unplanned detour?
My initial theory on this one at least is pretty simple, and ties in with your next few questions. I believe that Jabber purposefully altered where the door would lead. Mabel, Prickett, and Node all have NOTHING to gain from sending you there, in fact you being there only risks their asses and your ass even more, and Cheshire's dialogue only seems to reinforce this fact. Process of elimination here should only leave Jabber, so what does Jabber possibly have to gain by doing such a thing? I think that's the real question that needs to be asked here.
>and why was that door in her personal domain?
I don't have an answer on this one, unfortunately. She references the Chaos Dungeon as part of her warning to you as she leaves, but that's about it. However,
>Why did Jabber know what was behind the door
Also ties in with the next actual question, and another fairly simple theory on this one. I believe that Jabber has been there before, but how long ago is the question left unanswered. The garden that the Nursing Graveyard is in is one of the oldest places we've seen in the series, and it used to be part of the Garden of Eden, before it was exiled from it (as per the Guardian Angel description). Both it and the Mental Ward seem to have played a big role in the earlier development of Wonderland as well.
3/?
Thought I had the image for this one prepared before, whoops.
>How long were the Tweedles around for in the Nursing Graveyard,
Now this, this has an actual answer given ingame, though it's not as complete as I'd like it to be and it raises a whole host of other questions and issues assuming my understanding of events is correct. Florence's diary is the main thing here, as assuming it's written well before the events of DLC 3 and in chronological order like it seems to be, the third entry details Florence transferring the twins to another medical facility (which should probably be the Mental Ward, assuming the Tweedles or anything else haven't been straight up lying to us). I think it's very important to note that this is the third entry in the diary. The fourth details the creation of the first Ghoul.
Do you see the same problem here that I do? Assuming that diary is written in chronological order, this should mean that the twins were already around and transferred out of the Nursing Graveyard even before the creation of the first Ghoul. We already know that what followed TCO down to Earth was a Ghoul given existing lore and lines, and this specific event should take place before the events of the tea party. What's more, the very last entry (which seems to be dated much later) talks about the Hospital being exiled. Exiling, as far as I remember, is only ever used in reference to the Nursing Graveyard being exiled from the Garden of Eden (again, Guardian Angel armor description), which should mean that before this point in time the garden the Nursing Graveyard is in was still also part of the Garden of Eden.
Oh, and I guess 5/5 now.
God's Angels and the Star Fluid should also probably be referenced here. The Star Fluid mentions that drifters (both mortal and Outer One alike) wash ashore in the Nursing Graveyard, and God's Angels (+0/+5) directly states that it's a god hunter's weapon, that said god hunter found himself adrift and ended up washing ashore in the Nursing Graveyard, whereupon he became the first to experience the star medicine (Star Fluid). If it wasn't for God's Angels and the Guardian Angel lines, I'd have assumed that there's another source for Ghouls somewhere else in the BS universe, but this just doesn't seem to be the case.
Needless to say, I have some issues with making sense of all of this. I feel that TCO falling to Earth and being chased down by a Ghoul is supported enough with what I've presented from ingame lines, and we have a relatively concrete time period in which that'd take place too. It's having that make sense with this that's the problem. Maybe I'm still missing something, or misunderstanding something that'd make it all click.
>and how long have they had the rattle from Jabber?
This is the question of the day, I think, and unfortunately I don't think there's a concrete answer for this ingame. It could just be a one-off brick joke, only existing to tie it to a funny line from the Tweedles way earlier in the game. That said, this isn't really EMMM's style, and everything else surrounding the twins, the Nursing Graveyard/Mental Ward, and Jabber herself seems like it's more than just that.
And I guess a bonus 6/5 image, and another question to be asked. Just what exactly is the time scale BS takes place on?
Oh, and hopefully everything I've written so far doesn't come across as complete schizo babbling. I know I'm bouncing all over the place plotwise and lorewise in the series here, and a lack of sleep when writing doesn't help shit make sense either.
I think you kept in in the boundaries of reason, good catch on connecting some the item descriptions. Toro took in on to himself to create a story that in a sense is similar to Souls storytelling and lore, with the difference of scope and that he cares to make the lore/story consistent Dark Souls 3 was rewrite multiple times and left objects, characters and more in places just so that they would kind of fit and released the game
Digging in the things like you did to pick out miss able details that probably foreshadow events that will be important in the future makes sense considering the consistent characteristic of the events taking place. I would be shocked if he had not a complete layout of the events before releasing BS1.
We are at a point similar to that before the third DLC, even thou the path has breadcrumbs they are too far apart and we cant follow a route with utmost certainty.
>spoiler
I really hate how the Dark Souls trilogy ended up as. If I had to compare it to something, it would be to the new Star Wars trilogy, with people playing catch with it as the ball. It's frustrating. Devs have clear ideas of what to do but it's not transfered in the next game, on top of having unused content and ideas being scrapped.
There is no clear plot, or plot being followed, just signs of plot having happened, this is why I like Bloodborne, Sekiro, and Elden Ring more, they still keep mysteries, but have a more tangible plot and storyline that you can actually make sense of without having to do mental sports for.
Oh and, frick the Blue Bar, and the Mana Flask this was a terrible idea.
>DaS2
Still my favorite game of the franchise despite it's flaws just because of the sheer freedom of it.
Same here, anon. It has its issues, but you can do so much stuff that I can't complain too much.
Ah, excluding open world games and those kinds of RPGs.
I still need to finished BG1...
I hate how Dark Souls 3 was linear. And how it was always the same kind of grim environment. DS2 had variety of everything..
Oh and the spells were the most balanced, which is saying something not really good. (In DS they are overpowered, in DS3, they are are underpowered)
That's tutorial level stuff. How do you miss that?
Call me a gay, but I could never get into BG 1/2. I just hate RTwP too much. So glad Owlcat dropped it for RT, could never get into Pathfinder either.
I really gotta try ToEE, I heard somewhere that its combat system is peak turn-based RPG.
Don't worry about it too much, anon. I started playing over a year ago, and I still haven't gotten past Act 1. I just have no idea what I'm doing most of the time.
This beg the question, why transferring them? Wait, doesn't one of them want to eat the other?
Talk about e-girlbabas.
>assuming the Tweedles or anything else haven't been straight up lying to us
They do schizo talks, as if they were one being, but I really don't think they would ever lie.
The Ghoul become a Ghoul? Heh.
...It's weird how they kept the weapon and armor, don't you think? What if The Ghoul was actually an Great One's avatar?
>It could just be a one-off brick joke, only existing to tie it to a funny line from the Tweedles way earlier in the game. That said, this isn't really EMMM's style, and everything else surrounding the twins, the Nursing Graveyard/Mental Ward, and Jabber herself seems like it's more than just that.
That's not EMMM's style yeah. It's annoying, characters who know things either can't remember or know but can't explain it properly.
Good question. Harder to answer with GG being GG. Grimm seems to awaken in a medieval setting, but considering how BS2 look, it could easily be Victorian era.
In insight, pic related really was a foreshadowing.
This Anon that you actually spoken to, scuzy sir, I was busy.
>Oh, and hopefully everything I've written so far doesn't come across as complete schizo babbling. I know I'm bouncing all over the place plotwise and lorewise in the series here, and a lack of sleep when writing doesn't help shit make sense either.
You come off as passionate. Like Hitler, Michael Jordan, and Jesus.
I don't believe that everything you said could happen or happened, it would be too good to be true, but seeing someone being so passionate about something is nice.
So what you are trying to say... is that Lewis got devoured by The Ghoul, and Grimm inherited it?
The VN is really weird, it's believed to be the Lewis' White Room, but there's some apparent novelty in it that scream "GG is just copying Leaf's past work, and doesn't know what to do, with maybe TCO being there chasing you from the future or the past", and so we are lost in the speculation wagon for it.
It's funny, I never thought much about that name, just like I said above I just thought it was originally just a memory memory wipe, that eventually evolved into Grimm just letting go of things.
...Maybe Grimm's real name really isn't Grimm, but the name you put in and it's assumed you put it in both game, but then, why does Red call by this name?
