Expanding out from the theming of awkward teenage years, the idea bubble for Xenoblade 2 also includes general stuff like just... lacking knowledge in general (the Blade memory reset) or some people knowing things but not others and how that affects one's conclusions, or that different people have different mindsets and react differently (the same event can spur two different people onto two different life paths), and so on.
The awkwardness in Xenoblade 2 happens too many times to be coincidence, especially when characters explicitly react TO that awkwardness.

I've been fricking around with portraits for ages and I never adjusted the lights at all. Give me a QRD on what makes for some nice natural lighting and I'll use it.
Turn the upper light (general lighting) all the way down, then adjust the lower one's angle until nice looking shadows show up. Then turn the upper one back to the level you want.
(that is an old portrait, I've since turned the brightness up a little)
All that matters is choosing good poses and colors. Here are mine, they're not perfect but I received a lot of compliments for some of them.
I feel I kind of missed the point of portraits since I ended up having most of mine be full body
I would have preferred full body shots but you can barely tell what's going on when they're shown in a duty, so I opted for close-ups.
As long as they're not too busy they're fine, only downside is you dont really get full appreciation for expressions at a glance

Everything on the early floors are hp sponges so the casuals hate it. Its way too easy for the solo autists so they have no reason to go back to it and would rather attempt potd with AST for the 1000th time.

Early floors suck to grind casually because of HP sponges
Higher floors suck because it's just like raids and requires you to do invisible AoE 90% of the time
It's also fairly easy solo compared to the other 2 and doesn't require as much Pomander planning or reaction skill

The real localization travesty of this game is that despite having two separate opportunities to do so, Koji has never gone back and properly translated Haurchefant's dialogue in the 2.0 MSQ.
A lot of people have thrown fits about Nael but that was a very different situation. Nobody on the dev team had decided on Nael's gender until Second Coil. But in 1.0 Koji was given a character with a male name and male animations, and despite the devs still deciding on if they wanted to go for a Samus reveal, he had to refer to Nael in some way. And this was in 2010/2011 before the pronoun shit had escaped tumblr, so 'they' still wasn't acceptable as a pronoun for a single known person. So given the animations and name, he called Nael a man. Then a few years later they sprung it on him. So the lore team had to come up with lore to explain it. And it ended up being kino.
Japanese MMOs are notorious for having a producer who actively hates their own game. I am pretty sure it's a cultural thing.