>Meryphilia's bullshit
Don't insult my wife, she may not be alive, but her memory, love and loyalty are still aliive!
>EMMM's boner for foreshadowing
It's funny, because it's very frustrating in the sequel series, but it work for EMMM because while he does do it at the very end of DLC3, he also do it, in general, so it's better.
Still think that DLC3's sequelbaiting was too much of a dick move tho.
So the big question would be, why would Jabber do that, what does she have to gain from all of it? And how did she gain the power fo modify spawn points?
1/?
In any case, thank you for taking your time to explain it all to me. I appreciate it.
>I dont think there is really any hard evidence for it so far.
Are you quite sure about that? If it was Cheshire alone I could understand your skepticism, but Mabel is an entirely different matter. She doesn't really mince words about it either, pic related. Friendly reminder that Black personmen are tied to bells as well, it's why Carol of the Bells is the generic Black personman theme, why DLC 3's battle theme/GG's first phase is half bells, and why you get bells when you lose to TCO in the reverse route.
>I believe a lot of evidence points to Leaf actually swooping up Grimm and the tea party itself. Has anyone ever really thought why Wonderland was in Elysium in the first place and why its scope is so small compared to BS2's?
The general idea people seem to have here is that Mary came in and stole whoever and whatever wasn't nailed down when she invaded the tea party, yes. It's the point in time where I believe she picked up Lewis and others, and there's multiple people in BS1's Wonderland that were from the Tea Party.
>TCO was called to the earth and made a deal/wish with Alice Hargraves.
That doesn't really track with what we see in the memory flames, or in the white prison in G. Alice doesn't know why she was there in the white prison, as far as she knew she was just sleeping and found herself there.
>From here, TCO swooped in and took Grimm for the original tea party.
TCO needs an entry point, and this setup doesn't really provide it. It's stuck waiting on the edges of Mary's garden in BS1 for a reason. One of the most consistent rules so far in the series is that unless you're a succ or have an invitation to enter, you're not capable of entering a garden if you're not welcomed there.
1/2
>I see no reason for TCO to dispose of Lewis' memories when that is exactly what they wanted in the first place-Lewis himself.
Funny, because TCO does the exact same thing to Lewis in BS2. In fact, they even go out of their way to delete other people that mention shit like the original Red Queen that TCO doesn't seem to want you to know about. Anyways, as far as memory goes partial memory wipes are a thing too, but more importantly I don't think Lewis was memory wiped at all during the events of the tea party, he just refused to believe that the hellscape that he originally woke up to was reality. Given the way that Red describes the place in BS2, I can see why.
>She literally almost completely wrote Alice (Prickett) out of the story in BS1 intentionally, killing her from the getgo. Grimm even notes this in Alice's book in BS1.
Unless you mean 02's fairy tale she drops in BS1 (which doesn't mention anything like this), I'm 99% sure that's Grimm's book there on the table, like it is in BS2. In any case, what's written there applies to all of the fairy tales, and BS2 reiterates this idea of the books being stolen and having their endings being altered by Mary at the start of its library quest as well. I don't believe that book applies to Prickett.
> Are you quite sure about that? If it was Cheshire alone I could understand your skepticism, but Mabel is an entirely different matter. She doesn't really mince words about it either, pic related.
I forgot to mention this explicitly yeah. The memory flame where Alice Hargraves calls out to TCO is immediately followed by the scene of Grimm/Lewis with memory loss and TCO entering the world accompanied by the bells and monsters walking the street. This event directly led to the first tea party.
The first tea party is what I believe Mabel is talking about here. It was TCO/Prickett's attempt at a romantic play in their garden where other events like the "red queen" happened. Now, whether she is referring to (you) as in Grimm or Lewis I dont actually know. I personally lead towards the former since it makes more sense to me at face value. I'm not sure if you count this as a separate Black personman event to the angel/goddess falling from the sky debate. I kind of just see it as a series of events that happens once TCO enters the world to take Grimm/Lewis.
> Funny, because TCO does the exact same thing to Lewis in BS2. In fact, they even go out of their way to delete other people that mention shit like the original Red Queen that TCO doesn't seem to want you to know about. Yeah, based on red, whatever happened Black personman event essentially demonbeastified the real world. I need to see the memory flame again, because I dont think he even remembers his identity or Alice when he is saved during that event. I dont have it on me right now
>Alice Hargraves calls out to TCO
Alice isn't shown to make a prayer or wish of any kind in that memory flame. Obviously, she still has feelings for Lewis as Lewis does for her, but there's no current indication that something like what Lorina or Edith/Leopold did ever occurred in her case. Going purely off what we see in the memory flame and in G, Alice was watching the stars, fell asleep, and found herself trapped in the dream, unless I'm missing a piece of information elsewhere that says otherwise.
>The first tea party is what I believe Mabel is talking about here.
I could see it, if it wasn't for the fact that Mabel mentions just beforehand about shit like this happening with Black personmen "before the Wonderland Dream". Wonderland itself has been around since the tea party. The way I read it is that Mabel is continuing with that same timeframe of before Wonderland existed with regards to the encounter she mentions.
>memory flames
Here.
You should have enough information by now to put it together.
I swear I tagged that image.
>Endings are labeled A,B,C and D for a reason, the girls endings are ending B
I don't know where this idea keeps coming from, but they're not B. The character endings are entirely distinct from BS1 B, they have their own titles.
See
Guess I'll blame refresh timers for not seeing that in time then.
>pic
What a boring ending, it's so weird they don't even encourage you to try better, especially considering how BS2 is. On the other hand, it would be kind of insulting the player's agency and choices.
The red flags were present all along, don't feel bad, you aren't the only being that was blindsided. I wasn't. The world being like that was the confirmation I didn't need.
Lemme repost that image with spoiler tags this time and finally go to fricking bed.
It's been a while since I've seen the flame memories, but yeah it seems like I misremembered Alice's memory. I still think that she indirectly made a wish with TCO with some of those first statements. She had to get scooped up by TCO somehow because I dont think we have really seen direct Black personman intervention regarding a human without an explicit wish or desire beforehand. This seemed to be the case with Lorina, Baphomet, and Mary at least.
Also something interesting. When she says "And yet you embrace another and whispered fake love. His eyes so similar, the perfect distraction from the choking loneliness and hollowness of it all". Grimm says pretty much the exact same thing in pic related. Although I dont remember what scene this was from. cool writing
I watched the prickett date mini movie about the OG tea part. The black figure being grimm doesn't make much sense to me considering the order of events unless I am mistaken about something. My other option is him being Lewis but I have no evidence to back it up other than just a hunch.
It's almost universally agreed here that it was Lewis at the tea party. There's maybe one or two people that say otherwise, but between Prickett's monologue and TCO's rant at you in H it really should just be Lewis.
Mind giving me an example anon since I'm having difficulty connecting the dots here.
All we know is that it took place before BS1 in TCO's garden and is either Grimm or Lewis. Alice being Prickett
I dont think it's as universally as agreed upon as you think. As one of the few people that disagree, my biggest issue with this is the memory loss flame clearly showing Grimm/Lewis losing his memories to the point of not even remembering their name. The jump in time is also to sudden with leaf answering Lewis' and TCO granting Alice Hargrave's skipping over to the world falling apart.
The other problem is that Prickett, who I think we all agree upon was the alice at the original tea party, never really calls Grimm "Lewis" or "Teacher" or anything similar if I remember correctly. She is adamant on calling him Grimm specifically during important moments and not by any other monikers
>She is adamant on calling him Grimm specifically during important moments and not by any other monikers
>As one of the few people that disagree, my biggest issue with this is the memory loss flame clearly showing Grimm/Lewis losing his memories to the point of not even remembering their name.
I believe there's another Black personman event prior to Lewis entering Wonderland, but I don't believe it's related to Mary. That memory flame also shows that TCO is gravely wounded and fell to Earth with their blood covering and raining down from the skies, and Mary being responsible for that doesn't make sense at all considering what happens in BS1 D.
Going off what item and other lore surrounding the whole event we have, the "Angel" that followed TCO down to Earth is never directly elaborated on in-game, but we know that the "Angel" in question has to be a Ghoul considering they're referred to as such multiple times ingame, including the Guardian Angel's armor description, God's Angels detailing the creation of the first Ghoul and how it's a god (Black personman) hunter's weapon, among other things. The Yellow Cloak also talks about how there are Great Ones that wish for Ghouls to follow them, with the armor itself being a clear reference to Hastur who still also has a presence there in the Nursing Graveyard and even has a Byakhee calling for it with "Ia" in the base game.
1/2
As for the memories themselves, we know they're capable of being tampered with or otherwise suppressed even without the power to change being used (see also: Meryphilia's situation after eating Miranda's corpse), though Grimm's current memory problems in BS2 are largely due to GG's influence. Cheshire's last talk in Winterbell also mentions how "Even the chiming of the bell sleeping in your memory is drowned out by the gears of your mind.", and one of the last things Mabel can mention on the walk down is how you've had a prior Black personman experience that we wouldn't remember before the events of the tea party. Red is also aware of the concept of memory tampering, and seems to accept it as something standard that happens regarding Black personmen considering her reaction when you first meet her in Lutwidge.
>The jump in time is also to sudden with leaf answering Lewis' and TCO granting Alice Hargrave's skipping over to the world falling apart.
If anything, that's the shortest skip in time there is throughout all of the memory flames, in fact I'd bet good money those even occur on the same day. Alice's memory ends with saying how TCO's crawling closer to Earth, and how the fantastic tales which were meant to be over were about to begin once again, a clear reference to TCO's emulation of Alice in Wonderland for the events of the tea party.
Nta but while TCO isn't exactly a valid source of information, as she's obsessed with this "wonderland just for you". Prickett might part of TCO, but she's her own person, and she's kind of tight lipped.
Adding to this, in the first game, "Alice"/Prickett calls you Grimm, and Leaf "taunt" you, that is Grimm, not anyone else, for killing "your dear Alice". Not Lewis, Grimm.
Calling your by your input name seems more like an aknowledgment that things aren't the same anymore imo.
Also I know it's probably just prose, but Grimm isn't a writer or an author, he's just a copy of a Soulsborne protagonist.
...Also Also, I always though that the Angel was Prickett, how weird..
God I love this community so much. I love this series.
>TCO isn't exactly a valid source of information
I have to disagree with you, I don't think there's a single invalid source of information in this series, even for cryptic fricks like Jabber. People will try to manipulate you or hide information from you, but outright lies are pretty rare and pretty much always explained ingame.
That's fair, but TCO is literally a mass of madness and larping of "love" with the power of GG, where Jabber IS a bit insane, but she's nowhere near not a whole mass of madness and schizo.
The term better to describe is unreliable
Jabber CAN be unreliable, and in fact is with her whole spiel about being a Creator when she just "educated" Leaf to fairy tales.
TCO is just diving into madness, saying nonsense, massive AliceXLewis shipper, pretending to be Alice, and pretending that you are Lewis, which you are, technically, but you are also not. Prickett is the one with personalitiy.
Unless TCO is indeed saying something important, in which cases, I'm the Dodo.
>first spoiler
Yes?
>second spoiler
Yes too. But while she is connected and give more insight, it's more like, Prickett/"Alice"'s insight than TCO. She goes against the group.
>third spoiler
Nope. "Alice"/Prickett directly call you Lord "insert name" or Lord Grimm, which mean she recognize that you had the name.
Sometime, I wonder if the whole Lewis/Alice thing didn't just start as a sort of romantic game between Grimm and Prickett, with both fully knowing they are lying, but does so anyway for the "game" of romance. Kind of like a Romeo and Juliet.
>fourth spoiler
It's one of the rare part where TCO is actually using something resembling a brain, trying to convince you that she is the Alice you spend two game searching.
>fifth spoiler
So, yeah, Goddess Blood is Pricketts, but the angels are the "things following her?
Yeah, she's insane, but she is giving insight into the LORE.
Even Elizabetih is charmed!
Something to hide Jeanu?
>Nope.
What do you mean nope?
>"Alice"/Prickett directly call you Lord "insert name" or Lord Grimm, which mean she recognize that you had the name.
The only time 01 ever refers to you as Grimm that I can recall is in the opening of the game, and Grimm is the main soul in control for the events of BS1 so it's a fair thing to say. Everywhere else that I can recall, it's always by your inputted name. Even in the message she has 02 deliver to you, it's still your player name, and that message needs to have been made before the opening of BS1 (vessel creation/name input/01's death), as 02 was created and had that message put in it by 01 before 01's death. It, along with TCO saying it in D, just doesn't really track to me. There's a lot of shit about that name that bugs me though.
>It's one of the rare part where TCO is actually using something resembling a brain, trying to convince you that she is the Alice you spend two game searching.
???
There's zero need for TCO to convince you of anything there, what even gives you the idea that it's trying to convince you in the first place there?
>Goddess Blood is Pricketts, but the angels are the "things following her?
Yes, Prickett is the goddess in question that fell to Earth. Black personmen are referred to as gods and goddesses every so often in the series, and there's also the "Cosmos [Heaven]" shit that pops up rarely like in Hein's reverse route dialogue or Carpenter's Tenniel Bridge 0 SEN message. The "angel" that followed her down to Earth is a Ghoul. The singular emphasis on what followed here is important I'm pretty sure. DLC 3 sets up the first Ghoul as being a key figure (he's a fricking Black personman hunter after all), and I imagine we'll get more about them in the future.
Should be at the ranch to the right of the Holy Forest, I think he's in one of the earlier parts of the area.
>What do you mean nope?
Nope?
>first spoiler
That's my point, the opening and the pre recorded message, which was Prickett, if it was Lewis, she shouldn't know that name in the first place, but if the person she knew was named Grimm, it make sense.
>second spoiler
The whole thing right before fighting TCO in BS2, she (seemingly) try to put you in an illusion where everything is fine and try to pass off as the "real" Alice... you can also press esc and she flip her shit.
>third spoiler
But... I though that Ghouls are made, not a genuine race.
....right?
>if it was Lewis, she shouldn't know that name in the first place, but if the person she knew was named Grimm, it make sense.
The series uses a bunch of names and occasional aliases for its characters, but the player inputted name is consistently distinct from the rest of them. H points this out with Grimm's monologue in the flesh pit, so we know the name isn't tied to him in that manner. Assuming that it's another author soul in the collective is a possibility, but that's not the only way shit needs to play out either. Here's some quick questions. Where do you think that Ghoul that followed TCO down to Earth went?
Why is Grimm called stinky in BS1, and told that his breath stinks in BS2? Why does Lewis have memory and self-identification issues upon waking in the memory flame, and why does Grimm have memory and self-identification issues in H despite the power to change not affecting his memory anymore? Why is Grimm a natural at eating corpses, to the extent that even Bander is surprised? Why did you go to the Nursing Graveyard (where the first Ghoul was created) in the first place, when Cheshire tells you this is an unwanted and unplanned detour? Why did Jabber know what was behind the door, and why was that door in her personal domain? How long were the Tweedles around for in the Nursing Graveyard, and how long have they had the rattle from Jabber? I could go on but I think you might get the gist of what I'm aiming for here.
>The whole thing right before fighting TCO in BS2, she (seemingly) try to put you in an illusion where everything is fine and try to pass off as the "real" Alice... you can also press esc and she flip her shit.
That's an entirely different situation from what happens in BS1 D. What TCO did there in BS2 G is part of its last-ditch attempt at keeping you in the dream. There's no need for that in BS1 D, it has control of the situation.
1/2
>I though that Ghouls are made, not a genuine race.
Funny thing about that, from what I can tell in Black personman lore they're both, and can even reproduce with humans. As far as we know right now in BS though, they were made, and made in the Nursing Graveyard with medicine derived from parasites in Black personman blood. You can even find some of those parasites in the Pond of Bloody Tears (filled with Prickett's blood, for reference) and in the Nursing Graveyard.
On this first ghoul debate, what if it was just Grimm, the original Grimm? Complete schizo theory but he was probably created pretty far back. I've always felt like his name is just a clever way of saying he is a collection of fairy tale authors. The Grimm brothers never really created much themselves and instead compiled them into a sort of anthology of fairy tales. Grimm is unique amongst mary's creations in that he holds multiple souls. Grimm's main body holds a lot of the characteristics of ghouls, being immortal and taking on the information of others similar to Meryphillia.
What if the "angel ghoul" Grimm was taken by Leaf and forced him to eat/take in the souls of the other authors essentially acting as a powerful host body to support all these souls.
Some other circumstantial evidence is that Grimm himself is the dominant single personality rather than a pair of brothers. The other authors can take over at some points like Lewis with the red brothel scene.
Also to new players who get caught in the reply crossfire, dont read the big scary black blocks. Spoilers so powerful it will make you go mad
Last I checked, Jabber's brain is rotting, and more importantly she's constantly and uncontrollably vacillating between her original self and given role as Mother Alice during the events of the game, she's more than just a bit insane, just not quite as gone as TCO is.
>...Also Also, I always though that the Angel was Prickett, how weird..
Anon Prickett most likely didn't even exist back then
>she's obsessed with this "wonderland just for you"
The entire creation and recreation of Wonderland in the first place was because of her obsession with Lewis, it tracks to me at least.
Not as we know them in BS1/2, but they certainly still existed as part of TCO.
>Last spoiler
TCO of course existed, but Prickett's consciousness, so to say, 100% formed during the endless tea party with Lewis/Grimm and the black rabbit in Wonderland when TCO wanted to understand love better. So technically speaking, no, Prickett didn't exist back then
TCO's a hivemind, her consciousness still existed back then. What the tea party did for her was teach her human love, not create an entirely new consciousness.
No one is really sure, it's kind of a debate in the community over it. I'm from the school of "this is Grimm", but I aknowledge it could be Lewis too. Both have their own pro and con, that I think it would be better for EMMM to not touch it anymore.
That's some great intepretation my homies.
Miranda?!
Axe not long and slender enough.
I like the boss fight theme, very peppy. Also damn, high spd + dragon shockwave is op as shit
FLAT CHESTS WOOOOOOOOOOOOO
>SPD -100
Time to grind rats again
How do I beat this absolute frick? Any tips?
I don't remember how I cheesed the fight but I do remember this was the hardest in the game
You can easily cheese this boss with Grit + Regen Ring
Little Sister Alice is unquestionably the best choice.
Trap Alice best Alice.
rope
now
have a nice day, Hans.
I think... I think we'll be fine Grimmbros...
As long as we don't add fuel to the fire, it should die down and everything will MOSTLY be back to how it is right now
Nameless Forest. It's actually the first item you can see when entering the place, along the top with an entrance to the left. Try going roughly northwest from the bonfire, I think that'll lead you there.
...something tells me I've gone in the wrong direction all this time.
Did another person just completely ignore the path north?
Suddenly having
>endure + two white sticky cotton + soul discharge + power within + dark side moon
Really trivializes a LOT of shit, huh.
The game never tells you to go explicity north, it tells you to go search for leaf and then you go back to the start. I thought the behemont ranch was the starting area due to the low level enemies there but alas.
>cotton
oh no no no
>The game never tells you to go explicity north, it tells you to go search for leaf and then you go back to the start.
It does if you bother talking to more than one NPC. Crestfallen Hero tells you that the first thing you should do is go north and meet with Dorothy.
Yeah, this run is fricked, wonder which ending will I get.
I talked to him several times after talking to leaf and he always said the same thing: Nothing about dorothy.
>after talking to leaf
He said pic related both before and after talking to her for me on a new game. I know his dialogue changes at some point, but I'm pretty sure it's not that soon.
... there was something there, right? I'm not losing my marbles this early, right?
I guess I'm blind then.
>something
Cute.
Yes. On both counts.
thanks for this post, I knew I wasn't imagining it, you just talk to the npcs like at firelink in actual dark souls and they tell you the ehem "canon route" (optional)
i'd ask what the equivalent of going to the skeletons straight away is but I think its about time I play the game again myself and just figure it out
>he picked up the bread crumbs
And yes, north is clearly intended as the 'main path'.
I don't get how people do this, I went there without a guide just from npc dialogue, but the streamer I watched went east straight away (not a bad idea since bloodbite ring is good and you can speed grind with drake sword/patience )
Alpaca appeared!
I don't recall where you encounter him.
Bros, seriously, what does she see in him? T_T
Poro is handsome
just look at how much he's changed from Red's game
He can even talk!
for bs2 what does the Lindamea instant kill do, how do i avoid it, the horse hits hard too
I don't remember much from that fight, chaos dungeon spells made quick work of him but If it really is an insta-kill then wear ressurectionist's ring. Then only other advice I remember is don't touch his balls.
Can someone please post that art of Dorothy and Grimm posing together, I saw it in either the KOV or QOV threads but I didn't save it.
This?
Was there a way to save snow white while at the same time save the other princess? She was kinda crazy and not in a good way.
Nope
Assuming same person, you killed the dude outside.
I don't think you get sins from the princesses.
Oh, I wasn't supposed to kill him? Alas.
nyo
>Oh, I wasn't supposed to kill him? Alas.
Nta but yeah, it's kind of weird.
>pic
Why is there missing icons?
Dorothy...
I'll take both of these for some reason I thought there was more unofficial art of them but this works.
WHAT THE FRICK DID I DO WRONG?!?!?
Did you rape or kill anyone?
From your previous post, I assume you killed Snow White
You can have a few sins, don't worry
I think doing something in Rottenburg gives you sin, maybe killing some non agrresive monster or stealing from a chest or something like that. I also remember being surprised where the hell I got that one sin from.
You can remove your sins. Talk to the dude in the location where you first met Leaf.
Yoiu probably killed the prince in the Snow White castle balcony, that increases Sin even if he attacks you.
>1
Lmao. I had over 2000 in my first playthrough.
!
Whats the irl fairytale behind the cats in armor? I can't find anything with "knight in armor"
Japs don't know what it references either, other than the Tower Knight from Demon's souls.
I searched the archive a little and apparently people think that the Knight in Armour is the fairy tale Puss in Boots. Apparently there's mention of finding boots useless and instead opting for armour in the chaos dungeon but I have no memory of this.
It's not Puss in Boots, as evidenced by some proof in the Chaos Dungeon. But it does seem like a bit of an obscure fairytale if it can't be identified.
What's the evidence from the chaos dungeon? I never paid much attention to this fairy tale when playing but I'm curious now.
The evidence is actually fighting Puss in Boots as a boss there.
Oh yeah that did happen.
It reminds me of that boss in Hollow Knight that was really just a weak trashmob, but was wearing the armor of a knight.
Did anyone wrote the bio for pic related?
scarypasta character that rapes the female in Sonic and the Black Knight if your scores are low enough.
I forgot to
Oh hello cutie
How many fairy tales have you collected so far?
iirc
>three pigs
>pied piper
>Hans
>alladin
>snow white
>H&G
>jack
>sinbad
>donkey king
All in all aside from the princess books I'm missing like 10 or so
Good luck on collecting them all, anon!
Who is best, who is worst?
Rapunzel and Snow White are the best. Frog is the worst
Is there any reward for collecting all Fairy Tales in BS2? I think after two runs I know where most of them are now, although I never found Ugly Duckling and Wizard of Oz
I'll need to do another thorough run to get covenants again and probably collect everything that could help me in DLC 3, I'm kinda tired after binging the game for days, but I want to see it all now
You have a choice of either a fairly strong ring or a sexy outfit for Node
Nothing very important
The last option is very important.
I did actually remember/find Ugly Duckling (didn't do the bridge boss in my second run lol)
Would still appreciate a hint for Wizard of Oz
It's in the Nursing Ward at positive sen
Just keep wandering around
Sorry mean the Mental Ward
Got it thanks, I found the destroyed room even, but at low SEN
Knight anon from the King Ganker threads here. Just finished Ending A. Was totally worth it to see the girls happy.
Now, should I try to complete one of the other endings or should I hop into Black Souls 2? I already found Baphomet and got all the fairy tales (except Iron Hans, screw that guy.)
You really should complete the fairy tales.
After you finish it you should continue with baphomet, since her ending links with BS2
>Just finished Ending A. Was totally worth it to see the girls happy.
LMAO
Level girls you like to 100 and beat Cinderella again, you get epilogue scenes specific to that character that are pretty neat
Get all the fairy tales and turn them in for the actual ending to the game
Do all of Baphomet's shit for the sequel hook to 2
All my girls are over Level 100 already. They've got all the ultimate skills too.
Just beat Iron Hans with my level 231 knight and a very tanky Jeanne. (Jeanne's probably my favorite girl)
>The new fairy tale is labeled "Kill" and asks for the stories where most of the girls are from, including Jeanne
........Maybe I'll try Baphomet instead.
anon you REALY should fill the library before doing the Baphomet stuff
just make a save before killing anyone
Bring the tale to its end anon
also do you have leaf's ring? if not you should get it and do the girls ending again
I got it, equipped it, and went through the fog again. Nothing changed.
Fiiiiiiiine. I did it. You all have no idea how much it hurt to kill all the girls (except Elisabeth, she was annoying to fight). I even got the Moonlight Greatsword and the Knight's Sword leveled up to 10 to help.
I filled the library, pulled the lever, and WTF VICTORIA HAD WINGS THIS WHOLE TIME?
Leaf better not be dead. She's my second favorite
>first spoiler
We do Anon, you are in good and sad company.
>except Elisabeth
GRBLGRBLLLLLLLL!!
>second spoiler
>he doesn't know
>2nd spoiler
Did you do the endings for each girl?
The game is now asking me for Mary Sue to reveal herself. What should I put in for the text?
No. But I'll do that once I get this Ending done.
you already know the answer
Oh god. It's HER, isn't it? I'll put her name in and see what happens.
What? Come on now anon, are you seriously doubting her? Now? She's been with you since the very start, helping you
Now that I think about it, I don't know what happens when you put a wrong input
You get killed without seeing who it is, but I forget if it's a full blown game over or you respawn.
If you don't know yet, unironically, and I am not kidding, even if this sounds kinda boring Go back, do each girl ending first. Endings are labeled A,B,C and D for a reason, the girls endings are ending B
(me)
Well, technically speaking the very last part isn't true, technically, but anyways, do the girls endings first, you'll most likely piece everything together by then
Oh no he's actually moronic
She's Canadian
Do Leaf's Cinderella ending again real quick
No no no no, just come back to Cinderella after killing her.
>spoiler
Oh Anon, you sweet summer child.
You better have H scenes on.
Anon, as someone that did exactly that, PLEASE, as much as it may hurt, fill the library first
>Jeanne's probably my favorite girl
we got another one jeannbros
Jeanne CHADS keep winning
You know what you have to do.
If you don't have it on your party go visit Red Hood.
Whack.
>Level 231 and a tanky knight
All you needed was the grit ring and any mean of self-heal but whatever.
Nice zone with not lore behind it at all.
>romantic comedies
Nta, but maybe I was closer to what I thought when I said it was a romantic play between Grimm and Prickett.
No cost too great.
It was too great for him.
What happens if you trow a genuine girl to the sea b***h? Does she dies?
Try it. You can always load your save.
I still find it hilarious that the entirety of the series happens because space gods beyond comprehension couldn't handle the dick
It's theorized it was more like
>TCO/Prickett: "Where is Grimm?"
>TCO:ARgnrbrgferrgbrebegsgqghnhtrnhntrbgsbrbrtbsbgrrsbgsbgrgrbgsbgfbgfbgbfqbbbqbgbbgbgqqgbgqbqbbqbbqbbqbqbbgbgbqbq
>I'm going to Grimm
TL;DR
BS1: eldritch abomination writes DA tier fanfiction, only with real-world consequences
BS2: you click on a thread, your soul is now trapped in an eldritch abomination ERP thread
On one hand it seems like a double standard to consider Red banging Poro nasty when the player character does the same thing just with more human shaped animals, but on the other hand it is totally nasty
Red and Poro are stinky and don't shower
Miranda too but I like her for that
Finished Ending C. That final boss fight was easier than I thought it would be with Soul Discharge + Evade
I'll do the girl endings before going to Baphomet
I'll said it again, but hilariously, this make sense in lore, despite the balance of the game being banana.
Neither do I.
So, knightanon, what do you think about our lovely Mary Sue?
She had me fooled alot, but the only thing that really tipped me off about her was the calmness over the world being destroyed and the fact that she knew about the Boy and Dog of Elixir's story. The Dog of Elixir had such a good boss theme too, a shame I haven't heard it anywhere else in the game
Don't really want to kill the Prayer Master, but if I could beat Mary Sue with a few techniques and Rapunzel's ring I have nothing to fear.
now that anon has finished the game
>reload the game to see the endings again
>
I do NOT remember this

Okay seriously, where is the Alice Translator.
Not helping.
I actually did, get to translating little homie.
https://files.catbox.moe/ev3rrv.png
ok here's the translator
https://pastebin.com/P0a6fSgU
That's not a translator.
wdym anon? You can translate everything with that.
Gimme an automatic translator.
I don't know how to tell you, but that's how we make all those posts, we just translate it all letter by letter
but in all seriousness, I don't want more people to get the translator because it's getting old. There's little reason in doing it other than a quick punchline
I mean, that's fair... I guess. But I just want to understand things, not spend years translating one phrase that may be important or shitpost. I already have the brain of a red fish with cancer...
https://zasz.su/bs/translator.html
Frick yeah, thanks. I promise to not abuse it.
As in, I'll only use it to translate things for myself and give the link sparingly if ever.
I'll be good with you anon, here you go the link is somewhere in this thread, in one of the latest messages. Get the translator and translate posts, earn your privilege like we did before you
Yes, it is dodo.
I, for one, Love and forgive Leaf!
another one for the coal mine
How could you hate your own creator?
So, how do I know which ending did I get? Also I'm not sure what to do next. Jeanne is still fricking dead and collecting the books will only go so far.
>How do I know which ending did I get?
???
It's right there anon, in the screenshot you sent, what do you mean? What are you asking?
A what?
Dunno, I've heard that it has 4 endings, with C being the canon one, and if dorothy got one I could guess that the other girls had one too but I fricked up and let jeanne and the chicken die so I don't know how to unfrick myself.
>I've heard that it has 4 endings
Oh, yeah kinda, but there are more. There's A,B,C and D endings, and then the "character endings", like the one you just got with Dorothy
>With C being the canon one
You'll understand in the future, but that's not entirely true. You need to get every ending (in more or less order) to understand and be ready for BS2 anyways
>I don't know how to unfrick myself
2 Options, either reload a previous save or go to the forest at the start of the game, you should see some kind of crystal near that wasn't there before. If you touch it you'll go to NG+ and you'll be able to get the endings you want there (NG+ will be really fast because you know a lot more about the game now, and you're also OP compared to the start of the game because you keep weapons and levels etc)
So I can save everyone? Hurrah! I really wanted to marry the chicken.
Yes. In theory you could save literally every single heroine in the same run. I guess this is the case, but you did the get "basic tips" every anon gives to newcomers starting BS1, right? the "you can run with shift" and all that
Yeah but I'm a moron, be patient.
Nah don't worry anon, best of luck, we'll be here if you need help. The first time is always the one you remember the most
Also I did touch the crystal, and it did sent me back, but to the point where I've already met leaf. Is jeanne still fricking dead?
There is a way to meet her later, I'd say, now that you're a bit more experienced and saw a bit of the world, have good weapons and level, etc. Explore everywhere, take your time, you'll most likely find people you haven't met yet based on your comments

>He's important? Other than being implied to be Mordred/Arthur?
I was talking more specifically about the loredump that happens after beating them, but yeah they're important, especially if we assume the Jack in the Box in Queensland is talking about the same event at 0 SEN.
You were here
, get working zoomerbro. People are probably taking extra care right now to make sure newbies aren't seeing shit they're not supposed to yet. Also because it's a good way to not flood the thread with off-topic shit that everyone has to see, like earlier in the thread.
Ah so you meant the Maymay loredumb after beating it Is there something other to understand than what they said?
>Jack in the Box in Queensland is talking about the same event at 0 SEN.
Funnily enough, I missed it multiple times because he was like a fricking chameleon in the area. I was laughing at myself. I though he was talking about the Red Queen? Unless the Old King has gone Fate, but better because this isn't Fate.
> Is there something other to understand than what they said?
It was mostly just an example of how EMMM seems to do his foreshadowing and loredumps. Major events like that tend to get much more involved shit, while just playing through the game normally will usually get you more subtle shit.
>I though he was talking about the Red Queen? Unless the Old King has gone Fate, but better because this isn't Fate.
If Uther's the Old King, Arthur's probably the first Red Queen. Next line after this is
>YOU killed
in red text, by the way, so there's a knight responsible for the deaths of Uther and Arthur, and Uther in particular is said to be a rematch against us. So yeah, we're a bit like Fate now. The most relevant thing from all this to the core events of the game is Prickett stating that she's the second generation Red Queen, and saying that tyranny is a lazy and arrogant way to rule.
I'll replay the game while naming my character Daoloth.
>spoiler
Yeah, this is straightforward. Though I honestly doubt that Lewis, (or any writers in Grimm) could have defeated, let alone killed it. But it's weird, because they are mentioning a traitorous knight, only Mordred would fit the bill, not Arthur.
You know, I once thought that each stats actually represented an Author in Grimm.
>So yeah, we're a bit like Fate now
Jeanne's Ultimate in the games are also a reference to Fate, except better, because this isn't Fate.
>and saying that tyranny is a lazy and arrogant way to rule
I'd say that it's arrogant, but lazy? If you are strong enough probably but if you are a mortal...
>my difficulty was on 9
>For some reason
Ah, to be young again...
Wouldn't the traitorous knight be Lancelot?
Actually, both fit the bill! Good catch.
It starts getting more haunting once you look up who the Black Knight and Green Knight were in Arthurian lore.
But who would be Lancelot?
How much of Lindamea's past do we actually know?
Survivor of the undead purge, or so he says. Odds are that was a role created for BS1.
Survivor of the undead purge, probably someone that was made a guy too strong because Leaf is a fricking moron. It's probably just a "role".
On the other hand, Baphomet recruited him, so who can say?
An author can't be a knight. Not can a knight be another knight.... i think.
>An author can't be a knight.
Lewis took on the role of the White Knight in Alice in Wonderland, didn't he? At the very least he's shown as a knight when he and Alice walk away in G.
I would take the knight model with a grain of salt. All the souls in Grimm were depicted with that model in the hotel scene It's also possible that it wqs just Grimm
Also, from the wiki of Lancelot since it's been nearly a decade since I read King Arthur or the old German poem about him:
> As Elaine tends to her dying husband, Lancelot is carried off by a fairy enchantress known as the Lady of the Lake...Diverging on Lancelot's personality, the narration then adds the first mention of his mental instability (which was not explicitly stated in Chrétien's version, although Chrétien's Lancelot is notably relentless on his quest to rescue Guinevere, leaping into danger without thinking and ignoring wounds and pain), in particular proneness to berserk-like combat frenzy
Sounds familiar
>All the souls in Grimm were depicted with that model in the hotel scene
Technically, the hotel's sprite are the PC's sprites, while Lewis' sprite is generic knight chara sprite.
>spoiler
Oh.
God.
EMMM YOU MAD GENIUS. HOW FAR YOUR POWER WILL GO?!
I'm pretty sure Lancelot's moniker early on in the story was the "knight of white." As well.
Where is the Howaito Naito?
The white knight is a character in Alice in Wonderland who saves Alice at one point. He serves the white king/queen if I remember correctly. The closest characters to this would be Grimm or Lewis
I know that, Anon, I was being rhetorical, because the white knight could be lancelot or lewis, the green knight could be green, the black knight Lind or Lancelot, everything is possible.
If the madonna in a box is to be believed, Grimm or one of the authors
Her words, not mine. Though since Prickett's the second generation Red Queen, and if Arthur was probably the first Red Queen and Uther was the Old King, wouldn't that actually make Prickett Mordred here in this situation?
I mean, it would imply that Prickett come from Arthur's ballsgina... kek
Oh.
Oh.
Oooooooooooooooh.
Though I don't know who the frick is Bredbeddle.
The perfect picture of someone being right for the wrong reason while knowing it. Fricking b***h.
Grimm's design in the second game should imply who the Green Knight may be.
Just the second game?
To be fair, less of his design seems green in the first game from what I remember.
Wha-really?
>Though I honestly doubt that Lewis, (or any writers in Grimm) could have defeated, let alone killed it.
I still think Lorde asks what you are and if you're really just an author during his fight for a reason.
Obviously, you (Grimm), isn't an author, you are made from authors but aren't one yourself, you are supposed to be some sort of perfect, invincible, tragic protagonist. You may become a Creator and get away from that though if Mabel is to be believed. And the "Lord Creator" title from Ending C from the first game.
Yeah, it's often believe that Dodo is Lewis' avatar in his book, but in truth, the real avatar is The White Knight, which despite his name, is rather bumbling and silly.
When in the game he "get out" from you, he take the shape of a knight, I believe it's a reference, but I still don't see him beating anyone, let along legendary monsters.
Anon who was filtered by Nurse Call here
For some reason my difficulty was on 9, so that probably had something to do with it, after changing it back to 1 and getting Margarets Covenant back it went down first try...
See
That explains a lot...

They said.
Nobody said you couldn't spend longer on it if you wanted to.
No I mean that the timeframe made it seem like something really straightfoward
It's not too complicated I'd say, certainly nowhere near BS2's complexity at least. You're given a core goal to first reach, told how to reach it, and the other goals are pretty signposted.
30-40 is more the average fot BS2. Lorehomosexualry has no hour estimate, unfortunately.
>Chicken
Anon, that's fricking racist. Shame on you.
and BS2 is just 20 hours :^)
Well, that is, if you don't read the readme on how to reach the true ending...
Hey now, I still figured it out on my own too. Ended up around 40 hours by the end of DLC 3.

Is this the source of all those ALICE posts?
Now you just need to find her!
Milf Alice is the best.
What are the conditions for the Alice scene in the Spore Forest?
No progress!
Progress level 0. You have the leave the Crash Chamber through through the mouse hole.
Is SEN something I need to worry about like sin or is it completely different?
Different. Play as you will with it, don't worry about it. Explore. Fight. Search. Overcome. Overcum. Use brain.
>Is SEN something I need to worry about like sin or is it completely different?
You won't have Lindamea chasing you everywhere YOU FRICKING SINNER, if that's what you're worrying about
I got confused since ransacking a corpse influenced it, and I'd expect killing to make it higher rather than lower.
>Lindamea chasing you
>Grimm: But I'm still stronger than you!
>I got confused since ransacking a corpse influenced it
Curious.
Keep it high on your first playthrough then do the opposite on the next or third.
You dont have to worry about it too much, as there are plenty of ways to alter it and tons of consumables that + - it that you come across a plenty. But.
If you dont mind the slightest of spoiler to save headaches when it comes to combat in general later then open.
I would highly suggest keeping the SEN 100+ on your first exploration, as there are some very integral spells literally just fricking lying on the ground at 100+ SEN that, if you dont acquire, could be the difference between you thinking "well I guess I dont have enough stats for this boss why is it so annoying guess I gotta grind more" and "this one or two spell/skill combo is how I beat x y z boss without eating a soul". If you dont comb over areas properly at 100+SEN, if you hold off on that then you might just end up thinking "theres just trash items here, I dont gotta pick em up" when actually theres a anticrit/stun/sure spell etc that can make life or death differences on some fights hidden between all the random +1 red soul + 1 vial etc.
Wow I never would have expected that. I'm speechless.
Its one of my only gripes with BS2. Since I and many others autistically search things most end up getting it all down the line.. but I have seen a few people who got near the end of the game 30hours in, hit a wall & end up pulling hair, resorting to cheatengine/giving up, get mocked for being moronic, only to find out they literally never picked up Dispel or some similar saving grace spell because some moronic random ass thing at 100+ had the dispel spell they could have gotten at hour 3.
Do I lose anything by killing her?
Your meds. Literally.
I don't believe that anything without a character portrait has consequences for killing
I need help with being unbricked. So right after I unlocked Atlantica, my game bugged in a way that I overlooked, causing every item pickup to be "registered" but not in my inventory, rendering it destroyed. I soon realized this and luckily had a save not too far back. HOWEVER, the bug somehow despawned Sinbad at hotel posidon. Now I don't know how to complete the library. Is it possible to save edit Sinbad's book into my inventory so I don't brick myself?
That is the first time I've ever heard of something like that happening. I'd say to cycle if you can, might unfrick shit.
How do I cycle? As in going through my saves? I can't since they were long overwritten.
Once you reach any ending except D, a crystal appears north of the holy forest. You can use it to start a NG+.
does this mean I have to kill everyone for their books again?
Yes, but with the gear and levels you already have it shouldn't take you long to go back to the point where you are now.
Alright, thanks for the help.
Progress the game then come back later. Sindbad may be one of those bosses than only appear after a certain point. If that doesn't work simply going NG+ would be less tedious than trying to mod the game
Are all the nightmare spirits inspired by actual criminals? Only noticed after getting the mein kampf ring that hindley and brady were real.
Yes
>the mein kampf ring
the what
You would have gotten the best H scene in the game if she was alive.
Wait, which spirit dropped that ring again?
Should I have fricked her?
You should have out her in the safest possible place the dungeon
It wouldn't change anything.
b***h shouldn't have been a prostitute to begin with, not my problem
Oh boy, if only you knew.
I don't remember that.
CHICKEN ENDING FRICK YEAH. Also I discovered how to bring back jannu by myself, god I am so smart.

No you just beat his ass until the undying buff falls off
>all these playthroughs at once
can't wait for our newfrens to see BS2 if they seem to like BS1 this much
Can't wait either.
So stats apparently do something... the final DLC boss went down pretty quickly after I raised my stats from 15~k to 30~k, would still sometimes get completely blown up from 100k HP to 0 though
I think I liked the early/midgame more than the endgame because all the bonus turns, status conditions etc. you're probably stacking and boss mechanics make it really tough to keep track of everything due to RPG maker being kinda limited
I respect these games for fully following the creators vision, even though I don't like everything about it
Still better than MGQ and sequel.
tbh I liked MGQ more, but I prefer party customization with different characters to this kind of gameplay where your one MC eventually becomes a master of all
Please, tell me you prefer Paradox, NOT MGQ or else you will be lower than Mabel when losing against Dodo in a game of chess.
>Party customization
Of course he's talking about Paradox
I'm poking fun at the fact that he said "I liked MGQ".
Did you use requiem some? I haven't bothered much but I've heard it is really good to use for that reason.
Most of the times I tried it, I died anyway because the enemy dispelled or CCed me in some way so it ran out, getting Wall of Flesh and having enough extra turns to throw in dodge/guard did more for my survivabiliy

I wonder if Miranda is related to Blackwell somehow. They look quite a bit alike. It's weird how Blackwell seemed to be just a normal person but still had solid black eyes like a ghoul or something.
So I've been trying to piece together the events of the series after having done ending H.My understanding of the timeline is this. The OG tea party happens between Alice(Prickett), grimm or Lewis(still not sure) and the PM>PM gets jealous, prays and gives leaf the ability to come and kidnap us and take most of wonderland to put in her garden>BS1>Ending C happens and through the book grimm learns who he is>Ending D happens, grimm breaks the cycle and this gives TCO a window of opportunity so to call it to invade leafs garden(After observing us for the whole game like a stalker) and kidnaps us (Cause she sucked Alice's lidells soul and is now obsessed with Lewis) and bring us to her garden>BS2.Thats about all I have managed to piece together as of now,ill keep replaying the game and reading everything but I first want to have some kind of foundation to stand on.So rip me to shreds anons.
>(Cause she sucked Alice's lidells soul and is now obsessed with Lewis)
Nah, TCO has only ever been LARPing as Alice. There's no soul sucking or other frickery like that involved here that's responsible for giving TCO their obsession, their obsession with Lewis in particular is due to the events of the tea party since they fell in love with him then. Alice's soul is in the white prison in G though, post-TCO. Everything else is more or less the way I understand it.
Oh so, in the ball of flame where TCO came and took her soul she didn't actually consume it she just put it in the white prison. Then because prickett is a part of her,she was able to feel pricketts love for Lewis or grimm and vice versa and so because these gods are autistic and can't handle emotion, she went mad and is now as you said Larping as Alice?
>grimm or Lewis
This is still a point of contention in the community. /vrpg/ thinks it's Lewis, the Jap wiki thinks it's Grimm. Though I have no idea how the timeline would make sense if it were Grimm.
>sucked Alice's lidells soul
That is probably the first chronological event in the series. TCO steals Lewis and Alice, sets up a tea party, leaves a fragment of itself (who'll later become Prickett) and falls in love. You seem to treat Prickett and TCO as separate entities, when Prickett is in fact a fragment of TCO - just like Lewis is a fragment of Grimm.
Also, what is your take on Mabel and the upcoming Black personman war?
>Duplicate file exists
Should've fricking known
Based Japs.
>Though I have no idea how the timeline would make sense
Nta but it doesn't help that Black personmen seems to play with time like a bawd in a hentai.
As far as I know not that many Black personmen are actually able to toy with time. Mabel can and to an extent TCO I think can too, and that's more or less about it
Leaf could because of GG, same with TCO. (And maybe us one day by association) Mabel can because, well, she's motherfricking Yogu, who is, in simple term, the Black personman or time.
Oh yeah sorry my bad, I meant to say GG instead of TCO, dunno why I got them mixed up. But yeah, as far as I remember those two are the only Black personmen (well, if we're really really technical here GG isn't really a Black personman but whatever) able to frick up with time
Technically, GG is an artificial Black personman created by extracting the specific powers from Leaf/Mary Sue, said powers were later used by TCO to turn back time and, maybe, it's a theory, putting the whole SEN system. (GG seems to be inspired by Daoloth). All of that before GG obtained an ego, said frick this shit, Grimm, pls, grab me, those people are shit.
Imagine how shit you must be of a person for your own power to not want anything to do with you.
That's our Mary, she's just such a lovable person 😀
I'm sorry but that was horrible wording in my part.Let me rephrase.
I beleive prickett split from TCO and went to the OG tea party with grimm or Lewis and the PM.Since prickett is a fragment of TCO they share senses and can(to some degree) affect each other.Through prickett TCO experienced love and then she went mad etc etc.
Now as for the war,Ive understood it only at a surface level. My understanding of it is just that the gods are moronic and instead of playing nice they wage war on each other and that brings about the risk of waking up azathoth and deleting reality as we know it.Mabel proposed to us to be the one to stop these morons. For now at least that's all I know about it.I would love for grimm to finally be able to fend for himself and not be a victim to the whims of a god but alas we can only wait and see.
Why's Mary got such an overpowered as shit ability anyways?
Power to change seems so much more broken than what the other Black personmans can do
Hell if I know. Metaphor?
More importantly, despite having the writing skills of a plagiaristic teenager hack, she possess the ability to Create, she made Grimm, a perfectly stable being until TCO decided to frick his brain, that is considered the best thing since sliced bread by the other Black personman, to the point BS2 is literally an orgy.
Somehow, this include time travel, memory manipulation, human creation and perception control.
Of course, we have Mabel, who is Yogu, and her time things, and TCO, who is stated to still be the most powerful being in existence despite nerfing herself by larping as Alice, but they are more "brute force" than actual skill. (and brute force, because Leaf is talented as a creator, but not much else)
And Leaf got that power, just because she was neglected by her mom, and a motherfricking dragon told her about fairy tales.
To be exact it's the "ability to change" not create.
She explicitly does not have the ability to create, only to change. She's fricking bad at it too, with most of her toys having dissociative breakdowns and accidentally turning someone into her biggest love rival who's one of the biggest wrenches in the Black personman system
Any tips for this joocy frick?
Who da hell is he?
Nightmare Spirit in Red Castle Frissel, I believe. I don't recall him being too hard though.
I don't remember him at all. Weird.
Himbo energy
Have been going through a few cycles in BS2 now and I have have been wondering.Does lower SEN actually mean that Grimm is less insane?
Just keep playing, you'll figure out what it's for eventually.
Get ending B (get all covenants) and F/G (full 0 SEN run, go through Lutwidge Town first, look for secrets, listen to the snowmen)
oh so I was supposed to do this with them
Exchange for weapons and armor
boss weapons, right down the road...
this is a dark souls 2 joke, not everyone will understand.
Can't miss it
EMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM WHERE IS IT YOU WHOOOOOOOOOOOOOORRRRRRRRRRREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
400 trillion new CGs
400 trillion new Poro sex scenes.
Because of that stuff being back on the menu I kind of don't want to pick up DRH
Just skip it if it bothers you that much, you pansy. Better hope EMMM doesn't loredump in them like he did in BS2 though.
Considering that she was in more games than Grimm I'm dead sure there will be important lore and probably a set up for BS3. I don't like the porn stuff in the series but playing with h stuff turned off is not a option as those scenes can be very crucial (ending C for the first one feels very different without it)
Two more weeksu... Me promisu.....
How did the theory of "TCO falls down to the earth, followed by a ghoul" got to be? Ive figured out that there was a (now immortal thanks to the star fluid) god hunter that washed ashore the nursery but im still very confused about that theory.Any help anons?
Nice spoilers, dodo. Read pic related here
Before the thread dies can I just ask what's happening in my game? I'm following this guide
but he seems to be able to find fairy tales in it. Like the Little Match Girl and finding Dorothy's house alive and well. Meanwhile I can't find the fairy tale of the girl in Lutwig Town and when I got to Dorothy's place, it was already in ruins. No Dorothy inside.
Am I doing something wrong? Does my sen have to be lower? Am I playing a completely different version of the game? Are the fairy tales important just like BS1? What do I do?
You probably fricked up with SEN in some places.
>Does my sen have to be lower?
In some places lower in others higher.
Got it. Also, I missed Red Hood on my playthrough after defeating the bunny. Can I go back and get her if I lower my sen enough?
No. If you missed her at the start it's over.
Frick. I guess there's no New Game + like BS1 either? Also I missed the Twins. Are they locked out from the covenant too?
>I guess there's no New Game + like BS1 either?
Anon, did you beat the game?
There is a NG+ after you get an ending
There is, frick around until something changes in the dream library then there'll be a ng+ crystal
First, stop using guides. All of them, including this one, take a way too efficient path for natural progression through the game. There hasnt been a single good guide for new players, and there never will be. You'll probably miss over half of the game's content. Imagine following a multi-hour long guide just to miss all the content and spoil yourself in the process. Just ask for help in the thread.
To answer your question, It is SEN related.
Your Sen needs to be different. I don't know the Match Girl sen requirement, but the one for Dorothy needs to be 100 Sen

A-Anon?
Uh, I think you're a bit lost, anon.
Hey I did that in my first game too
Make sure to go to the spore forest for a surprise
Go back to the Crash Chamber, anon. The first boss is the Headhunting Beast.
You didn't happen to go the wrong fricking way did you anon?
Now I'm really confused. I went through the red door with a master key from Cheshire and it's been 1 straight path from there to Fuming Forest. I've tried dying, but I can't open the door. There's one other path and I need a rabbit key to take it.
just a little bit of ER
If you had picked another item, you would have to ignore that door and faced the first boss right after
>I've tried dying, but I can't open the door.
You are should to talk to the rabbit in the dream to level up
Supposedly it doesn't appear until I've beaten him.
My problem is break just doesn't work on him most of the time, so I die in 2 hits.
you should use break when he is preparing an attack
Fix your mistake and play at least Dark Souls 1 (and Bloodborne if you have a PS4). It's a legendary game that completely changed the gaming landscape.
Second of all, go back to the red door and move left instead of through it.
BG3 is very freeform. I remember completely ignoring the main quest and just fricking around in the underdark. Also Underrail, I loved just wandering in some random ass caves getting fricked in the ass by roof Black folk because I'm a CONlet.
Should I play Demon's Souls first?
>move left
I have absolutely no idea how I missed that path.
thought you were talking about this guy. I don't think I'll have a problem if the enemies are balanced to level 1.
That guy will be easy later, I don't remember having trouble with him
And anons are praising BS2 for not being linear, but I think it's too non-linear. I got a convenant with Bandersnatch before getting progress
Adding to this, I think the Duchess was the first fight I couldn't cheese, and even then, I could have just given her meat instead of fighting
You can probably beat Black Souls 2 without fighting
>but I think it's too non-linear.
Yikes bro.
Different strokes for different folks. I just hope that he at least appreciates how the nonlinearity ties into the narrative, since that's an objective quality, not a subjective one.
Fuming Forest is not where you should be
Anon, have you never played any souls games in your life?
I'm glad newfriends have proved that Dodos haven't gone extinct.
Everyone is always harping on about lore and feels, but honestly nonlinearity is a very underappreciated aspect of the series. I can't think of a single jarpig with this level of sheer freedom to do whatever the hell you want.
Sinneranon's playthrough was very entertaining to watch.
>I can't think of a single jarpig with this level of sheer freedom to do whatever the hell you want.
Neither do I. The closest thing I can think of would be NPC Dreams... but I never played it since there's not translation.
It is pretty heavily based on Souls, and DaS2 has a TON of early game freedom. The only new-ish game I can think of that lets you just wonder where ever to this extent is Lords of the Fallen.
I dont think it's underrated at all, there's just more to talk about lorewise.
Black Souls is one of the few games that actually feel like a true souls-like game. And is definitely the only one that has been done well in RPGmaker which is even more impressive. The non-linear exploration aspect and getting pieces of lore through items or environmental story telling is on full display here. Although it imitates souls, this design actually has a different purpose in my opinion. Miyazaki openly admits to designing for gameplay and level design first and foremost with pieces of story intentionally removed. He weaves in environmental story telling for the player to explore and guess as to what happened.
For Black Souls, it's almost the opposite. Toro focuses more on delivering a level design and gameplay that creates a good atmosphere to tell a story first and foremost. Everything in BS1 is setup as a traditional adventure with small pieces of evidence of something being amiss. Which leads to a twist tragic end for Grimm The world, while hostile, is meant to be a sort of playground and has a certain level of comfiness for the Grimm and the player. BS2 is the exact opposite. Instead of dropping you in the bright and colorful holy forest after the tutorial, you get dropped into the rabbit hole. Bodies are everywhere, far darker contrast blood, powerful enemies etc. The world was literally made to trick and confuse you, to ensure that you would get lost along the way to your goal or keep searching endlessly. The SEN mechanic doubles down on this adding another layer of mystery. If the first game was an adventure book, the second game is a horror mystery book.
Nobeta is my only Souls-like game
You use break when he is like this
Anons that played their first game properly didn't get the true BLACKSOULS expperience
Yeah, going full moron and wandering who knows where just to get assfricked by a boss was really fun. No handholding from the dev whatsoever. It's also why I appreciate Hollow Knight so much, which also has the quality of being able to get completely lost and not being able to teleport at will to get out of a sticky situation.
If I didn't frick up Elisabeth's questline I would've gotten ending A on my first run.
definitely easy. Now does it still matter in terms of balance where I go or can I do whatever?
From here just go forward then you can pretty much go any path from there until something blasts your ass, if that happens it's likely you're going the wrong way
Do whatever! What you wany It's a Wonderland Just For You!
The first game is easy to frick up, but it's also easy to not frick up.
Going north from where you are is the 'intended' way. Whether you want to actually follow it is up to you.
So that was the intended wqay huh
This thread feels like the last time the BS fanbase can be still described as good.
why
vtumor shit + overall feeling like BS has been creeping up to the normalgaydom for some time now
Eh, people are still massive Dodos about things, so I'd say we are still safe.
It's a fricking nothingburger, anon. Stop being such a pessimist.
